I saw her just reaching out. She started to run in the kitchen. I stopped her from the back in the kitchen. She turned around. She punched me in the nose. >> We have several witnesses that corroborated their story. [music] All right. >> A woman walks into a pizza place just trying to order food. She claims she placed her bag on the counter and was suddenly accused of stealing. literally I just walked in here to buy pizza. Don't worry. She dropped my wallet. All right. So, hold on a second. >> Sir, I don't know why. All right. I'm out of the business. All right. >> Okay. Thank you. Because they literally locked me inside. I'm sweating. I'm literally sweating. >> All right. >> Sir, I literally >> Come over here. Have a seat. >> All right. >> Sir, >> come over here and sit down in this chair. >> Have a seat. Why are you holding me down like that? >> Sit down. All right. I'm not doing what we're asking. >> Sir, I'm shaking. I came here to order a pizza and you're saying I stole money. >> That's fine. We're going to find out what's going on. Okay. >> I literally just >> Okay. >> I came to order pizza. Rachel. >> Rachel. >> Yeah. >> According to her, two men started hitting her and she felt trapped inside the store. But the other side of the story tells a very different tale. >> All right. I'm >> They just locked me in here. I don't understand how all that just happened. >> Let's take the level down a little bit. >> I can't. >> We're here now. Everybody's safe. They just said cash. They're saying they're missing money and I literally went up to the counter to buy a pizza for my friend's car. >> Tell me what happened. >> I came in here to order a pizza and they started attacking me. Two grown guys started punching me. I don't understand. And I tried to leave and they're saying like I don't know what they're saying. >> Okay, but we'll be in a second. We'll be in a second. >> Why do we think this all transpired? >> Dude, I literally was trying to pay for a pizza at the counter. I put my bag on the counter and they said that they're missing money. >> Okay, these these are both >> Those are all my bags. You could search them all like that. I don't know what just happened, but that's not fair. I literally just walked here to order pizza. >> Okay, let me talk to them, figure out what's going on here. All right, you just >> They have cameras in there and you could just see what just happened. I just got attacked. I'm sweating. >> Okay. All right. Let me find out what's going on and I'll be right back with you. All right. >> That's insane. >> The man who called the police says he left his wallet on the counter when he went to the bathroom. When he returned, the money over $600 was gone. He says he saw the woman standing by the wallet, placing her bag on top of it and reaching inside. >> How you doing? >> All right. Hey, how are you? >> I I sat down. I set my wallet there. I went to the bathroom. I came back. But I have money to over $500 and I came. She was standing next to him. It's empty. He saw her take it out. >> And I was sitting out here and I saw she put a bag on her on a wallet and she start to pull out stuff. And I thought it was a wallet. That's why I didn't say anything. But then you came out of the bathroom and say, "That's my wallet. Where is the money?" I said, "Oh, man. I saw her getting stuff out of." >> Okay. So, you're the manager here. >> I'm the only one. Yeah. >> Oh, you're the only one. So, >> you got it on the >> And then we just You saw everything that transpired. >> You saw everything that transpired. >> Yeah. Yeah. Come on. >> Okay. All right. So, just tell me what happened from the beginning. She came in here. >> She came in. She said, "Okay, pizza." >> Okay. >> She went by the register and he was sitting there. So, he left his wallet to go to the bathroom. >> Okay. So she came, she put her bag on top of the wallet and she stopped to I thought she I thought she was taking her money to build. I didn't know it exist and that's it. Then he came back from the bathroom and he's like where is the money was inside his wallet 6 >> and I say I I saw her just reaching out and that's it. So then she started to run to go out and we just go said just like how the police and she start to scream you guys are beating me up. I said no. She started to run in the kitchen. I stopped her from the back of your kitchen. She turned around. She punched me in the nose. >> Okay. >> So, >> so you were you were at the you were at the counter room. >> I was sitting at the very end thing and I ordered lunch and I and I went ran to the bathroom and you shoot me up there do a takeout order. I came back and my wallet was safe and >> Okay. And you you had your you had your wallet on that? >> I left my wallet my phone sitting there. >> Just not realizing that. >> Yeah. But anyway, I mean I know these people. I know the places that I'm know everybody here. But she has 600 700 bucks probably at least. I don't know. At least >> Did she take the money out of the wallet? You have a physical wallet with a cliff on it. >> She pulled it out. >> What does the wall look like? >> Okay. So, the wall was just sitting there like that >> with the money. >> The like there and the phone. >> Yeah. If you just bag which which bag did you see had she had on top? >> It was the blue one. >> Okay. you know, the denominations of the money that were in the >> at least $500 bills and then 20s and change and stuff. It's Christmas time. I thought somebody gave me 200 bucks the other day gift. I had 300 shop. So, it's at least $500 bills. >> At least $500 bill >> and then I'd say it's $600 700 bucks anyway. >> Okay. >> You were gone just odd. We'd like to >> Did you see her physically take that money off the clip? >> On the phone with my girlfriend inviting Mario. >> So, you saw her physically take the money out of She was just going inside the wallet. I thought she was just trying to pull out her, but that's it. >> She was talking to Tanag that she put on top of the wallet. >> Yeah, I thought it was a jack, but I probably wasn't. He might have stuck that down her pants back with like string. >> Might want to take a look. >> Police listen to both sides. Multiple witnesses say the woman took the money. The officer tells her she has two options. Return the cash and be banned from the store or get arrested and face charges. She denies everything and asks them to search her bags. >> Listen, listen. Relax. Relax. Okay. >> I went to order pizza. >> How old are you? >> How old am I? 29. >> Okay. Somebody It was a You were a juvenile. >> I'm not a juvenile. >> Listen, >> sir. I'm sorry, but this is literally what happened. I was trying to order a pizza and all of this happened and he literally hit me. >> Okay. >> I have several witnesses in there, all right, that are here to corroborate. Listen. >> Oh my god. Just relax. All I have are my bags. >> You're relax. >> No, I'm not going to relax. I got hit by a grown ass man. >> Okay, >> we have several witnesses that corroborated their story. All right. Several customers that are independent witnesses of the incident. >> I just walked in. Hear me out. I literally just walked in. I don't know. There is no incident. >> There's two ways that this can