All [Music] right, today's video actually has a lot of really interesting kind of law enforcement topics that people in the public generally don't quite understand. So, I'm really excited to present this information to you. Uh, the best way to do it is I'm actually going to be walking you through this video. So, I'll be popping in and out. Uh, the date on this one was April the 30th, 2024 at about 9:00 am. Uh, we were dispatched to a call. I want to make sure I don't run into YouTube problems here, but this was an assault. It was a man assaulting a woman in a bedroom. That's what the call was. So, if you can get the nature of what we're looking at here. Uh, this call came from a duplex. So, it's a house that's uh been cut in the middle and there's people that live on both sides. People that live on the north side of this duplex were calling in saying that they can hear a woman yelling and screaming for help and it sounds like something bad is happening to her in a bedroom. So, they called the police. Uh the video is going to pick up where we have already arrived on scene. Um I was actually the first officer on scene in this particular case. I I walked immediately to the back door of the house because I've been to this house before and I know that that's the door that everybody always uses. I walk slowly kind of around the building listening to see if I can I can hear any um any sounds. It sounds like a woman might be assaulted to know if I need to make immediate entry into the home. Uh when we arrived, we didn't get anything that would say we need to make immediate entry into the home. So, we got lots of officers on scene. We surrounded the house, began knocking, making announcements, and then we're going to have to make a a discussion, make a decision on whether or not we have an exigent circumstance that would allow us to enter this home without a warrant. Uh, for those of you that don't know what an exigent circumstance is, there's a uh there's kind of a list of them. And in this case, what we're looking at is whether or not there is a woman in this house that needs our help and they need that help immediately or if it's a circumstance where, you know, nobody is in danger and we can go ahead and get a hold of a judge, get a warrant, and come back and search this house. So, there's a little bit of that discussion that's going to go on in here. And that's one of the main focuses of this video. After that, you're going to see us actually search the house, and we will find the alleged uh victim and perpetrator, and I'm going to walk you through all of that discussion once we get there. So, here we are. We have the house surrounded, and we're starting to talk about what's going to happen next. So far, everything sounds no [Music] more. They're checking to make sure it's not I haven't done anything. All [Applause] right, we're knocking now. All the police open up. coming. Anything in the front? What's up? Anybody at the front yet? I know, but someone hollered at us and then went away. No one here. Okay, open the door up. Talk to us. I'm assuming they barricade that door. I know you're in there. Open up. We can hear you in there. So, open the way in and out. Talking in there. Just open the door and talk to us. Hey guys, the house is surrounded. We need to talk to you. Come to the door. Sooner the better we just talk to you and get out of here. Make sure everybody's okay. One of the common misconceptions that is spread about the internet is that officers are just a bunch of robots who are just out there following orders that we can't think for ourselves. It's actually quite laughable because as a police officer on scene, I actually have a lot of autonomy. I don't have to ask my supervisor for permission if I'm going to do something. Uh but in this particular case, I happen to have a supervisor supervisor who was standing right next to me. He's like standing right over there. And uh we were about to kick this door. I knew we were about to kick this door. But since he was on scene, I decided to go ahead and ask him if he agreed with that recommendation because at the end of the day, he's the one that has to write the letter. And if you got a supervisor on scene and then you do the wrong thing, uh he's going to get in trouble. So you're going to hear me ask the supervisor, "Hey, are we on the same page?" Because here's what I'm about to do. You're also about to see my demeanor change dramatically. You're going to get to see a part of Officer Badger that you've never seen on any of these videos before. Whatever it was, it's done. It's just a matter of if we can rely on them. The neighbors sounded pretty convincing to me just the way they described it. Come to the door. Let us talk to you. Make sure everybody's okay. Do you mind if I tell them we're going to boot the door if they don't [ __ ] open it? All right. I think we're heading. Listen, we're about to v your [ __ ] door. So, come out and talk to us right now. We need to make sure the people inside are okay. We're not leaving. Got some attention, didn't they? You need to open that door. We got about 14 cops out here ready to come inside. Everybody's fine. Open the door right now. That was [ __ ] funny. Get the dog inside. That's probably secure the dog. You're all right, buddy. Open the door. You're running out of time. This is getting ready to happen. Open the door. Little donkey kick. I'm ready. Got a little open the door. about a minute. We're going to kick it. Giving you every opportunity to come open this door. Will you go ahead and grab the ramp so we have it ready? We don't need a warrant. Open the door. Everybody here. We're not taking your word for it. Open the door. Show your face. Let's go. We got to make sure there isn't somebody else in there that's dead and can't talk. We're coming