Are you broke down? >> Um, I have a dasher on like the phone right now with me right now. Like, uh, I'm trying to pull over, but my car won't move at all. >> Gotcha. It just completely broke down. >> Yeah. So, I have like my, um, emergency. >> Gotcha. Do you have a toe coming? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Um I have my insurance on the phone right now trying to figure out what to do. >> Gotcha. Okay. Yeah. >> Where are we going to vehicle? >> Yes. Just let me know when they got a toe coming or you can call one. >> Thank you so much. I'm calling a tow me out right now. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Perfect. Thank >> Can you get the vehicle in neutral by chance? >> Uh yeah. >> Let me turn on everything right now. Um, can you please let me know what where >> do you have your ID by chance? >> Yeah. >> Um, can you give me one second, please? I'm getting like into neutral right now to move it. I've tried to >> do you have your ID real quick? >> Can you give me one second, please? >> Where are you coming from? >> Um, just going home um from Taco Bell for the night. I was teaching a friend and she ended up walking home. >> Gotcha. Okay. Can you put it actually? Sorry. Yeah. Neutral. Can you put it all the way in park? >> Yeah. Okay. >> So, how long ago did it break down? >> It broke it down about uh 20 minutes ago and we put it in park and then we tried to put it in neutral and push it and it just wasn't doing anything. 475. Yeah, that was fun. >> We tried to put it in neutral and push it and it didn't do anything. >> Okay. >> That got you. You try. You tried to put it in neutral. >> Yeah, we tried to put neutral like neutral and push it and nothing happened. Um >> weird. And so yeah, so we were trying to like figure out what to do and so that's why I called my like insurance trying to get it out of the road. >> Um and then people pulled over and they were like, "We don't know what to do at all." >> Um >> where do you live? >> I live at University Crossing. >> Okay. >> And I just want to get it out of the room. stressed out about >> and so I called my insurance trying to figure out what to do cuz this has been the second time that this has happened. >> Oh, that's crazy. >> Yeah. So, I'm really stressed out about it. >> Um, and I just want to get it off the roadway. >> Okay. Yeah. Do you mind if I take a look at your eyes real quick? >> Yeah, of course. >> Can you turn your pillow towards me as best you can? >> Just take a look at my pen here with your eyes on keeping your head still. Okay. Um, can I talk to you outside the car or have you just go over to the sidewalk here. Try to get us out of the road real quick. Okay. Um, did you end up getting a flat tire there? >> Yeah. >> What happened? >> I have no idea. I've had problems with it in the past and that's why I'm like really stressed out about it. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> And you were coming from Taco Bell. Um, yeah. >> Okay. Did you get some food this morning? >> Uh, kind of. I brought a friend home. I was trying to bring a friend home. >> Okay. >> And then she ended up walking home. >> Okay. Um, so about You've been here for about 20 minutes? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yesterday. >> And where were you? When did you first start driving or where did you first start driving? >> I first started driving from Taco Bell. I was parked at um Taco Bell. about before Taco Bell? >> Before that, I was parked in their parking lot. >> Before Taco Bell, where about like you've been at Taco Bell all night? >> Well, no, my car was parked there. I was not parked there all day. >> Oh, gotcha. So, you where did you go to Taco Bell from or where were you at before Taco Bell? >> Uh, before that I was up on University Crossing like Street. >> Okay. >> Um, and then I came back to my car. I started it from originally and I've been having problems with it from about a week and a half straight. Uh so I didn't think anything was really wrong with it. >> Started it. Um and that's when I started noticing mechanical problems. >> Gotcha. Um and there's someone else in the car with you? >> Not currently. She ended up walking home >> before you got here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yes, sir. >> Kayleie, where do you live? >> I live at University Crossing. >> What's the address? >> What's the phone number for? Yeah. And you drove here from Taco Bell. Yeah. And it's been about 20 minutes. >> Yeah. And my car just completely quit after about 10 minutes in. >> You've been driving for 10 minutes? Just from here to Taco Bell? >> Yeah. It completely stopped after 5 minutes. And so >> How far How far do you think you are from Taco Bell? >> About 7 minutes exactly. Like precisely. >> Okay. Um, I got there from like it and then my car started making like horrible engine noises. >> Okay. >> Um, and then completely died. >> Okay. >> And so I tried to turn it off, turn it back on. >> Uhhuh. >> Nothing