Yes. >> And then you're saying you you grabbed her by the throat? >> Yeah. To get her off me, bro. >> Right now, you're just going to >> No. No. >> I'm telling you right now. >> Oh my god. >> Overcontrolling [music] husbands often confuse leadership with tyranny. They lead their homes with iron fists, and their poor wives usually end up on the receiving end. She'll never show the other other footage where I sit there quietly for an hour and let her just verbally verbally verbally lay into me until I finally snap and I'll flip a table. >> When I turn around like that, I elbow her and she starts leaking all leaking. But I didn't know she was going to. >> Here are several wild moments when cops save women from their overcontrolling husbands. Starting with the moment an officer witnessed an overcontrolling man abusing his partner in a public parking lot while she held on to their newborn. >> The main thing was right she going in my like going in my phone like I'm going way to ditch right she looking at my phone looking at my phone. >> Well, I'm just wondering why you had a backhanded. >> I didn't I saw I saw you man. On October the 23rd, 2025, an officer with the Neapville Police Department [music] was sitting in a Dick's Sporting Goods parking lot when he noticed a couple arguing. At first, it looked like a routine dispute, but the situation changed fast when the man tried to assert dominance by getting physical while his partner was still holding a newborn. This disturbing scene immediately forced the officer to step in before things got blown way out of proportion. >> Hey, stay put for me, please. >> Hey, >> how are you? >> Sorry, I'm late. My man, what's going on? You guys arguing? >> You good? >> Let me see your ID. >> Is it just you three? >> Yeah. What's that, buddy? >> Casual. >> That's your name. Casual. >> I don't have nothing to write on. How do you How do you spell your first name? >> Uh, all right. We'll wait a second here. But did you just Did you guys just pull up? Okay. >> All right then. >> Okay. >> That's my baby mother. >> I got you. >> If I can go for four. >> Um, >> what's this [ __ ] with you guys? [music] >> You know, you know, cheating. >> You know exactly what it was, >> right? >> I ain't going to lie to you. Cheating. >> All right. My phone. >> I got you. Just call back here real quick. giving anybody. >> All right, I'm just going to put that on. Okay, >> listen. I know that you I'm I was just sitting here. I know you're not trying to have us be involved in whatever that was cuz I can't ignore what I saw, obviously. >> Mhm. >> Are you okay? >> Mhm. >> Um what were you guys all about? >> You have to measure. >> He just said something about cheating. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Well, regardless, >> okay, >> but it's not that serious. I just want to go ahead and buy my baby a Coke. >> Okay. Where you guys from? >> Chicago. Okay. Um, and this is your boyfriend or >> Yes, I did. >> Okay. Is that all right? Um, obviously I know it's it a separate it's this going to be a separate issue, but your car also smelled like weed. Is there a large amount in there? >> You got a car? >> Okay. You got a car seat for the baby in there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um, can you just show me that you don't have any in your Are you okay? >> Mhm. >> Are you sure? >> Yeah, I'm fine. I'm fine. >> Does it look like I hurt? >> No. >> I know it didn't tickle. >> I know it didn't feel good. >> It's okay. >> 12. You want to call 12? >> Go in the store. Get hard coat. I'm just trying to >> I understand that. I understand that you guys had like a history of just not getting along. >> Never. >> Yeah. Come on over here real quick. You're going to be free to go in a minute. Just come on over here. >> We don't argue with nothing. I'm just I just did something in my phone. That's all. >> Okay. But still, regardless, doesn't Nobody deserves that. So, come on over here real quick just by the the car. After securing the scene, the investigation moved into full swing with the male suspect as officers began piecing together what had happened and pushing for answers after he was seen getting unnecessarily physical with the woman. >> So, what's going on? What happened? >> Arguing with my baby. >> Oh, man. I got those problems, too. >> Yeah. Yeah. just want to do that. But the main thing was right, she going in my like going to my phone like I'm going my way to ditch, right? Yeah. She looking at my phone, looking at my phone. You texting somebody paragraphs thinking this is >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> My home. >> Yeah. >> So you know me there something say when you study doing this and I'm not wrong, you got to be doing something, >> right? >> Guess what? Her phone on the radio, right? So I'm like, "Okay, we pull up." Okay, let me see your phone. Open your phone. Guess what she do? >> Jump over Yep. >> I promise. You know how we and her phone open. So it's like, >> "All right, let me see." I never going. Never care. You know, we don't even >> let me see your phone real quick. Guess what? Jumping over. >> You ain't You ain't seen it yet. >> Ain't seeing nothing. >> Get the phone. Hurry up. We have been able to the bathroom. Now she coming out. >> I was going to give you the phone. >> Right. Right. >> I tell you I'm walking behind her like come here. Let me see your phone. She went to the bathroom. I just turned around and back up like we'll figure it out. She coming around. I told you to leave something in your phone. That's when he was pulling. You know what I'm saying? >> See the argument. Yeah, >> man. And that's simply what it was. And that's my baby mama. So, you know, it got >> it. Yeah. For sure. It got heated. So, I ain't going to laugh there. But that's exactly what it was. >> Go ahead. >> And I get tired of my f just it be like it's >> go if I'm wrong going. But it's like, bro, if you not >> what it's going to be, bro. Don't do the most of that. >> We all We all got those. We all got those problems. Let me tell you, we all got them problems. >> Whether he's tired or go away, but that's the case right there. >> Okay. Nothing. Nothing wild. Nothing crazy. Give me two minutes. >> So what? So she's cheating on you or you cheating on her? Is that the argument? >> It's the phone. What's going over the phone? >> The argument is she she said I'm texting somebody in my phone. Paragraphs. >> Yeah. Paragraph. You say texting paragraphs in my phone? I'm like I ain't texting no girl, so what do matter? So you is texting. I sure now I don't even do this. I'm like I'mma show you cuz I'm right this time, >> right? >> Yeah. What you got to say? You deleted it. >> Okay. So that's what I never go through her phone in life. I don't really do stuff like her phone on the radio. So I'm like, "Okay, when I go to your phone, I gra >> I'm like