go. >> Number one, it can go where he presses charges and you get locked up. >> Because I went to order a pizza. >> Listen, you're you're not listening. You're doing a lot of talking and you're not listening. There's two ways this can go. Like I said, we have independent witnesses that corroborated their story. >> This is not what we're gonna do is in a minute, I'm gonna place you in handcuffs and we can go down that route to you going to jail. The second route we can take here is we can get the guy his money back and >> what money? I only have my >> We can get the guy his money back and he's going to decline to prosecute and you're going to leave here and just be trespass warrant to not come back. Those are the two options we have. >> You choose. Sir, can you search my stuff? I put my bags on the counter. >> Okay, this is the uh blue bag. >> That's all I have. >> Okay, >> this isn't there. I'm sorry, but that's not who you are. >> I'm here in town on the street, man. >> Like, >> it's not legal. >> I literally came here to order pizza and this happened. Officers moved forward with the arrest. She asked to call her lawyer, but her phone was taken away as part of standard procedure. >> All right, sounds good. >> Please not. >> All right, go ahead and put your hands behind your back. >> Why, sir? Put your hands behind your back. Sir, can you please explain to me like why happening? Leave. >> The other officer will be here just a minute. >> Sir, why are you putting me in hand? You're under arrest. You're under arrest >> for what? >> I guess you were at Nordstrom Rack doing something something pretty similar. >> Norm, >> sit down. She'll be on the way. We'll sort all this out. We'll sort all this out. >> I was in Nordstrom Rack charging my phone. Okay. >> Well, apparently there was a theft over there also. So, there something. >> Okay. Literally. >> Now, where's this gentleman? >> 500 North Congress. 500 North Congress. >> I walked in and they were saying, "I'm missing money. I'm missing $1,000." Sir, I'm sorry, but this isn't fair. >> I need to call my lawyer back. >> You don't need to do anything right now. >> No, I'm calling her. >> You love >> I need to call my lawyer. You can't take away my phone. You can't take my phone away. Listen, what was your first name again? >> You can't take my phone away from me. I don't do anything. >> Okay, listen. I'm required to warn you before you make any statements. You have the following constitutional rights. You have the right to remain silent, not answer any questions. >> Any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily given. You have the right to the presence of representation. >> Right. Thank you. I don't even know what that is. >> You want me You want me to explain it to you? >> You want me to explain it to you? >> I called the police for help, but not for >> any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily given. You have the right read that to >> I'm required to read this. >> I need to call I need to call my lawyer. >> No, it's no problem. You don't have to talk to us, but I need to finish reading this to you. >> You have the right in the presence of representation of a lawyer of your choice before you make any statements during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, you're entitled to the presence and representation of a courtappointed lawyer before you make any statements during any question. If at any time during the interview you do not wish to answer any questions, you're privileged to remain silent. I can make no threats or promises to induce you to make a statement. This must be your own free will uh will and any statement can and will be used against you in the court of law. You understand your rights as I as I read them to you? >> Yes. >> Okay. Do you want to talk to me or do you want to you want to request for your lawyer? You want to tell me what happened today or would you like to call your lawyer like you were just saying? Okay. I thought she put it in the uh in the bag. They said that she may have tucked it in her pants. >> Okay. her waistband or something. Got a couple witnesses that observed her do it. >> I just checked I just checked in there. Yeah. >> You said it was a uh >> No, I needed to yell someone. >> Your last name is James. Your last name is James. >> Yours? >> Yes. No. Okay. >> Right. >> Okay. Thank you. That's what I was going to. >> All right. So, check me now. >> I'll check her. >> Staff explained that the way she moved didn't suggest she placed the money in her purse. They believe she stuffed it down her pants instead. >> Yeah. She had to stuff. Yeah. She going to drive. Well, that's >> Yeah, I was saying she probably stuck in her pants or whatnot. >> Okay. >> All right. Well, I think >> you guys aren't doing anything else to me at all. Like it at all. I came here to order a pizza. I have >> She's She's going to give me an extremely thorough search back at the police department. So, it's real simple now to tell us >> so we can get this guy's money back because this guy doesn't want to prosecute you. >> Arresting me. I'm in handcuffs right now. Exact. Yes. >> Okay. And there's another situation that I was across the street that I also have to talk to you about. Okay. >> Street. >> All right. So, do you have any of his cash on you? >> Across the street. >> And do you have any of his cash? >> Ma'am, I was calling my lawyer. You guys took my phone away. >> All right. >> You guys searched my bags without my permission. So, you [snorts] want me to do it? I can. >> There was nothing else in here. >> I'm not getting touched at all. At all. At all. I'm not getting touched at all. We should have cameras and you're on the front. I >> I don't think you understand right now. Right now you're under arrest. >> Right now you're under arrest. >> I will be under arrest. >> Right now you're under arrest. >> I will be under arrest. >> I will be under arrest. >> And we're asking if you have anything on me right now from this situation right now. >> You guys didn't listen to what I said. >> I walked in the restaurant and they were all screaming about money. I walked into the counter to pay for my pizza. >> All right. >> That's my prayer book. Literally, I got out of rehab today. That's the only reason I'm here. >> Um, nothing else in here. >> This is not fair. Literally at all. >> Yeah. You said $100 bills and uh screaming almost $700. >> I don't know. I don't know. He's he's pulling he's going to pull the video out. Security footage was being pulled to confirm what happened. Despite her claims, officers had enough statements and suspicion to proceed with the arrest for further investigation. That's where the water is. >> Quickest thing to do if you stop it down. See, cuz you had to unzip things and stuff. >> See, that's when you came back. And he got his wallet and he said, "Where's the man in the world?" >> See, she looked in the kitchen to see 129. It would have been too many holes for her to put it in her purse. Put it down her pants. >> Um, >> she said right there. Yeah. >> The man who reported the missing money didn't want to press charges. He just wanted his money back. You think you have five $100 bills? At least five or six anyway. Yeah. >> I mean, let's go with five for sure. >> Okay. Small denominations. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. This is a pretty good little stack. There's some 20s in there and some uh five or more, but close to 700. Robin >> $500 bills for sure. I have three and a and I just got two from a person for Christmas. But I see >> I mean it's going to jump out like sort of thumb on her. >> Yeah. >> What they have to do take her and strip search her or something? >> Well, I mean they'll you know they'll they'll figure it out. She got on her personal uh >> I guarantee that's that you when you think about it the way she did it had to be a prick. You know sticky pants. I guarantee it somewhere. >> All right. And you definitely want to press charges, >> huh? >> If she give the money back right now, I you tell her I won't press charges. He wants to take this and go get that. >> However, surveillance footage later confirmed she took the cash from the wallet's money clip and quickly hid it. The exact moment of concealment wasn't caught on camera, but officers strongly suspected where it went based on her movements. When confronted, the woman denied everything and refused to return the money. The cops stay calm, but they've had enough. She's going to jail. No more chances. >> Okay. Listen, I just reviewed the video. All right. Which shows you take the cash out of the money clip on the top of his wallet. >> This the guy is fantastic. He just told me one more time to come out here. >> Nova, it's fine. You guys are arresting me, right? Literally. >> She said I swore you got multiple charges, right? However, this theft can be alleviated if you let us know, hey, it's in my waistband or whatever the case may be. We take you when we take you back to the jail. We're going to search anyway. If we find it, we can get it back to him >> and he's going to declin. >> I'm not getting threatened right now. You guys do whatever you want. Okay. My lawyers are calling. >> All right. No problem. That's fine. We're going to get charged with this also. And he's going to get his money back anyway, so it doesn't really matter. >> Okay. Very good. >> That's fine. >> All right. So, I'll get a I'll get the video on the small statement, everything like that. >> Okay. >> All right. >> All right. I'll take her bathroom. >> Okay. >> Oh my god. >> Bad decision. >> We gave you an option. >> So, I mean, we're giving you multiple options. >> What options do I have? >> You didn't just listen to him. He's willing to decline to prosecute if he gets his money back. Is that correct? >> They said I have multiple charges. >> So, this situation right here, he's willing to decline to prosecute. >> Can I just talk to you inside here? Can you like walk me somewhere so I can talk to you? >> I can walk you to my car. Um, okay. >> Thank you. >> Yes. >> But here's the twist. The victim's still unsure if he wants to press charges. He doesn't want to deal with court. That might have worked if this were her only offense. >> Well, I'm glad you had that surveillance video. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> You want to get it done? >> Yeah, we'll get >> Yeah. >> Where did she hang? In her uh underwear. >> All right. All right. So, luckily we got uh we got the money back. She went up talking into her underwear. >> I told Well, >> she had she had to because I saw a little little area, but the thing is watching the thing and watching what she had to zip. That's how when you're going through her, she didn't have time. I was going I walked my hand. In fact, >> I say less than a minute. >> Stupid. I'm stupid. I'm leaving late. >> So, it's up to you. >> You get the money back. We can still charge her with the uh with the theft. >> Yeah, >> we have no problem doing that. In fact, it would be better cuz she's victimized other people. She's not just down on her love. >> I don't buy it. >> She's not 69. >> Yeah, she's older than me. >> Yeah. She also punched in over here. Mario and she was >> how bad I was on the phone. >> Let me just tell you how how bad she was. If you're going to consider letting her go, she >> Well, it's not us. We want to charge her. Because she she was accusing everybody here of hitting her and then she went back there and smacked you. >> I kept saying and then went back there tried to go back. She was not >> No, she's not nice. People who steal $700 are not nice. I promise you. Thank you. >> We get it all back. >> Yes. married. >> Sir, just so we're clear though, sir. >> Just so we're clear, she's victimized now two other people, and you don't want to charge her with stealing your $700. >> I'm just saying bringing us >> Then I got to go to court, too. >> Yeah, >> it's possible, but not guaranteed. >> Yeah. >> What do you you think I should charge? >> It's totally up to you. I'm just telling you. She stole credit card and other stuff. She's like >> from across the lady across the street and then punch this the owner/bar manager guy here in the pit. >> I don't think you have any choice but you're going to put on >> you're going to have to follow through with your charges. You know what I mean? Like you're going to have to do whatever you have to do. I don't care. So whether you're going to have to >> it's up to you. We were just my sergeant wanted to make sure you knew the full story. It wasn't just you today that she again totally up to you. >> What would you do? >> Yeah. Yeah, >> that's charging, right? >> If you're willing to go through with the full investigation and, you know, testify in court and possibly do have a deposition and, >> you know, but that's if you're not going to do all that, it's a lot of work to, >> you know, to say, "Hey, I'm going to do that." And then on >> and then they're going to drop the charges anyway if you got the money. >> She said she got out of got out of rehab. I I just >> did uh did did you the people that did they kill the credit card? Have they been noticed? >> I've been going to Yeah. >> Later, Officer Seagull met with the victim outside the restaurant. [music] The victim, Frederick Clark, gave a formal statement. He said he had come in for lunch and was seated near the takeout area. Before using the restroom, he left his phone and wallet with a money clip on the bar counter. Mario followed and tried to stop her by grabbing her backpack. That's when she spun around and punched him closed fist right in the face. One woman, Judith, was sitting right at the bar near the register. She didn't see the moment the money was taken, but she saw the woman acting loud, erratic, and aggressive. She said it felt like a scene from a prank show. Judith also said she's been coming to this restaurant for over 25 years. She's never seen anything like this. >> Okay, I'm officer Seagull. We're here at Fellis. Uh, it's an Italian restaurant, 1684 South Federal Highway in Delray, Del Beach, case number 24-16144. I'm here with witness, uh, Judith >> Kaitlin >> Ken Haley. >> Callen Healey, what's your date of birth? >> Just tell me a little bit about what transpired today while we're here. Uh, so I was sitting up at the counter there and uh, whatever ordering the food, whatnot, and the gentleman found out later, his name was Rick. He literally