restaurant parking lot when the police got there they saw a woman in the driver's seat who seemed to be under the influence of drugs she was acting very oddly almost like a zombie when the officer got to the stake and Shake restaurant's parking lot he saw a car with smoke coming out of its engine to stop any chance of a f the officer quickly asked the woman in the car to turn off the engine oh your car is smoking no no turn off smoke again yeah turn the car off turn the car off turn the car off I did it's been off all can you keep me up out of the car please yeah the way the woman was acting was odd making it seem like she might have taken a lot of drugs that couldn't be identified when the officer asked if there had been a crash the woman said no she explained that the air conditioning in the car was on full blast and it was her boyfriend who had been driving so what happened where did you guys come from you drove over here yeah we live in shwood I it's fine we bought literally a week ago did you guys hit anything no it just started smoking randomly yeah we had the max you take your yeah we had the max AC on okay so I don't know if that's why he said it was the temperature who was driving he was well yeah you were in the driver SE when I got here right no yeah I was getting the stuff back in the trunk the offic of watched the woman closely and noticed she was acting very strange almost like a zombie it seemed more and more like she might be on drugs because she was acting in a way that made it hard for her to move or talk normally because you're acting like under the influence when I got here the car is running you're in the driver's seat right right your pupils are extremely constricted and you're acting very radically I don't are you what drug are you under influence on nothing and the way you're acting is like you're under the influence of some sort of narcotic no you're not okay every time the officer asked her something she said no but because she was found in the driver's seat the officer decided to do a sobriety test to see if she was really Under the Influence surprisingly the woman agreed to take the test right away are you okay with doing some test to make sure you're good to drive absolutely I got here you were in the driver seat absolutely but I won't be able to drive I can't you I mean I can if I need to but why I got here that near the driver seat car is running you know so before starting the sobriety tests the officer asked the woman one last question to see if she had drunk any alcohol or used drugs that day the woman quickly said she hadn't used any substances with no other choice the officer went ahead with the sobriety tests you didn't take anything at all drink anything no nothing at all that's in the car no alcohol no and no narcotics at all no his mom just got admitted in the hospital his dad died a month ago like I came here to get a journal from Barnes & Noble and then my cash app card didn't work okay police officers use three main tests to see if someone is under the influence these tests are called the horizontal gaze nagus hgn the war can turn and the one leg stand first the officer did the horizontal Gaz nagus test this test checks for involuntary eye movements that happen when a person looks to the side this eye movement can show signs of being intoxicated are extremely small okay there has to be a reason for that so do you want to just be honest about what you're taking I'm not taking anything I don't know if it said I was wearing sunglasses no possibly all right after the first test the officer noticed the woman's pupils were really small which usually means someone is under the influence of alcohol or drugs do you see how you're acting right now it's not normal I'm no just the way you're like consistently moving and acting I was just going to ask you if I did okay I never took a test like that before no it looks to me like you're tweaking you know what I mean yeah that's the it's no no cuz there's no reason to is it it says my after that the officer proceeded with the next test which is known as the walk and turn test the officer explained the process clearly this test wasn't just about walking it was about following Specific Instructions Under Pressure during the walk and turn test she will start with one foot in front of the other maintaining Heel To Toe contact and her hands at the side walking nine steps forward Heel To Toe she will then pivot and take nine steps back while you're walking keep your arms down at your side watch your feet at all times and count your steps out loud once you start the test don't stop until you complete the test next test is called the one leg stand test all right stand feet to get arms out your side following the walk and turn the one leg stand test was next the woman was instructed to stand on one leg keeping her foot about 6 in off the ground and count out loud for about 30 seconds despite her initial confidence removing her sandals for the test the woman's performance raised further concerns all right begin this might be better with my sand off honestly okay you want to take your sandal off and do it yeah go evasive the officer trying to get to the truth mentioned that her boyfriend had already shared some information yet she continued to deny everything even confusing the dates when questioned about her last substance use you want to be honest now what you took he's already said he's already told me that he's already told the other so why why aren't you being honest I am being honest so you didn't take any sort of when's the last time you used probably when I was in a car accident what was that July July this year yes not even July yet no July last year it's almost been a year yeah last time Behavior not letting the officer search the car and how she did on the tests the officer believed something was wrong she was arrested for driving Under the Influence DUI even though no one saw her driving just sitting in the driver's seat made the officer suspicious later when they looked through the car they found some drugs they couldn't identify this made her situation worse in the end she