working. >> Okay. Um, do you mind if I talk to my partner real quick? No, I don't mind at all there for you real quick. >> Just give me one second. Uh she needs some 53 tests. Um I just figured Willis has been here for 14 hours. That makes sense. >> Um so uh >> I'm happy to talk with her. >> Yeah, it will be obvious. >> Um so why don't you talk with Kay? >> What's her name is what? >> Kaylee said she's been sitting here for about 20 minutes and she drove here from Taco Bell. >> Oh, and what Kayie, what happened to your tire? Uh I've been having problems with it and then it completely left out. Um, I had hit a curb about two days ago. >> You hit a curb two days ago. >> Yeah. And then, um, I didn't think anything of it. I just thought it was completely fine. >> Okay. >> Um, clearly it was not okay. >> Yeah. >> Um, and so I just like thought it would totally fine. I didn't realize it was completely flat >> as it is now. I like inspected it. I thought I could get home on it. I was incorrect. You see this? >> Um it looks like you may have hit something. >> Okay. So I have had a um interaction with another participant about a day and a half ago I would say. >> Oh okay. >> Um which was filed under insurance as well as there was a >> police report. >> Yeah there was a police report in it. >> Um >> who which police department investigated? >> Um our nearest one. I don't I would believe it was Kfax. But I don't I cannot precisely recall what one it was, but there was a police like report filed on it um for insurance purposes. >> Um and so then that was >> Were you the driver during that incident? >> Yes, I was. Um and that had already been >> reported. >> Reported. >> Um and then after that, um I had hit a curb. I will go down. I had her curb like turning the corner um and hit the um Ryson like like front corner that I was like >> where did you hit the same time? >> Where did you hit the curb? >> Um >> I would say just around the corner like right here. I can't give you the I wish I knew the exact location. I don't. >> Is she going to need a tow? >> Do you have a preference on who you would like to tow your vehicle? Um, if I could get my insurance information, I could give you that. Is that okay? If if if not get out of the road. >> Yeah, we got to get it out of the road. >> The nearest one is totally okay. >> Um, that's the most preference for you guys. Um, but I've been having troubles with it since then. Um, and I didn't really think anything of it. I thought it was just, you know, >> Okay. >> the tire information. >> So, Kaylee, you were coming from where today? Um, I was coming from Taco Bell, but the original location would be from uh Northeast Colorado Street. >> Okay. >> Uh, with a friend. I was DDing. Like I was the DD home. >> You're the DD home. Okay. >> So, the nearest location from Northeast Colorado, which >> What's your address here in town? And then homeman Washington. >> What hall do you live in? >> 405. I'm like I'm an apartment so not a hall. >> Oh, 405. >> 405. >> Yes. >> What apartment complex is that? >> University Crossing. >> University Crossing. Sorry. >> No, it's totally fine. >> Okay. Um, so K. How much alcohol did you consume after your vehicle stopped in the road? I have not drank anything tonight after I consumed Well, I haven't consumed anything since the time I got in the car. >> Okay. >> Um >> All right. And how much did you consume before you got in the car? >> Nothing at all. >> Nothing? >> No. >> How about in the last 24 hours? >> Um in the last 24 hours, maybe about one drink. >> One drink. >> I consumed one alcoholic beverage. >> What type of drink was that? >> Just a selzer. >> A selzer? Yeah. >> Okay. Um, do you take any medications or drugs? >> I um take like a uh anxiety medication. >> What type of medication is that? >> Um, oh gosh, it's going to work. Do you remember? >> Um, I'm not sure the exact name. >> It's just like one medication for anxiety. >> Um, I could look it up for you if you need it. Um, I have it on my account. >> Um, okay. It's through Washington State. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Um well, could I take a look at your eyes? >> Yeah, of course. >> Do you wear contacts at all? >> I wear contacts. >> Are they hard or soft contacts? >> Soft. >> Soft. Okay. And do you um have anything wrong with your eyes? >> As in >> like anything? Um, I am a I have like a I don't know what you call it like a um I have a prescription for um like being not ob or like blind to um driving in the dark. I don't know what it's called. Um >> Okay. So, you have a prescription um so that you can see. >> Yes. >> Um but you can see with contacts in, right? Okay. >> All right. Um, so can you stand with your heels and toes together? Arms down at your sides like this. >> And I want you to look at this blue tip of my pen. Can you see that? >> Yes, ma'am. >> I want you the top one. >> Oh, okay. >> I want you to keep your head completely still and follow this with your eyes alone. Do you understand? