discuss these cases of mishaps of girlfriends who took a left turn at love and found themselves on the unexpected road to the police station Alonzo and Veronica on January 5th 2023 in Hanover Park Illinois it was a cold evening but suddenly loud music broke the silence people living nearby got bothered by it and called the police officers Pro Patel and reavers came to check it out they went to the house of Alonzo and Veronica a couple who strongly believed in their rights maybe a bit too much all right so you guys just going to keep the music down for the night okay otherwise if we keep the problem Alonzo and Veronica didn't cooperate instead they Shone flashlights in the officer faces and asked many questions keep your flashight off my face first what's your name officer right here the officers stayed calm repeating their names and badge numbers trying to handle the couple's many demands and accusations I know my laws come on come on man you need ask I already told you my name shown their ID Alonzo kept asking for it then out of the blue the couple decided to go outside and face the offic directly it made the whole situation even more ridiculous yo go back inside now go to visit they weren't even doing nothing number the argument got worse when the couple went outside they challenged the officers to do more asking if they were trying to scare them however Alonzo and Veronica switched between asking for respect and saying the officers were bothering them Veronica kept saying she felt harassed repeating how they felt bothered by the police during their 6 months in Hanover Park even though they said they wanted respect and felt harassed their behavior showed otherwise I feel harassed since we moved here we only got 6 months living here I feel harassed I have kids I feel harassed I'm being harassed by hand over Park police I'm being harassed okay are you going to listen to me or not I'm going to listen to you okay yes I am when he walked up yo brother do family from Chicago I'm sorry then they mentioned having family in the military and police they kept asking for respect and understanding from the officers but at the same time they wouldn't turn down the music or talk calmly they created created a lot of confusion and misunderstanding between them and the officers what's your best number bro what's your name on B what's your best number what's lot about the law to protect his rights then Veronica said she was pregnant making things even more complicated for the officers trying to calm the situation whether their claims were true or not they showed how far they were ready to go to avoid getting arrested I'm telling you this right now do they have a loud noise complaint if you do if you you'll get obstructed okay hey I'm letting you guys out that she was pregnant and hurt not just to the officers but also to anyone watching it made it seem like the police were the ones causing trouble in a situation that was getting worse by the to calm down and step back they didn't listen Alonzo shouted trying to protect Veronica but it seemed more for show because they ignored the officers things escalated Veronica was told to lie on the ground and Alonzo was handcuffed their kids suddenly in the mix were confused and scared by the commotion Alonzo claimed the officers were rough with him despite being taken to the police car the couple kept demanding and accusing with Alonzo still asking for the officer names and badge numbers which after all that had happened didn't make much sense going to not resisting yes you are you guys crimes because of what happened they were accused of severely hurting a police officer and not cooperating with them which are serious charges this was on top of the original reason for the police being called which was because of the loud noise they were making moving on from this chaotic scene let's discuss another case where the unexpected turns the ordinary into the extraordinary Jesse Stevens in May 2023 a policeman went to check on a man walking alone as someone had called about him when the officer found the man he didn't think it would lead to an arrest for driving under the influence the man's name was Marcel Shazer he said he was waiting for his girlfriend Jesse Stevens to come get him Marcel was out of breath and having trouble with his asthma what's up much um some people had called and they said that they saw you walking they were just concerned that you were going to get his everything all right yeah I was supposed to be waiting for my wife to come pick me up and I freaking asthma and I can't breathe and she lives down by that store so I had to walk I'll be out with that male just north of 9562 956 end at the store she lives down there uh what's your wife's name uh Jess St okay you guys are married no we're we're inam okay um and she's supposed to be coming to pick you up she said that I've been calling our car 30 times she was answer so I was I was just I know where she lives um do you want me to give you a ride or do you need a squad if you're have like if you you if you want just put your butt right here that way you can sit down and kind of tripod a little bit and catch your breath talking to Marcel it became clear that he and