on January 8 2023 a Brookhaven police officer stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation in Atlanta Georgia the officer asked the driver if she had been drinking to which the driver replied yes but just one shot she was asked to participate in standardized field sobriety tests but we just dropped a little device how's it going I'm clean what's this okay I'm off the hill likewise you heading home yeah where is it coming from like my friends okay they're good you had anything to drink tonight yeah you said just born okay about how long ago was that he said about two minutes ago yeah I got when you get to nine keep your lead foot planted you're gonna make a series of small steps taking nine here to toe steps back looking like so one two three so on and so forth till you get tonight understand all right yeah I'm gonna explain two again so again those instructions you're gonna take a series of nine here to toe steps well not just yet just get back in position all right you're gonna take a series of nine Heel To Toe steps out when you get to the ninth step keep your lead foot planted you're gonna make a series of small steps taking nine here the toe steps back you understand okay why are you doing the test what you do You're Gonna Keep Your Hands On By Your Side look at your feet and count your steps out loud as you as you take them and once you start the test don't stop until you finish the test all right you may begin beautiful foreign as you were as you were instructed you have to turn around and take nine heal the toe steps back keep your lead foot planted you believe you're done yeah okay all right so for this next test I want you to do stand your feet together hands down by your side I want you to stay in this position until I tell you to begin okay okay so for this next test I'm gonna demonstrate it again and then I'll let you on it again so with the foot of your choosing you're going to elevate it approximately six inches off the ground like so keeping that foot parallel with the ground not just here yeah yeah you just stay in that position keeping your foot elevated you're gonna look at your elevated foot kind of out loud 1001 1002 1003 so on and so forth until I tell you to stop you understand okay so again those instructions with the foot of your choosing you're gonna raise it approximately six inches off the ground