in. So, Ram's here. Yeah, we're not we're not getting a warrant. We're coming in. So, right on S8 Mini. Okay. Well, you're about to find out. We don't have to have a warrant. You want me on that? There's no sense of putting more stuff in front of the door. Okay. I told you we're not getting it warm. We're about to come in. You can keep saying that. Why? We already explained to you what we need to do. If you look through Yeah. Columbus police, open the door. We're coming in. Columbus police, this is your last chance. Open the door. We're going to force entry. Coming in. We need to see your hands when we come in. All righty. So, at this point in the video, I'm I bet you're wondering why are these officers having such a hard time getting through this door? Well, this particular door is barricaded. If you've seen those old school kind of castle barricades where they've got a bracket on either side of the door and then a big piece of wood in the middle, that's what these people did to the back door of this house. and then they pushed a refrigerator and a stove up against it trying to prevent us from entering the home. Um, that's why it takes two officers a bunch of effort and about a minute and a half to get through this. Take a break. Take a break, Nick. Oh, here we go. Back up. Back up. Police. All right. So, now that the officers have entered the home, uh, now they go into search mode. They're looking for suspects, but they're also looking for anybody that might be in the house. Anyone that's in the house must be removed from that house before they can continue on with their search. And that's what's going to happen now. Police Department. Show your hands now. Tell us where you're at. Come out with your hands up. In the basement. Come out here with your hands up. Come out now. Hands up. Hands up. Let me see your hands. Turn around. Who else is down there? Walk back. Walk back here. How many straight back there? Turn around. Who else is down there? Walk back. Walk back here. Straight back. Straight back. How many people are here? Palms together. Put his palms together. Josh, get that window. [Music] regards to I didn't put her down or anything. All right, I'm just letting Anyone else here? Come up the stairs now with your hands up right here. Hands up. Turn around. Walk backwards. Keep coming. How many people are in here? I was just I just woke up. Keep coming. Come here. Face away. Anybody else? Come upstairs. Put your hands up now. Palms together. We don't want to send a dog in there. Come up. Another hand. Hurry up. I'll just go. My car's in the alley, too. How many more people's inside there? I I just woke up. I'm asking why am I being detained? Huh? All right. Show your hands as you come to the back door. One at a time. Come on. Just push it down. How many more people upstairs? Go this way. Get your blanket off. Lift the blanket off. Put the blanket off. Step out. Keep coming. Who's next? Somebody else. Come now. Turn around. Hands up and come this way to the back door. Any weapons on you? Come on. Hands up. Walk back this way. You're fine. Just listen to what we're telling you. Okay. Yep. Keep coming. Keep coming. How many more people in here? Drop that. Drop that. What's in your purse? Come out here. Next person. Come on. Has anybody answered the question? How many? No. No. Huh? like to prevent a head. How many people were we in here? Well, I know there's a mail in here, so I heard your voice. Get out here now. Huh? Where's the mail at? See if she can find Where's the guy? Let's go. The mail came. I'm going to open this. Okay, move that. Okay, hold that nick right in front of you. Just get that all the way out of the way. Just throw back. I'm going to open this. Police department. Who's in the basement? I'm going to cover his mom and I'll go down with him. All right, you guys ready? You good over there? Yeah. Basement good? Yep. Basement's good. Did you check? Okay. Just making sure. I just wanted to look up too because it's kind of messy. Police coming up down there. [Applause] Yep. All right, this area is clear about the couch here. I got long. Good. All right, let's hold this until they're ready. Yeah, I'm going to snap back in here. Yep. Back. There's a closed door here. We good everywhere else. No attic access here. We all good behind me. All right. Got this isolated door. Police department. Yeah. Somebody want to breach this for me? Ready? Ready? Yep. Now, show me your hands. Get your hands up. Hands up. Move away. Turn around. Step away from each other and turn around. Get over here now. Show me your hands. Get your hands up. Hands up. Move away. Turn around. Step away from each other. Turn around. Turn around. Behind behind your back. Palms together. Hands behind your back. Walk just like that. Any kind of weapons or anything like that on you? Pocket over there on the other side. Got a lighter. Yep. Phone. Come on out. You see? Come on out. Get all that stuff out in a sec. Ridiculous. Yeah. Be hiding behind a freaking door, hugging each other. No, we're coming in. So, they searched the entire house. They pulled a bunch of women out of the downstairs. They got upstairs and we now have our suspect and our alleged victim in this bedroom. That's who we have right here. Um, the next part of the video you're going to see is actually me going and talking to the alleged victim about what happened and determining whether or not we actually have a case of an assault that was happening in a bedroom. Sorry, the lights are off in here. Must be broken or something. What's that? My lights are on me. No, usually we turn the lights on. Let's back here, but it's not working. Just being That's okay. So, it's probably easier for you. Do you have any idea why we're here? Huh? Do you have any idea why we're out here today? No, I'm still in because I have no