was gone. He went to go to the bathroom, wash his hands, and right he was right in front of the cash register. I happened to be on the phone at the same time. Just saying. And he had his wallet, his phone, and his cord. What do you call it? the charger cord there on there. >> You sit on top of the bar. >> Yeah. Like to the right of the That's the cash register. It would be like to like right here. I thought that was a little bit better. And I also figured he was a regular, our new Tegan that was comfortable there because she was in front of the cash register. And I'm one seat over um empty seat next to me and then a lady Debbie two seats now. And um then this girl came um I don't know like I got feels that I I say she's 5 to 5'4 kind of sort of and dark hair. She had light eyes. I'm sure I don't think they were brown and came in and kind of like sweats and kind of stuff and whatever with a backpack. Don't know. Let me tell you she also had a purse. came in to order some food or whatever while his name Rick was at the bathroom and that and I want to say she was asking a bunch of questions to Tegan the Marker SL pizza person and then all the altercation profound >> and I want to say this was a matter of minutes and even and she was adamant and agitated ated and thought maybe she was on drug. I know it's rehab. It's number blah blah blah. You got two hands >> and all that kind of stuff. But um number one, the men did not put a hand. I saw by the door they blocked the door and said you're going to face me. She was I had five sons. Okay. You know when you how do you say when you've done something wrong you get agitated. You know it had escalated. She say they're locking me in here. They're doing this. I I can't do anything. They're hurting me. >> None of that was true. >> Okay. >> And then uh I remember her saying she was 16. Oh my gosh. She definitely did look 16, >> right? >> Okay. So, it was one thing after another. She did have her backpack probably a little bit bigger than my purse on the counter. >> That could have been >> Okay. But you didn't physically see her take the money out of the wallet. And I feel badly I didn't and it would have been on the other side. So your backpack was this thick and his wallet and stuff >> and I was on the phone. >> So So you're you're trying to enjoy a nice a nice afternoon lunch at the at the bar. >> Now tell me about the disturbance that that this caused. >> Oh my god. It was like it was >> Was there screaming? Was there yelling? Was there >> Yes. She was very loud. >> Extremely loud. Like what's that movie called? Prank that they used to happen in TV. Like it was kind of surreal. >> Okay. Were you in fear for your for yourself at any point of the interaction? >> No. >> Okay. You just feel like she was causing like a disturbance. She was like very disorderly. >> I I've been coming here for like 25 years plus. >> Mario's a nice guy. I know the waitress is here. You know, actually though, it's weird. And I don't normally just sit at a bar if I don't, but this is like a lunch bar. >> Mario got his money back. The suspect was in custody and the restaurant could finally return to normal. But even then, the chaos lingered. Officers recovered both stolen credit cards in her possession, though her driver's license was still missing. They plan to recheck her belongings at the jail. >> Okay. Well, we actually found um that we actually found both credit cards. I at this point did not find the driver's license, but but we did find both credit cards in her possession. Okay. Um, is there any way that you can come to the police department just so I can get information from you? >> I I've been trying so she hasn't so far checking her property, but I can't, you know, I can't say that either way. I I tried I and I and I understand that and I'm sorry. We're going to recheck her property, but um again, we found the credit card so if you could, you know, where the police department is. >> As she sat in the back of the patrol car, her attitude shifted. She said she'd only wanted food, claimed she'd run away from rehab, said she was hungry, broke, and left alone in the wrong city. fly back. Oh, I thought you were back. Yeah. Can I go with one of you guys driving? >> She is driving. >> Why does she have to drive? >> I feel like she's literally going to kill me. >> She's technically the person that's in charge of technically. >> Oh, really? Are you sure? Yes. Okay. Thanks. Yeah. Literally, I was just hungry and wanted to get like food. >> It's okay. >> Cuz I ran away from rehab and she's making my first arrest at 30. How nice. >> I've been arrested before and look at me. >> No way. That's not possible. >> Yes. >> That's I don't believe it. >> Up at uh >> I don't believe it. >> Up in Maine. >> I don't believe Oh, exactly. So, you have to run to another state to be a cop if you get arrested? >> No, I'm not from Maine. I was working I was working for a government contractor. >> I think I could really be a good cop, honestly. >> There's a lot better job. >> I That's what I was saying. I was like, I like how much money are you getting out of this? What? >> Be a firefighter. >> We get We get paid the same if we arrest the fire. >> No, you guys have like a quota. Like my friend's a cop told me that like once a month or whatever, get somebody to get paid. >> That's a lot. >> And over. >> That's a lot. They get something in our shift. >> Yes. But we have a 12-hour shift. >> Oh my god. It's okay. >> Literally, I just like I have >> She admitted to grabbing a credit card someone had left in a shopping cart. Then when she saw that stack of cash sitting on the restaurant counter, she couldn't stop herself. She took it. >> It's just so sad. I would I would never do this to some girl that literally was just trying to eat because she didn't have money cuz her rehab ditched her here. >> Where'd you come from? Before you came down here? >> Yeah, I was at I live in Miami Beach. I came up here. I came up here to get clean and then um it was like the next part of rehab, so they dropped me off here, but the guy dropped me off at the wrong place. So, I was just like walking, walking, walking. Some lady left her cards in the shopping cart. So, I was like, you know, I'm like a junkie. So, I was like, uh uh. So, I went and grabbed the card, walked away, and then after I see a stack of cash on the table. What do you think I tried to do? Take it. But yeah, I was just trying to get a pizza at the end of the day and I gave the money back >> and she still me over. >> Well, we're going to get it worked through. It's >> literally She was like, "If you tell me the truth," she was like, "If you tell me the truth and give me back the money, everything's going to be fine." I told her this truth, gave her back the money, which was like $600, and she still me literally >> or whatever. At least I have Xanax in my system so I could like smile on my butt shot and not look so rad. But at the same when you when you start I don't because you said you haven't been arrested. So when you go through the court process >> try not to >> No, but I can walk out for this [ __ ] right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Yeah. So >> yeah, but >> I'm not going to have to go to the court process. My lawyer's friends with all the judges. I promise. >> But you're going to have a first you're going to have a first. >> Oh yeah, of course. That first time you have to show up. But >> after that then it gets handled differently. But if you >> She insists she's not a criminal and blames the situation on a bad decision. She believes this arrest may have prevented something worse from happening in the future. >> Explain everything like you just >> Actually, no. I didn't show up to any court appearances in my like my lawyer got rid of something. >> Well, we're in Palm Beach County, so it's a little different. >> No, it's actually better up here. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, it's better up here. >> So, like I said, as long as you maintain your composure and stuff in the court, everything will work out. >> I'm just not a criminal. Like literally, thank God I'm Jewish. Thank god I'm Jewish because if not I'd be arrested on Christmas. Like what type of [ __ ] is that? >> But nobody said you're a bad person. >> No, she is. And she was like, "Who steals money?" I was like, "I saw it. I'm a junkie." Whatever. >> Nope. I don't I don't think you're a bad person. You just made a bad decision. >> Yeah, I made a bad decision. But it doesn't have to end. >> It's a consequence. >> Maybe I'll get like a tattoo, three little points on my hands to very small, so I'll like never steal again. I feel like this had to happen because I'm like a klepto like to the max. >> So maybe something worse was going to happen where I would get like a grand theft charge. But literally she made it I was like, "Can you just make it say grand theft instead of petty theft so it doesn't look like so bad?" She wouldn't do it. >> No, that's a It's a state law. >> No, but she should make it grand theft instead. >> Can't do it. >> It's like embarrassing. It's a certain amount. >> It's embarrassing though. It was over $500. She's a >> still it still is in the grand theft of 500. >> I never got arrested. I don't know. But she's a literally >> evil. Now I'm going to have to starve for like 5 hours. >> We'll get you up there and get you get you out of the car. Go through the process. That's all. And then you >> How far is it? >> I think it's 12 miles up there. See? >> So like is that long? Nope. >> Nope. Like 15 minutes. She worries about her mother's reaction to her mugsh shot and is anxious about being taken to jail, especially because she's hungry and unfamiliar with what to expect. >> Thanks for the talk. >> All right, I just like I said, >> people that get arrested aren't bad people. It's just they make bad decisions and we just have to learn from the decisions and go. >> Literally, my mom's going to disown me. My white mother's going to disown me just because of my face right now in the mud shot picture. No, >> I'm done. It's literally I'm done for. >> But I'm going to be following you guys up. Okay, so I'll be in this right now. >> I'm scared she's going to kill me. >> That's fine. I'll be right behind you. Okay. >> I hope those jail guards aren't evil because literally like I don't know. I really >> No, they're they're super chill as long as you're chill with them. >> I never been to jail and I'm 30. I just turned 30 last month. Never been to jail in my life. Um, well, >> literally like you know how many times that cops are the ones I was the one that called the cops, dude? I got two big fat guys that punched me in the face. They were like, "Give me the $1,000 back." I'm like, "What? Dude, I called the cops and this is what happened to me. Whatever. I'm never going to call the cops again. I'll just die." No, >> we're not going to have that out. >> So embarrassing. >> At the end of the day, if somebody did the if that if that lady that had her cards in in the cards. >> Yeah. >> If that was your cards, >> I would have just like been like, "Oh, let me just call the bank, >> you know." But everybody's different. So that it's if they make that decision to prosecute, it's not much that we we can really do about >> I don't think they're going to prosecute. I gave back and said sorry. She's the only one that literally has to get her little payout for Christmas. >> Well, we don't we don't get to make on a crime like that. We're not We don't >> That's a crime. You know what the You know what the guy said that was interviewing me? He was like, "I'm sorry. I just had to finish a murder case. Are you going to talk to me?" Like that's what police need. Like a murder case, not like a >> That's what we've been doing all day. >> Little Jewish girl that was trying to get pizza and accidentally stole money for the first time. Every call we get is not always the biggest call in the world. And we have to handle it and treat it professionally regardless because if that lady called about something, that's probably the worst time. >> Do they have like veny machines in jail? >> I don't I don't I don't expect you to stay to, you know, >> I'm scared because I'm starving and this is >> they're going to feed you. >> Yeah, right. I'm not going to eat jail food. Do they have vending machines there? What's jail like? >> I don't think so. >> What is jail like? Is it frowned upon to just smile at a mud shot? >> No. >> Okay. Yeah, I'm not going to be crying. Look at my face. No, >> I look like a >> You'll get You'll get your handcuffs taken off as soon as we get up there. >> I look like a sad clown. >> But at the at the end of the day, >> I would never if I was a cop, I would never I promise maybe I'll be a cop in the future. I will never go after people like in this condition. After pedophiles, drug dealers, fentanyl dealers, and murderers. That's it. >> But let me ask you, >> if we get a murderer maybe five times a year, >> how many? >> But there was one today. >> How? >> Today? Yeah. You know how long? I've been here 15 years. You know how many I've worked? >> But we're in boy and beach or like where are we're in like Boaton? Who's in >> We're in Del. It's just >> I understand that, but if you say every time we come to work, that's >> You know what's even sadder? We're going to have to look. So, I have a picture. Okay. So, I have a picture of my son in my um in my backpack that she found. And um he's like blue eyes, dirty blonde hair, the most beautiful baby. His dad died. So, I had to find these rich Jews, Matthew and Tammy Gold, to adopt him. And they live in Boertown. So, I was basically just roaming around here thinking maybe I'll run into my son because he lives here. And I told them that and they were just so evil. Like now like everybody just saw me get arrested. >> Did they did they adopt him or did they >> they adopted him because >> legally through the court? >> Um not it was through Jaffco the Jewish adoption agency. Um and his dad died. My fiance died killed himself after that. So yeah. So he's around here like 5 minutes away. And if everybody saw that and which they all were taking pictures of me and >> it's going to get to them. That's sad. Like my son's mom is like stealing. >> Well, how old is him? >> He's four. >> He's not going to know this. >> He's not going to know this, but his parents are. And one day they're going to know. >> Yeah, but