Viewer discretion is advised. [music] >> Now stop. >> Heads up. [music] Bad boys. What you going to do? >> Smell some marijuana. I'm a marijuana smoker. >> Hold it. Hold it. Cops is filmed on location with the men and women of law enforcement. All suspects are [music] innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Grand Prairie is a fun town to work in. It's got a little bit of everything for adults and kids with Lonear Park for horse races. We've got minor league baseball. We're building a new water park for kids and families. And we got Jill Poolool Lake. There's a little bit of everything for um all ages. We just got dispatched to a felony wanted subject that's supposed to be in a house around the corner. Mother-in-law called him and said that he is there and that he may run. We're going to meet us with some units around the corner. Henry, Charles, Zebra, we're [snorts] at the location. Hey, lights are on. I hear female's voice. They're right here in this room. They're looking out. Grandpary police, come to the door. Come to the door right now. >> I hear a doors closing inside. >> Got a female. >> We got contact at the back. >> Hey ma'am, we need to speak to Billy. >> Who? >> Billy. >> Billy's not here. >> Yeah, he was here earlier. His car's here. Where is he? >> That's my car. >> Where is Can we come and check? We need to come look. >> Nobody's in here but me and my kids. >> All right, we need to come look. We got we got we got good information that he's here. He's not here. Nobody tell us where he is if something bad doesn't happen. We I don't want anything bad to happen to me, you or your kids. Where's he at? >> Nobody's here. >> Just tell us where he's at. >> He's at his dad's house. Kids, that's my car. I drove that car to work. My brother was here yesterday. They all left. No one's here but me and my kids. He's not here, sir. Nobody's here but ME AND MY KIDS. GET YOUR HANDS UP. RIGHT THERE. HANDS UP. GET ON THE GROUND NOW. GET OUT. >> Give your pants. >> Thanks for flying. WATCH HER. PUT YOUR HANDS UP. DON'T REACH SOMEWHERE. >> I was hush. >> You're under arrest. >> You taking her to jail? >> Hush. She lied for you. >> Do you have any weapons on you? >> No. What am I a weapon for? She didn't know I was here. She didn't know you were here, but you're up in an attic. >> I came here when she was sleep. We got information knowing you were here all day. >> All right, we got positive ID. >> Anybody else up in the attic? >> Just me. >> That makes sense with the loud noise we heard when we >> Yeah, he went up in the attic. >> Who told y'all that was here? >> Little Fairy 36. We got one at Custoy Clear Channel. >> She's LLP. I knew he was here the way she was talking. >> Oh yeah. >> Liar, liar, pants on fire. When we were outside, we heard a loud noise, >> like a door closing or something. So, this is after the female peaks out the window at us. She comes to the door. She starts loud announcing that nobody's here. And he was obviously up in the ceiling and crashed down. He's lucky he didn't get hurt. [snorts] All this debris is similar to what's here cuz he went up in the attic through here. >> Y'all woke me up out of my sleep. >> Okay, here's the deal. We're past that. Okay. Like we've already told you, when we were outside, we heard the thud of y'all getting him up in the attic. Everything else. Why would you lie to us? >> We all know you knew he was here. So, let's not compound on the line. >> You're not sure? >> What were you reaching for when I had to point my gun at you? Because while we're dealing with him, after he crashes through, you start reaching around in there. >> Yeah, cuz I'm about to get my kids some clothes cuz they out they in their um night clothes. I was going to ask I did ask >> why would you put your children in this position? I don't know, sir. Sorry. >> Don't apologize to me. You need to apologize to your children, cuz you're the one who put your children in the position >> to watch police have to point guns at people that come crashing through the roof? >> I'm not for sure. >> You're not for sure. How old are you? >> 28 years old. >> You're 28? Okay. You said you were scared? >> Yes, sir. >> So, what were you scared of? That the big bad police were coming in to hurt you? >> I did not know why I was here on the >> We told you why we were here. We were looking for him. You could go to jail right now for interfering, harboring a fugitive if you want to be an effective mother to those children. Quit hanging around people that like to fight the police. Run for run from the police and quit setting bad examples of let's lie to the police. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> We're going to start over on a brand new slate now. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, if we come across you in the future, you're not going to lie to us. >> All right. >> Hey, Billy. How are you, man? >> All right. >> Hey, are those your kids? >> Yeah, they're my stepkids. >> They're your stepkids. You're not bad. No. >> Why would you put those kids in danger like that, ma'am? >> Uh, being stupid. >> You know you got warrants, right? >> Yeah, I got a warrant for probation violations >> from running from the police. When did you climb up in the in the attic after you heard me say, "Hey, it's the police." >> I seen your little earpiece in your ear. >> Yeah. When you when I seen that earpiece, I said, "Oh, yeah, them the police." Say, "Yeah, I got to I got to run." >> Okay. >> And then I had to do what I got to do. You know, I wouldn't go home, y'all. Y'all >> You understand? We don't know that, right? Yeah. Yeah. Because y'all don't know me and I don't know y'all. >> No. >> You know, I thought y'all were going to harm me. >> Why would we do that? Let me ask you that question. Why would you think that we would come to harm you? >> All I seen was guns. >> Okay. Well, keep in mind we're going into an unknown place. >> Yeah. >> After somebody with a felony warrant, >> somebody that I know to be hiding because I heard the attic door closing. >> I mean, how do you how else would you expect us to respond? Cuz some guy comes crashing through the roof like Santa Claus and be like, "Hey, man. What's your name?" You know, just normal conversation. That's not how it works. You know that. >> Yeah. >> But we're not here to hurt you. >> I I didn't know. >> So, at the end of the day, the end result is what happened, right? You knew this was going to happen no matter what. >> Yeah. It was a matter of time y'all was coming cuz I've been running since July. >> You going to do it again? >> No, man. >> Come on. You won't. >> No, I ain't going to do it no more. >> Well, shame on her for putting the kids at risk. Shame on you for putting the kids at risk because like we said just a second ago, we don't know who you are. You don't know us. >> Yeah, it was real dumb. That was real stupid. >> Neither one of you get parent of the year awards right now. >> All right. >> Yes, sir. >> All right, buddy. >> All right. Thank you. >> All right. [snorts] He's good at running to a certain degree, but he's terrible at hiding cuz he likes to fall through roofs. We we have a lot of females on this shift in particular, but in squad 2, we actually have the most females on a particular squad. And it's actually fun to be able to work alongside other powerful female deputies, going to different calls with them and showing little girls that we can do just everything that males can do and just getting the job done. Credit to a 911 hangup, the call taker heard a female screaming in the background, so sounding more like a domestic. said, "The suspect was last seen on foot, white male, bald, about six foot." This looks like him. Hello. Hey. >> Stop for a second. >> I ain't stopping. Come here. >> I told you to stop. >> You need to come here. >> No, you need to stop. We don't even know if you're involved in anything. down. >> Flip over. Over now. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Only reason why I ran. If I didn't do nothing wrong. >> You did nothing wrong. We would sort that out. >> Unit there's a female with the subject. Stand by. >> Do not resist. >> I'm not resisting. >> I'll get started over. I asked for a pack of cigarettes. She gave me her card to go get a pack of cigarettes. I come out the door. SHE'S LIKE, "GIVE ME MY CARD." >> She did it all on purpose to set it up. >> How do you know her? >> That's my wife. >> Have you used her card in the past? >> Yes. Every day. >> Take a deep breath. Go ahead, Bo. >> You're not going to give us any more problems. Correct. >> No, ma'am. I do that. I I did that cuz you know I mean all this up for nothing. >> Yeah, but if you would have just stopped, we could have sorted that out. >> I wasn't sorting nothing out. The men is always the bad guy. >> All right. Move over. Roll over on your butt. >> 131st. >> 1 2 3. >> Thank you. >> Walk him that way. Took Chico's card. >> Chico. >> She gave me a card to give me a pack of cigarette. >> As soon as I walked out the door, she's like, "OH, HE TOOK MY CARD." OH, >> SHE HANDED YOU HER CARD. >> OH, YEAH. >> OKAY. Hop in. >> She blames all on me, but it takes two in a relationship. You know what I mean? Um, >> so you guys live together. You're in a relationship. >> We're married, man. We got four kids together. >> And you all live at that same house. >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. >> Oh. Anyways, like 10 20 minutes ago, I come. I said, "Babe, will you go with me to get a pack of cigarettes?" >> Mhm. >> She said, "No, here. Just take the card." And I thought it was kind of funny. I mean, cuz she don't trust me with her card a while back. I had a drug problem. >> Soon as she hand me the car, as soon as she hand me the card, >> she cuz we was in the bedroom. She started cuz she shut the door. She started screaming, "Oh, he took my card. Mom, call 911. I'm like, what? >> As I was trying to leave, her mom was trying to block me from the door to get out the door. I said, just let me go. >> Does her mom leave at the address, too? >> Oh, yeah. It's a big That's the problem. >> Okay. All right. >> Did you push her? Shove her. >> I didn't push her. She hit me. But I mean, but it's nothing. >> Hit you. How? >> She just She was mad. You know what I mean? >> She just >> Why would she want you to get arrested? I mean, it seems she wants you to call the police. Like, why would she want you >> I don't know. It just as soon as I as soon as she hand me the call, I started walking away. She started hollering, "Mom, call 911. Call 911." >> I mean, that's the truth, you know what I mean? So, >> okay, >> it is what it is. >> All right, hang on just a second. I'll be right back with you. >> So, I got the kids to bed. I was in the bedroom brushing my hair. I just got out of the shower and I hear this loud crash and