In a recent incident that unfolded at Dunwoody Tavern in Dunuy, Georgia on January 1st, 2022, local police were called to investigate a disturbance involving a drunk man who had been arguing and pushing another patron at the bar. The officers arrived to find the intoxicated individual leaving the premises, prompting them to inquire about the events that transpired inside. The drunk man, visibly inebriated, struggled to provide a coherent explanation for his behavior, admitting only that he had misbehaved without any recollection of the specific details. Further conversation revealed that his excessive drinking was a result of the recent and traumatic loss of multiple family members and his beloved dog. Hey, bud. Keep your hands out your pocket for me. All right, just go and talk to this officer over here. I'm sorry. Just talk to this officer over here. What's going on? I I I have no idea. Change off location. What's this in your pocket? Uh sunglasses and a lighter and uh keys and have a seat right here. Just sit right here on this brick wall. So, what's going on, man? I'm I I deeply apologize for anything. So, nothing happened inside? Well, I I I I got a little drunk and a little misbehaved. Okay. I will admit that. By Mr. H? What do you mean? Well, I I don't recall. Okay. You remember having any kind of physical altercation? No, I don't recall any kind of I mean, from what they told me, I was out of line. Okay. But I don't recall. Do you remember what time you got here? Uh, yes, sir. Uh, it was around 11:00. Well, it's not even 11 yet. 11:00 a.m. Uh, no, sir. Uh, I I apologize. Um, it's 8:30 right now. Well, uh, my recollection. I'm sorry. I I I I I I have no I have no recollection. I apologize. Anybody? Okay. Put hands on anybody. He pushed somebody. What's a good phone number for you? Uh, my phone number is 4. Okay. So, your car is here in the parking lot. Yes, sir. Okay. How How are you planning on getting home? Well, I was going to get an Uber ride. Okay. I sure am sorry. I I had no idea that I caused this much trouble. I Well, when you're at a point where you don't even remember what you did, that that's that's not a good thing, right? Well, my mother and my aunt and my girlfriend all died, you know, uh at the same time and and I had to put a family dog down. It was it was a traumatic experience for me. I um trespassing the manager of the my mother-in-law the manager saying that he just shove some dude in shove him back and he don't want to press charges out as my mother's dog uh it's it's been a traumatic experience for me and start trying to get it right if anybody can pick you up did you already start your Uber did you already you already ordered Uh, no. I mean, maybe I I don't know. Can I reach for it? Yeah. Go ahead. Yeah. Go ahead and get Uber on the way. Where do you live at? Uh, okay. Oh, my See, my phone is dead. That was a problem. My phone is Do you have anybody lives with you? It's dead. Wait. Does anybody live with you? No. I like I said, I took care of my mother. She was on her hospice bed and I had to take care of her. All right. So, how you going to get home? Well, I was going to drive home. I mean, have an Uber, but you know, like as I said, you know, it's dead and then this guy's antagonistic and I and I didn't have anywhere to go. How far? Probably like 10 miles. You know where the county? It's uh what city? Uh what city? Dunwood. What street does it run off of? All right. See, see my phone is dead and uh I can't It's a paper weight and somebody was being antagonistic towards my family and I and I Hey, um so he he lives off of um so he uh his phone is dead, so he can't order Uber. You want to give him a ride to his house just to get him out of here? I mean, he doesn't seem like he's been a jerk now. Yeah. He's an offender on a assault with a gun, is he? From like a year ago. Really? Cuz I feel like if we leave him here, we're probably going to have more problems with it. Unless we want to charge his phone up and wait for Uber to get here, which know how long that's going to take. [Music] He was an offender on that on that uh a year ago. He's got a bunch of history. He's got a ton of citations. He's got um DUI, first offense. In light of the circumstances, the officer issued a criminal trespass warning to the drunk man, strictly prohibiting him from returning to the bar. Okay. So, they're accusing you of anything. is just saying that the managers here are wishing that you don't return to this property. It's exclusively that anything uses a 5486 address, which would be pretty much just the tavern itself. So, if you go over here, you should be fine, but um tavern's just asking to issue a criminal trespass warning. Um just need your signature here. All all it's doing is fair guys. Can I talk to them? They they have the they have the right to do that. They don't need Are they really that mad at me? Apparently. Apparently. So, like I said, really? What did I do wrong? I don't know what I did wrong. We're beyond that