on January 6 2023 the Flagler County sheriff's deputies received a 9-1-1 call about a man rummaging through porch packages and stealing water bottles in Palm Coast Florida we just got here so um how many water bottles full that was full that was full so whatever were those part of it yeah I don't know what he did he came over and placed them and I think put the lids over there okay so I'm not sure and then this big box was up top here and then he either kicked it or pushed it over and picked up and went through the stuff he didn't doesn't look like he took anything other than the water bottle other than the water bottles yeah he said this was full enclosed that was full and closed it was missing seven so that's that's what was missing yeah yeah you didn't have permission to take any of those no and then when I saw him in the camera he was across the street and I asked him I said hey who are you what do you want and then he started to approach and I said that's it and then called 9-1-1 and came back in the house the way I can identify him is he had a Grace hooded sweatshirt on black pants sneakers um and his voice he uh what is did he tell you his name or anything he didn't say anything I said what did you want and he's like I'm just hungry apparently or something like that so Do you have a knowledge of like an extension ladder being on the side of your house or in between these two houses no there's no extension ladders all right this is a rental over here there was a family over there over the weekend but as far as extension ladders I don't know I know there's some new houses over here that they leave construction equipment for yeah I don't know if you work for them or what but you know what you said there's a family that rented us yeah I rented this weekend to my knowledge yeah it's a rental company so I'm not sure which one it would be like Picasa or one of those you know what day they left I would say over the weekends was the last time I I saw somebody over there there was like four or five cars parked out there when deputies arrived they saw him trying to go in through a second story window using a ladder that he took to a neighboring house deputies made contact with the suspect who was perched in the window the man was identified as 48-year-old Ricardo Gonzalez he said he had just returned from a walk did you call do you live here okay any chance you were out here a little bit ago [Applause] okay it's all right if you come down I can talk to you Alpha two 12 [ __ ] I'll be out there next House South to mail got a ladder out the window claiming this is his daughter's house said he just took a walk do you have any idea with you I still what's that I got upstairs okay all right you got no weapons on your own is it okay if my neighbor's property no sir no someone came out and said something and I told him who I was the king and you know I was like not and that was it two seconds was there any chance did you see anybody else out here no surgeon not a big deal obviously okay I looked at it and whatnot what there was nobody there yeah but I didn't take it he took me and someone did say I could have it when he came out I left it alone said you're gonna have the water yes okay that's probably where someone called and it sounds like that's probably why um if it's just a misunderstanding it's no big deal well I figured this out would you mind coming over to my car you want to get with the RP I believe might have been the next one up so we'll just go right to the front it's actually warmer up here anyways the engine and what what is the number for this address what's that my daughter and what's her name how do you spell it to me and they uh Mar oh I am m-a-r-l-i-n atures be easy to you it's a little low volume but I think in here place a b-e-z-t I'm not sure how to spell her last uh marriage thing okay they as in there's more than one person what's his name Jose is that who has the Bonita's last name what's wrong no I just hope you understand to being you know it's a bread and breakfast and I was supposed to come there and whatnot stay with them reopened so I went in yada yada and here we are why the hell would you use the window because they still didn't have teeth because everyone's gone okay so why are you concerned that your daughter and her boyfriend set you up no that was what she said right for something what's the matter so you didn't have it on but he left it inside that was me I'm just hang tight for one second real quick so I don't really believe the story you're telling me is 100 truthful so why don't we start over no that's where you know what's your daughter's name where's your daughter live I don't know where are they at now okay where's she live do what where's your boyfriend live I have no idea I'm coming from okay if you're coming from Daytona okay what are you walking up here from Daytona for uh okay so you decided to sneak into a gated community and enter a not people are being truthful right I've been doing this a long time you're not being truthful about anything were you able to find him so what's your middle name for George and what's the address where Wayne New Jersey you have never had a Florida one a long time ago uh Bird Road 0. so I missed the last bit of conversation just to be clear okay I'm just trying to clarify what I got here right I got to come out I got to make sense what we got absolutely so you guys didn't have the keys you your daughter my friend so luckily we had this ladder at this bed and breakfast here made entrance through the window and in that time they decided to go get breakfast yeah okay what do they drive a Ford you know and you couldn't spell your daughter's last name would you agree this is kind of unusual oh yeah around but you got his phone number I don't know dad you get in touch with your daughter to be able to come to this bed and breakfast and how did you make those arrangements using someone else's plan so you called your daughter using someone else's phone and what number did you dial to call your daughter I'm not going to get Angry Anymore based on the story you're telling us why on Earth would we take you to jail why would someone go to jail for going to bed and breakfast with their daughter I don't know what's that ask who oh Mario who's that my brother I know that was your brother that's just the way you said it just seemed like I was supposed to know it so I just I just didn't know that so what would Mario be able to help us understand because it's the first time hearing a Mario I use a pretty reasonable questions right what's that see these are pretty reasonable questions no yeah I'm lost the words what are you thinking right now I think you know your ID and your wallet's up in the house right oh your IDs up in the house an ID card and it's in the house so when we go in the house we're gonna find your ID where is it where my book bag inside the book bag okay yeah yeah oh he said he was over there um of course when we go in there there'll be some luggage your daughter's luggage your luggage maybe her boyfriend's other my book bag a few things that I had and that's it and their stuff should be in there too I'm guessing no why wouldn't their stuff be in there if they're staying here for the weekend or something I just feel like if I went with three people the other two people would have some things thank you getting bored of this yeah I understand they went to get breakfast where they go to get breakfast that they have no keys to they have nothing to do you said she read it right now that's what you told us on camera and she rented the place for you Gonzalez was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary of a dwelling criminal mischief petty theft and transported to Flagler County Jail where'd you get the ladder uh you don't know directly so no one else a favor said there should be no one here