that's him. When you lock the back door and you yank it hard enough, you can open it. So he opens that's how he gets in and he I I go I get out of the bed and I go to the door. I'm like, "What the hell is that noise?" And all he walks in and he throws his shirt right in my face. I was like, "Why did you throw your shirt at me?" He goes, "I didn't throw my shirt at you, bitch." I was like, "Yes, you did." He goes, "No, I didn't. I didn't throw my shirt at you, you dumb bitch." And he kept just calling me all these obscinities. And then he went into the bathroom to do something. He came back with a hand towel and I was patting the baby's butt to get her back to bed cuz she woke up cuz of all the commotion. And I turned around cuz he said something and he slung the towel again at me. And I go, "Why did you do that?" And he goes, "I didn't do nothing. I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't do nothing." So then he then he sees my wallet and he makes a beline to the other side of the bed with a wallet and he goes and he grabs it. I'm trying to fight him for it. Trying to fight him for my wallet. And my mom, I kept yelling for him to call 911. Call 911. And of course they're slow cuz they're old and they're like I'm like, "Call 911. It's important. Call 911." And he wouldn't. And he bolted out the door so I could follow. And I get there and I'm just give me my card, please. And he grabs my face and he pushes me down. And I didn't fall to the ground, but he pushes me. >> Did anybody else witness that? >> I don't know. >> Your mom or anything? >> Yeah. Even my 8-year-old seen it. She's hysterical crying. >> Now, is your bank account a joint account? No, it's just yours. >> It's just my account because he has a he has a crack addiction and he will spend all of my money and I cannot pay my bills and I have children. So, I took his name off that account, but he steals the card and the card the other card he stole was my daughter. your social security card. >> Has he been able to use it in the past, though? >> Yeah. Well, yeah, he uses it. You know what I mean? But >> Okay. Well, he has your PIN and all that stuff. >> Okay. >> Well, you're bleeding. I'm sorry. >> I think it's your boyfriend's blood. That's okay. >> Oh, good. He deserves it. >> Um, has he done this before in the past that you know of? Okay. So, he's been arrested for domestic battery in the past. >> Yeah. >> This is your debit card. >> That's my daughter's SSI card. I could check at home if the red card's there. >> All right. >> From my understanding, there's witnesses at the scene, it's going to be domestic battery. Obviously resisting. He took a credit card or SSI card, but he's been able to use it in the past. >> Yeah. It's not going to be charged. >> Yeah. >> Just going to stick with the domestic. That's all we have. >> Yeah. Trust me, I know. >> What's that? >> She didn't want to hit me. I'm trying to get out the house. Her and her mother are stopping me from get out the house. I'm trying to lead to diffuse the problem. That's fine. Do what you got to do. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Why is everybody else saying that you're you're the one that's causing the problem? >> Oh, cuz I'm cuz I'm always the bad guy. You know what I mean? >> I'm done talking. >> Okay. >> You're being charged with domestic battery and also resisting arrest. >> That's fine. Do what you got to do. It was never my plan to initially ever become a cop. But uh after years of working in the private protection field, I took a job in the prisons and then I decided I needed to get out on the streets and have a lot of fun with this job and you get to experience something new every day. We got a car. Basically, they're speeding through a residential neighborhood. They've slowed down now. They've realized the cops behind them. We're going to pull them over. Looks like it's occupied by about three individuals. >> South 19 traffic. 19. >> Betty and Linda on a white toad. >> We got a bailing. >> Get on the ground. >> Get your hands out. >> Street crime two foot pursuit. You got 19 and 16 in pursuit. I have two at gunpoint. >> Don't move. Hands up. Get out. One at a time. Lady, YOU STAY. GET OUT. Walk to the front of that car. >> Right here. Put your hands on the car. >> Give me your right hand. Ma'am, step out. Keep your hands up. Walk back. Keep your hands up and don't move. >> Stop. Sir, >> can I ask you what's going on? >> What's going on? All right, have a seat. Right next to him. You got them? Sit. Sit. Stay with them. They're in the yard. I'll be right there. >> GUYS, TALK. WHERE ARE YOU AT? >> HECK YEAH. >> What about you, man? >> Don't reach for me. You're >> stupid, dude. >> Why'd you run? Why didn't you just sit in the car? Why don't you put your hands up? >> I'm a You think you're going to bail? I know. You think you're going to bail and get away? >> I knew I was coming. >> You thought you can get away from me. You >> all right? >> No, man. >> Then why'd you run? >> Just a little tear. >> All right. You need a medic? >> No, I'm good. >> Do you need a medic? >> Do you need medical attention? >> No, you guys are listen I >> Where's your shoes at, bud? >> Ran so fast. He ran right out. >> Right out of your shoes. >> They're at that other fence over there. >> Listen, we went over the first fence. He >> just came. Let's walk him up, fellas. I'm going backtrack the past check for the dope. Yeah, >> we've