Today's video was recorded on May 28th,
2024 at approximately 6:05 p.m. in the
Wedgewood Apartments on the city of
Columbus's west side. Wedgwood is known
as the deadliest neighborhood in
Columbus. Due to this reputation, a
special enforcement team was created to
fight crime in the area. On this day,
members of the Wedgewood enforcement
team were coordinating with officers in
unmarked vehicles looking for gang
related activity. That's when the
officers spotted a man carrying a gun in
his pocket, and stopped to talk to him.
The officers recovered a Glock pistol
with an illegal switch installed, making
the weapon fully automatic. The firearm
was also equipped with an extended
magazine.