point. Okay. There's a just an altercation. An altercation inside. You can handcuff me. And like I said, this isn't admitting that you did anything wrong. I I don't I don't I don't agree to it. I would like to talk. Okay. It's still it's still going it's still going to be effective because you're going to get your copy and it's going to be on file. So, you don't have to sign it if you don't want. I will try. I won't come back. I'm sorry. did I do wrong? I don't know what I did wrong. I will sign. Here's your ID. I apologize. your copy and do so and and do I have to pay the fine? No, it's just simply stating that you've been made aware that if you return to this property and they call for any reason, you are subject to possibly being arrested for criminal trespass just for simply being here. Really? So if I if I post Can I go down there? Yeah, you can go down there. Can I Can I go to Porters or the I just need a signature from somebody from the business right here just as a get a copy for the trespass for him. A concerned woman inside the tavern approached the officers, expressing her fear and anxiety due to the drunk man's actions triggering her post-traumatic stress disorder. Okay. Okay. I'll give you uh this is going to be your copy and it has his name on it. In case he returns, you can just let us know when you're not. It'll be on file. So, if his name gets run, it'll show that he's been trespassed from us. Okay. Thanks. Is he being arrested? He's um he is getting trespassed from the location. What does that mean? Trespass. Is that a criminal charge? It's a trespass. What about drunk and disorderly for shopping that gentleman? And it should be on the surveillance cameras. I'm the one that called it in. This was dangerous. And then he came back onto the property. This has been going on for the past hour. This is more than trespassing. I felt threatened, personally threatened. I grew up in an abusive home and that's triggering PTSD for me. I want I want I want him arrested. But apparently they talked to the person that he pushed and he didn't want to press any charges, which he has the right to say no. What about drunken disorder? Doesn't have to be a personal assault. I can have my supervisor. This is this is more than trespassing, sir. I can have my supervisor come and talk to me. I mean, can I do I have a right to file a complaint because this this was upsetting to me. I mean, and it's on surveillance cameras. It's not a matter of do you have a witness? You have it on film. I'll have my supervisor come talk to you. some uh wants to talk to you because she she just she felt she's claiming that it triggered her PTSD which I I mean yeah prove that don't be in a barriminal in my own defense you don't need to be a going to prosecute somebody for the wrong door. Yeah. So, you said you do live there. Where can I go? We're going to walk over this way. Okay. To get back to your house, you can get in and everything, right? You have a way to get in. Uh, yes, sir. Okay. Over this way. I mean, I need to call an Uber, obviously. Well, if you just live on, he doesn't have an issue with us taking you back over there since your phone's dead. Supervisor You're going to drive me? Yeah. So, I'm just making sure that when we get there, you have you you you can get inside. You can get in the house once we uh have seen we'll go see right. Just make sure it's locked. Okay. See Okay. You just I don't understand. Yeah, it's it's a little tricky. You just sit that way. Kind of goes like this. I don't know how this happens. This thing out. That's a curry seat belt. Like I said, my my my my best friend. Her boyfriend is APG. All right. All right. One second. The officer informed his supervisor about the woman's request for a discussion. As the supervisor engaged in conversation with her, it became apparent that this incident was not an isolated event involving the intoxicated individual. Hi, how are you? Hi, Sergeant. You want to speak to me? Yeah, I I um I'm the one that called it in. Oh, okay. I thought the owners called it in or the manager, but apparently this is a regular occurrence and they didn't even call, but I was very concerned by the behavior. It should all be on surveillance camera. There's a camera right there. There's a camera right over there. He pushed He was yelling at the bartender and slamming the door and slamming his concrete. I'm sorry. We got a lot going on. Sure. Yeah. Um so um so you said that he assaulted somebody. Yeah. He pushed that gentleman into that column, shot him pretty hard and you know and then he's like carrying on and going out and then he lurks out there for the next half hour and and then comes back in and then like refuses to leave the property. They had to get him off of the property. Apparently this is a regular occurrence. I think that's drunk and disorderly. You got it on surveillance video. I felt in danger for my own safety. That's a kind of crazy, pardon my language. Who can come right back in with a gun and shoot