been looking for this guy for about 3 weeks. It's part of a big huge burglary ring. He stole a cop's motorcycle out of uh California. We've been hunting him for a while now and he knows we've been hunting him and that's why he stated he ran here today. Um he's has a long history of drug abuse, theft, uh fighting with the police, violence with the police. Looks like he's still resisting. Um these are the people that are driving the car. I don't know their story, so I'm going to uh talk to them, >> see what we can get going from there. >> Um, what did he say to you when we tried to pull you over? >> All he said was, "Dude, what are you doing? We got to go." And I said, "Dude, I got to do what I'm supposed to." >> We saw you drive down Basin when we were on the side of the road and you did an abrupt movement to turn down here, which is >> Well, I have no power steering. >> All right. >> But it looked like you were trying to get away from us. >> Okay. >> And he's in the car. We stop you. Bam. He runs out of the car. at all. >> You got to look out from my perspective, brother. It looks super super suspicious when you stop a car and then a guy bolts out of the car. >> Like I was just telling that officer, the reason I even went and picked him up is cuz those three orange caps right there, I found those in my car the last time he was in my car. >> Okay. So, >> I don't know if they were his or not, but I was going to ask. >> Do you have any drugs in this car? I don't. Okay. Do you use drugs at all? >> No. I mean, I used to. >> What do you use? Meth? >> I smoke weed. >> Weed. I mean, meth. >> I used to use meth. >> Okay. How long when's the last time you used meth? I don't even know. >> Okay. Are you guys uh girlfriend, boyfriend? >> Yeah. >> He seen that there was a cop on the side of the road or I I was passed out honestly. I was asleep in the front seat. >> So, and then whenever Lance started tripping out and I was like, "What's going on?" You know, and at that time you there's two cars behind us and I he didn't really say nothing to me. He was just like, "You got to you got to go." And you know, he was like, "You got to go. You got to go." Or something like that. >> All right. Then you stopped and bam, he got out. >> Yeah. He took off running like a idiot. >> All right. Hang tight for me, guys. We'll get you out here in a minute. Okay. He's got a bad drug history. These are two hypodermic needles taken off of the suspect loaded with methamphetamine. >> And we pulled the bag of methamphetamine out of his pocket. Yeah, Lance. Next time, don't run, bro. It's not worth running. >> I don't know if you guys have ever been on drugs. You know what that's like, man. It ain't nothing pretty good. You know what I'm saying? I'm I'm honestly I'm not a bad guy. I mean, you guys sure you heard that all the time, but I'm not, man. I I I was raised better than this, man. I was doing all right with my life. I got caught up and then been trying to get clean. I have another kid on the way. >> How many kids is that? >> It's going to be my second one, man. And I'm terrified >> to death. Let me ask first, man. >> Do you think your children would want to see their dad running from five police officers in the middle of the night? >> I would want to teach my kids that. Absolutely not. >> Why'd you run, >> man? I know you guys are looking for me for some [ __ ] Okay. So, why if it it was if it was so fake, why'd you run, man? >> You know that in my position, I'm already on I'm already on the guys, right? >> I didn't say >> that. Don't help your kids, man. >> When you want us to believe you when you want to try to justify yourself or something or you think somebody's lying, >> the best thing would be to call. >> Do you know how hard it is? Do you know how hard it is to even try to think in a clear head like that when you're already up? Not only >> because you're constantly running through meth, man. You're going to have time to get better. You got kids. You can't stand clear on meth. Dude, it ain't even the mess that's the problem. >> It ain't even no good anymore, man. >> Yeah, let's put him in the back of his car for right now. >> He's on a no bail pro and probation warrant out of the state of Nevada. He's also being arrested for a grand theft auto of a motorcycle that he stole from a police officer in California, PCS, methamphetamine, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, as well as another burglary that we have against him. >> All right, let's go talk to them one more time. Dallas and Britney, I do appreciate you complying and staying put and listening to all my directions and orders and I I appreciate it. And look what happened. Hey, you got detained. You nothing. You didn't get beat up. No one got shot. Everyone goes home safe. You're not even going to jail. You know it. And uh my partner here, I don't know what you going to write him a ticket or no. >> No. >> No. See, look at that. So, you know, >> so but next time >> I know when I got >> then next time I'm asking if they got warrants and all that. [laughter] >> Well, just make sure, man, you use your turn signals. Make sure you're you're obeying the speed limits, especially in the residential neighborhoods, but we appreciate your cooperation 100%. >> Thank you guys for being nice. >> 132 bush. I've got him at gunpoint. >> Okay. 132 bush cover >> 1047 1047 43. Okay, we'll still send a code three. [music]
