over her shoulder um picked up these
bonus patches and slipped them into the
bag from there she wandered around the
store picking up a couple items she got
this over in cards um she's got um
coloring book and some markers that she
paid for at the register and then she
went over to apparel and got these and
put them in the bag and as she was
walking through the action alley she
pulled off that gray tote first thing
and put it over top of the items in the
bottom these items specifically in the
bottom of the
okay um eventually went up to self
checkout she pulled out the coloring
book and the markers paid for them okay
um waited for her friend and then went
out the grocery doors on of the sidewalk

prosecutor and let them decide what
they're going to do what happens most of
the time so uh I can't speak for the
prosecutor I can only speak for the
process yeah I would assume that they
are going to get our report with our
recommended charges which would be theft
Third which which is a misdemeanor how
much is that which mean is like a money
charge no oh okay so a crime is
punishable by uh a fine Andor
imprisonment oh okay so uh I think theft
is a gross misdemeanor so the absolute
worst case scenario that's what I always
tell somebody uh cuz I can't speak for
the prosecutor but up to one year in
jail 5,000
fine never seen it I've been a cop for
20 plus years never seen it okay I but I
can't speak for the prosecutor okay okay
so I've never even heard of somebody
getting that much but that's by law
that's the worst case scenario it could
be a whole
range I can barely tell you a what's
typical sometimes they're
like it like if you went in and just yep
I'm guilty please have mercy upon me
blah blah blah okay your first offense
we're going to put you on probation for
however long uh pay this fine and
restitution to Walmart oh okay what
probation like what would that like yeah
if you do anything wrong oh okay we're
going to send you off to uh
jail and go that route for punishment
okay right or they could say well uh
we're going to fine you however much up
to 5,000 and you're going to go to jail
for a
day that's possible MH right
so but what is also possible is the
prosecutor read our report and
say nah I'm not going to charge I'm just
going to let this one go go okay uh
usually on a theft from Walmart I
haven't really seen that usually they do
something okay so uh like he was saying
it does count as an arrest
so uh instead of taking you to jail and
fingerprinting you and taking your mug
shot and that kind of
stuff
uh you will have to go to court okay but
we can only do that because you you do
live here in pulman oh okay right yeah
and
so uh we're kind of using our discretion
here since you're kind of being
cooperative and and that kind of stuff
we understand the circumstances you know
but uh so you'll have to go to court
okay and uh court is going to mail you a
letter okay uh to this address in pulman
and they're going to say you need to
show up to court at this location on
this date and time okay they're going to
send that letter one time okay and if
you don't do it they're going to put a
warrant out for your arrest oh God okay
yeah well that's the way it goes okay
so we we'll give you some uh more
information okay about that and
how we don't want you to be paranoid
that hey what if your mail gets stolen
yeah okay well you you can't can call
the prosecutor and say hey I haven't
heard anything I don't want to war for
my arrest so we'll give you the police
case number okay and that kind of stuff
you call with that number then you can
call but that's going to be up on up to
you MH right
so uh generally you're going to get that
letter in about two weeks okay okay

restriction for property okay this is a
trespass for all Walmarts in the United
States this means you come back to any
Walmart that's the parking lot and the
building okay if you do so you can be
arrested for misdemeanor trespassing if
you come back and steal regardless of
the amount where you're not allowed on
the property consider and therefore a
felony okay I need you to clip and sign

is a civil issue as in Walmart actually

me because they don't like me that I