she never done this. like jumping up. >> They let me know everything. I need to get out the car. She get the baby. I'm like, "Well, he's okay." She run up in the back. I guess we will definitely come back out like she said. She said, "Do you guys are you boyfriend girlfriend or you?" >> Okay, that's it. That's just a relationship. >> We in a relationship, >> you know. Yeah. Okay. cuz she wouldn't be jealous if it was just being an island. >> Weird. All right. No, I'm just curious. >> That's not necessarily true. >> Well, that's true. >> For real. For real. >> I'm just wondering why you had a backhander, though. >> I didn't I saw I saw you, man. >> No, I I didn't. >> I saw you backhand. I didn't I didn't backhand. I didn't We was just She was coming to the car. I didn't just backhand. Casual. >> I saw you. It was right here, man. I was right in front of the store. Oh, >> I didn't back. >> I'm just saying why I mean why they have to resolve mad wherever y'all are. >> I have to That's the case. I would have said [ __ ] and I won't even say [ __ ] I won't even say she like and there's no reason we don't even play like that. We don't even play like that. Like there's not even no reason even with her like Robert. She not going to say I play with her like that. Yeah, it is. >> So, I mean, unfortunately, I'm like >> drive the neighbor. They noticed that the back door lock is broken. People that used to live here vacated sometimes they come back for to check. >> All right. >> But I want to tell you the whole situation as a whole before you think that, >> oh, you heard me wrong. No, I don't want you to think that by far. All right. >> So, whatever situation, however you resulted or whatever you resorted to, >> that's you might just talk and chat with him for a minute. >> The officers remained cool and friendly, a calculated approach to get him talking. He denied everything outright, but still agreed to be arrested. And in doing so, he somewhat admitted to it without saying it directly. >> All right, casual. I mean, I got to put you in the fair. I can't I can't ignore what I saw. Okay. >> So, what I'm going What's the charge? Just domestic battery. >> Whatever. >> Domestic battery. >> Yeah. >> Because he saw it and because it's >> in the in the public view, right? You got to He He's got to do it. She's She cannot cheat. If she doesn't want to go forward with it, she doesn't go forward. >> So, we'll talk to you in two seconds. We'll talk to you in two seconds. >> Why' he get handcuffed? >> Well, so because this officer was in the parking lot and he witnessed what he witnessed, right? We cannot just walk away. Like that's that >> he didn't do anything. >> But that's but he the officer saw it. So that's that's part of the problem, right? If you if we came here and like it was like I he maybe did it, he maybe didn't do it. >> I'm telling you he did it. I don't know what he saw. He didn't do nothing. So >> but that's that's the problem. He saw it. We are obligated by state law to do it. Okay. So he's going to be going to he's going to be going to uh Neighborville Police Department. He'll be getting booked for obvious domestic battery. One count, not two counts or anything like that. If you don't want to cooperate, you don't have to cooperate. That's not that's that's something later down the road. but he saw what he saw and he's we it's just we have to do it. All right. Um he's probably going to have a no contact order with you for 72 hours. That's a 72-hour stay away. Um that's just what the for >> that's the court does it. So it's it's [music] it's to protect victims of domestic battery. I'm not and listen, I'm not saying that that's exactly what this is and all that and you need all that. That's just what the court does to do that. Um just so it is what it is, right? If you violate it, if he violates it, he violates it. And that's on you guys, you to figure out or you to you to pursue. And obviously, you don't have to pursue any of this if you don't want to. That's later on down the road. Okay. >> I know. I know. >> And but because it's because we're we're hands are tied with domestic battery because it and this this is [music] strictly by state statute to protect victims of domestic battery cuz >> that's not I'm not a victim of domestic battery. >> I know, but this this is we're going on based on what the officer saw cuz he's sitting in the parking lot. He heard you guys yelling and heard you guys. >> That's all he was doing was yelling. He didn't hit me. He didn't do nothing. I was literally walking in the store. >> I did. I'm sorry, man. >> And that's because obviously it's it's to protect victims of domestic battery. That's No, in your car if you can. It's our hands are tied on it. We can't We can't do anything about it. He saw what he saw. >> Where he going? >> He's going to Neighborville. Um do they still get transported to county? >> Yes. >> So, he's going to be transported to DuPage County. First appear in court. Just got to get her. >> I just got to get his phone or whatever else or his wallet or whatever he left. >> No, he said that's his phone. I just need to give him his phone. >> Okay. I mean, you can go I would go in and get it cuz she she's not going to give it up if it's B. >> That's all. Yeah. I'm going to swing this door open. Okay. >> Oh, let's go. I'll just throw this. >> Okay. And then just the sunglasses in this pocket. All right. Nothing else is going to stick or poke me? >> No. >> All right. I need you to face the squad. I'll get you in and out. All right. >> Okay. >> I'm asking you if y'all if you give my phone and inventory to me, don't I leave with my phone? >> Yeah. Yeah. We got to give my phone. >> I mean, you got a wallet? >> Uhuh. >> No wallet. I'm talking. >> Yeah. >> Hey, Cash. was cool if I remove the hood real quick. I want you to turn it while I do see the time. You know, that's my baby. >> Yeah, I feel you. >> Like, why you got a time, though? >> All right. Be good to take a seat in there. >> Let's go and have a seat. >> Yeah, let's go ahead and take a seat. >> Yeah, I'm moving. All right. >> Yes, sir. >> Yeah, this is an apartment. >> Yeah, >> I guess. All right, man. You said I got to stay a night in jail. >> Yeah, we got to go to Dench County just cuz it's domestic. Like I explained her, what whatever happens after this happens after this. Uh but unfortunately our hands are tied behind our back but state [music] statutes. It's a victim thing. So it's to protect victims of domestic violence. Obviously that's not what we're talking about here. Obviously, but it's it's for that. >> Well, it's it's he saw what he saw and that's the problem, >> right? So it's it's it sucks, but he saw what he saw to get weird though. It's not going to mine. I don't like I just want to be with y'all. >> That's all. That's it. That's [music] not It's Nope. It's not. That's