this now? Which is why I'm still sharing. I grew up in a home with violence, domestic violence. That's triggering for me. That man needs to be arrested. That's way beyond trespassing. That's drunken, disorderly, and belligerent behavior. And it doesn't matter if this gentleman doesn't want to press charges. It was on video and I felt like Let me do this. Let me speak to the management. See if I can look at the video and then we'll go from there. Let me look at the video. Where's the manager at? I don't This This lady is the manager. The manager. Can I speak to you for a second? Just give me one second. Thank you, man. Yeah. Yes, sir. Further discussions with witnesses and the establishment's manager revealed a troubling pattern of behavior. Who started? Hey, you're the manager here. She is. She's busy. Okay. I just want to see is there is there any video surveillance of what occurred? Uh yes, there is video surveillance. I don't know if we can access whatever you need for people. I don't care. Do you mind if I if I take a look at the video that they allege occurred? Is there any video surveillance? You don't know how to get in touch with the video. I can find out for you. Okay. Um, were you here when all that occurred? I did not see that because I've had people up here. Yeah, I got you. Okay. Back and forth. So, I may have had that head turn. I didn't see that particular I know that he did get like a car which I know I told him to get out. Okay. He told me to myself get out and I said well then I don't have anything go get out. And I guess um one of the patrons thought they were helping him and went out there to escort him out. And then I guess that's when the patron says that I did not see that. And that would be at the front door. All right. Washing dishes and serve whoever needs to be served. So you you guys wouldn't have access tonight anyway to the camera. We had a problem tomorrow. That's all on your birthday. [Applause] All right. So uh we were They don't have access to the video surveillance tonight. And so I can't really charge you if I have people that aren't willing to prosecute. I I'm I'm willing to be a witness to say he was drunk and disorderly and assaulted that man for a drunk and disorderly. That should be sufficient. Well, with with the backup of video that will be available when it is available. Yeah. I can't I can't necessarily arrest him because because there's a there's the the person that he assaulted. They're saying we don't want to prosecute the business owners who were here. They're saying they just want him to leave. So we criminal trespass him. So which means if he steps back foot on this property at all, he'll immediately be placed under arrest and taken to jail. Hands down. Is he not going to jail tonight for this? No. No, he's not going to jail. We criminal trespassers on that property. I cannot believe that he can assault a man, terrorize an entire restaurant, and done police will let him go home tonight. Well, and that's why I'm saying here, I understand what you're saying, and I I agree with you as far as what you're saying. But if I have no other cooperating witnesses and I have a video surveillance camera, I can't put him in jail for that. They're saying that there is video surveillance, right? Well, what we can do is we can investigate tomorrow and look at the video surveillance and we have this this information. We could potentially do it. I don't understand why my iconic testimony isn't sufficient to You're literally You're the only person that's cooperating with the police right now. I mean, you're the only person that's telling me what's happening. I've got nothing from the business owner saying they just want him to leave. We've got the apparently he does this three times a week. That's unacceptable behavior. They should they should have called us more. And and listen, they're I told them I can't I can't believe I had to call you. I told I told her I said if he walks back in here with a gun. I said that you're talking millions of dollars of liability. I'm an attorney. This was criminal behavior. I'm an I'm a cooperating witness and I will tell you what happened. You have video surveillance to back that up. This was unacceptable. They may not want to press assault charges, but they can certainly corroborate my version of what just happened here this evening. Okay. Well, nobody that was. Would you like to talk to the Jones? Sure. I mean, I'll talk to him. Tell this gentleman what happened, but apparently I'm the only person that saw anything happen tonight. Um, but there was drunk and disorderly behavior and a gentleman was shot. It doesn't have to be an assault charge, but this was unacceptable behavior. I'm not the only one that saw this. No, you're not. You're not. Everyone happy? Yeah. I mean, as much as I saw, I was sitting here, my friend was sitting next to me and all I saw was he started having words with the bartender behind the bar in the corner. So, she was telling him to leave, leave, leave. And