On June 13th, 2023, Dorville police officers were called to a gas station in Dorville, Georgia about a couple arguing. >> Hey, you wrong. >> Sit down. Sit down. >> This my husband. >> Sit down. >> I know. Sit down. >> On the ground. All the way. Both of you. >> What the hell is going on? >> Cuz he keep Yes, sir. He walking off on me, making me feel. >> Yes, sir. >> Oh, I got I'm going to hold on to everything. I got you. I got you. >> He what? >> Yesterday, >> we got into a big fight. >> Okay. >> And >> you can stand up now if you want. >> I was trying to get my kids and I'm just out here crackling with this man. I love my family for you. He [crying] just made me feel like I'm here by myself and not marry him. And he just abandoned me emotionally. [laughter] And he just made me feel like I was just so alone and I'm supposed to be my husband. I trust him. If if he didn't never love me, he should have just told me the truth. When my family offered me to come home, he said, "Hey, we he believe we can work it out." He know about my mental health issues. He know about all of that. It's like [laughter and gasps] he don't want me to be happy. It's like if I'm not with him, he don't want me to be happy. >> Yeah. Grab his shoes. Grab his shoes. Grab his shoes. Grab his shoes. Grab his shoes. about this man faithfully. [laughter] >> That's my husband. >> That's fine. That's fine. So, what >> So, if y'all want to take me to jail, >> hold on. No, hold on. We got to figure everything out. Okay. We got to figure out what's going on. Okay. So, >> you want to call my [crying] mama? >> That's fine. You call her. Call her. [laughter] Okay. Are y'all legally married or y'all just together? >> Yes, we're legally married. >> Okay. All right. Do you have your ID with you? >> Yes, sir. >> Can I see it? >> It's in my book bag. Okay. >> My mama, >> can I get your ID first and then you can call her? >> Yes. >> Okay. Thank you. >> But we did get here. >> I think that's fine. That's fine. I'm I'm just trying to figure everything out. Okay. I got a call about people fighting. I got to figure out what's going on. >> He wasn't really fighting me. It was me. >> Okay. Well, let me talk to him. I got to figure everything out. Okay. >> And I hit him with the >> We'll get to that. >> That's fine, Miss Brown. Just give me a second. Okay. Give me a second. Tear not enough for you. >> Okay, that's fine. Just just breathe for a minute. What's going on, big dog? >> This time it started with nothing. >> Okay, but what happened, man? >> Started off from Dollar Tree. Yeah, >> of course. Got a tent. Trying to be cool, you know. >> Yeah. Yeah. 100%, man. >> Trying to keep it dry. >> Yeah. >> And on top of she saying, "I'm so tired of people judging me, looking at me, laughing, this, this, and that." >> Before we go any further, do you want for any of the marks you got on your body or anything? You want them to come? You want an ambulance? Come look at you or anything for all the marks on your body. >> I mean, he's a little >> But the question was, do you want an ambulance? Yes or no? >> No, sir. >> Okay. Just I gota ask cuz you got marks. I just want to clean. >> Yeah. But then, you know, it started off when I was going down in my bag. I guess she >> Uh-uh. This was at Dollar Tree. >> Dollar Tree. Okay. >> Yeah. So, you know, I'm trying to ignore the negativity cuz I told her good, you know, good things. Everything going to be okay. I got a job. You know, everything going to be okay. And I'm thinking she should feel good about that. But somehow she's still letting people face expressions get to her. So now >> when I walk off from her saying nonsense, she think I'm ignoring her and being like everybody else >> and this and this and that. And >> I'm just trying to go back to my tent humbly and get prepared for the rain. >> My biggest thing is is y'all are married. We had that conversation last time. Remember? You know me from Quick Truck, right? Yeah. >> Just making sure. Um, so what happened here? >> Well, here she walked in the doors and started whooping my ass. >> So, I pinned her down on the floor a couple of times. She got back up, humble blocking, blah blah blah. She assumed I elbowed her, which I doubted. And it's [ __ ] >> All