not going to be good. >> Are these yours? These are his. All right. All right. My man. I'll take you. >> They'll drop you. They'll take you to the jail. All right. My man. >> While the officers were only trying to help, the victim seemed focused on something entirely different, showing what looked like seriously misplaced priorities. >> Thank you. >> Um, sorry. Say that one more time. >> Why do he have to stay at night? Why can't he go get bonded out? He's not a domestic. Nothing going on. There's nothing going on. I DON'T KNOW WHAT HE SAW. NOTHING. I'M WALKING IN THE DAMN STORE. All we doing was yelling. He didn't touch me, bro. Why is he going to jail? Why is he going to jail? >> Because that's not what the officer saw. All right. This is >> He didn't see nothing. He didn't see. He didn't see nothing. >> Right. So, it's going to be your word versus his. And that's all it's going to be. >> MY WORD MATTER. IT'S ME THAT WE TALKING ABOUT. CORRECT. SO, why is he going to jail? I'm telling you this. because the victim advocate like the victim rights laws of the D of of of the state of Illinois ties our hands because of victims and and obviously the not stigma but the aftermath of what victims go through right and I'm not I'm not we're not saying that you're a victim or you this did happen this didn't happen that's not what I'm saying I'm saying there's certain laws in effect that we do not have any discretion on and this is one of them all right so if the officer claims that he saw that he hit you then that's what we have to go by we don't have to go we We can't we can't go by just I'm not going to do nothing cuz that's not how it works. All right. So, he's going to spend the night in DW Page County. He'll get he'll get his bond tomorrow morning and everything will be will be he'll be released tomorrow. He ain't going to stay any longer than that and that's it's [music] just it is what it is. I know it's I know it sucks and it's 100% unfortunate, but it we're that's our our hands are tied in this and that's just that's what we're that's what we're going on. >> Why does he have to stay at night? >> Well, that cuz that they can't they won't let us bond [music] them. They make it for domestic and it's really only domestics at this point that they [music] make them stay in jail. That's just one night in jail. That's basically what happens. That's that by that's by statute. Um did you do you want me to throw that away or you want to take >> I'll take I didn't throw it away. >> All right. >> All right. So you uh some somebody will follow up with you probably from our social services unit. You can tell them that you don't want to do anything about it and we'll go from there. All right. In the end, he was charged with simple battery. While the last man was incredibly toxic, it was nothing compared to Kelly, whose idea of control and leadership at home was sheer violence. >> Did he say anything to you before he put his hands on you? Did he >> God? Please forgive me for killing her. >> What did you do to her? >> I got her off me. >> Ow. I grabbed her right through. On February the 19th, 2025, officers with the Winter Haven Police Department rushed to a home after a woman reported that her partner was assaulting her. The officers responded quickly, but before they could arrive, the suspect had already slipped away, at least for the moment. >> Hi. >> Hello. >> How are you, ma'am? What's going on? I have puppies. >> Okay, no worries. We'll keep an eye on him. >> He left just now because my friend said she called the cops. >> Okay. What happened? He has been doing this to me since 8:00 this morning. He has scratches down the side of his face, though, because I scratched him to get him to put >> He laid his knee on me with >> What's his name? >> Kelly Cwley. >> What's he look like? >> Blonde, white. >> I'll give you [music] >> Does he live here? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Isn't there nobody else in the house? >> No. >> Do you have Go ahead. >> You live here? >> Yes. >> I've lived here for a year. >> What direction did he go? I don't know because he's had me pinned in the bedroom. We have no blur, so I couldn't get a room away from him. I'm pulling up a picture. >> What was he wearing? >> He was wearing a black t-shirt with skulls >> and he's white. >> Yes. >> What pants? >> He has on black cargo shorts. >> What kind of hair? >> He has on gray and white boooos. >> No one else is home. >> You're okay with this residence? usect. >> Kelly, if you're in here, make your presence known. >> The police. >> We're good back here. It's just the kitchen. >> So, last time I was here, Kelly and another person were found she >> Kelly. >> No, the that was the boyfriend. >> Yeah, his ex-girlfriend >> passed away. >> Died on the couch downstairs. >> What started the argument yesterday and around what time? It started on my birthday and I let it go on Monday and then yesterday we just argued and then today he has done nothing but >> the life out of me because I don't love him. >> Okay. So he you >> where in the house were you? >> Uh if you go in our bedroom there's a rack and it is now bent all to hell from where he slammed my body. >> Okay. Um when he that he impeded your breathing in any way. >> This side I can't breathe and I'm not dropping charges this time. >> Okay. Um >> I've let him get away with it. This is >> Did he say anything to you before he put [music] his hands on you? Did he >> God please forgive me for killing her? >> While the investigation was still gathering momentum, another group of officers responded to a shoplifting incident nearby and suddenly [music] came face to face with someone who matched the suspect's description almost perfectly. >> We're entertaining right now. >> You're being detained right now. >> You're being detained right now. >> They got you on camera. says taking items out of out of a bag, put out items out of packages and put it in a bag. Okay? >> I never took packages out of packages. >> They got you on camera. Okay. >> All right. We'll go review the camera. So, what they want to know? All right. >> I don't feel anything. >> I don't keep anything. >> You got ID on you? >> No, you don't have ID. >> I lost my wallet. >> All right. All right. I'm going just cut you down. What's this right here? >> Wallet. >> Okay. You lost your wallet two days ago, right? >> Yeah. It's It's wallet. >> Okay. You got anything? What's this? >> What's this? >> Yeah. Ask your daddy a favor. This one stick or stab me. Right. >> Can it This can't stab me. It's a knife, right? >> It's a knife, though. It's a knife, right? >> It's a It's a knife. >> It's a knife, right? >> Period. I'm sorry. >> Can it stab me? >> Okay. Can a pair of pliers stab you? It can't. >> I don't know. >> Is it illegal to put bags in bags? Uh when you're taking when you're taking items when you're taking items out of a packet is [music] from here. >> Okay. We're going to find out. >> That's right. >> Okay. We're going to find out >> if it isn't. Yeah. >> We're going to find out. >> I didn't take any sir. >> Hop off your bike. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> What? >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Take your hands out of your pockets. >> Give me your hand. >> Sorry. Sorry. >> One to 10. >> I understand. Good. >> Sit down. >> Sit down. >> Sorry. >> Good job. >> Okay. [snorts] >> I didn't do anything wrong. She She was doing it to me. Look at my Look at my face. >> See my face. I tried to get her to leave me alone and stop. >> That's the one that >> I tried to get her off of me. >> Okay. Well, why didn't you stay there? >> I took She wouldn't leave me alone, bro. >> All right. Well, >> I stay there. She was >> First of all, before I ask you any questions, I'm going to read you something. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against the court law. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, won't be appointed to represent you before any question if you wish. You can decide that any time to exercise his rights and not answer >> any questions or make any statements. >> Do you understand right? >> I know. Before I talk to you, yes, you understand. Okay. Well, you're in handcuffs, so I got to before I talk to you. >> She hit me, bro. And I tried to get her off me. >> Who's she? >> My girlfriend. >> What's her name? >> Nancy. >> Nancy? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, go back from the beginning. What happened? >> Oh, she woke me up crying about some ear pods that I didn't even have. They were on the headboard and I showed them to her. I gave them to her. >> Okay. And then what? >> And she wouldn't stop hitting me and being to me, dog. She spit my face, too. >> Where'd she hit you? >> She right there in my face. scratched you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And how else did she hit you? >> She scratched me. >> What did you do to her? >> I got her off me. >> How? >> I grabbed her by the throat cuz she wouldn't stop hitting me, bro. She was standing on laying on top of me, hitting me while I was sleeping. >> Okay. So, >> she woke me up, hitting me cuz she could have earbuds. >> While you were in bed, she was [music] scratching you, hitting you. >> Yes. >> And then you're saying you you grabbed her by the throat? >> Yeah. To get her off me, bro. >> Okay. So she was on top of you and you're her while you're laying on the bed. >> Yeah. To get her off me. >> And then what happened? It >> was going to the floor. I got up and walked in and got my bike and left. >> That's it. >> Yes. >> His version of events only made one thing clear. He wasn't planning to take [music] any responsibility for his actions. >> What's What's all this marks on your light? Is that from today or bruises? Scratches? >> I ran this before the other day on my [music] bike. >> So just the scratches are from today. Yes. >> And what's your name? >> Kelly. >> What's your first name? >> K E L Y. >> Last name. [music] >> Pro C R O W Y. >> Pull your arms up. I'll check them. >> One finger there. One finger there. Stand up. >> [music] >> All right. >> You good? >> Yeah. >> You got anything on you illegal? Anything in your pockets? >> Stand up, dude. >> I'm sorry, bro. >> Why can't you stand like a normal person? >> I'm sorry. I understand why I'm being detained. All you got to do left your house. >> So, right now, [music] we're investigating a a battery incident. Okay. That's the reason why you're being detained. Let's walk over here real quick. Right. Where? >> Over here. >> You want to take them? >> Take them. >> I understand why I'm being taken. >> Come on. >> Let's go this way. We're going over there. >> I already told you. We're investigating the battery. >> I understand. But it was the battery on me, sir. >> Right now. Right now. >> Why am I being arrested if the battery was on me? I left. I got her off. >> Exactly. >> I got her off me. I left so she would stop. >> You didn't But you didn't You didn't call. >> I did call. >> I did call. I called y'all to help me, man. >> I got that. I got that part. You did call your phone. What happened to your phone? >> What happened to my Where's your phone at? >> Hold on. They got it. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Have a seat. >> You were there. >> Yeah. >> Why am I going to jail, sir? >> Put your feet in. >> I mean, it's >> Look back when we get >> It doesn't Okay, >> I didn't do anything wrong. I She woke me up hitting me. >> After wrapping things up with Kelly, his girlfriend was taken to the hospital as her injuries became more [music] severe over time. They prompted officers to visit her at the hospital where they uncovered even more disturbing details. >> It was my birthday so I just wanted everything to die down and I tried my hardest to keep everything calm. Yesterday we argued a little bit but not like today and there was some girl at the house and I asked him I said who's the girl at the house? There ain't no one here. I said said okay. So I come home and I was like so who was the girl at the house? Look cuz it's on my phone. And he's like, "I told you there was no girl here." And it [music] just escalated from there because I told him that he was a liar. I called him on his and no one likes to be called on their >> Did you guys Did he hit you yesterday or it was just arguing yesterday? >> It was just arguing yesterday. >> Okay. And then what happened today? How did the argument start or how did it continue? >> When he came up the stairs, he's like, "Baby, I'm not lying to you." I said, "Own your [music] >> Was that today or yesterday?" >> Today. >> Okay. this morning. He started putting his hands on me about 7:30 this morning. >> And the argument was over the female, right? >> Yeah. He when he [music] um he come over to my side of the bed and sat down beside me and acted like everything was fine. >> So that [music] was when you guys first woke up. >> No, we we had been arguing all night. >> So you haven't slept? >> No. And and when I stood up, he slammed me to the bed and then drugg me to the floor. And then he would me and he would try to turn my neck this [music] way. And when he me he said, "I'm going to kill you now and I hope God forgives me >> because you're not leaving me." >> And then what happened? >> Then he quit. [music] I find and I stood up and he's like, "Why can't you love me?" I said, "I will never love you again." I said, "I despise you." I said, "You're going to be the reason I go to hell because I I'm getting to the point where I hate you." >> In the end, Kelly Curtis [music] Crowley was charged with two counts of domestic violence as well as felony battery. Kelly was awful, just like Michael, whose tyrannical behavior got exposed in