The story begins at a unique high school called Sky High, floating high above the clouds. This is no ordinary school. Only children with superpowers are allowed to attend. Every student here is born with a special ability. [music] Now, we meet Will Stronghold, the son of two legendary superheroes, Steve Stronghold and Josie Stronghold. Steve possesses incredible super strength, [music] while Josie can fly at lightning speed. To hide their identities among regular people, they work as real estate agents in the city of [music] Maxwell. But whenever danger strikes, they immediately don their superhero suits and rush [music] to save lives. Will has dreamed since childhood of becoming a great superhero like his parents, but there's a big problem. He hasn't shown any powers yet. Today is Will's first day at Sky High. Just then, [music] his dad Steve calls him into his room. Will quickly pretends to lift heavy dumbbells, trying to hide the truth that he still has no powers. >> [music] >> Will's best friend Layla, who has the power to control plants, is with him. They've been friends since [music] childhood and are going to Sky High together. Suddenly, Steve receives an emergency alert. A massive [music] robot is attacking downtown. Steve and Josie immediately put on their superhero suits and rush to the scene. With one powerful punch, Steve knocks the robot down and takes its glowing eye as a trophy [music] of victory. A flying school bus soon arrives to pick up the students. Will and Layla hop on. The driver, Ron Wilson, instantly [music] treats Will with special respect when he hears he's the son of Steve and Josie. Will sits next [music] to his friend Jack, and as all the super students settle in, Ron opens the bus wings and lifts [music] it straight into the sky. The sudden flight makes the kids scream in fear, but moments later, [music] they arrive at Sky High, a stunning school floating in the clouds. Ron explains [music] that Sky High constantly changes its location in the sky, so no supervillain can ever find it. Only [music] a select few know where it is. He even gives Will his business card in case of emergencies. Inside the school, Will and the new students watch [music] the seniors display their powers. Some stretch their bodies like rubber, while others run at lightning speed. The new [music] students are amazed, but then, two bullies appear. Lash, who can stretch his body like rubber, and Speed, [music] who runs incredibly fast. They start demanding school fees from the new kids. Suddenly, Gwen arrives and stops them. [music] Sweetly, she begins explaining the school rules to the newcomers, but Will isn't paying attention to her words. He's completely distracted by her [music] beauty. Soon, Principal Powers arrives to welcome all the new students and announces that the power placement [music] test will begin shortly. This test will decide which students go to hero class and which ones are placed in sidekick [music] class. Suddenly, the door bursts open and in walks Coach Boomer, who will be conducting [music] the test. The rules are clear. Every student will step onto the stage and showcase their superpower. Then, Coach Boomer will decide if they're fit [music] to be a hero or just a sidekick. First up is Jack. He tries to show his power, but nothing [music] happens at first. Then, he explains that his ability is to glow in the dark. >> [music] >> But, Coach Boomer finds this power useless and immediately assigns him to sidekick class. Jack protests, but Coach [music] Boomer blasts him across the room with a sonic boom. Next, Ethan transforms his body into a water-like liquid, yet [music] he is still sent to sidekick class. Magenta, a shapeshifter, can only turn into a guinea pig, so she [music] too is placed in sidekick class. One by one, several students take the stage [music] and Coach Boomer assigns them as heroes or sidekicks based on their abilities. Now, it's Layla's [music] turn. Coach Boomer asked her to show her power, but she refuses. She says that no one should be labeled hero or sidekick just by their power. Coach Boomer doesn't like her attitude and [music] sends her straight to the sidekick group. During lunch, Will sits with the other sidekicks quietly eating. He notices a boy sitting behind him glaring angrily. Jack [music] explains, "That's Warren Peace. His mom is a superhero and his dad was a supervillain. Your dad sent his father to prison for [music] life. That's why he hates you." Will ignores him and continues eating silently. After lunch, Coach Boomer calls Will onto the stage [music] and says, "Come on, show us your superpower." Will panics. After a moment of silence, he confesses, "Actually, [music] I