We're trying to figure out what happened. Okay, >> Dad. I already told you what happened. >> Okay, so you have two choices. You can go back over there or I'm going to put you in handcuffs. Put you in his car. >> Put me in handcuffs. >> Okay, that's taking me to jail. Seriously? [Music] >> Police were called after witnesses saw a couple fighting inside their car. When officers arrived, they found a man and a woman in a heated argument by the roadside. The officer spoke to the man first. He claimed that his wife had been drinking and had become aggressive. According to him, she hit him in the face, grabbed him, and the situation got so bad that he had to pull over. >> What's up, man? Come here real quick. Set that down for me. Turn around for me. What's going on with y'all? >> Were y'all just fighting? Yes. Yep. >> I'm going to continue for just a second. Okay. >> What? Yeah. >> Hey, sir. >> Hold on. Hold on. I'll be >> Hey, boss. Like, I didn't do anything, man. >> Okay. Well, I'm going to figure I was just >> Okay. So, we got a call that both of y'all were fighting and choking each other. >> No, she was hit me in the face. >> Okay. >> And grabbing my face, which is all, >> but she's been drinking a little, >> so she'll probably go on handcuffs, too. >> She's been drinking a little bit, though. >> What was it over? He explained that it all started after she refused to wear her seat belt. He didn't want to risk getting a ticket, so he stopped the car and waited. >> So, we got bad news lately about her thyroid cuz she's my wife. >> We went to the hospital. He actually got good news, but got bad news about her hand. They said it wasn't broken, but there was nothing they could do about it. It was broken before. So, she got upset about that and all kinds of stuff happened. I had to pull off on the side of the road cuz she wouldn't put your seat belt on. Okay. >> I wouldn't move until she put her seat belt on. I don't want to pay a ticket. >> All right, let me talk to her real quick. Slide in there for a second. >> Then I'll I'll come talk to you. Okay. >> When police approached the woman, she denied that any physical fight had taken place. She insisted that it was just a loud argument and nothing more. But officers noticed red marks on her husband's face and neck, claiming both were involved in a physical altercation. >> She said that they actually put hands on each other. >> Oh, he's already said she hit hit him in the face and all. >> Put him in the car. >> Yeah. I'm I'm just I'm just >> You put him in the car? >> Yeah. Yeah. He's not He's not under arrest right now. I'm just trying to figure out. >> There's no reason for this. >> We were right. We were in an argument. There was no like physical contact. It was just verbal. >> Why is your face red? >> What? >> Your face looks a little red. >> Like you got you got a mark right here on your neck. >> Stop. >> It's not anything. >> Okay. >> What if I have witnesses that say otherwise? >> You don't have witnesses. >> Okay. I mean, we didn't just show up for no reason. >> Hey, I get that. But can you guys just let us go? Like, it was just a >> I'm trying to figure out what's going on. >> It was just There was nothing there. It was honestly just a misunderstanding. That's a >> Okay. >> The woman then admitted that they were upset after finding out earlier that day she had cancer. She also admitted to drinking, saying it was her way of coping with the shock. >> What were your argument over? >> Um I have I found out today that I have cancer. >> Okay. So that's that's stressful. >> And um we're just really stressed out about it. >> Yeah, that's completely understandable. >> I did find out today though. >> Okay. Are they wanting you to do some kind of treatment? >> Yeah, I got it. Yeah. Yeah. We just left the hospital >> when we came in here. Um, I'm just trying to deal with things and I'm probably not dealing with them very well and it was my fault. >> It had nothing to do with them. I'm just super upset about, you know what I mean? >> When you find out you get, it's kind of a thing. >> The woman claimed they were only struggling over the car keys and that no one hit anyone. So, help me help me understand like obviously it escalated at some point. Okay. >> Okay. Why Why are people saying it got physical like that y'all were trying to shoot each other and stuff like that? >> Cuz of the keys probably. The keys. We were not out of this car. >> So, it was like right like fighting over the keys, but it was not physical like us. You know what I mean? Okay. >> It was just the keys. That's it. >> Did you hit him in the face at all or like like trying to get the keys away? >> Nothing like that. Nothing like that. >> Okay. Have y'all ever >> It's just like I've been super stressed when we found out today that I have it and everything. It was just like a lot. >> I understand that. And he said he said you've been drinking a little bit. So that probably that probably didn't help. >> When you find out you have cancer, you kind of want to drink, right? >> I did that. >> Yeah, I have it. >> Okay. >> I don't know how bad it is, but I have it. >> You're okay. You don't need an ambulance or anything. >> What? >> You don't need an ambulance or anything like that? You're okay? >> No. >> Okay. If you can hear me, I do. But no, >> it's just a really stressful day. >> There's nothing. >> Hear me out. So he he never put his hand. >> No, he did not. >> You never put your hand? >> No. No, it was not like that. The only like thing that I can tell you is the keys. When we were, you know what I mean? Like when we were doing like this with the keys, that's it. But with conflicting stories and visible injuries, the officers decided to detain both of them while they sorted things out. However, she became angry, started yelling, and refused to follow their orders. The officers gave her multiple warnings to step back and cooperate, but she continued to resist. Eventually, they had to put her in handcuffs. She screamed, cursed at the officers, and tried to pull away. Just saying. >> Hey, so me and deputy, my other partner, what's going on? Hold on one second. >> No, no. Hold on. >> On the phone with my lawyer right now. Get my freaking husband out of the car. You have no right to keep him in the car. >> So, listen. I mean, listen. >> No. >> Either So, we're we're trying to figure out what happened. Okay. >> There. I already told you what happened. >> Okay. So, you have two choices. Let go. >> I did give you a chance. >> Got her. [Music] >> Well, that makes it easy. God carries my I said I was sorry I said okay >> and I gave you a chance I said okay do it >> is there part around her >> yeah that's what I was trying to take off >> chill out chill out >> do you want to get sprayed Stop. Stop. >> After she was finally restrained, she said her knees were hurting. Officers helped her stand up and asked again if she was injured. She repeated that she hadn't done anything wrong and didn't understand why this always happened to her. >> Stop. Stop kicking. Stop kicking. Take a deep breath and relax. >> Relax. >> Relax. Can you calm down so we can see you up? >> We were about to stand you up. >> Hey, can you calm down so we can see? >> Oh my gosh. Oh my god.
