Do you have any narcotics? All right. Well, do do a thorough inventory of the rest of the car and we'll go from there. I got stuff to do. Do you want this arrest? I'll write up all the tickets for her. We have it at the minimum 12 after the reckless driving charges. Cuz I initially had her at 56. I turn around, she's Uh, I think she's a moving violation. I don't think it's She's not Uh, put this foot I I requested it. >> First CH is good, but the gun's going to stay with the car because of CH. >> Got you. >> I don't have >> Did you order it? >> I ordered it. >> Okay. I'm just going to write up all the tickets for it. >> Okay. >> Here you go, brother. >> And I don't have a computer, so I can't do a tow or anything. >> [laughter] >> My computer's inside. >> 3031 3031 >> Yeah, I first lit her up in the 2500 block. >> Yeah, got you. Um do you want to try to get in touch with the girlfriend since she was in the car or >> Yeah, I was going to call her. >> Okay. >> Obvious. >> We're just going to check this trunk. >> I think um Oh, we just checked it for people. It's right there on the dash, on your left-hand side. >> Yeah, her seat is good enough. >> Yep, and the gun is it was clear. >> No, that's not a rifle. >> Yeah, I'll just secure the gun and stuff. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Well, where was the gun? >> I Right on the edge of I can see the edge of it underneath the seat. >> Oh, she's 20. Never mind. Gun is evidence. She's getting charged with carrying a concealed firearm. She's 20. She can't have a concealed firearm. If it's not secure, but it's hidden and easily accessible, it's a concealed firearm. Never mind. Get it back. It's It's evidence. All right. So, you're getting charged with reckless driving, fleeing and eluding a police officer with lights and sirens activated, and carrying a concealed firearm, all right? Whether you agree with it or not, that's what's happening. A female officer is coming to search you, and then you'll be going to our station, okay? >> Okay, well, can I call home? >> You can make calls when you get out to the Volusia County Branch Jail. >> So, I'm not putting my phone in my purse. >> Where's your phone at? >> My phone and my purse and stuff is in her car. >> If you want your phone, we'll get you your phone. They only let us take certain things out there. So, we'll have your ID. >> Yeah, you can leave everything as I just want my phone back. >> Okay. We'll get your phone. And you said it's in your purse? Yeah, well, your phone's in the purse, so it can go with you. >> Well, that can also go in Officer McDowell's car. >> I put the gun in your front seat of your car. >> Uh, we'll give it to McDowell. >> Okay. >> Um, do you have enough to at least get started? >> I believe so. >> And then I'll give you the more specific details. I'll write up the tickets. I'm going to go get my EMT fingerprints. Any questions for me right now? >> your fingerprints? >> I have to go get the I was on my way to get fingerprints. >> that at? >> Uh, basically in Ormond. >> Yeah. Well, I think I got it. Where's the engine going? >> I don't care. Um, as long as something's up or anything. So, you guys got the tow, three charges. All right, thank you for backing me up. >> No problem. >> Have you ever been arrested before? >> No. >> Have you ever been in trouble with the police before? >> Okay. >> All right. I know this is probably a little scary for you and I can understand why. Um, but I'll tell you a little bit about what's going to happen and then I can get things taken care of. Um, so the car's going to be towed, okay? When you talk to your girlfriend at jail, let her know that her car was towed and she can get it out. She just has to bring her driver's license with her and she have to probably pay a towing fee. Okay? Um, you're going to be taken to our jail. You'll be processed there. I'd advise you to just be cooperative as possible. Okay? Once you get processed in our jail, which is going to take about an hour or two, so it won't be quick. Then you'll be taken down to the county jail. When you go in there, being that you haven't been arrested before, uh, I don't know if you'll see a judge this afternoon or not. Um, but if not this afternoon, uh, they may allow you bail. Um, if you're allowed bail, you can call someone, they can get a bailbondsman, and then they can bail you out. And for your traffic offenses, it might be somewhere in the area of four to five hundred dollars. Um and they can take that to the bail bondsman. He will bail you out and you can get out sometime this evening. If they don't give you bail, then you'll go before the judge tomorrow. And then in going before him, um you're going to have to explain to him about the gun that was in the