at the end of the day, their opinion matters. No, they they need to take care of the son. That's >> I get that, but like I'm really getting clean so I can maybe meet him one day. >> She's also self-conscious about how she looks during this moment. She's most upset because her son lives nearby with adoptive parents. Well, you just >> like why is she sitting here? Drive me to jail. >> She's got some paperwork and they won't take you in there into the paperwork. >> She's been writing paperwork like and reading it out loud like it was a college essay. >> She's had to print everything. We didn't have a printer inside. >> I'm I'm sorry, but I if I become a cop, I'm not going to do that ever. >> And my godfather's daughter, Sarah Draper, is a cop literally in Michigan. Like what the >> I can I can guarantee that >> cops help me. They don't do this to me. >> No, no, nobody wants. >> And they're like looking through my bags like making fun of me that all I had was hygiene products and makeup. Like what did they expect me to have like roofies, drugs, and like like I don't know. I'm sorry. I'm a half black and I walk around in the sun. Like what the >> I don't think that has anything. >> It It totally does. Literally. >> Not really because nobody in this I can tell you this in this agency. Nobody wants to take anybody to jail, especially around Christmas time. >> That is the biggest lie. She was, you know, the people in the hospital said that they were like, "Are you having fun to her?" And she's like, "Yeah, it's so much fun." Like, literally. >> But I know, but but if somebody's being agitated to you and and if she loses her core and she's sarcastic, then it is what it is. Like, so people there were people, too, and it wears on you. It's a stressful job. I >> Where is the GL? >> In West Palm. Throughout the situation, she talks openly about her drug use. She says she has been struggling with addiction for many years. >> It's a gun club. What they call gun club? >> Yeah. >> What the gun club? Because it's gun club bro. >> That's what everybody in rehab was laughing about. Maybe I'll find Jordan when I get out. I'm definitely getting high to forget this. I'm going to get so high. >> How's that going to fix >> when I get out? I'm going to get soing high. Literally so high. I'm I don't Maybe I'll overdose and die this time. Literally, I hope so because this is crazy >> for a theft charge. >> A petty theft charge. And I'm like, can you make it grand theft so I could have >> That's the reason to like >> Who the goes to jail for petty theft? >> Well, >> that is so >> Oh my god. >> Going to going to use drugs. What does that solve? >> I promise you, I'm going to get so high. >> What's it solved though? >> It's just going to like make me feel like that my emotions are calmer. >> Is your problems going to go away? >> Yeah, definitely. Definitely. For how long? >> For the whole as soon as I get out of this jail. >> She wouldn't even let me call my cop. >> It won't last long. It'll wear off and your problems are still going to be there. >> But at least I'll be high. I can always buy >> and then you're going to have to go get more because then you don't you're going to feel the same way again. Okay. And it's a And you're going to run into us again. >> All right. >> I I don't I never like No. I've been you I've been using drugs for like 10 years. Never. Ever. The cops help me in Miami. The >> Well, that's different now. >> My friend, I went to high school with him and he's a cop now. When he sees me and if I I one day a caught with drugs, he bakered me. He didn't bring me to jail. >> She should baker me. Like literally. And you know what they were all asking me? The rehab literally dumped me here. I was supposed to do PHP. I just finished detox residential. I was supposed to do PHP, but they dropped me off the wrong place. That's why I was even That's why I was walking down the street. Like, why else would I be here? Like, >> well, you're not here for walking down the street. >> I know, but I was walking down the street. I saw credit cards, picked them up, then I was walking down Warren, and then I saw cash, picked it up. >> What's your son's name? >> Left Gold. >> Left Gold. All right. >> If at any time using drugs, will I get you back to be able to see Left Gold? >> I won't see him anyways. I just gave up right now. >> Why? >> That's good. Cuz I gave up. This woman just literally like wiped. I don't think I believe in God anymore to be honest. Honestly, I don't think I believe in God anymore. That's sad because my dad was a rabbi. I don't believe in God anymore. >> I just look at it this way. I was in the military. All right. They changed the way I think on life. That if you have a problem that you have in front of you, you recognize that there's a problem. Doesn't matter if it's like >> that's why I went to detox for two weeks. I was 14 days clean. I just relapsed in the hospital. I just relapsed in the hospital. They just gave me the Xanax. >> So, let me finish. >> Okay. >> If we got a problem, it doesn't matter if the uh chair is squeaky or car needs oil or whatever. You recognize the problem. The next thing, next step in your head needs to be what do I have to do? >> Do you have a Do you have a problem? Take a picture of me so I can at least post it. So, I'll be like, look, I was cool with the cop. Yay. >> No. Everything's on the camera. They have a camera right here. Everything is should be right there. But what I'm saying is if you recognize it, you figure out what you need to fix it and come up with a solution and then you act on that solution. Okay. >> I tried. I literally am 14 days clean. So, >> but >> I was all too. >> But the the next time All right. Maybe we go 21 days or maybe we go 30. >> What? >> Oh, to like get to the sobriety. I thought you were talking about jail time. For sure I'm getting out, right? >> Yeah. >> Like as long as Trust me, they're not going to keep you in there for >> But what's the worst that could happen? Like if my godfather's like, "Fuck you. I'm not paying this." Like >> I would say at the worst it's probably a $250 bond. Which means you need 25 bucks to get out. >> $25. Yeah. >> Can you just loan me the $25 I have in my hand? >> You think I make that much? >> Are you That's why this is arresting me. >> No, I'm not. >> I'm not even I'm not >> I'm not even on overtime. I'm not even on >> dude. My chain. The chain she took off my neck is $300. >> It's going to be It's going to be I should sell that to Or can I could just convince a bondsman like come get me. I have jewelry. >> I have like Oh my god. >> If you have to, but you might get no bond. You might get like Oh. Uh >> no bond >> R O R which is released on your own recontinets >> but like tomorrow >> but probably within the same day maybe I would say I don't think you have to go see a judge tomorrow they have every the way the statutes work they have a set bond >> I don't know how it works so >> so like the state attorney tells the sheriff's office what bond is for each charge >> how many charges do I have >> I'm not sure >> can you ask her >> she's probably not going to tell you cuz she literally is like >> I I'll find out for you. >> Yeah. If you could