Parish Louisiana in the early morning hours of July 5th 2020 a trooper with the Louisiana State Police Troop elf tried to conduct a traffic stop on the 2020 Toyota ra 4 for traffic violations the driver identified as 31-year-old ero Johnson of West Monroe Louisiana refused to stop and a high-s speeed Pursuit ensued 35 on try to get the well five all right we're taking taking the calhoon exit Tak an X 101 almost we're south on 151 speed's about 75 no traffic vle I uh some sort of black SUV I'm not even sure I hadn't had a chance to even running yet November 5509 407 taking a right on 80 taking a right heading west on 80 [Music] about to bail about to bail Arrow exit his vehicle with a firearm and his changed gunfire with the trooper shots fired shots fired shots fired while Earl and a trooper were exchanging gunfire his this passenger jump out the car and it appears that she may have been [Applause] shot get out get out get out get out grai [Music] West that's the last I heard 151 with caution the responding Troopers Tred to safely give Aid to the passenger without knowing the whereabouts of Earl you craw to us crawl to us us I'm working on it I don't know look don't get out there look he may still be in front of the vehicle man we got help coming where who's that over there y'all have anybody right toward you crawl back to me crawl to me where you sh at black I couldn't tell he bailed out fast it looked like it I'm the I'm from I got some get behind my vehicle get behind my vehicle huh right there just stay right there we're coming just stay right there I information about the shooter come here come on cam get back here ma'am ma'am who shot you he did he shot you okay look he came through the window okay down sit down sit down sit down you shot look I'm getting a tour okay you're going to somebody to get her out they're not going to come to you somebody get her back there to the gas station what somebody get her to the can I get my can get no we're not getting your Pur right now look we're going to be okay we got an ambulance coming to you okay my phone it's on the ground I dropped it when I run I was on the phone with the cop and I ran and I dropped it who is that his name is arrol what he say I call Errol Johnson is his name a white M or black he out here in C he's giving me a ride home okay all right I don't even know where I'm pistol yeah hell yeah I fired off about three or four five shots I don't know if I ever hit him or not I don't think I did all right look if we do it let's how how we going to do it loud man approach see nothing all right be looking back there okay after clearing a vehicle there were no signs of ear and a man hunt began a res of the area try to help the Troopers by showing them his home video time for a little bit and we'll get somebody to get with you cuz we're going to need them cameras okay okay well listen hey look take my phone I got to go come for my I got to go come for my fiance bro she's crying look when you go back in there please don't come back out okay going all right the female passenger was not shot but she suffered minor injuries and she was treated at a local hospital Troopers decided not to pursue Earl in the dense wood of area during the dart but gets a warrant for his arrest for attempted second-degree murder of a police officer on July 6 and July 7th days after the shooting Earl Cass Johnson made these posts on Facebook [Music] book and just a couple hours before the Troopers catch up to Earl he goes live on Facebook which is now muted but it shows Earl with a firearm and repeatedly looking out his hotel window on July 8th 2020 just 3 days after the shooting the Troopers track Earl to motel in Maro Louisiana around 1:00 a.m. according to the news reports while trying to serve the warrant they tried to take him into custody but he refused to surrender and began shooting at Troopers again Earl and the Troopers exchanged