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. >> Oh, I'm so sorry. Okay. Okay. I had no contact and I understand that your eyes can get real dry while doing this. So, go ahead and blink. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. You're welcome. Okay. It's wonderful. >> I completely still fall just your eyes. Do you understand? >> Yes, ma'am. All right. So, um, do you have anything physically wrong with you at all? Like any physical disabilities or injuries or anything like that? >> No, other than anxiety. Nothing. >> Nothing. Okay. Um, well, so I'd like for you to do the walking turn test if you're willing to give it a try. >> Yeah, of course. >> Um, so I'm going to have you stand actually where you were is perfectly fine. >> And so imagine Straight line on your left foot right left foot with your right foot touching your left toes. See how my feet are right there? So go ahead and stand like this. Your arms down at your side and stay in this position. Do not move this position until I tell you to. Do you understand? When I tell you to, I want you to take nine to steps. It should look like this. A demonstration. Once you take your butt on the ground with your back foot and take several small steps so you're facing the opposite direction. Then take nine more heel to toe steps again. One 2 3. While you're doing this test, I want you to make sure that you're watching your feet at all times. Make sure you count each step out loud. Loud enough so I can hear you. >> Okay. >> Keep your arms down at your side. >> And this is a continuous test. So like don't stop until you completed what I instructed you to do. >> Do you understand those instructions? >> Do you have any questions about the test? >> So go ahead and put your right foot in front of your left foot so that your right heel's touching your left toe. >> Okay. So >> so um right heel. There we go. >> Yep. Like in line. And then >> again, Kaylee, do you understand the instructions I gave you? Yes. >> All right. Go ahead and begin. >> Two. Three. 6 7 8 9 10. Do you want more? >> Um, so why don't you turn like I instructed you to Okay. Um, so for the next test, I want you to stand with your heels and toes together, arms down at your sides. And again, don't start anything or do anything until I tell you to. Do you understand? >> Yes, ma'am. >> This time when I tell you to, I want you to raise a foot of your choice up off the ground 6 in. You're going to point your toe down so that it's parallel with the ground. So your foot's parallel with the ground. Keep both your legs straight. Keep your arms down your sides. And you're going to look at your raised foot like this. 1 10 1 2 1 100 1 3 and so on until I tell you to stop. >> Do you understand those instructs? Okay. Just >> go ahead. Welcome. >> All right, go ahead and start. >> 1,001. >> Look at your foot. 100,00 1 1002 1001 100 1 2 1 100 1 So sorry 1001 100 1 2 1 100 1 2 Okay, you can stop. I don't >> you want to talk to you real quick? >> Yeah. >> Uh Kaylee, uh I see that there's a a Colorado identification in your car and it looks like it has your information. >> Is that in the center console there? >> I'm not sure. >> Okay. Well, would it be okay if I went in your car and grabbed it so I could show it to you? I would prefer there to be a like a a reason. >> So, I'm guessing it's a fake ID and you're not allowed to have that. And so, it's my job to make sure that you're not supposed to have it. >> Um, it it's up to you. It is voluntary, but can I go in and just grab it and I can see it there and not blind? >> I would reason for it to like Yeah. searching. >> Okay. Do you want me to get it? >> I mean, >> can you get it? >> I I can grab whatever's in console. >> Would you be willing to grab um the ID and your receipt from Taco Bell? >> My receipt would be on my phone. >> Oh, okay. Just because it is it was I paid for it with like a >> Would you be willing to grab that ID? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> You stay right there. >> Don't Don't walk on the other side. It's dangerous over there. Sorry. >> We just don't We want you to be safe. I see it right there. That's your That's your >> I'm grabbing both. >> Oh, thank you. >> I will. >> No, it's fine. >> It's okay. I will I will phone. That is not a real lighting. >> Yeah. Yeah, I figure that's not it's not the real one. Why don't >> I know if you want my >> Can you grab your phone? >> Thank you. >> All right, come on out. Doesn't matter at all. I have my real one as well. >> Can you show me you made? >> Yeah, of course. >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Did Did you say something about door dashing? I do door dash. >> Okay. Is that why you Is that what you're doing today? >> That's what I was. >> Why were you Why were you doing it so early in the morning? People need food this morning. >> No. No. I don't Door dash for money. I door dash for the money. Um >> Were you doing that today? Like right now? Okay. Gotcha. Gotcha. I see a lot of food bags in there. >> I haven't door dash for money uh since yesterday. I have my if you need. >> Was the Jack in the Box for you that's in there? Jack in the box was not it was during a door dash but I canceled it. Um I have both of the money. Um >> yeah your last receipt that would be awesome. >> Let me see if I can. Okay, that would be great if it would work. Can you check and see? She said that she was in a crash. >> Yeah. >> Oh, okay. >> Um, that was uh Oh, yesterday in KFax. It was uh I had a uh Kfax if you guys >> Okay. Yeah, I'll look it up. >> I had an ID for um a during six. Not. Um, it would be six, I believe. 26. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. >> That would be the ID on that. Um, >> Oh, so it was a trooper. Okay. >> Yes. Um, this is my last like identification. Oh, sorry. I was like, >> so the last uh was McDonald's. >> Yes, we are. >> So, where were you coming from just now? >> I was coming from like door dashing. >> Oh, okay. >> And then I had to like >> stop the ID on it. Where's that purchase? Can you show me that purchase? >> Yes, ma'am. Um, I'll try that. Hold it up. >> I'm sorry. >> It is chilly out here. Show 11:00 a.m. It's 1:30 a.m. Okay. So, how long have you been out here for? >> Um, about April 2nd. Uh, 4 hours. So, you've been sitting here for 4 hours? >> No. Um, I was parked at the Jackie Hawks and I contacted one of my friends. >> Okay. >> And she was going to come get me cuz my car was making noises, but she never ended up showing up. >> Oh, can you show me the call in which she contacted your friend? >> Yeah, I'll try to find it. Um, I I ended up texting her at 5:56. >> Oh, yeah. Can I see that text? >> Okay, that's my call center. And is that right before you left? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And then um she didn't contact me, so I ended up trying to drive back, but it didn't work. >> Um >> and then my car ended up making noises. I didn't know what to do. >> Okay. So that that occurred before you drove, of course. >> Yeah. So I have to let you know it was not safe for you to drive. So right now you're under arrest for DUI. If you tow it there, you're going to have to tow it again to go to a shop because it you broke your whole tie rod off. Well, also they need cash upon delivery if it's anywhere but the yard. >> Okay. So, we'll have it towed towed to the the tow lot. Okay. And I'll give you I'll give you the paperwork when it gets >> as long as the paper's fine. I'll I'll do a tow. >> All right. So, um you're going to stay with the car. Can we be briefing? >> Sure. She was in control. It was on like may have been in park but >> tired of being off. >> Yeah. So I didn't see the other side when I got there. I thought she just had it parked nicely and then >> then I heard her speak and I was like oh you can't. >> Yeah. You can pull a very very apparent curb. >> One one here and then one further down. They're very clear because of the rain. You can tell. >> Oh yeah. >> I got pictures of the car and those blood over here. >> Thank you. I appreciate it. >> Of course. >> Thank you. I appreciate it. >> An easy one. >> Yes, it was. >> But sometimes I need one of those, you know. I left it upstairs. All right. So, when you get out, watch your head as you get out. Look, I'm kind of cold, so like I'm like chattering right now. You're fine. There we go. See if I have one. >> There we go. >> So, I know that I read you your constitutional rights here. Yes, ma'am. >> But I'm going to read them to you again just so we're on the same page. >> Um, you have the right to remain silent. You have the right at this time to an attorney. This is a list of items that we have in here that will be returned to you. >> Okay. Um just the signature right here then. It's um change over shift changeover. So they usually talk about um what needs to be done and >> yeah sometimes it gets a little louder than that. >> That's okay. Um, will I be held in overnight or? >> No. So, I checked your criminal history and saw that you've not been arrested for DUI before. >> Yeah. >> And so, I don't have to book you. So, as long as you promised to show up to court, I'm able to release you. >> Okay. That's great. Thank you. >> Yeah, that's what I was they called me. I just I never really hope >> Keep your hand away from your face. So, why don't you sit on your hands again? >> Yeah. Thank you. Okay. >> I've never been in trouble before. So, this is like >> it's stressful. >> Really stressful and like I'm sorry. My parents are like like very very part of me and it like just expect a lot out of me and like that's how it's been my whole life. So that's why this is like >> Is there somebody in your family that you can tell things to that's a little bit more supportive? >> Live cry. >> No, no, no, no. I'm not trying to make you upset. I just So what I would encourage you to do is talk with somebody. Good job. You're doing a good job. Okay. >> I'm sorry. Um, if you have a trusted adult that is a good support for you, tell them what's going on, okay? So that they can help support you through this cuz you are you're an adult. I know you, but >> it's nice to have somebody that has a few more years on them um that can help give you some guidance and make things >> Yeah. >> Okay. Cuz this is not the end of the world by any means. Okay. >> I know that things could be a lot worse, so I'm sorry I'm crying. >> No, you're okay. >> Um um like I said, things can be a lot worse. This isn't the end of the world. >> Um and then you have like the opportunity to reach out through Zoo. >> Yeah. Oh. Um do do you have a counselor? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you like your counselor? >> A little. >> Oh my goodness. Go shopping. Get another counselor. >> Yeah, get one and talk about it. >> Yeah, >> cuz I will tell you, it takes it's like dating. It takes a few I know it's a weird analogy, but you don't you're not going to necessarily end up with the first one that you go to. End up with the first one for sure. >> So, >> um, like I said, I've never Oh, I'm so sorry. >> You're okay. >> I've never been in trouble my whole life before. So, this is what it's like. This is like shocking to me. Um, hold on. I'm so sorry. >> It's okay. >> My parents are like very hard with me about everything. So, like telling them I'm so sorry. Um, telling them be really hard. Well, and I'm Okay, so Kayie, I'm usually not a proponent of hiding things from your parents >> cuz it never works out. >> No. >> But if you have a relationship where they're constantly on you and it's really hard, >> telling somebody else >> first. >> Definitely. >> I really appreciate that cuz >> is is my parents don't have a good relationship, >> right? And >> we don't really like >> talk. >> Yeah. Okay. And so then that they may not be the people to tell. >> Um and I just say that because it needs to be somebody that's going to support you. Okay. >> Yeah. And I have a best friend who is going through a lot right now like just with her own problems too. But um >> well >> I really appreciate >> I would encourage it be somebody that has experienced more years in life. >> Yeah. And I'm I'm really young like and I know that and I'm so sorry. I know I have a lot like I'm so sorry again. I know I have a lot of life left of me. This is like the end. >> This does not define me at all. >> No, no, no, it does not. >> I'm so sorry. I'm trying to breathe. Um, but my whole life growing up, this has become like the defining factor and um this has really been the first time I'm by myself. >> Okay. Uh, >> what year are you in school? >> I know. I'm still like I still have so much time and so much like experience to learn. >> Are you a sophomore or junior? >> I'm a sophomore. >> Okay. >> Um, and I transferred. >> Oh wow. >> So that's why it's like it's a lot different for me and I transferred from like a really really small school. >> Where'd you go before? >> At Pacific. >> Oh yeah, I got >> Yeah. And I played softball for a year. >> Oh, you did? >> That's awesome. Um, >> do you know how many uh high school athletes go on to play college sports? >> Like 20%. >> Not Not even that. It's a really small percentage. >> Yeah. And so like I so sorry really dramatic. Um, but like that's why it was really hard for me was like my parents just respected a lot from me and like I feel like Oh my gosh. I'm sorry. >> I'm sorry. You're You're okay. >> Um, I feel like in its way it's just like letting down like Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. So Kaylee, let's let's change subjects and talk about happy things, okay? >> Yeah. >> Because I >> thank you >> guarantee you that there are bigger mess ups in this world. >> Okay. >> Um I'm really proud of myself for like experience that I have like like being able to overcome the change. Mhm. >> Um, >> and like accepting the difference of like I came from something so small and like making something bigger of myself >> because I never thought I would. Um, I'm also really proud of myself for coming from a really small team. I'm so sorry that No, is like >> a small Is it a B school or an A school? >> Um, it's a 2A. >> It's a 2A. Sorry. Like it's been a while since I played high school sports. >> If I can hype myself up, I will. Um, >> but it's just it is a small school. >> That was like I was able to make a name for myself senior year and like get put in like newspapers. That's awesome. >> That's like I'm really proud of myself. >> It's definitely something. >> I'm so sorry that I >> What position did you play? >> I was a pitcher in her first basement. >> Holy moly. >> Yeah. >> So you you saw a lot of action. >> Yeah. I was like really able to active. Um, and that's one thing I am really grateful for about Wazu is like um I've gotten to play inter mural which has been great. Um, and I've gotten the opportunity to like be a part of something >> um which I'm very very grateful for and