right. Are y'all Let me ask you this. Are y'all legally married? >> We're legally married. >> Like legally? Okay. >> Legally? I'm trapped. >> Okay. Well, no, you can get a divorce. I can't even afford it. >> Um, so here's the thing. In the state of Georgia, I don't have a choice. >> I know. >> Okay. It is domestic violence. >> But here's the thing. You've got marks. I see the marks. So whether you want to prosecute or not, I don't have a choice. She's got to turn around. Okay? I'm just telling you. Okay? It's just what it is. That's what the law says. Because here's the thing. How do I know that if I if you do, well, I don't want to press charges. I don't want to do anything. And y'all walk off >> and then she try to do it again >> or she tries to stab me. >> She But but you see where I'm coming from. >> I do. >> So, like I said, >> I don't I don't have an option. Okay. So, I'm not going to lie to you. >> She's going to take a ride. Okay. >> I'm just being real with you. I'm not trying to [ __ ] you, okay? Cuz I didn't [ __ ] you the other night, right? I swear with you 100%. >> Same thing here. She's already admitted what she did to you. I told her to come out and talk to you. >> She's like, "I hate him." Blah blah blah blah blah blah. I was like, >> so I feel like I honestly know how to settle it this time, though. >> Where are y'all staying at? Where's the tent? >> It's right down the street. >> Like in the wood line? >> Kind of ducked off in the woods. I don't know. >> Just in the wood line. That's all I >> am. You have. >> Okay. Hey. Um, please don't, you know, >> let me talk. Okay. >> All right. >> Mhm. >> So, how did all this start? >> Just because he put his head between a female right by a female and I was like, I didn't like the way that looked. And then he was like, well, I apologize. >> Where'd that start at? Was it here? >> No. Dollar Tree. >> At Dollar Tree. Okay. >> I'm just I'm trying to put everything together cuz here's the thing. We got a call about two people fighting. M >> I show up, y'all are still kind of going at it. >> You right. >> And like I was telling him and like I told you before the other night, I'm 100% with people, right? >> You right. >> So in the state of Georgia with domestic violence cuz y'all are married. >> Yeah. We've been together 5 years. >> Yeah. So I'm not going to lie to you. You're going to go down to the cap county tonight. So if I can see your hands behind you back real quick, you are going to be under nervous. Okay. >> What about now? >> Hold on. I'll get there in a second. I'll get there in a second. I'll get there in a second. Hold on. I know. I know. I know. No, I know. Just Just relax. Relax and listen. >> Hold on. Relax and listen. >> Yesterday. >> Well, did you did anybody call yesterday? >> No. >> Okay. So, I can't deal with yesterday. I can deal with this moment. Okay. So, >> he pressing charges. >> Hold on. It's not him. Okay. Let me explain. I told you I explained everything to you. Okay. Just like I did the other night. >> Apologize. >> No, no, no. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. Relax, bro. Turn your wrist. Turn your wrist. Turn your wrist. Just listen. Just listen. I I understand that. I understand that. Just listen. Listen listen to listen. Stop. Stop. Stop. Just listen. Just listen. >> I won't hit him with a chance no more. >> We're going to talk for a minute. Okay. Just listen. I'll explain everything up. Don't say anything to him. It's not him. Okay? And I'm going to explain everything in a second. Okay? >> Hold on. Hold on. I've already had a conversation with him. >> I've had a conversation with him. Come on. selling buddy cuz you telling me you got those hoods. >> Come here. Come here. Come here. I'm going to explain. I'm going to explain to you. I told you just like I explained the other night at Quick Trip, right? >> My ID and stuff. Sir, can I get my pocket? >> I'm I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. Stay over there for me, please. Just come over here. >> Come over here and tell No. Hold on. Hold on. >> Just walk. Walk for me. I'm going to talk. We're going to walk. >> So, we both got into a >> I know. I know. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> Hold on. >> That was yesterday, babe. >> No. No. Hold on. Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Have a seat. Tell me those discussions from yesterday. >> Miss Brown, have a seat. >> Please, >> Miss Brown, just >> talk to the police. >> Just listen. >> Let me explain some stuff to you. Okay. >> Okay. >> You remember when I talked to you and I was honest with you from the rip at Quick Trip, right, the other night? Okay. >> Yes, your husband has marks. Now, hold on. Let me let me finish talking. Just let me talk. >> Yes, he has marks from yesterday. I can tell. >> But there are marks on him from today, >> which just occurred in here because the blood is still fresh. Okay. I know the blood's fresh because I can see that the marks are recent. Like real recent. Okay. >> Scratches. >> Yeah. Scratches. >> You try to rescue me, sir, and not scratch. >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Okay. Here's what I'm going to do. >> Okay. >> We've got a bigger issue occurring right now. That's why I'm separating both of you. You're detained. You're not under arrest. Okay? >> But just listen. As soon as I get another officer back over here, >> I'm going to go watch the camera and see what happened. Okay? >> And then going from there, then I'll determine who is going to go to jail. Cuz here's the thing. you say to multiple times that y'all are married, okay? In the state of Georgia, we don't have an option. Okay? Even if So, if I go in there and watch the video and you say, "I don't want to press charges on him and there's enough evidence for me to take." Hold on, hold on, hold on. And there's enough evidence for me to take him to jail, then he goes to jail. Hold on. But if there's enough evidence to prove that you committed a crime, >> then you got to go to jail. Okay? That's just that's how domestic violence works in the state of Georgia. There's nothing I can do about it. Okay? used to be in the past where we would just walk away and let y'all solve your own crap, >> right? >> Not anymore because usually when it happened in the past, people we'd find someone dead. Okay? So now the law stated if there's domestic violence, whether you live together or anything like that, >> then you someone has to take a ride. Period. Now, if down the road that other person wants to drop the charges or doesn't want to press charges, that's their legal right. Okay? But >> we got to cross that bridge. Okay? I swapped my husband with the um with some with some um chips. I kept hitting him with some chips and stuff. >> I pulled his hair. He tried to restrain me and I scratched him. >> That's okay. >> So if I do go to jail, I can understand. >> Oh, hold on. Hold on. Let me go watch the video, okay? So I can figure all this out. Okay. >> But I did start it up. >> Okay, that's fine. That's fine. >> I pulled his hair on Marshall. >> So >> Okay. The thing is I still need to watch the video. Okay. So, I'm going to figure out who because here's the thing. >> He didn't hit me, boss. >> Okay. >> You just resprayed me and tried to get me off. >> So, we're both in agreement that you started this. >> Yeah. I I I hit him >> and you put on those red marks that he's got blood from. >> Yeah. I was scratching him to keep from cuz he had me on the ground to restrain me. >> Restrain you? Okay. >> And Yeah. So, I grabbed him by his hands and stuff. >> Okay, that's fine. >> I slapped him. I throw the the the gummy bars in his face. I did that and then >> So, the reason I got you in here, I got the AC going. It's going to take a minute to get back there. I can't have you have your phone in the back of the car just cuz I don't know who you might call to come up and do things. >> I don't do stuff like that. >> I I didn't say you did. It's just It's a policy thing we have. Okay. But here's the thing. >> If you do end up going to jail, I'm taking your phone with me. I'm taking your ID with me and I'm going to get your purse as your social and we'll figure out what else. Okay. That that's that's >> Can you drop my stuff off at the police department? >> Well, hold on. We'll cross that bridge. Yeah. >> Can I keep my phone? You going to have to bring my phone when I go to jail? >> Yeah, the phone will go with you. Yeah. >> Officer, but I've