idea. Okay. People reported some screaming coming from that side of the house this morning. No scaring. No, they did this like two or three times already. Like there's no there's no ice cream from now. No, I know for a fact I was sleeping. I woke up and got ice cream. I would have woke up. Okay. Where were you sleeping? Upstairs. Upstairs front bedroom when you were asleep? Yes. Was anyone in the room with you? My fiance. Okay. Were you guys both asleep? Yes. Nobody doing out there? No. Nothing. That's why I said asked for mail. Like there's no I don't know any mail that was there. Is he the only one that was in the house? No, I was sleep. I heard I think I heard a guy downstairs. I'm not sure. Okay. Cuz somebody was talking to us through a window. I'm just not sure who it was. The person I saw was talking with was a girl. We heard a man and a woman. It might have been trying to Okay. There's nobody. I mean, nobody died. There's no Okay. Well, we just we're trying to make sure somebody wasn't being attacked in the house. No, I swear. Okay. Well, we we'll be It could be me crying or something like But that'll be hurt. Like why would you have been crying? Cuz like me and him um I don't think that's the case though cuz that was just like just like fighting, you know what I mean? Like not not fighting physically when not even arguing. It was me by myself like kind of upset before he came up and and me but I was just like can you tell me why you were upset? Just seeing it with another girl and stuff. But we weren't even fighting about that. Like we really weren't screaming or anything. Like I was by myself and I cried. But I was not booing that loud and I know our walls are so big in the house and they scream and shout all the time and we know that they're screaming and shouting and they yell help and all that. I think a dog is on you know like I walls are so you can literally hear people walking upstairs. It sounds like they're walking up our stairs. Okay. Like our they know our walls are so I don't know why they can't um I think that they're honestly they're doing it on purpose. They just keep going. So legitimate question you were crying. I understand that. Yeah. Did you kind of put your face in your pillow maybe so that you wouldn't cry loud or you're crying in your hands or No. Did your boyfriend come up and give you a hug and try to tell you everything's going to be okay? No. I mean, I just cried like I mean I know I cried cuz I cried a little bit like it wasn't I mean not that would be embarrassed if I was crying that loud just like oh so yeah. I mean if you guys are I cried myself to sleep. That's it. Okay. And then I I woke up inside of me and you guys were begging me to do it. So, you hadn't been asleep for very long before we started banging on the door. Not for a single amount of time. Okay. All right. Well, hang tight for a minute. I'm going to close the door, walk around, talk to everyone that I can. And I didn't know I can't just walk down to open the door. Everybody's in there. Like, I would have opened the door myself if not, you know what I mean? Like, I They would have literally later on I would found that or something because that's not my house. I can't just open the door. You know what I mean? Well, it's a sign that you should be in that house. I know. That's what I said, too. Like, they're not going to be out. You have to Yeah. Mhm. Or else stupid cuz you know what goes on in that house, right? I mean, I just Yeah, it's [ __ ] I don't know. But that's what why I can't open the door, you know? Like I'm not We're not Who's who runs the house? White dude, black dude. Um I don't know what to talk about. I guess they're not there anymore. They're no longer there. They're never here. No, they're not there anymore. They're done. This place is done. But everyone just crouches here pretty much. I mean, the person who's uh faced in doesn't mine, so she's not here. She's not. Okay. All right. Hang tight for a minute. All right. So, at the end of the day, what did we actually have? We didn't really have much. Um, we were called because we were told that there's a woman being assaulted in a bedroom. When we found the woman, she said that she wasn't being assaulted. She didn't want any help. We don't have a victim. We don't have a crime. Uh the only thing that left us with is we did have a lot of people that were legally detained. Uh that we were we had the legal authority to detain everybody was that was in that house due to the circumstances of that call. All of those people got run for warrants. I believe one or two one or two of them did have warrants. So they ended up going to jail on on those. Uh the next thing that we had to do was get a hold of the landlord and determine whether or not anybody was allowed to be there. Uh if there were if there was not supposed to be anyone there, the landlord would then have to respond to scene and um and trespass those people, say, "Look, this is my place. You guys broke in. You're not allowed to be here. You know, we can look at charging them with trespassing, burglary, any of those kinds of things." To my knowledge, I don't believe we were able to get a hold of the landlord in this case. So, what we did is our we put our strongest um uh we did our best to persuade these people to leave this house and never come back. So, I know that I personally escorted a couple of those females in to get their clothes and their purses and things. Um escorted them out of the house and said, "Listen, you don't live here. Go find someplace else to be." Um and then we left. I don't know if there was any further problems in that house uh in the near future after that. It's not really something that was of my concern. But that was everything in the video. Uh, thank you for watching. I'll talk to you guys later. [Music] [Music]