real time at a hotel after he completely lost control. >> Oh my god. >> How did she get the cut on her hand? >> Fine, though. I got cuts on me. On Friday, March the 29th, 2024, police officers from the Zepha Hills Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance at a hotel after a front desk clerk reported seeing a man assaulting his wife and throwing her to the floor. When officers arrived and spoke with hotel staff, the investigation quickly opened a whole can of worms. >> Hello. >> Hello. >> Lady just walked out the room because she doesn't want didn't want me to call you guys, but I couldn't stand here watching her in the lobby either. So he's hitting her in the lobby. >> She was so bad by the truck. She went to room 129. She didn't want me to call. She doesn't want to be involved in it. But >> I could watch computer. She wasn't doing nothing besides sitting at the computer. >> I would have my general manager on her way back here. So she'll have it. >> He's out back and she's at 120. >> He's right here. And she ran into her 129. Why would somebody tell me that you were hitting on her? It was >> I didn't Why am I getting told that you were? >> I wouldn't hit on her. >> Okay. If I have hit on her, I'd have >> blasted hering head. >> Well, what happened to your pinky there? >> She probably bit it. >> She probably bit it. All right. >> Right now, you're just going to >> No. No. >> I'm telling you right now. >> I'm telling you right now, bro. I'm not the one you want to do that with. Give me your hands now. Give me your hands. Give me your hands. You're going to get that tased, bro. I'M TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW, YOU'RE going to get >> While the officers thought that wrestling him was the peak of the night, they had no idea that his abuse had already left behind breadcrumbs big enough to sink him completely. >> One, two, three. >> Congratulations. Was it worth it? No, >> I didn't think so. >> I don't know what it did. I ain't got no drug. I say you did. Well, now you're going to jail for resisting arrest. Hand me the battery. >> You're not going anywhere. >> I ain't going nowhere, bud. Don't tense up on me. I'm not the one you want to play these games with. You understand me? I'm not the one. I understand I'm not the one. >> I understand. >> Relax. >> I UNDERSTAND YOU, MOTHER. >> RELAX. >> Let you relax. >> You're the one, bud. >> Just relax. You let the dog out? >> Yeah, you're good, buddy. >> Yep. >> That's not very polite. >> That is very polite. >> Relax. mother's doing this to me. >> Well, >> you did it to yourself. >> I didn't do this to myself. >> Actually, >> I was out here relaxing, >> right? And this would have just simply been, you know, an investigation. But you wanted a fight. So, >> I I didn't want to get in a fight. >> Well, >> you just me around, man. >> You didn't want to listen when I told you. >> You You told me. You're doing it right now. Relax. >> You're doing it right now. >> Just relax. [music] Just relax. That's all you have to do is just relax. >> It's not that hard. There you go. Just relax. Be real tense, buddy. Sit. Just relax. >> I'm going to put my car in the fire rescue, too. >> That's fine. Come on, bubble. We're going to have a seat this way. Cool. >> You You pull me easy. >> I'm trying to guide you. That's all I'm holding on to you for. I don't want you to fall. >> All right. I ain't no fall. >> You'd be surprised how many people did that. I'll fall. >> Okay. Watch out. >> After securing him, the officers changed their focus to gathering [music] solid evidence to back up every claim and figure out exactly how they were going to move forward with this case. [music] >> Tell you what, thank you. >> No, you're good. I just need one of y'all licenses so that we can put that down on the report. >> I can go out to the car. >> Can I get mine? >> Just put you down on the report. >> I know. I know you're you guys. Oops. Wrong one. >> Do you need mine, too? Cuz I can go get it. >> Sure, if you don't mind. >> Yeah, she was starting. She was sitting at the computer not doing anything when he came in and he started swearing. He said, and whatever. And she got up and she walked over here and said, "Don't be able to get the footage." >> She's here right now. >> Oh, she's here. If she don't find there, I already I already asked her where she was going to be. And uh >> you want to write it down on a statement for me what happened? >> Yeah. All right. Perfect. >> Yes, ma'am. I'll be right back. All right. >> He must be the GM, huh? >> Yes. Camera. >> Sorry to argue with this. >> Hey, it's the police department. >> Hey, how you doing, ma'am? I just wanted to see if I could grab some quick photos of you, >> sir. I'm kind of afraid to even open my damn doors. You know why? Because my kids >> Hey, listen. Listen. Hey, we're just here for you. Okay. Your Is that your husband outside? >> Yes. You know what? My My kids My Yeah, that that's my ex because my kids got me and him a divorce. He's all upset. >> You guys share kids in common? >> Yeah. And you know what they did? And I had to go to the FBI because of what they did. And And I'm scared of the police right now. Because >> Why are you scared of them? And we're here for you. I'm being set up. >> Well, hey, listen. He's doing he he's going to be going to jail tonight. Okay. We got video footage of him beating on you in the in the front lobby, and he shouldn't be putting his hands on you like that. >> I know. >> Why do you put up with it? Huh? >> Well, I didn't. I came up here. Um the the problem is my my kids have gotten him so upset that he started drinking again. >> I got you. >> They took everything we own. They took their old You don't even know what these kids have done to us. >> I know. Listen, I totally understand. But >> what I'm trying to get at tonight is that just because he's upset, he shouldn't be putting his hands on you. You You don't do that. You deserve better than that. All right. >> Whenever he he starts putting his hands on you, you give us a call. You mind if I grab some quick photos of you? >> Uhhuh. >> You mind if I grab photos of you? Okay. >> And let me see. Is this the only scratch you got today? >> Uh, yeah. I think so. I don't know. Yeah, I I think that's um Yeah, that's Yeah, >> he was more worried about us talking to us more than anything. >> Let's see what you guys are working with. >> Carmen. Carmen's her, right? >> Yes. >> Lady was at the computer. Plus, he came and yelling. She got up, walked over by front desk and told him to leave her alone. Don't hit her again. He was yelling at her and she kept saying, "Leave me alone." Um, he pushed her to the floor, plus continued to yell at her and started to punch her >> and I pretty much rolled everything off. >> I was at the desk. This guy came in and started yelling at the lady, >> saying, "Nope." >> Let