at 1:00 a.m. on a Saturday an officer stopped a vehicle displaying unusual driving behavior these are the events that followed hello hi I'm Deputy Kennedy S County Sheriff's Office so the reason why I'm stopping you is cuz you were stopped at that light for a very long time oh is everything okay it is yes I'm sorry we're on a road trip to our my son's Championship uhuh okay do you have your license and registration for the vehicle 25 I'll be out with five just enough work so and I'm sorry you said you were coming from where um Jacksonville my son's Championship okay you said my license and your registration sh okay I bought this car not too Longo hold on and so where you headed now to me okay so why are you going this way um I don't honestly I'm just following the GPS I had to stop and figure out what's going on I'm just following my GPS at this point okay we're going to a normally we would stay at the Westgate mm which is is something that we would normally Reserve but his cles was to reserve you said the registration right yes ma'am are you the registered owner of the vehicle I am okay all right just look for that and I'll be right back so she was stopped you know the the light to come off of I4 that like light right there even though you can't go straight she was heading Westbound and she was at the light and it was green people were just going around her she was just sitting there sitting there sitting there um there's three juveniles in the back one juvenile in the front to her she's claing she's on her way to cimi but she was so I was like why are you there and she had to ask me like four times what I was asking her for um she seems um 104 so if you want to talk like maybe ask her to get out of the car and kind of talk to her and see where she's at she's saying she's coming from a championship in Jacksonville which she lives in Jacksonville but for her to go to Cassini she shouldn't have been getting off here right hey hey uh do you mind talking me out here real quick I just got to ask a couple questions sure appreciate it you want me to step out uh yes if you don't mind we're we're going to go over to the sidewalk okay hi hi 45 to 25 signal 2 since he was 6 years old he 10 now so um as far as I'm concerned this is the main sportsmanship well that's cool so I don't know four years playing football that's pretty good yeah this is all he is the fact that I pulled over X Y and Z my my GPS from time time shuts out I just bought this car my car was total I had a um Nissan atima for over about five years pay in full anyway long story you I just had questions I literally showed up pretty much what second but I had no idea what was going on all we know was she was stopping you and then I hey I'm curious you know so you said you're coming from Jacksonville going to C C yes okay um the when is the football game it is tomorrow and Sunday Sunday uh what time um honestly I'm not for sure but I can pull that up on my phone it is between 10 a.m. if I'm not mistaken I'm trying to figure that out myself I got you um but I can figure I can show you where the confus is but it's between 10 it's sometime tomorrow I can show it all to you I get you okay no problem and then all four kids um actually my two children is my own but my son has his best friend in the car with him that's not biologically mine got so kind of like so three kids total but the two biologically are m one of them is the football championship for tomorrow okay okay I sorry I was curious I saw her in the front and then I saw two kids in the back but I was like yes that is my son my daughter is a seven-year-old the two 10 year olds are tell you he's not her his friend is not the football player but he okay all right just give me a sec okay which direction were you heading I mean what road were you trying to get on honestly to be honest with you to tell you north south east or west I'm the worst dire person ever this that I'mma say it cuz honestly this is on my GPS I don't know following it yes I'm just following it honestly I don't know but you can see it on my GPS I don't know where I'm going I don't even know why I'm pulled over okay can you all tell me I honestly don't know why you got pulled over but you're welcome to search my car you're welcome to look at the GPS you're welcome to look at all that okay I don't know what's going on okay at this point um where did you just come from I mean were you guys just driving straight down from Jacksonville or had you guys stopped for dinner anything I came strictly from Jacksonville okay but you guys you hadn't stopped in between no okay all right so based off of some of the stuff that we've got going on um he's he's saying that there's an empty bottle of Cheetos in there alcohol alcohol in the vehicle empty bottles I probably do from previously but what does that have to do with now okay so based off of what my deput is telling me is that you are displaying signs of being being intoxicated okay so based off of my interaction with you your driving pattern um at this point we're going to conduct a DUI investigation um are you willing to complete field toity exercises just so I can make sure you're okay to drive sure okay all right so um yeah in the process can I call my brother cuz I have kids in the car that's fine um you can do that once we're done here um I'm going to do what made you all come to this conclusion so the deputy that I that I spoke with he's claiming he can smell alcohol on you a little bit of alcohol in you there's an open container of alcohol in there your driving pattern when I asked you certain things you had to ask me several times what I was asking you for so all of all of the I spoke to him I didn't speak to you I was the one that excuse me no no no come here come here you're not going to walk me you're not going to walk away from me don't do that I'm not causing no D what did you what is wrong with you get your hands behind your back stop resisting I'm not resisting nothing children I'm not resisting anything what is wrong with you I'm not resisting nothing I I have I have agreed to do what I need to do talk to my kids watch your clip she was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.172 she was charged with her second DUI resisting an officer with violence battery on an officer three counts of child neglect and three counts of child abuse contact was made with CPS who took custody of the children until family could be reached she was sentenced to 36 months of probation with random alcohol testing a 12-week anger management course a letter of a ology to Deputy Kennedy a 12-month driver's license revocation DUI school 2 years of ignition interlock an 8-hour parenting course and $3,000 in
