On August 24th, 2024, police in Wauaaw, Wisconsin were dispatched to a Walmart following reports of an active retail theft. According to loss prevention staff, the suspect, a 42-year-old woman named Kenya, had deliberately altered item prices at the selfch checkckout before attempting to leave the store. When confronted, Kenya became uncooperative and re-entered the store where she proceeded to customer service in an attempt to return the items. Hello. Hi. What's that? She's at the service desk right now. Okay. What's going on? Um, she just stealing. She was using a different ticket to take a choice for a bunch of pulled her in here second off the show. She's trying to return. Okay. So, she has So, she has a legitimate return right now. She's returning Well, she never paid for the items. So, she's returning the sub that she used. These shorts are she was using like some sweatshirt and stuff like that. So that's why she doesn't have any she $10 ticket and that's when I was talking she's saying I mean she's she has like the actual other ticket in her hand and she's like putting it in front of the thing scanning it later. So okay so she tried taking out I guess the things that she was trying to do. So it came out to about 80 something I think. Do you have that uh receipt? Yeah, I do. Yeah. Did you to make purchases or did you do a return? No, we just got done shopping. I spent $500 and something dollars in this [ __ ] Okay. What? Well, it sounds like you didn't actually buy shorts. And this is what I'm telling him. I did have one pair of shorts for $5. They're in there on the counter. The other pair was army for tea. They were over there on the counter. Everything I did on this lady is over there. All the receipts, the the lounger, everything, everything is over there. Every single thing. So, how did how did four or five different shorts? Because for one, you're missing. This is a totally different practice. These are all supposed to be on clearance, I guess. So, these are all the things that I grabbed out of the store. So, that's what they run up as. And like I told him, I got all the items right here. So, if it rung up, you see, I run it plain as day. Every single item, everyone. But I'm not going to. And this is what I'm seeing my soul. All I see is my doctor. All you had to do is come to me and say, "Hey, whatever. I wasn't even going to call the cops." This arrest quickly escalated into a physical and emotional confrontation with Kenya ultimately tased, restrained, and charged after refusing to comply with multiple commands. She claimed to have paid for everything and insisted she was being mistreated, even declaring she was pregnant during the arrest. What's your take?
