what's up everybody in today's video
we'll be talking about Elon Musk and
Twitter as Elon has decided that from
now on he will be charging 20 a month to
Twitter users if they want to keep their
verified check mark the check mark is
supposed to be a way to authenticate the
user and to prevent impersonation and I
honestly think that elon's decision is
going to bring a lot more problems than
it solves so let's dive into this so
this article about the guardian reads
Elon Musk considers charging Twitter
users 20 a month for verified accounts
the Tesla chief executive is planning
changes to Twitter's blue Subscription
Service according to the tech newsletter
platformer including raising the five
dollars a month fee to twenty dollars
users verify by the platform who carry a
Blue Tick flagging them as an authentic
Source would have 90 days to sign up to
blue or lose their check mark
so is it just a cash grab not
necessarily because Elon said that he's
going to be using this to prevent
impersonation now if you have to pay
twenty dollars a month to become
verified then it's less likely that
someone will be impersonating your
accounts and he wants to verify all of
Twitter however that would be changing
Twitter from a free to use platform to a
paid platform and in this day and age I
don't think that's going to work because
you always want to have the platform
free and then offer some bonus features
take YouTube for example it's free and
then if you want to skip the ads you can
get YouTube premium and then there's
super chats where you can give to
creators and so on but at the end of the
day people can still use the platform
for free so if Elon is trying to verify
every single user and every user has to
pay 20 a month that's just not gonna
happen so he's saying that he's doing
this to fight impersonation but I think
it will just make impersonation much
easier because now all someone will have
to do is pay twenty dollars and then
they'll be able to have their name
verified and then they can take someone
else's name have it verified and it just
opens a huge can of worms now in other
news it's not the only blunder that Elon
had this week regarding Twitter
this article from NBC news says Elon
Musk the new owner of Twitter tweets
unfounded anti-lgbtq conspiracy theory
about Paul Pelosi's attack musk sent the
since deleted tweet which linked to a
story on a website that has a history of
publishing false information to former
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
musk's tweet had more than 24
000 retweets and 86 000 likes late
Sunday morning before he deleted it now
Elon Musk is the owner of Twitter he
should be held to higher standards
especially when it comes to conspiracy
theories I mean he has a responsibility
now as the owner of Twitter in other
news he's considering bringing back Vine
which was closed down quite a few years
ago in response to tick tock now I don't
know if that would be a great idea it
would definitely be a uphill battle
because Tick Tock has a billion users
while Twitter only has 200 million but
but then again who knows he has a
massive wallet so he could do a lot of
promotion advertisement and maybe bring
back Vine who knows so let me know what
you guys think in the comments of this
whole blunder please like And subscribe

you on the next one