Jesse had a complicated relationship the officer could see Marcel was upset and suggested calling an ambulance to make sure he was okay the officer said they would take Marcel to Jesse's house they wanted to help instead of finding Jesse worried about Marcel they found her at home's driveway eating cereal like nothing was wrong Marcel was struggling with his asthma but Jesse didn't seem to care where are you coming from oh I'm sorry you're good where are you coming from me and her got into an argument okay and no one hit each other or nothing like that we just got we got into an argument and I took off walking down here I guess you going come and get me do you want me to call you a squad to come check you out I just I want her to get here I'll tell you what how about I call one they can come check you out if you don't want to go to the hospital you don't have to but at least they can check your vitals make sure you're good to go if they need to give you a breathing treatment or something like that um they can maybe take you to the hospital or they can give you a breathing treatment do you mind I'll do that but do you mind do you have an ID with you so I can just tell my dispatchers who I'm talking to and I'll get one started this way I don't I don't need no ambulance I'm fine you all right all over me you all right yeah um so I have Marcel in my car somebody called in they were afraid he was walking down 6:38 they were afraid he was going to get hit yeah I couldn't get this thing to start I was trying to come and get him okay why couldn't you get it to start I don't know it's a piece of crap is he allowed to be here yeah okay you're good man are you okay I offered to get him a squad he said he thinks he's having an asthma attack oh do you need that he isn't healer Marcel why don't you let me [Music] caller okay real take me m IAM I'm taking you this thing is pie piece of crap I bit my tongue the officer trained to see if someone was drunk or on drugs noticed that Jesse was moving strangely and Her speech was unclear as soon as she came out to talk even though Jesse said she hadn't drunk any alcohol or taken drugs her actions showed otherwise Jesse have you had anything to drink today no you been doing any drugs or anything like that no I can tell you she hasn't we just got into AR okay cuz ever since you stepped out of the car you've been stumbling you're you're sling your words so oh no I'm anything no no do me a favor look up okay oh thing's a piece of crap my what's wrong with the TRV my tongue I bit it go you want to answer me okay don't vibrate I was trying to get this to start mom the keys were supposed to be brought back to uh the CRV but my dad never showed up because of how Jesse was acting the officer suggested doing some tests to check if she was drunk or on drugs these tests are done to see if someone can keep their balance move properly and follow simple directions it's a normal thing to do when the police think someone might be impaired Jesse said yes to doing the test but she didn't seem to care much showing that she might not have been thinking clearly so I'll tell you what do me a favor yeah I'm going to offer you to do some field sobriety tests okay okay do you want to participate in them sure okay cuz right now I I I'm not too sure you should be driving okay okay just based on what I'm seeing the first test was about following an object with her eyes which should have been easy but even this simple thing was hard for Jesse then the officer asked her to stand on one foot which was even harder Jesse struggled to keep her balance and count out loud she even mentioned having a back problem which seemed unrelated and might have been an excuse so what I'm going to do first is check your eyes Okay and then after that we'll have you I'll have you do a couple other things I'm going to have you just turn around that way the sun's not in your eyes go ahead and turn around for me all right can you see the tip of my finger okay yep all right just follow with your eyes and your eyes only okay go ahead and blink if you need to all right we're going to do that again okay sorry about all this sir you're all right sorry Jesse you're fine okay go ahead and begin 1001 fo fo off the ground to it up foot down at three this one might be hard cuz I'm bu okay 1001 1002 1003 1004 1005 1006 10078 okay so Jesse what I'm going to do is I'm going to I'm going to place you under arrest okay cuz right now I believe that you're impaired and you were behind the wheel of a motor vehicle getting ready to go get him okay well but I believe that you are as they did some tests the police officer and Marcel saw that Jesse couldn't drive safely she had trouble doing the sobriety tests which made the officer think she was drunk or or on drugs because of this evidence the officer had to arrest Jesse for driving Under the Influence unfortunately Jesse's arrest wasn't just the culmination of a series of unfortunate decisions and that's the end of our cases through some truly unbelievable stories we've seen everything from loud music complaints to unexpected turns during simple police stops it just goes to show you never really know what's going to happen next in life ever