don't have any powers." Coach Boomer thinks he's joking, so they drop a car on him to force him to reveal [music] his strength. Still, nothing happens. Screaming in pain, Will insists, "I'm telling the truth. I have no powers." Coach Boomer guesses maybe he can fly like his mom, so they throw him across the hall, but Will doesn't fly. He crashes straight onto a pile of mats. Even Coach Boomer is shocked. [music] Seeing no powers at all, they assign him to sidekick class and send him to the nurse's office for a checkup. [music] The school doctor scans Will's entire body with her x-ray vision. Everything appears completely normal. Nervously, Will asks, "When will my superpower show up?" The doctor explains, [music] "Some kids get powers after being bitten by radioactive insects or falling into toxic waste, or they don't survive at all, but powers inherited from parents [music] have no set time to appear." She continues, "Most children have only one superhero [music] parent. In very rare cases, when both parents are superheroes, sometimes the child ends up with no powers at all." Hearing [music] this, Will panics. He asks, "Is there anyone else like me whose parents were both superheroes, but they got no powers?" The doctor nods, "Yes, >> [music] >> one. The school bus driver, Ron Wilson. His parents were also superheroes, but he never got [music] a single superpower." Hearing this, Will feels his heart sink. For the first time, he starts to believe that [music] maybe he'll never get a superpower. That evening, Will tries to tell his dad, Steve, the truth, but Steve is already thrilled that his son is now attending Sky High. Proudly, he says, "When I went to Sky High, your grandfather gave me our secret sanctuary, [music] and now I'm giving it to you. I've added new biometric locks. Only your mom, you, and I can open it." Then he firmly warns, "Remember, never bring anyone else here. This place [music] is only for the Stronghold family." Will opens the hidden door, and they step inside. Will is amazed by the sight, an underground layer filled with trophies [music] from past missions. There are even dangerous supervillain weapons stored here. Steve places the glowing eye of the giant robot [music] they defeated today on a shelf. Then he shows a small object and says, "This is the Royal Pain's pacifier. [music] The day I defeated him was also the first day your mom and I fought together. That's when I realized we were meant for each [music] other." Smiling, Steve continues, "One day, you'll defeat villains, too, and their weapons will be trophies [music] here. Then the three of us will fight evil together. What they don't realize is that a hidden camera is inside the robot's eye. Far away, Royal Pain and his partner Stitches are watching them. Still, Will cannot bring himself to tell his parents that he has no superpowers. [music] Heartbroken, he goes to the rooftop alone. Just then, his friend Layla rises with her plant powers and encourages him. So, what if you were placed in sidekick class? I know one day you'll be a real hero. You don't need powers to be a hero. A true hero is someone who helps [music] others. The next day, they sit Mr. Boy's class, where sidekicks are trained to assist real heroes in the field. Jack raises a question. Sir, [music] when do we get our superhero names and costumes? Mr. Boy exhales and says, "You don't choose your name or costume. On graduation day, [music] a great superhero chooses you. They give you your new name and costume. Commander chose me. That's why I got this red and blue suit." Will, surprised, asks, "Wait, you actually worked with my dad?" Mr. Boy, slightly startled, nods. "Yes. Didn't Steve or Josie ever tell you about me?" Will quietly shakes his head. [music] No. Hearing this, Mr. Boy feels a little sad, but says nothing. He continues his class, teaching the sidekicks how to support real heroes in the field. The next [music] day at school, Lash and Speed are once again bothering the bus driver, Ron Wilson. [music] But this time, Will steps up and stops them. Surprisingly, both bullies say nothing and quietly walk away. However, during lunch, they try to get back [music] at him. As Will sits down with his tray, Lash grabs his leg and yanks hard. Will falls to the floor, and his entire tray flies straight onto Warren Peace's [music] table. Seeing this, Warren erupts in anger. Flames shoot from his hands because his power is controlling fire. >> [music] >> Will tries to avoid the fight, but Warren isn't listening. He starts throwing fireballs relentlessly. Will runs toward the fire alarm to put out the flames, [music] but Lash trips him again, and he falls. Terrified, Will hides under