me in my room to go to bed. And she told him to stop following her. And she and he still followed her. >> Yeah, cuz he followed her around this table. >> Okay. He grabbed her by the arm and neck and threw her to the ground as she tried to get up and he was bling on her like >> and then he walked outside to the back to the truck and he was calling her all the kids. All kids >> all kind of names. >> Oh lord. >> Yeah, >> that's perfect. Did she Was she able to grab footage for me? >> Yeah. >> Perfect. >> Perfect video. >> Let's see what you are working on. [laughter] your car. Oh my god. [music] Oh, he's trying to grab a purse. >> Whose dog? >> Mine. He doesn't like fighting for violence. >> He's telling him, "Cut the nonsense." >> Thank you. >> In the end, he was charged with battery and resisting [music] an officer without violence. Michael was just as bad as Richard, another unrepentant, controlling, and abusive [music] husband who would rather blame his household for reacting to his own harmful behavior than take any responsibility for the damage he caused. >> There's a lot of camera footage. She definitely is like a 100%. I I've realized way too late that she's a what they call a narcissist where I I sit there and record her without anybody knowing and I'm like I'm like if we go to judge or whatever, I'm not even going to pull it out. I'm not even going to bother. >> On October the 30th, 2024, deputies were dispatched after a delayed report involving multiple domestic incidents. When they arrived that afternoon, [music] they were greeted by a smile warm enough to melt ice. The deputies knew better, but sometimes the brightest smiles also hid the darkest secrets. Richard. >> Yeah. >> How you doing? Deputy Fanfire County. How you doing today? >> We're creeping around over there. >> What the mind stepping out here talking for a sec? >> I'm fine right here. What's going on? >> We're just trying to figure it out. So >> crazy woman. >> Yeah. You and your wife have been having some issues lately. >> Huh? >> So you and your wife have been having some issues lately? >> Yeah. She hasn't taken our kid to school in about 2 weeks now and I get a phone call every day with threats from them because I'm in Ocala every day working. She's been gone. Ghost. So I just pulled up in the driveway. There's no one creeping up right now. Three guys from me. Yeah, that's a supervisor. >> I guess I'll come in anyway. So, yeah, she's just been really weird, flaked out, gone, completely gone. Ghost, won't answer the phone. And every day I get a phone call from school, the automatic recording every single day. Your child is not in attendance today. At the beginning of the school day, I memorized the [ __ ] thing. So, every day I get that phone call, I'm like, "Yeah, I don't know where my wife is. I don't know where my kids are. I got three kids. I don't know where any of them are." I pulled up today, happened to leave early. Sure enough, she's out of the [ __ ] getting in the car. I'm like, "Hey, just talk to me. Tell me kids are so I can school." That's all I'm wor about is them school. That's all I care about is them going to school. >> That's it. That's the end of my story. >> Which kids aren't going to school? Just the 8-year-old? >> Yeah. The other one's old enough he takes care of himself. He goes, >> "So, what happened in the house today?" >> I just I just got home. >> She been here in 2 weeks. She went to Michigan, wherever else. Maybe Baltimore. I She's been around. >> I'm talking about all the stuff that was strewn about. Drawers pulled out, furniture. >> There's stuff thrown everywhere. >> Yeah. Uh what's the deal with >> most mostly her but then I did something when I came home was still looking for all my stuff. She's she's hid all my stuff. She puts cameras everywhere. She's hiding all my keeping all her [ __ ] taking. She just sneaks in and out >> and leaves it for me to all the rest of the world while she's running off I guess cuz some dude. >> Okay. >> So >> was there anything physical during all that or >> No, I I haven't seen her in weeks. >> Everything's normally fine aside from me pulling up in the driveway and actually seeing her here. I was like, "Hey." And she freaking tried to hit me and I'm like just what? I just want to talk to what's going on with the goddamn kid. Can you take the kid to school? I don't care about nothing else. Take that kid to school. She refuses to take that kid to school. No. >> So that's it. >> So you didn't see her last night then. Just >> No, I haven't seen her in weeks. That was the first time I've seen my wife in weeks. >> Okay. >> The oldest kid I see every couple days, but he's usually at school. I get I'm Today is my first day coming home early. I'm usually home at 7:30. >> Got you. in the end of uh August, did something happen with you, your wife and son, the oldest son about some text messages or something about vaccine you had? >> Yeah. And then I guess you and some down to a fight. >> I don't know nothing about that. >> No, nothing about that. Text me. >> Has there been any disturbances where you guys have been physical with each other? Anything like that or the son? No. Uh you and your wife? >> Not really. I mean, not forever. >> The son, the the thing with him was drugs and he's he's I got to smoke a pot and take school and I keep getting phone calls from school about him get in trouble and mostly her with her. The arguments goes between them and I'm, like I said, I'm always at work, so I just let them deal with it. >> When I get home, I have to [ __ ] for both of them. So, >> controlling spouses usually acts like they were never wrong. But this time, the officers already had a theory backed by facts. His sudden switch from a calm suburban husband to a fingerpointing victim wasn't fooling anybody. >> Have you disciplined the 16-year-old at all? Like physically disciplined him? >> Not really. No. >> What do you mean by not really? I mean, not really. No. >> 21. >> When would you say the last time you did was? >> Never. >> And what about between you and your wife? You said that they haven't gotten physical in forever. How long's it been since things have been physical with you guys? Never. >> Is there anything else you think we should know? >> No. >> Um, that I'll explain everything. >> This time you're being placed under arrest for >> battery domestic violence and a few other charges. Right. Richard, like a typical controlling husband, tried to play his trump card on the way back to the station, putting on a full display as if it would change the outcome, but he seemed to forget that a man often exposes [music] his true self in every word that he says. >> Um, I'd have to remember everything exactly that that that whole thing with the plans. She was pissed off about something he wanted to do and then she started laying into me about you don't