if I'm winning that type of money you will not see my face [Music] so the New York Post is reporting that the Los Angeles store owners who sold Wednesday night's 1 billion dollar Powerball ticket believe the winner is an elderly woman from their local community that woman who has so far remained Anonymous won 1.08 billion dollars from a ticket she bought at Los palmitas mini market a modest store in the city's downtown Fashion District owned by Nabor Herrera and his family since 2017. hereda's step-daughter Angelica minhivar proudly told the post the winner is a part of the local Latin Community Hispanic lady and old lady minivar said 100 a Latina many of us said her family would be reviewing security footage to confirm their suspicions of who they think it is Thursday afternoon it's a lot of money for her which is great God bless her she added the winner has up to a year to claim their prize and will be given the choice to take the full 1 0.08 billion dollar prize paid out over incrementally over 29 years roughly 39 million dollars per year or walk away with 558.1 million dollars up front many of our and her family are also walking away with a chunk of change from the drawing California law gives the sellers a winning Powerball tickets point five percent of the jackpot although it's capped at one million dollars which the family will be awarded celebrations at the store Thursday were dramatically interrupted by a woman who ran into the mini market screaming that she was the winner the lady one who shocked the assembled crowd as well as the store workers drop to her knees crying God bless you in hugging staff then ran off however she ran off without showing a ticket or giving her name according to the footage from KNX news it remains unclear whether she is truly the winner ask Will her family plan to do with the cash from selling the ticket many of our laughed and said we don't have plans right now keep it for later for school for our daughters many of ours suggest that they might do her family didn't realize they sold the winning ticket until Herrera showed up for work early Thursday morning and found his shop swarmed with news trucks and reporters it's a surprise for me I didn't know what it is filming or what edera told KTLA 5 and then I said he'll probably take his family on a big vacation and maybe put some cash back into the business Wednesday's winning numbers were 7 10 11 13 24 and the red Powerball number 24 which hit after 32 unsuccessful drawings since April 19th although odds for winning the grand prize jackpot are a staggeringly minut at one in 292 million California has certainly lived up to its name as the Golden State with winners in the state of the three largest prizes in Powerball history the biggest Powerball winner of all time Edwin Castro of Los Angeles Southern Altadena took home 2.04 billion dollars in November 2022 while a 1.58 billion dollar prize was shared between three ticket holders in California Tennessee and Florida my thought is that the woman that ran into the store is probably not the winner and my opinion is that because if I'm winning that type of money you will not see my face because it is very dangerous to be identified as the Powerball winner um so yeah I don't think it was her um now here's my my brain just like okay now why did she do it she did she just want some internet clout did she want to promote her business um she had like a name on her ball cap uh maybe that was something that'll connect later I don't know why she did it but I just can't think that she's the one that won just because she actually ran in there and did all that and of course you know black women trying to protect black women there was a I think a black woman behind her saying Queen and go get a bodyguard Queen if you're the winner get a bodyguard stay safe that type of stuff but yeah it was it was crazy I watched the footage on neighborhood talk because they had like three different angles maybe but yeah y'all um it's it's crazy so let me know what y'all think trendy's and trendsetters talk to y'all later bye [Music]