tell me how many charges I have, >> but like I said, so if you go in there for, you know, uh driving while suspended, it's either zero or 250 or whatever. >> You can have a bond for $0. >> I didn't know that. >> They can revoke and say you're not allowed to get out or they can sit there and let you out with zero dollars paid, promising to go to a court date. That's how that's how far the extreme. >> Please make sure that there like >> And if you wanted if you wanted and if you wanted a grand theft, it would be guaranteed probably a two or $3,000 bond. >> 2 or 3,000, but you have to pay how much for >> 10% to a bail bond. >> Yeah, but that that would be still like $700. So if my bails So my bail is like $25. >> It's a misdemeanor from what I know. So it's not going to be that much money. >> Why are you doing this to me? What the Just let me go. Literally keep my iPhone and everything. I would leave with nothing right now. I swear. No, this I I don't believe in God anymore. I'm sorry. I don't Maybe I'm God. I think everybody has God in them. You could be positive and say positive words like the Bible, but I don't believe in God anymore after this. >> Trust me, >> I don't believe in God. >> I think he got good in you. I can tell. >> No, I don't believe in God anymore. You don't have to believe in God to be >> No. Literally, she literally I was like the I I had a prayer book in my bag. I had my prayer book, makeup, and like deodorant, and they're arresting me. Like I had like And the whole police station smelled like weed. >> So, >> and the whole police station smelt like weed. >> That's probably because they have an evidence locker in the hallway. >> I hate it, too. I don't like smelling it either. I walk in there and they get a big >> I was shocked. I was like, what? >> Yeah. to the evidence. People come in the next day. >> Yeah, but you obviously don't look like a corrupt cop. The guy that was with her, he was like I don't think I ever like treated anybody bad in my life at all. Like literally. >> No, I'm It's a process. That's the only >> so I don't withdraw off my suboxin. I'm on like this program called Matt. The the nurse will check you out initially and then when you get process initially processed and moved around when they're going to go take your picture and all that stuff, you'll see a nursely. >> Can I at least see what I look like in a mirror? >> They're going to show it to you anyway. >> I know, but I really want to see what I look like so I can at least be like like what face like this or like >> No, you'll be able to see it. >> Yeah, but I want to see what my face looks like. >> I don't have a mirror. >> Your iPhone like the face? You can't do that >> cuz if somebody speed is my phone, then my phone's evidence and then I'll >> No, you just don't click the picture. I just want to use it as the mirror like the camera to see. I just have to make a cute face or something cuz this is horrible. Look at my hair. They really abused me. My hair is straight. >> You're not going to take your picture in cuffs. So, you're going to get your hands and everything else. Fix your hair. >> All right. >> I look like a psycho. You're like, fix your hair. >> No, I mean you'll fix it when you get there. You know how many people go up there and have a they go >> I'm going to look crazy in my mug shot. >> Yeah. >> Go on there and search Brooking Blotters and just search like what >> Jennifer and see how many uh Jennifer get arrested in a week [snorts] >> and you can see some wild pictures. >> Damn. >> But just because you get arrested doesn't mean >> I'm starving. This sucks. I've been in custody for almost like likeing forever. This is horrible. I'm not eating jail food. I'd rather die. I'm Jewish. I eat kosher. >> You damn tell them that when you get there. >> So yeah, >> you're not. Trust me. >> Can you find out? Can you please find out [music] >> for >> like what my char like what my like charge is. >> She admits that she picked up credit cards and cash she found while walking that led to multiple misdemeanor charges, including petty theft, disorderly conduct, and simple battery, which is defined as unwanted touching. None of the charges are felonies. She has no serious criminal record, which means her bond will likely be low, or she could even be released without paying anything if the court allows it. >> I'm just going to do this by shot. >> Okay. So, what is it? >> They got the petty theft. >> Okay. >> Misdemeanor. >> Okay. >> There's a simple battery for misdemeanor. >> A battery? >> It's unwanted touching. It doesn't have to be a fist flying. Okay. >> Don't know. I don't have >> What's battery? >> Unwanted touching. >> Okay. But like what what is that? A felony >> misdemeanor. >> So I have two misdemeanor. >> Okay. And then the other one was >> I have three charges. You know she's evil. >> Disorderly >> and I got a disorder breach a piece of what it's called. [music] >> Is what is that >> misdemeanor? >> So I have three misdemeanor. How much is that? >> It shouldn't be that much. I'm telling you. >> Can you just tell me how much it's going to be? >> I don't know because the state attorney sets that and I don't get to work to jail. >> Okay. Okay. So, how much is a one misdemeanor? >> Like the one guy I took for uh >> I took I took I took a petty theft >> where a homeless person tried to steal a lunch from a construction worker stealing her. She got a $250 bond. >> Okay. So, that's $25. >> So, it's going to be like 2 4 6 like 60 like maybe $70 in total. >> You think so? >> Yeah. >> Are you sure? >> I mean, I wouldn't see it being no more. You don't have a You don't have an arrest record, right? No, >> you don't have any open cases, right? Yeah. >> So, if you don't have any warrants or open cases and stuff like that, you should be able to get out. >> That's sad as [ __ ] >> But this is the process that has to get done to get to court. >> You're a cop. I know you have food. Feed me. >> Actually, I don't. >> I've been sitting in the middle of a field holding a crime scene all day. >> Horrible. >> I ate my food. >> I'm just going to go like this. My mouth shut. >> But just make sure you follow the deputies what they want you to do. All right. I'm going to be like, "Please don't abuse me." >> They are cool, but if you act up on it and say, >> "That's so sad." >> You'll get put in a cell. >> All the people, all the guys in rehab are like, "Oh, I woke up in gun club and like now I'm like having to see that." That's really sad. No, when they say they woke up, that means >> they got they were like >> they were being a pain in the ass and they probably got tossed in the bad boy cells >> because there's bad boy cells until they calm down, they won't process them. >> So, if you just follow along and follow the rules and whatever they tell you to do. >> Thank you for telling me that cuz >> you'll get out a lot sooner. >> I said some crazy but I obviously didn't mean it. Yeah, but don't that they don't take [music] >> there's only so you got to think about they they do this all day long in process and people that are getting arrested. >> Can you totally like be nice to me? Like play nice music but not this countrymanship. This is so horrible. I don't belong