a table. Warren begins attacking Will's friends, too, [music] throwing fire at them. Seeing his friends in danger, something changes inside Will, and in that moment, his super strength [music] awakens. Fueled by anger, Will punches Warren with incredible force, sending him crashing across [music] the cafeteria. Warren, even angrier, rushes to attack again, but this time Will quickly [music] grabs a fire extinguisher and sprays him, putting out all the flames. Principal Powers arrives just [music] then, immediately catching both and sending them to the detention room. Warren tries to fight again, but the detention [music] room is specially designed so that all superpowers stop working. Here, they are just like ordinary kids. Principal Powers [music] sternly tells them, "Sky High teaches you how to use your powers, but whether you use them for good or for evil, [music] that choice is yours. Think. Will you honor your father's legacy or ruin it with foolish decisions?" She leaves them to reflect. Will tries to forget the [music] past and reach out to Warren in friendship, but Warren firmly refuses and warns him that if he comes near again, he will [music] destroy him. Meanwhile, Will's parents finally discover that his super strength has awakened. Steve is overjoyed and gives Will [music] a special gift in celebration, but they don't realize that Royal Pain and Stitches are still watching the Stronghold family through the hidden camera in the robot's eye. They are waiting for the perfect moment [music] to steal back the Pacifier device. Back at school, Will's friends learn about his new power. [music] They are thrilled and continuously congratulate him. Now, with real super strength, Will is promoted from sidekick class to hero [music] class. He doesn't want to leave his friends behind, but they encourage him to move forward. In hero class that day, Professor Medulla is teaching. He pairs Will with Gwen as lab partners and assigns them a project [music] to build a heat ray machine. Will is completely lost and doesn't know where to start, but Gwen uses her techno- pathy powers to construct [music] the machine in seconds. Will is left completely astonished. Gwen smiles and says that if he wants, she could even tutor him privately. Will's excitement [music] is impossible to hide. During lunch this time, Will sits down with Gwen. After a while, Layla and the rest of the sidekick [music] friends join them. But then, Penny creates dozens of clones, filling the entire table, [music] forcing Layla and the others to leave. Will feels really bad seeing this. After lunch, he approaches Layla and apologizes. [music] She forgives him, but playfully gives him a little punishment. She says, "Tonight, you're taking me out for dinner." Will immediately agrees and promises that he will [music] come. Later that day, Lash and Speed start bothering Ethan and Jack again. This time, Will steps in to stop them. [music] Angered, the bullies challenge him to a practice fight called save the citizen. Will doesn't want to fight, but Ethan and Jack accept the challenge [music] on his behalf. Soon, the match begins. In this practice, Lash and Speed act as villains, and Will must fight as a hero. But, [music] there's a twist. He has to team up with the boy who hates him the most, Warren Peace. Both step onto the field ready for battle. Coach Boomer explains the rules. Will and Warren are the heroes. You [music] have 3 minutes to save the citizen. Fail, and the match is over. A dummy citizen is suspended on a rotating platform. [music] As Will rushes to save them, Speed zips in at lightning speed to stop him. Furious, Will [music] punches the ground hard, creating a shock wave that sends Lash and Speed flying. He immediately grabs Lash, spinning [music] and tying his stretchable body so he can't move. Meanwhile, Speed runs so fast around Warren that his oxygen runs low. Struggling to breathe, Warren can't [music] use his fire powers. Only 20 seconds remain. Will looks at the citizen hanging in front of him and at Warren [music] struggling to breathe. He makes a decision. Will abandons saving the citizen for the moment. He grabs Speed [music] first and hurls him hard toward Lash. Both villains crash to the ground. Then, Will lifts Warren and throws him [music] straight toward the spinning platform. Warren instantly uses his fire power to blast the trap [music] and, in the final second, saves the citizen. The entire arena erupts in [music] applause. Together, Will and Warren win the challenge. Afterward, Will tries again to befriend [music] Warren, but Warren shows no interest. Later that day, Gwen comes to Will's house to work on their science project. His parents, Steve