car. Okay. >> I mean, that's not even I don't even know the gun was in the car. >> You didn't know it was in there? Okay. Well, be sure to tell the judge that that you didn't know the gun was in there. You were just using your girlfriend's car. Um you didn't use it anyway. You haven't touched it. You know, that type of thing. Um and so >> I was driving and like coming this way. I didn't see like no sirens and nothing like when I was driving. The only The only way I seen that is when it was literally like coming up here. >> Okay. I'm not sure all the circumstances behind that, but if those lights are on and the siren hit he hits >> want to just like cuz we was in traffic and there was no other like start stop and pull over. So, I just came up here and pulled over. I didn't want to be in the middle of the road. >> I can understand your thinking behind that, but as my sergeant explained cuz I heard him when he called it out. That's a 2600 block. Now, I can pick out four huge parking lots between there and here that you could have stopped at or you could have pulled over. One's being the park. There's a park right over to the left. You could have pulled into the park. Um there's a huge parking lot over on the right hand side right there by the big building. Um Oh, I get that. But, I'm saying if you were looking for some place to pull over, there were lots of opportunities. And that's what my sergeant was explaining to you earlier. There's lots of opportunities. If nothing else, pull over to the side of the road, put your hazards on, and then wait for further direction. If he says, "You know what? I need you to pull off of the roadway." Pull off the roadway on the side street. Or if he says, "Hey, can you pull in that parking lot over to the left?" Pull into the parking lot over to the left. But Understood. Understood. Uh but just be sure to explain that to the judge. And then he might He may, I'm not saying that he will. He may have some leniency in regards to that, especially being that you're a new driver. Uh so that that can come into play with that. So uh Hey, yeah. Yeah. I tried to give him directions on where he could go. Um So yeah, that's the thing there. Um and then as far as your girlfriend, tell her that um she needs to bring the receipt down or the bill of sale for a gun. And I'll present that. But that's going to be a couple of days, too. She won't be able to get her gun back for about 7 to 10 days. That's going to be a little while. >> So what's that? The receipt? >> Yeah. She needs to get the receipt or the bill of sale for the gun. And um she can start working on that. And then when she gets a call or she can call down and ask when she can she pick up her firearm. And they'll let They would They would let her know when when she can do that. >> Yeah, cuz I didn't even know that was in the car at all. >> Okay. Well, just explain that to the judge. Okay, ma'am. Can I have you stand up for me, please? One, two, three. Up. Oh. Nope. Ready? >> We're probably going to try to over side. >> Okay. This side? Okay. Tuck that leg under. There you go. Ready? One, two, three. Up. Oh. There you go. Okay. Have you walk over here to this officer. >> I got to find you. It's at 2600 block. >> Uh that's where this whole started. >> Okay. Hello, I'm Officer King. Come close to the thing here. You can face the car. You have anything on you that will poke me, stick me, harm me? Anything in your bra including money, paper, anything that we put in there. Anything in your underwear that needs to be taken out. You have any open wounds or anything that I need to worry about? Mhm? No. Okay, go ahead and spread your legs for me. All right. Take something else out of your drawers. >> I'll be right back, ma'am. Just give me 2 seconds. How you doing, sir? >> Not bad. Went right by you guys earlier. >> [laughter] >> I told him we're in back of City Hall. >> They said right by City Hall. >> Oh, jeez. In back. Uh you can drop your uh thing right there. White car. Keys are in the ignition switch. >> Okay. >> Thank you, sir. Thank you, ma'am. >> No problem. >> Appreciate that. Okay. >> what things you got? >> Okay. Is it okay if I leave this in your car? Or do you want to keep it with you? >> Did he take my phone? >> Yes, we got your phone. >> Okay. >> All right, thank you so much, ma'am. And your name, ma'am? >> King. >> King? All right, thank you. Thanks for your cooperation. It goes a long way. We're going to buy you a drink, all right? Okay, go ahead and have a seat. Want to turn AC on back here, bro? >> There you go. All right. >> She was charged with fleeing, carrying a concealed weapon, and reckless driving. She was sentenced to 36 months of probation and a 1-year license suspension. Thanks for watching.