in jail right now. Oh my god. I like pray before I wake up. I was doing I was sober for two weeks and I'm in jail right now. I have to put my brand new sneakers in jail. I'm telling you. So, you're going to be right back out. >> And then all my stuff. Where's all my stuff? >> Everything's with your property. >> You have my stuff? >> Okay. At least whatever. >> That big car, that big paper bag. >> Yeah, cuz I had my rehab bag and my phone and all my stuff. And I hope my chain's not gone because I'm never going to get Do you have my chain? >> Okay, good. Yeah, whatever. Like, you literally What's going to be if I'm crying having a headache right now? I just like thought about it. I could be like literally banging my head on this [ __ ] saying I'm going to kill myself. I'm going to kill myself. >> Then you get a helmet. >> You get a helmet? >> Yeah. >> What? >> You'll get a helmet. You don't even play football. >> That's too sad. >> I'm sorry, but since I don't believe that you got arrested, >> I did. I've been made. >> I was working for what? >> I was working for a government contractor. >> A felony or no? >> No. >> Okay. So, obviously >> it was a I was working for a government contractor. All right. a bunch of the guys that from the company, we went out and then the bartender had my card and this is back in the day. So, this is back when like you couldn't log in, transfer money or do whatever. So, they had I only had one credit card and I lived in Virginia at the time. So, I'm like nine states away. The bartender had my card for a tab for me and my buddy. Well, I caught her giving drinks out to some girls on my tab. >> I said, "I'm not paying for anybody else but him." She says, "Okay, I got it. I go to clear out my tab and my card's gone. So, I got arrested for trespassing because I wouldn't leave there until the man >> That's kind of like what happened right now cuz I was just trying to buy pizza with my own card. I literally I was I had my card in my hand when I was trying to buy. >> But it was my fault. I got ordered to leave. I didn't leave the property. I could have took care of it the next day. But the problem is I have to cancel card and I have no access to money while I was nine states away back then because that was all the way back in >> and what happens to people that don't pay their bonds? >> They'll just sit there until the court dates them >> like a month. >> Well, your court date will be within like 3 weeks for your charges. >> So you have to sit in jail for 3 weeks >> if you have a bond and you don't pay it. So that's why everybody uses bail bondsmans and they charge 10%. Then you give them 10%. >> So there's no seeing a judge in the morning type [ __ ] >> Only for like felonies and domestics. They have to see a judge. >> So nobody bonds me. Yeah. I could literally be in jail for like 3 weeks. >> Well, they could, but they're not going to they're not to do that because the state attorney once a state attorney realizes somebody's sitting in jail and they can't get the bond, they probably get it reduced after a couple days and people get out. I'm traumatized right now. >> Can you bonk me out? So he bought me out. >> It's I don't even know if you'll have a bond. >> What? >> I don't even know. Like I don't even know if you It'll be zero. >> What do you mean it'll be zero? >> You don't have an arrest record. So I mean the charges are misdemeanor. >> So it could be zero and they could just let me go right now. >> Yeah. You signed for a court date and you would go out of the jail. >> Oh, okay. Let's hope. I I have to pray to Jesus owned them. >> I just don't know uh how the state attorney has listed for all these cubes. >> Don't you have somewhere you can look at my name? Like >> I It doesn't have your phone. >> It doesn't come like that though. >> Yeah, it does. You're a cop. You can look up anything. >> It No, I can't. >> She talks about her family, including her son and her godfather, who she hopes will help her get out. She worries about money, bond mounts, and what will happen if no one pays for her release. The only time I ever got in trouble, but it was dropped was like three months ago. I mixed my Gavapentin and Rimron in a bottle cuz they were both empty and I was like getting drugs. But I didn't and then the cop arrested me for my medication. But like I said, my lawyer Christy, she spread to the judge. So when the judge saw me in the morning cuz I was like telling my godfather like I'll just like keep my birthday money. I told him. And then I saw the judge in the morning. She was like Rachel. Cuz she knew my mom. And then I never it got dropped like immediately. >> But would that are they going to look at that and then be like, "Oh, >> if it's open or if it >> No, it's closed. If it's closed, then it doesn't look like that." >> Okay. >> It's when it it the bond increases for the charges when somebody gets say released on their own, they sign for a court date, but they don't go to the court date. So the next time somebody gets picked up for that for saying fairy to appear for the warrant that they didn't go to, they're going to put a bond on that. >> And when I get out of the jail, what's around there so I could like get home? Cuz I'm going to have to find my own way home. My godfather's not going to >> There's uh they give you bus passes. You can get a bus pass. >> It's in West Palm. Is it like past Lake Worth or like >> It's just off of Southern and Congress. >> So where's Pass Lake Worth? >> Near. >> She admits to being a kleptomaniac. says she steals from stores, not people. Says her dress is stolen, her sweater's stolen, even her rehab bag. And then almost like she's trying to make it all okay. She starts laughing about it. >> It's It's north of Lake Worth, but it's near to where the airport is. >> So, what's around there that I'm going to be able to get out of? Like, >> I'm going to have to hold my thumb in there and probably get arrested for prostitution next. >> No, >> she'd probably get me for that one. I don't know. Thank god they gave me a Xanax because I wouldn't be able to handle this. >> No, you just got to take some breaths, that's all. >> I wasn't able to breathe earlier, honestly. >> Whatever. Like I said, maybe this is to teach me not to steal because I am a kleptomaniac. Like I am a klepto. A very very >> You won't want people taking the stuff from you. So I know >> I don't steal from people. I steal from stores. >> Well, goes both ways. You guess who pays for that? >> Like this sweater I have is stolen. My dress is stolen. >> Home Depot. Home Depot here in Delray. Just the one store. They lose $1 million of merchandise a year for stolen goods. But guess where that the money comes from? The price of the goods that everybody else pays. So like my drill will cost $100 instead of 75 because they lose a million a year. >> Wow. Well, I could tell you're not a dirty cop. I don't think she's a dirty cop either. >> She's not. Like the other cop, dude, that was like scary. He was LIKE, "SIT DOWN." I WAS LIKE, "DUDE, I'm not a dog. I'm not going to sit on the floor." Like literally >> and with my dress and everything, it's just so bad. >> I [snorts] just have to be really nice to those people over there.