he was getting obnoxious and he stood up out of his chair and I got up and went over cuz I was afraid he was getting to go to the bar or something. And so he turned around and started leaving and I stuck out of his way and came standing about where that chair is right there. He went kind of through him, pushed him up, pushed him up against my wall. And so I followed him out the door, but he left. Okay. And then we were all talking about it. Then I went out to my car and he was still sleeping outside on the couch out there. Well, what time did this happen? I don't know. I have no idea. Is that an hour ago? I do. An hour ago. But when I came back in, I told the Bart he was still waiting outside when he called somebody. So they that's when they called y'all, I believe. And he wandered around outside. Then he came back inside. He went over there and sat and I went over with my friend and the bartender and we just I just said, "You need to leave. You need to leave, dude. You need you need We did our hand closets and that kind of stuff. Just you just need to get out of the bar." I walked him out the door and he said, "Bye-bye. You don't need to come back in here." And I came back in and that's about the time y'all showed up. He pushed you? No. But he don't he don't want to press charges or anything. I mean, it was it was an assault. He pushed him. It was an assault, but he don't want to, you know, the guy's drunk. You know, he he just he just wanted him to leave, but apparently it's been going on not just tonight. It may have happened. It's been delicer, the manager admitted that this goes on about three times a week. This is unacceptable. Hang on one second. Hello, policeman. Hello. Let's go. Realizing the need for immediate action, the supervisor contacted a transporting officer who had been driving the drunk man home. [Music] Hey, um you already you ought to start transporting them. Okay. Um, based on everything that I'm hearing, you know, we might have a DC under the influence if you've got him pushing people into into the uh into, you know, furniture and cursing out the management. So, I talked to several people in there. He was in there pretty much, I guess, going ballistic. Um, and then they're also telling me that this happens about three times a week. So it's not a first time filting first time occurrence. So I think we need to just go ahead and uh get him for disorderly under the influence at least because uh because we got several witnesses in here and then we also have uh the fact that he's continuously doing this. So hopefully this will wake him up to stop coming back over here doing this. The drunk man was subsequently arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while under the influence. He was then transported to the DAB County Jail. Something changed. The The lady does want to press charges on you now. What? Yeah. The lady from up at the bar. What the lady? The lady up at the bar. She wants to press charges though. Yeah. Yeah. So, that means I'm going to jail. Yeah. Yep. Just turn around for me. It's just for disorderly under the influence. So, this is my supervisor telling me to do this, not not me in my house. I know. I was I was hoping if we were going to do it, it was going to be over there, but this is what he's telling me to do. So, what does this mean? Uh, it's a rice street. No, no, no. We're into cab county. My lawn. I can't give any legal advice. My phone is dead, dude. I got you. They may have a charger there. What is it charging you with? Uh, disorderly under the influence. No one wanted to press assault charges or anything like that, but So, what am I being charged with? Disorderly under the influence, which is disorderly conduct, but well, why is she doing this? Well, I don't know. Apparently a bunch of people cooperated her story about you pushing people around inside and just I guess you go in there quite frequently and kind of act like that. So I mean I'm kind of going through the thing. I got you. My mom and my girlfriend and my aunt died. It's not fair. This is not fair. She knows my situation. She knows my situation. My girl and my mom and my aunt died just like no lighter or anything like that. A dick move. dick move. Okay. Have a seat for me. That's a dick move. She's really going to pull that unfortunately. Have a seat for me. I got to urinate. Okay. I do too. And that's my house. That's my mom's and dad's house. We'll be there and my brother, like I said, well, the sooner we get get going, the sooner we'll get down. We're going to do some personal stuff. Like I said, this is I'm going through some personal, man. My girlfriend and my mom and my brother and my dad and my dog, they all died. That's why I'm drinking at a bar. There's a She knows that she going to pull on me. That's my house. I'm like right there. And I got to pee and not Okay. Have a seat for me. And she going to press charges on. What a It's not right. out there. [Music] All right. Watch out. Watch your knee. Watch your