like that has helped me a lot like transitioning out of like this period of being you know like kind of like >> Yeah. So, >> yeah, >> I was an athlete in college and I went to college thinking I was going to play two sports. >> Yeah. >> And um ending that other sport um was really hard because that was the sport that I put all my effort and time into. >> Yeah. >> And when I quit that, it was like it was almost like a death. >> Yeah. And that's I 100% can like feel you on that. Like I played three sports growing up and I was really devoted to all three. >> Yeah. >> Um and then I hit my sophomore year and that's when I like was like, "No, I want to play softball." Like I want to commit to that cuz that's what I want to play in college. >> Um >> and you did it. >> Yeah. And I did it. But I'm so sorry again for me being like >> leaving cuz again I I did play college sports. Um, leaving the team atmosphere in college is also hard. Like, um, that's a hard adjustment to go through. So, >> can I ask you what was like your best thing you learned out of like >> out of >> I'm so sorry. >> No, no, no. You're you're fine. So, >> what was your best thing you learned like out of doing that? Like what was something that you took for like I'm sorry like you took for a lifetime? So, um, one of the things like I'm not super tall if you haven't noticed. Um, and I I was into tall people's sports. So, >> um, I played volleyball and I was a thrower. And throwers also tend to do better if they're taller. >> Um, in fact, I'll never forget the first day um, I was um, doing like activities with the athletic department. One of the throwers walked up to us and was like, "Um, are you a soccer player?" >> Like, "No." >> Yeah. Um, so really what I had to do is I had to work hard to be able to play and throw at those levels >> and just be diligent in my sport. And I was never a superstar in college. Um but um it was the work ethic that I was able to kind of um refine that I've carried through into my career. Um and and I think that that's one of the things that I really am glad that I learned how to buckle down and get things done. So, >> I appreciate that a lot because like >> I want to go into um forensic psychology. >> Um I'm so sorry. >> Hand away from your face. >> Oh, I'm so sorry for me like sitting here. >> I know that it happens. It it happens. Um yeah, I want to go into forensic psychology and that's like um and so like I very much am like passionate about you know that like field and like that work. >> Um >> so I really like I appreciate you you know talking about that because like a lot of people don't hear about that or anything. So, so I am inputting information. >> Um, is there something you want to do with your forensic psychology degree? um kind of right now I'm like in the middle. Um I really love forensic psychology and I would love to be like a family psychologist. Um but I also like I love the idea of child like early onset childhood psychology. >> Um my aunt is one of my best friends. She adopted four kids because she couldn't have kids. >> Um and so she's like one of my biggest like inspirations. Um, and so she adopted them all and like I love seeing like that development. >> Yeah. >> Um, so I love the idea of being able to work with like kids who haven't got the opportunity to have like parents who are there. >> Um, and like for me that's a really really big deal. Just like parents who are not able to be there for their kids. >> Um, I would love to participate in that. >> Yep. Thank you. Sorry. >> Um, yeah. So, I'd love to be able to like be able to participate and be a part of um kids who don't have that opportunity to be with their biological parents or parents in general. >> That's phenomenal. That's really good. >> That's like one of my goals. >> But yeah, >> now it sounds like your aunt is one of your best friends. >> Yeah. >> Maybe she would be a good person to talk to about this. >> Yeah, for sure. Well, I also have a one of my best friends has gone through a similar situation. Um, and she's going through her own life things like really bad right now. So, I'm trying to be there for her, too. Um, but she has like an older sister who is like a really really good um nurse to reach out to. But I probably will also just talk to parents. >> Yeah. like >> um but with a support person is what I'm thinking. >> Oh, for sure. Yeah. I'm just like not super close with my parents. I'm not um I wish I was but um not unfortunately. So sorry for crying. I like feel so bad. Like I feel so horrible. Um, yeah. I probably will just also reach out to them for five tips just cuz, you know, I'm so sorry. >> Don't be sorry. If there's any consolation, I was just sbing on the phone a few times this past week. So, >> yeah. No, I just like this past year a lot and like everything that could go wrong like happens. >> It's super hard. >> That was hard. >> It's okay. >> So, I just I'm always kind of the type of person that just puts it off. >> So, Kate, I'm