do nothing about his drugs. Yeah. I had nothing to do with any of that stuff. locked in the room within broken of cold. No, no, no, no, no, no. We were definitely fighting a little, but definitely no cholds and no locked doors, but it's not gonna matter. You're going to put in the report regardless. But that whole par she I I've noticed a lot of other things, but it's [music] fine cuz she's the most paragraph of a lot of things, but like you said, there's a lot of camera footage. She definitely is like 100%. I I've realized way too late that she's a what they call a narcissist, I guess, where she'll sit there and manipulate me and say things and she'll never show you the other other footage where I sit there quietly for an hour and let her just verbally verbally verbally lay into me until I finally snap and I'll flip a table. You know what I mean? Like I take the abuse as long as possible. She'll never show you that footage. She's called me a wants to her. I'm like, "What the [ __ ] are you talking about?" I just sit there and don't even say nothing. And then eventually then the film footage where where the phones in each other's faces like I'm filming you, I'm filming you. I'm like, "Yeah, I know." And I'll smack the phone out. Like if that's in there, I don't know. But yeah, that's that definitely happens all the time. But that bottom paragraph with the whole cold thing. No, no, no, no. I don't even think I went into his room really. I'm pretty sure I got outside his room and then that's when he started trying to slam the door, locking it cuz he didn't want us to go. That was it. Both of us were there at that point. He did not want us going through his stuff. We He's got a serious problem. And that's the other thing. Forget all this for a minute, but just in general, something's going on with that school where he gets tons of those vapor things, the vape boxes. And I mean, dude, we've taken [ __ ] a hundred of them things from him probably. We don't give him that kind of money. So, I don't know how he's buying them. I'm sure they're like $50 each or something. I I've wanted to go to the school and like I don't know, organize some kind of detail like where you guys can like just watch them. Watch where they go. watch who's given him those cartridges things. >> Watching a man throw his own family under the bus to save himself speaks a lot about his personality. But Richard still believed that he could bend the story as it would somehow save him. >> So that's what spawn that whole last paragraph. Just throwing that out there for you. I know, like I said, you're going to write that regardless or whatever. >> But there's [music] definitely something going on at that school at Matanza High where he could get those vapor boxes by the dozens. We've taken them 20 at a time, 30 at a time, and they're all empty and beat like he's been using out of them. >> So, like I said, I get home really late from work and uh Are you listening to something else? >> No, I'm listening. >> Oh, okay. I couldn't tell if you were doing your thing. Um, but yeah, I get home like 7 usually 7:00 7:30 and that's it's I'm already I've already missed the whole day of our lives and that gets her really mad. Like I'll come in and start cooking and cleaning and she'll just start laying into me about this and this. You're never here. Do you have any money? Blah blah blah. And I'll just like take it. Okay. Okay. Okay. that night with whatever the [ __ ] with the plans. I'm still confused on what happened that night cuz I wasn't he texted her something about his plans and she was so pissed off that he wanted to do something and I was kind of out of it like what? And she's like you don't you'll never do anything about it anyway. And that's when the whole thing started. But definitely the whole chill cold and me lock it said I was locked in his room or something like no no no no. I never even made it into his room. By the time I got to his door, he was trying to lock it so he could hide all his stuff in a report. And that's when I started reading that bottom thing and I'm like locked in the room with something about chokeold somewhere. I'm like, what? None of that. That's not how any of that happened. But whatever. I'm I'm basically nailed on everything else. I guess like I said, you guys will see her half of the footage and that's about it. You'll never You can watch some of the I've had where I I sit there and record her without anybody knowing. And I'm not I'm if we going to judge or whatever, I'm not even going to pull it out. I'm not even going to bother. But I'll definitely record her for an hour straight and I sit there quietly. So if I'm quiet, it pisses her off. If I say something back, it pisses her off. And I've just started learning about the whole narcissist. [music] Like literally since all this started the past week or so, it's been popping up in my on my like Instagram feed. Like how do they know what's going on in my life and that's what I'm dealing with where it's all narcissist narcissist. I'm like that's what she calls me and and I don't really do much. I go to work and come home and I I do as much as I can for her so I don't understand. And now it's popping up in my feed. I'm like, "Oh, she was like brainwashed to call me a narcissist." Like, "No, no, no. That's her." Sits here, manipulates all of it. Like, wow. Until I snap. And then, yeah. And she's trying to say, "I broke her foot. What was it about? She needed crutches or something." She's not saying I broke her foot, right? I was going to say, cuz she did that. I wasn't even home that day. She broke that [ __ ] while I was at work. And then I felt like she was trying to put that on me and she still blames me like, "My foot won't heal because of you." Like, what? What? What? all the stress you [music] caused me. Like, I don't even I go to work. I don't even do anything. Well, I guess now I don't have a job, so [ __ ] [laughter] My life's pretty much over because of this. And all I did, all I was [music] trying to do was make her happy and be a good dad and take care of these people. And this is where I ended up. It's pretty wild. That's what when you guys ask like, "I'm just dealing with a crazy woman like 100%. She's insane." It knows me like, "Dude, you don't deserve it." And I'm like, "I know, but I love that woman, dude. I'll fit for her." You know what I mean? Like anything she wants, I do it. Do this, [music] do that, build this, build that, go here, go there. Like, oh my god, I'm running in circles all day. She just works from home and tells me I don't do [ __ ] She made sure she ruined my entire life. I know that. That's for sure. They've called me so many times, not just the [music] recordings for the school, like the actual school calls me like, "Is he coming back?" I'm like, "Yeah, I guess. I don't know. Do you know more than me?" Eventually, he