at 11:00 a.m. on a Friday officers were dispatched to a local market in response to a fraud report these are the events that followed I'm not entirely sure yet but I got call I guess for you I just told you I don't know we causing a scene don't they want you trespass 4 on me sir for what I called the compy and they said the police because bu they me the mail so fake it's G counterfeit I just spoke with Natalie over at this company TR brand Brands and she said that she's getting calls from all over with these fake checks going on different Check Cashers okay so where where did you get the check it came to me in the mail did you ever work for them that guess they must be I guess they sending them out everybody yeah went there for a couple days but that's couple days okay like seven seven eight days but then my thing is well then if you got the check then you're not let me see my ID need to see my ID know you know we than that man they send they must be sending [ __ ] out you say she she get a lot of call yeah I gave it that yeah yeah so they get a lot of calls about this check on you already know that bro come on man man what you doing to me bro come to hustle me come to scam me this the definition of scam I know I brought a check to you you gave me have real money have fake money from the income tax I do all that all that brought you the money back bro the good one or the bad one brought you the good and the bad back made you do a whole another check me and my wife you my wife my wife is TE can I get her information first yeah I wrote it down oh it's on the check yeah when you just said you have worked for them in the past I would it wasn't long probably like six six days something like sorry I I didn't show up but you you work for them I went in for them yeah okay I just never I just didn't show back up so you just figured this was your check we hang off on that turn minute we hang off on that 10 bucks I I I I pay you want to buy one I for 10 bucks I call that you it's good so what's going on you didn't I don't know I don't know if I spoke to you about 10 minutes ago but there was another check casing store that called me with a check from he sent me his ID for $ 88023 he tried to cash in a check I told the guy this is the fourth time in two days that I get calls from check cashing stores so do yourself a favor call the police hold them off tell them yes you'll cash it in call the police and have them get there immediately they did and the guy ran but they have ID yeah this is a different one who apparently worked for your company I guess so when he got the check in the mail he just figured it was his last paycheck no no no who never worked for oh okay we don't get one second I can check right now on ADP we don't right check okay okay it goes through ad direct deposits so one second I can tell you if ever worked for us I came in six days I never show back up and what check number was that that he tried to cash in for how much for 82364 yeah they keep it in the 800 range never okay one second let's look at terminated employees no never had work for us hey Miss Nancy I'm the guy that came in for the six days and walked off you're you're the guy that what I'm sorry I'm the guy that came in for the six days and walked off apparently he worked for six days and then never came back my name is came in for the six days and walked off you came in for six days and walked off yeah my got in so you got a written check is that what you did no I I got a check in the mail he got a check in the mail it's printed out what check number is it uh 4390 okay that's fraud we don't have checks with that number so who gave you that check CU it's certainly not us so where is the return these checks I got that stuff from him I understand that but who sent it to you there has to be a return address oh the Letter's at my the Letter's at my house I got this to my dog almost ate it up but I got this for this at my house the return address from the place yeah and where that where was the return address at came came in that I know but hang on a second who who did say sent you the this place they they got their name on they got their name on the inside of the envelope and the outside of the envelope come on man you know I wouldn't de I would brought my ID up here man who was the other police department that um Let me let me you know bring my like hello Natalie okay hang hang on a second the officer is asking you something who was the other police department that was getting the fake checks uh so last year it was one second I just emailed him this morning with a copy of the check uh his name [Music] was S one second uh it was officer officer uh J uh jenin officer jenin okay okay well Del police department number I'll give him a call then see what's going on so that was in March 2022 I just gave him an update of new frauds checks and I gave him the one from but the one you have there is also fraud by the way it's not us what was the one night who was the guy that did the checkon it was and that was 10 minutes ago from another Che cashing store and I have a copy of the check and his ID okay turn my life around man I'm chilling me just bought my house everything man I don't know why this sh I'm thinking I just got I think I got some little extra money or something you know what I'm saying know did I ain't even run from there I broke my IDE try to run none of that what kind of company is this they make all different types of stuff I need you can't go outside yet I'm talking about with you man if you were going outside you're getting put in handcuffs I don't need you're running for me okay you can the smoke can I put your handcuffs in all right well you're not under arrest I just don't want you running from me DN you really need a cigarette that bad that you want to be put in handcuffs hand a long time man he wants to smoke a cigarette cigar he did nothing I mean they're getting more and more sophisticated bro I'll tell you what's what really is scary is that normally like our Telltale sign and they got wi to it was this we do the smudge test and this ink would be all over the place and then we know immediately it's bull but now they're getting more and more sophisticated but n he knows that so good bro absolutely he knows he's like I worked there for six days they don't got you on record saying that you ever work there what do you expect well I just ranom see what his history is but how stupid do you got to be they use the same company you think once youing burn a company you you move on to the next comp right I mean criminals aren't the smartest I guess but but my question is like so so I'm on the other end of this right I'm not just going to mail him a check so that he can go and SC check cash and I don't get a piece of it you get what I'm saying I'm not going to do that unless he's getting unless there's some communication bro here's what you're you're going to get right and normally it's like the guys in the car but in this case it's it's it's her and her dad but normally the guys in the club you're talk to another guy talk who a detective uh is that your girl or is that wife that's your wife all right do you have anything she wants to have Tak him a got do it you they Tex over there do you want anything that's in she got whatever wallet phone whatever that's it nothing do my wife need to come to the police station I mean she can wait if she wants but it'll just be whatever detective talks to you or something and then go from there or what for what so he's arrested check from check from For What and that came in the mail that check came to my house in the mail so how's he going to jail so what you could do is you could go to first appearance and you could argue with the judge cuz I don't sit here and argue with people he said you could talk he F to talk to a detective so while you arresting him is he going to jail or's arrested going to jail and if he would like to speak with the detective he can't okay so is he going to have a bar probably all right I he was charged with passing a counterfeit instrument in Grand Theft due to an extensive
