cases of people who wanted protection but found themselves treated like they did something wrong it's scary when the help you need puts you in a spot where you're seen as the problem in Berkeley Springs West Virginia one night people were having fun at a bar but then things got out of control the police came because there was a big fight they found two brothers who were hurt one brother had been punched in the jaw and was bleeding a lot the other brother told the police what happened a woman attacked them and then some other men joined in hurting one of the brothers badly what happened a girl a girl punched me first I got to go to the hospital my all it hurts really bad you're doing awful lot talking for it hurting awful bad he got jumped by eight guys I think one girl spawn with one punch all right that's not the story we're getting we got unti million different versions there's a camera up there don't don't oh I want to hear your you know what I don't d i I don't want to hear your story I want to go to the hospital you excuse you the brother who was heard asked for help but the police didn't seem to care much one of the officers even said something mean like the brother was talking too much even though he was in pain instead they seemed more focused on making him quiet than getting him to a hospital when the brother kept asking to go to the hospital one of the officers threatened him saying he'd go to jail if he didn't stop talking I want to go to the hospital you better back up out of my face or you's definitely going to be born I want to go to the hospital you understand me I understand you completely I want to go to the ever get in my again cuz you're white you want to go to jail don't you I don't I want to go to the hospital shut the hell up and back up why first amendment I don't want to go the argument got worse police even accused him of making things worse by talking too much even though he kept asking for help one of the officers got mad and arrested him it wasn't clear why he was being arrested but it felt like they were treating his request for help like a crime I need to go to the hospital I have a broke I have this little police grabbed the injured man in a way that made it hard for him to breathe and didn't let him get medical help his brother tried to record what was happening but the police police didn't like it and went after him too the way the police treated them not only made their physical injuries worse but also hurt them emotionally and the police used racist words which made the whole experience even more humiliating why are youing yeah I already got everything in camera there's no there's three Brave guys with the beanie that's his ears are cold the car yeah you ready you ready for it I'll lose my social media people wanted the police to take responsibility for what happened the Morgan County Sheriff's Department had to look into what their deputies did at the same time the brothers decided to take legal action they wanted to be compensated for what happened to them both physically and emotionally and for their rights being violated turning our attention to another impactful case and the events that shake the life of a couple one day a couple was driving along a normal Road on an Arkansas's Highway suddenly a police officer thought they were driving too close to another car he signaled them to stop the couple obeyed and started to pull over the police car behind them accidentally crashed into their car the couple didn't understand why they were stopped so they asked the police officer but the officer's explanation was confusing he said they were driving too close to another car and almost caused a crash the couple didn't agree because the officer suddenly break which made them stop too they argued with the officer about this but he kept saying they were wrong even though he suddenly caused the crash by breaking pull to the parking lot pull it to the parking lot 6 notot Springs go send uh one of the normal units over here to the uh shoot Factory had a car was right in front of me 104 109 why registration Insurance sir why you pulling me over cuz you're following me too closely nearly rared me no I did not you slammed on your brakes you had no break you had no turn signal or nothing I had to turn around on the car without speeding I'm doing my job I wasn't but okay the argument about driving soon became more serious the officer wanted to see their ID not just for the driving problem but also because of the crash this seems because the officer caused the crash the situation got worse when the driver disagreed with the officer then the officer told the driver to get out of the car maybe because he felt like his power was being questioned do you have an ID on you ma'am I sure do you don't need your ID yes I do actually for the accident report that you so that you still want sir yes I do want it okay youing hit me there's no damage between that her husband was a veteran who was 100% disabled because of severe PTSD but instead of help this made the situation worse the trooper didn't seem to care about the Veteran's condition and didn't think it mattered in explaining how the driver reacted to the accident why are you doing this why are you doing this L there was no need for cussing me out until he can calm down and act like an adult he's going to send back the car let me explain to you my hus has severe P has severe severe he's 100% disabled veteran and he is fing that's why you going to talk you going to talk to me you going to let me talk or you just want to interrupt me entire time ma' I'm sorry okay until he can calm down and act like a human be and stop cussing me out for no reason so I'm trying to explain to him what but he wouldn't give his badge number or talk properly with them this showed he was misusing his power even when a supervisor came things didn't get better the officer told a one-sided story which led to the couple getting several tickets I just want him I'm trying to get him to calm down but he doesn't want to he wants to continue to yell at me for no reason okay has PS but there's still I understand to yell at you I understand there's no reason for him to yell at me I I understand he has PTSD I have a lot of military friends at PTSD and they don't just yell at people for no reason and so I don't know what his malicious if he has malicious intents or not I have we have a lot of inance ma'am I need you to calm down there's I'm fine I just always when I cry I do this I'm fine I understand but he was freaking out because you hit our car that's why he was upset it was because you hit us a video of this event was recorded and shared months later but the Arkansas Police boyfriend when the officers got there they tried to figure out what really happened but it was hard because the woman and her boyfriend didn't want to tell the truth they were upset and didn't want to admit what happened the officer wanted to talk because the woman immediately became defensive not wanting to talk even though she said she was okay there was a new scratch on her neck this scratch showed that something bad had happened even though she didn't want to admit it it seemed like she was trying hard to ignore what really went down hey let me tell talk to you real quick yes do you need EMS no I'm fine come out here come out here I really don't want to deal with your people all right well we'll make sure you're okay I'm fine 16 through 6y we code code for uh she does not need EMS so what happened nothing look up for me what's on your neck what happened nothing happened so I have witnesses saying something happened are you trying to protect him no I just really don't like dealing with you I really don't want to deal with you I really don't okay so I don't need to talk to the deputies kept asking questions which was both good and bad it was good because they wanted to help and keep people safe especially when there were signs that someone had been hurt but it was also bad because the woman didn't trust the police she had bad experiences with them before so she didn't want to talk to them where is the guy that allegedly I mean we don't we don't know where he's at I don't so he left does he live in this apartment complex he does not you don't know which way he went I don't know and if I did I would have to 1636 k94 victim's advising she does not know which way he went so were y'all I'm trying to figure out why your friends called the cops what friend or your Witnesses whoever was over here that called us so what we got we got into an argument that's it that's it okay it was nothing physical nothing physical where are the marks on your neck from we got my started to get impatient the Second Officer wasn't as calm as the first one instead of trying to understand he tried to take control which made things worse so what happened we were trying to talk right that's all we were trying to do hey someone take these handcuffs off you how do you turn the light are we going to be cool if we take these handcuffs off the light's not on it's not on it's a okay all right ma'am so I wasn't here with information relate to you when we come to stuff like this we're going to check for safety reasons okay we're going to make sure he's not here and you're not hiding in we understand you don't want to cooperate we can't force you to do that we get that we understand that but you don't do what you just did not when we show up for something like this we don't get your cooperation that is what happens yes okay all this screaming make it does not make us stop okay it only makes us get you secure faster okay the victim may be trying to protect herself or the person who hurt her ended up getting handcuffed and restrained by force the male officer who was part of it got suspended for a day and had to get more training that's all for our cases about people