going to have you move over here, but keep your hands down. So, like you can um just scoot your chair, but don't fall. No, you're um whatever you need. So, it's this is very sensitive and if it senses alcohol in the air, then >> it doesn't cooperate. >> Um, I am going to give you instructions on how to do this. >> Um, so when I tell you to, I'm going to have you stand up the entire time. Keep your hands like >> behind my back. >> Behind your back or in your pockets, um, but down away from your face. I'll tell you to take a deep breath and then I want you to seal your lips around here. >> Okay? >> And um basically let out about a 10second breath. >> And then you'll do that twice. So um just keep your hands away from your face. And I'll have you go ahead and stand up. Sorry, this was your side. Okay. Take a deep breath and go. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Almost there. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. And stop. Okay, you can have a seat. Um, so that that's exactly what you're supposed to do. Um um we'll hopefully have cooperation and it will Oh, I can't answer. >> Oh, I'm so sorry. >> I I saw what you're doing, but I just >> I know. I know. I know you're I'm so sorry. Post number. It it goes through its internal things. It does not tell me any results until it turns out. >> I just I'm just, you know, emotional. >> It's okay. Like I said, >> I'm so sorry. >> Katie, don't be sorry when I tell you that I was sobbing on the phone a few times in the past week. I legitimately was. >> And I know it's not the end of the world. Like a lot of people go through a lot worse, but >> it's just it just like >> it sucks. >> Yeah. And like I'm just, you know, frustrated with myself, but that's okay. It happens. It's we're just like I know I have to tell my parents about it. >> Well, so are you are you a Bernice Brown fan? >> Uhhuh. >> Are you a Bnee Brown fan? >> A little bit. >> So shame researcher, right? And what's one of the worst things that you can do for yourself? >> It's shame, right? >> Oh yeah. >> Shame does not help you. >> I know. >> So don't shame yourself. Okay. >> And I told them I don't know. I'm so emotional, but I'm so sorry again. I feel like I feel like I'm so overly emotional and it's not like that. Um, and it's just like I'm not on the best I wish I was with them like but um so that like kind of is unfortunate. Um >> yeah, >> so that doesn't really feel creepy. um just like in general like I wish you know I was on great terms with that. >> Yeah. >> But growing up that's never happened >> and and I don't I don't know the history. I don't know why things are the way they are. >> Excuse me. >> But that could change. You never know. >> Yeah. But I always feel like they love me. It's okay. Um >> and some people I will tell you some people do a real bad job at showing their love. Um, and >> yeah, and that's like I feel like I've definitely grown up with that in my life. And like for me that's, you know, like it is what it is. I've kind of had to deal with it. So that's why like that's why I did this. I'm kind of just like it's okay. Like everything will work out. It'll be okay. I can't stress this. >> Oh well, you can tell yourself all day long, don't stress, right? I can say chill out. That does not work. I'm like sitting here trying to breathe, but it's not working, you know. Um, but I still like it. I have them for a reason, you know. But >> go ahead and stand up. Okay. And I'll keep have you keep your hands away from your face. Take a deep breath and go. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Almost there. Keep going. And stop. And then I'll have you keep your hands away from your face. Um but you can have a seat. >> Okay. >> So, um but yeah, like again, it's not going to help if you chill out. >> Yeah. >> But it doesn't help for anybody to be like, >> right, >> chill out cuz that's helped no one ever. >> Yeah. And I know friends that are in worse positions than me. You know, they have, you know, health like concerns to deal with. And >> but it doesn't mean >> that's not me. But >> it doesn't mean that you can't be like this sucks. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. So, >> and I do know better. So, that's autism, which I'll >> You're moving into you're moving into the realm of shame. Okay. >> You're moving into the realm of shame. And that that's not going to help you. >> Okay. I'm sorry. I feel so bad for like just like needing to breathe, but like I feel awful not being like keep together. Um >> Oh, if if it's any constellation of the realm, like the scale of keeping it together, people that I've had in here, you are on the upper end of keeping it together. >> Cuz I know like things can be a whole lot worse than this. Yeah. >> And I've had friends that are in a lot worse who have been, you know, you know, dealing with >> drinking and driving and killing people. And that's awful. >> That's horrible. >> Horrible. That's hard to