and Josie, immediately take [music] a liking to her. Gwen smiles and says, "I'm the head of this year's homecoming event. It would make me so happy if you both were our chief guests." Steve [music] and Josie happily agree. Meanwhile, Will's full attention is on Gwen, and because of [music] that, he completely forgets one very important thing, the dinner he promised Leila. That night at the restaurant, Leila sits alone waiting for Will, but he never shows up. After a long while, Warren Peace arrives. [music] He works at the same restaurant and sits beside her. Leila tells him that she and Will have been best friends since [music] childhood. Warren smirks slightly and says, "So, you've liked Will all this time?" Leila immediately denies it. "No, it's nothing like that. We're just friends." [music] Warren smiles and says, "No need to lie. Everyone at school can see it. Anyone can tell you love him. I don't know why you haven't told him, but [music] trust me, when you do, it will feel good." His words touch Leila's heart. She thinks that maybe if she goes to homecoming with Will, he will finally understand her feelings. Meanwhile, at Will's house, Steve shows Gwen his old school yearbook. He points to a girl named Sue Tenny, who looks exactly like Gwen. Steve explains, "This girl disappeared [music] from school suddenly. Some say she became a super villain. Others say she died." Gwen goes silent, startled. Later, Will walks Gwen home. Before leaving, she asks, "Will, will you go to homecoming with me?" Will [music] has liked Gwen for a long time, so he immediately says yes. Gwen kisses him, and Will walks home, ecstatic. [music] Meanwhile, Royal Pain has repaired the pacifier device and is planning to attack Sky High on homecoming night. The next day, Leila musters courage and [music] asks Will, "Will, will you go to homecoming with me?" But Will interrupts her saying, "Oh, I'm already going with Gwen." Leila's heart [music] breaks. Quietly, she says, "Okay, then I'll go with Warren." Will is shocked. "You're going with that crazy guy? He's my biggest enemy. [music] You don't even know him." Leila calmly replies, "You didn't come last night, so I had dinner with Warren, and we became [music] friends." At lunch, Leila now sits with Warren and the other sidekicks. Will feels terrible seeing this. [music] He tries several times to approach her, but Gwen always drags him away. One night, Steve and Josie go on a superhero mission, [music] leaving the house empty. Gwen takes the opportunity to throw a party with her friends. Seeing so many people, Will thinks about inviting Leila and the others, too, but Gwen stops him. She [music] takes him to a separate room, straight to the secret sanctuary, kisses him, and completely [music] distracts him. At the same time, Speed sneaks in, steals the pacifier device, and escapes. Meanwhile, Layla passes by [music] the house. Hearing loud music, she goes inside. Gwen immediately notices her and quickly sends Will to fetch drinks. [music] Layla asks Gwen, "Where's Will?" Gwen looks her in the eyes and coldly says, "Will ignores you because he knows you love him, but he doesn't like you." Hearing [music] this, Layla's heart breaks. She quietly starts to leave. Will sees her and runs to stop her, [music] but she leaves before he can say anything. Will asks Gwen, "What did you say to her? Why did she leave so upset?" [music] Gwen answers coldly, "I just told her the truth. You're a hero, and she's only a sidekick. No matter how hard she tries, she can [music] never reach your level. Now, it's your choice. Will you choose your true friends or those useless sidekicks?" Will, furious, shouts, "Layla has been my best friend since childhood, [music] and because of you, she's upset with me. I never expected this from you. I've made my decision. I'm [music] not going to homecoming with you." Just then, Steven and Josie return home. Seeing the state of the house, they angrily kick everyone out of the party. Later, Will goes to the restaurant and messages Layla, asking to meet her, but she doesn't [music] show up. Then, Warren approaches him and says, "She only loves you. She used me just to make you jealous." The next night, Josie asks Will to go to homecoming, but he refuses. [music] Sitting at home, he flips through his dad's old school yearbook. Suddenly, he sees a photo of Sue Tenny [music] holding the pacifier device. In that moment, Will realizes the truth. Gwen is actually Royal Pain's daughter. He immediately calls bus driver Ron Wilson for help. Meanwhile, the homecoming event at Sky High has already begun. Gwen warmly welcomes Steven and Josie, but [music] suddenly, in front of everyone, she reveals