was [music] charged with domestic battery, abuse of an elderly or disabled adult, aggravated assault, child abuse, witness intimidation, and domestic [music] false imprisonment. The next case takes us to Alabama, where Kevin tried to twist the truth about [music] how his partner needed stitches after visiting him. She hit me, scratched my neck, but when I turned around, I accidentally elbowed her in her nose, and her nose started leaking. And when I turn around like that, I elbow her and she starts leaking all leaking. But I didn't know she was going to bleed. >> On October the 29th, 2024, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic violence call at an apartment after a woman said that she had escaped a dangerous encounter at the home of her boyfriend. She later arrived at the hospital bruised and shaken, forcing deputies to uncover what had really happened behind those closed doors. >> What's going on, man? >> Hey, what's up? >> How you doing today? >> Good. >> How are you? Doing good. My name is Deputy Williams with the McGomery County Sheriff's Office. You got a girlfriend? >> Uh, don't have a girlfriend. >> Ex-girlfriend? >> Yeah. >> What's her name? >> Uh, Emily Nichols. >> Emily Nichols. Okay. She's staying here with you? >> Yeah. She's not here. She's in the hospital. >> Yeah. What happened? >> So, she hit me, scratched my neck, but when I turned around, I accidentally elbowed her in her nose and her nose started leaking. >> Okay. So instead of putting pressure on her nose, she called ambulance. >> Okay. >> But scratch your neck out. >> I don't know if she's going to um I don't know if she's coming back or not. And I don't want her to >> because she is too aggressive. And when she doesn't get away, >> okay, >> she just she does the most and the extra for no reason. And it was because I was helping somebody out, giving them giving shoes to her. She wanted to grab the backpack. So when I diged the backpack from her and scratched her hand or whatever it was, she just kept grabbing the backpack. Grab the backpack. So I let her have the backpack. So then she goes and closes the door and locks the door and then uh proceeds to actually hit me in my back of my neck. When I turn around like that, I elbow her and she starts leaking uh leaking. But I didn't know she was going to bleed. She didn't go to the hospital. Okay. I went talk to her at the hospital. Okay. She's saying that she was trying to get a bug off your neck and you turned around. >> Can I Can I get a witness? Can I go work with a witness, please? >> Okay. Where's the witness at? >> He's in 207. He's in 207. >> Do that. Okay. Well, I'm going have to send it back to my car. >> Okay. >> Then we confirm your story. >> We're not We're not saying we're we're not saying you're necessarily in trouble. We're just going to confirm your story. >> Yeah. >> You confirm your story, then you won't be in trouble. >> Sound good? >> So, why is why am I getting in trouble? You're not in trouble. I'm just saying. But why am I getting why why are y'all here for me? >> Because she called she called the police. >> She called the ambulance. >> And they should call the police. So this is what we're going to do, Kevin. I mean, >> that's [ __ ] crazy, man. Cuz this is the second [ __ ] time. >> Kevin, I'm going to just sit in my car. Okay. Maybe you get all worked up right now. >> You're just sitting in the back seat. >> I feel like now I feel like I'm under arrest. >> Are you in handcuffs yet? >> No. If I want to do it, okay? I have seen my car. >> Yep. >> His name is Sterling. He would sit down and he would tell you that I helped her on accident by turning around. >> 31. We're okay. We have one to pay. You can cancel checks for now. >> He came in [music] confident like his story was airtight and could not be cracked. But what he didn't see coming was that the victim had already gone to the police and exposed [music] everything. So by the time deputies caught up with him, the truth was already way ahead of him. >> Did you smack him on the side of the neck? It was because I saw [music] a mosquito. I was trying to get it. I saw it. It was quite big. I was getting it. And then he thought I slapped him. >> Put my fingers there and tapped. I didn't slap him [music] with like a physical slap. So the mosquito I got it. >> Okay. >> And then he punched me in my nose. Meanwhile, the officers at the scene quickly turned their attention to the only witness Kevin had mentioned earlier, trying to piece together how what was supposed to be a normal, [music] smooth evening had ended with Emily in the hospital. >> Sterling, I need to talk to. >> Hey, brother. Let me talk to you real quick. >> Yeah. >> Do you know a guy named Kevin? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you know his girlfriend Emily? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yes. >> Were you with them today? >> So, obviously off and on. Um, >> they've obviously had some issues. >> Uhhuh. >> Working towards separation. >> You know how it goes. >> He said that he like hit the elbow. Now, I was not I was over here actually um sleeping when that happened. He came in the room. >> Not in the room. >> Okay, that's all we needed to know. >> I can tell you that as soon as I came in before the EMT that she acted totally different. I'm just going to be more erratic than the average. You know what I mean? So, it was not her normal. Kevin is like to me one of the nicest. And so, I don't see him doing anything ever on purpose. So, >> okay. >> That's all I can really tell you. >> All right. >> Okay. >> All right. I appreciate it. >> No problem with that. No problem. >> The witness had left a dent on Kevin's version of events. Kevin claimed that he was touched, but there wasn't a single mark on him. Well, Emily was the one who needed medical attention. >> All right, brother. Spin away from me. Put your hands behind your back. >> Why? What happened? >> Kevin wasn't there. >> Sterling was there. >> Or Sterling? Well, I just talked to him. He said he wasn't there. >> He was there. >> He says he wasn't. So, turn around. >> Come on, man. >> Okay, let's say you want to do it like that. No. >> I'm telling you for the last time nicely. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind. >> Can I get Sterling? Okay. Okay. >> Can I go talk to him again? Right away. >> I have Look, look. I have video evidence of her putting her hands on me. Quit fighting. >> Go ahead. >> I'm not doing anything. No, I'm not. >> See this, brother? >> See this? Get tased. Get out. >> I'm not doing anything. I have heart condition, bro. Stop. I have heart condition. Stop. >> I'm not doing >> your elbow. >> I am. >> No, >> I didn't hit her. >> In the car. >> I was say I'll get the other side. >> In the car. >> ARE YOU IN YOUR LEGS? >> WHY ARE YOU doing this? >> In the car. >> GET IN THE CAR.