been married. I've been with this man 5 years. >> I believe you. >> Give me a minute. Let me turn the air on so it cools down and let me go watch this video real quick and figure out what's going on. Okay. Cuz I've only got one officer here. Okay. >> I did start it off. >> Hold on. I I'm I'm respecting you. >> I really apologize. I'm sorry. >> Give me a minute and let me do Let me go check that. Okay. I'll be right back. Just And please don't yell. Okay. Just let's calm down. Relax in the back of the car. Talk to my husband >> in a minute. Okay. Let me go do the video thing first and then I'll let you talk to him. Okay. >> Okay. >> Thank you. Hey, what happened, man? >> I don't know. They came in and then they're fighting. >> Do you have my stuff? Yeah. Yeah. >> Can I see it? >> Yeah. All the way in the cooler. >> All the way in the cooler. >> You want me to go back? >> Yeah. Go back to him right when it starts. I need the whole thing. Like when they walk in, just let it run. >> Okay, now at 618. >> Okay, he walks in. >> They walk in >> and he was trying to get his black. >> I got it. I'm recording it on this. Christmas. I'll be back. I think this is about the time I showed up. And he just keeps taking it. He doesn't even hit her once. I mean, he pinned her to the ground, but he's just trying to get him off her. >> Yeah. >> Or get her off him, which that's his legal right. >> Mhm. >> She just keeps on whipping his ass. So, >> yeah. I think this is about the time I walk in. She admitted to throwing that candy. Do you want to press charges for any of the chips or anything? Are you good? Just I got to ask. Just >> I know. >> I'm I'm just required to ask. I just want to make sure. >> No, it is okay. >> I just want to make sure. just trespassing. No, do not come back and >> both of them. >> Yeah, both. >> Okay. I'll let them know >> and I'll do the CT later. I got to get her down to the cab. >> Okay. >> Um but I'll bring the if I'm not back, I'll set it by the door in the morning. I'll come by in the morning. I'll still be here. >> I got I got some stuff I got to do, so I'll just drop it off in the morning. Okay. I just want to get all the way up until I walk in. You're good. Just let it run. Yeah. Go ahead. Do what you need to do, man. I'll be back here for a minute. >> All right, man. I'm good. I appreciate that, man. Thank you for that. Yeah. I'll be back later. No problem, buddy. >> Thank you. Thank you. Yeah. >> Hey, Miss Brown. >> Yes, sir. >> So, I watched the video. Okay. >> Um, >> just I'm already hurry up. Just wanted to know. >> Okay. So, here's the thing. I just want to let you know you are under arrest. Okay. >> I'm just letting you know. I've got to say it. Remember I told you earlier you were detained. >> Yes, ma'am. >> So, but we're going to talk on the way over to the PD cuz I got to pick up someone else. We're going to get in a big van cuz I'm not putting another person next to you. We're We're getting in a van that has separate compartments. I It's so It's because I got to transport two people and I'm not putting someone else next to you. >> Well, can I use my phone to call my family, please? >> We'll get there in a minute. Okay. Let me Let me get you on the road. Okay. Okay. >> She was charged with battery, family violence, and taken to jail for booking. >> Like I said, um you're going to jail for the charge. Um like I explained to you already, I'm charging your phone at the moment. Um, >> I am going to ask for no violent contact from the judge, which will be a condition of your bond that you will be out. You'll be able to get out, go back to him, but that y'all can't have any violent contact. If you do, it violates your bond. You get rearrested, you go immediately to jail. There's no, oh, let's you go to jail. Okay. Um, I'm going also talk to the judge and ask him if you can sign yourself out. Basically, what it means is not to give you a bond, do an SO. um you might be able to sign yourself out of jail. Okay. >> Okay. Thank you, sir. >> But that's because our first interaction that we had the other day was cool, common, collected, and that y'all were cool, comic, collected today. Respect gets respect, >> right? >> Y'all gave me respect. I'm going to give it right back.