the shocking truth. "I am Royal Pain," she announces. [music] Everyone is stunned. Up until now, Royal Pain's voice had always sounded masculine, but it was a voice changer in her suit. [music] Just then, Stitches arrives and hands her the pacifier device. Gwen immediately uses it to turn Steven and Josie into small crying children. One by one, she begins transforming everyone in the gym into children. [music] Students try to escape, but Lash, Speed, and Penny block all the doors. Meanwhile, Layla and the other sidekicks [music] open the roof vents and try to escape from above. At the same time, Ron Wilson arrives in his flying bus and brings Will to Sky High. Will enters through the vents and rescues his [music] friends. His friends explain that Gwen has turned everyone into children. Will responds, "Then we fight together. [music] Hero or sidekick, doesn't matter. Today, we all work as a team to stop her." Leila is still upset and starts [music] yelling at him, but Will silences her with a quick small kiss. Just then, Penny, Lash, and Speed arrive. Will rushes [music] straight toward Gwen while Leila and the rest of the team tackle the three villains. Lash goes searching for Ethan in the bathroom, but Ethan quickly turns his body into liquid and grabs Lash's head, dunking it straight into the toilet. [music] Speed tries to attack, but Ethan slips under him, causing Speed to lose balance and crash into a wall. Meanwhile, Penny attacks [music] Leila with dozens of clones, but Leila uses her powers to grow vines all around, trapping every [music] clone. Angrily, Penny shouts, "Fight all you want, but Sky High is finished!" In reality, [music] Royal Pain has shut down the school's anti-gravity system. In just a few minutes, Sky High will plummet from [music] the sky. The team quickly studies the map of the control room. To enter, they need permission from Principal Powers, but she has been turned into a small child. So, they come up with a clever plan. They [music] send Magenta through the pipes in her guinea pig form to reach the control room. Meanwhile, Gwen and Stitches are stuffing the tiny shrunken superheroes into a bus. Gwen cradles baby Steve in her arms and says, "I'll raise them like my own children and build my very own supervillain academy." Angrily, [music] she continues, "Sky High humiliated me. They called a clever student, Sue Tenny, just a sidekick. [music] Now, I'll make everyone pay and show the world my true power." Suddenly, Will bursts into the room. Calmly, he says, "I know what happened with your mom because of my parents was wrong, but that doesn't give you the right to hurt everyone [music] else." Gwen laughs and snaps, "You still don't get it, fool. Sue Tenny isn't my mom. I am Sue Tenny." She reveals that when the pacifier shattered, [music] she had turned into a child. Stitches raised her, and now she's back to take her revenge. Gwen attacks Will instantly. He fights back, shoving her to the ground, but then Layla and Warren arrive, distracting him for a split second. [music] Gwen seizes the moment, punches Will hard, and sends him flying out of the building. As he plummets toward the ground, Will's flight powers suddenly awaken, just like his mother's. He rockets [music] back into the air and crashes into Gwen with full force, sending her sprawling. Gwen pretends to be unconscious, and Will hesitates, [music] exactly as she planned. Meanwhile, she rushes to the control panel and shuts down the anti-gravity system. Sky High begins plummeting [music] fast toward the ground. Will flies down, desperately trying to hold the school in place. He uses all his strength, barely keeping [music] it from crashing. At the perfect moment, Magenta, still in her guinea pig form, navigates the pipes to the control room and cuts the wires. [music] Instantly, the anti-gravity system reactivates, and Sky High floats safely back into the sky. Stitches [music] tries to escape with the shrunken superheroes in the bus, but as the bus lifts off, Ron Wilson kicks him out. Meanwhile, Professor Medulla, still a child, [music] uses his genius mind to repair the Pacifier device. With it, he restores everyone to their original age. Steve [music] and Josie thank Will and his friends, awarding them special trophies for saving Sky High. Finally, everyone reunites at the homecoming party. Will soars through the air, lifts Layla beside him, and kisses her in front of everyone. Gwen and her allies are locked in the powerless detention room, [music] their evil plans foiled forever. And in a funny twist, Ron Wilson accidentally [music] falls into toxic waste, finally gaining real super powers. And that's [music] where this thrilling story ends.