recover. >> The worst type of guilt in your entire life. And >> I know people have had to deal with that. And this has like you're okay, you know? Um, but yeah, like it's okay. Like I'm just trying to tell myself like everything's okay. You always have, you know, an option right now. >> You You do have a lot of options. >> Yeah. Of course. Um, but it's still just like weird. Like I said, I've never been in trouble. So that's why it's like really >> That's why it gives you more options. >> Yeah. That's why it's like really like heavy cuz it's like I've never had to deal with anything ever and I'm like scared. >> So you can relax your arms. >> Um you can touch your face all you want. >> No, no. Like legit, Kaye, you don't have to keep your hands away from your face. And I'll do you even one better. Here's you. I didn't offer to you I did not offer it to you sooner because I did not want to encourage you to touch your face. >> Thank you so much. I'm probably Okay. So, I have to go through the results with you. >> Yeah, of course. >> So, Kaylee, um, you had a result of a 236, >> a 235, a 234, and a 233. >> Yes, ma'am. >> So, you were um close to three times the legal limit. >> Okay. Um, so I am going to give you a copy of your results. >> Okay. >> Um, and then I will be back with some paperwork for you. I have to fill it out and that's >> I have to use the computer to do so. >> Um, can I ask like do I need someone to pick me up then? Is that right? >> You are going to need somebody to come. >> Okay. Yeah. Um I don't know like an appropriate like appropriate time to contact it would be I only have one friend that drives here. My other friend, she doesn't drive. >> So call your friend and give her I I'll help you give her a number that she can >> call and leave her phone number at and when you're getting ready to be released, >> they will give her a call. >> Okay, perfect. cuz you're going to have to get to uh Oh, wait. Today's Wednesday. >> Today's Wednesday. >> Yeah, today's Wednesday. You're going to have to get to Kfax today. >> Okay, that's totally fine. >> And you're you're not going to be able to drive by the time you need it. >> Yeah. So, my friend can take me. >> Okay. >> Um no problem with that. >> Let me get a hold of her. Is it okay if I call her? >> Yeah. >> Okay. She's kind of having her old dilemma right now, but I'll I'll get a hold of her. >> We may have to call you twice cuz she's probably not disturbed. >> Um, the other thing is if you want to give me her number. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Um, we can call her. >> Is that Is that okay? >> Um, here. I'll give it to you right now. >> Yeah. Um, it is uh 206 >> 206 >> 999 >> 999 >> 82 >> 32. >> And what's her name? >> Uh, Isabella. >> Okay, >> I'll call her twice, but she's probably do not disturb. >> Well, if she's sleeping, we'll just I'll call her when you're ready. >> Um, I'll just hand it back to you cuz she keeps calling her own. um for the call um or like driving the call packs. Can you give me like what has to happen? >> Yeah. So, you're going to you're going to have your arraignment today and that's the thing that um you have to promise appear to appear at for me to be able to release you. >> Um and basically between now and then you won't possess or consume alcohol or any controlled substances. Um and um and all the things spelled out. Oh, um if you need anything, >> so I would need to add your address here. Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. >> And then just pull in Washington 99163 for the area code. Okay. So, um there's two portions to a DUI. There's the criminal portion and then the civil portion, which is your driver's license is going to get suspended. >> If you want to contest the suspension of your driver's license, you need to read through this and send in money. Okay. >> Um within 7 days. Okay. >> Um so, I'm going to leave this in your paperwork. Um by signing here um you're acknowledging that you understand that the notice of your right to hearing um has been issued to you and that you're the department of licensing will contact you at the address on record which is this >> which is that. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Um the >> second it's April 2nd. >> Never mind. Fourth >> two. >> Okay. So, um I have to have you sit in a cell while I um >> That's totally fine. >> fill stuff out. Okay. >> Did you want a blanket? >> Um yeah, probably. >> Okay. Um, do I need to then like get in contact with my friend to be able to like be here to pick me up or >> I'll give her a call. >> Okay. >> Um, you can grab some extra plushies. >> Thank you. >> And I'll grab you a blanket, but you can come here. Did you want to cut for water or anything? >> It's okay. Thank you. >> Okay. I'll I'll be right back with a There you go. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. After failing multiple field sobriety tests and displaying extreme signs of impairment, the driver was arrested for DUI.
