Okay. All right. Waiting on YouTube to connect. Oops. To connect real fast. First one up. Bank teller calls cops over suspicious $21,000 check. So, let's see the excuses and let's see what's going on with this one. >> Navy flagged a suspicious $21,000 check. What's up, man? I'm Deputy Carl County Sheriff's Office. Do you have an ID on you? Go ahead and hang up the phone. You're not going to be on the phone for this on Do you have an ID on you with my question? Yes, you do. Do you mind if I see it? I'll explain it to you as soon as you give me your ID. I car right now. You're being detained investigation. I'll explain everything to you as soon as you step inside. You understand? You speak English, right? You understand that I just >> told you? Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, hang tight. As soon as I get you outside, I'll explain everything to you. Is that pretty clear? >> All right. Perfect. >> All right. I'll explain everything to you as soon as I get you outside. >> That's the third time I tell it to you. Go and walk out for me. >> Why am I an investigation. >> I'll explain everything to you as soon as I get you outside, man. What What part of that don't you understand? I'm trying to be very compliant with you, >> right? Because you're being detained pending an investigation. I'm going to explain to you as soon as I get you out here, man. Just give me a second so I can explain everything to you. >> What have I done? I haven't done anything. >> All right. So, I'm Deputy Carbone with Orange County Sheriff's Office. Before I ask you any questions, because I have you detained, I've got to read you your rights. Have you ever been read your rights before? >> Yes. >> Am I able to get my information out the car? >> Take a seat. Take a seat. Stick your feet out. Cross your legs. We going for one secure. >> Just hang tight, man. Let me read you your rights. If you want to answer questions after I read your rights, we'll go from there. You don't even know what I'm ask. >> Exactly. So, hang tight for me, man. >> All right. So, constitution requires me that you that I informed you that you have rights to remain silent. Anything you say will be used in court as evidence against you. You're entitled to talk to an attorney now or have present or now or any time during discussion. Do you understand? If you cannot for an attorney, one will be appointed for you without cost. You desire to consult with an attorney first during this interview. Yes or no? >> Okay. You understand? By saying yes, you I cannot speak to you. You understand that? >> You want to speak to me? Yes or no? If you want an attorney, I'm not going to speak to you. And I'm going to go off base what the bank has told me. Okay. So, the bank got information that the check you're trying to cash is fraud. >> Yeah. You just tried you tried cashing it over the phone. You just tried cashing it in person. Okay. >> Yeah. >> They got a picture of you with the number of the check and the amount of the check because you you sold the car, right? The car is registered to somebody else. So, then you tried cashing that check. So, you fraudently tried cashing a check. carrying it. >> No, it's registered to a completely different person. It's not even in your hand. >> That's none of your concern. The fact you don't know my point. You understand that? >> I remember this one. This first one little bit different from the other one. So, I'll let it play out, but I remember this one. Um I think Well, I'll just let it play. We'll talk about it. >> Where did you get the check that you're trying to cash? All right. >> You got it from the buyer. Okay. Who What's the buyer's name? >> America Johnson. >> Okay. >> Okay. And how did they get the car? >> How did he get the car? How did he get the car? >> Yeah. >> Okay. The car is not even in his name. So, how did he get the car? How is he trying to sell it to you? So, what are you trying to do? >> He's trying to buy the car from you. >> Okay. How did you get possession of the vehicle? >> By who? >> You don't have a name. You don't know who you do business with, anything like that. You see how sketchy that is? >> It's not. And the bank already flagged me. That's why I was already there. Okay, with this one, this is the one I think that if the bank wanted to pursue a different type of fraud, they could. What it seems like they were doing is they have this thing where they take out a loan, then immediately like change it to cash and then like it's like a loan for a car, but they never actually want to buy a car. They just want the money from the loan. So, that's where it gets murky on this one. So, um, his turns out a little bit different from the other ones, but yeah, it's still I I feel like there's probably something where it's still a type of fraud, but it's not that the check wasn't actually made out to whomever it was made out to. It's that it was used for an intent that wasn't um upfront when they actually got the loan or something cuz it was supposed to be a car loan or or just a loan and then they used it for something else and it's starting to pass different hands or something. It's not someone's identity necessarily was stolen. That's this one. >> Is this your social security? >> Yes. Cody Martin. >> I do. >> I'm going to run it and find out. But his social matches it. [Music] Is this one your >> checks? Yeah, >> got you. Yeah. >> So, >> you can't even tell me where you got the car from. This one is number >> but he tried this tried for the same amount. >> Yes. He has no proof of his vehicle. >> Yeah. >> Let me get Can you run a for me? Sorry. Whoever Jacine is went to Patrick's Air Force base and tried to catch the same check and got flagged for fraud. So unless you show me proof of the title of the vehicle, registration of the vehicle with your name on it or any sort of that stuff, you're going to go to jail today for fraud. Okay? The bank is willing to prosecute you and press charges. This is not a true test. So that checks what he gave me. This is what he gave you. Sir, >> it doesn't matter what he gave you. I need I need the documents I told you. >> So unless you have the title of the vehicle with proof of purchase or bill of sale, you're going to go to jail today. This doesn't show me proof that you purchased a vehicle from him or he purchased the vehicle from you and he's paying with this amount. >> I get what you're saying, but it's not it's not proof. >> It's not proof. >> Well, you haven't been truthful yet, so I don't believe you. [Music] by saying this is what he used to get the check. Is this what you send out? [Music] [Music] >> Okay. Does this sound like fraud to y'all? Because they're going in circles. um not the bank, but the guy like why would if they had trouble and the one guy's actually a member of the bank, the one that we're not looking at is a member of the bank and the first time it wouldn't go through, but you're trying to give this other guy the 21,000 cuz you're trying to purchase a car. Why wouldn't you show up to your bank with the person to just transfer over the money if that's what it's for? Um, I feel like something they're going in a roundabout way to do something, but I'm just not catching it because it's not something I'm used to trying to do. But it it's it's sketchy, but I'm trying to catch the whole sketch. And then she said that's a fake ID, but then they said the social and ID came back to that guy just fine. So I'm like, is it one of those things where you already suspicious so you see more suspicion? What What's going on here? This person said >> myself, >> put the cars in somebody else's name. >> That's And I'm wondering, do either of them have a history of fraud? Cuz that might tell something, too. Or is this a one-off? Like, what's a one-off of something that looks like fraud, but it's like not y'all will see. I know we got to get to the end, but you'll see why I'm asking my question. All right, Mr. Cody, >> if if you can't prove to me that you own that car, there's nothing I can do for you. >> Sir, I have not taken a vehicle, sir. There's nothing stolen. There's no one taking or selling you. >> Okay. So, you went to the cashier, the teller, with this check and you said, "I need to cash this because I'm selling a car." Correct. >> Okay. The teller was already aware that you were going to try to come here because they sent an email with your picture and the other guy's picture. So, they knew exactly who you were cuz this check was already tried to be cashed at Patrick's Air Force Base. And stop talking. When I'm done talking, you can talk or if I ask you a question. Fair. All right. So when Patrick's flagged this, they sent it to all the other Navy federal branches and said, "This is a fraudulent check. There's no proof. There's no bill of sale, no title of the vehicle, no proof at all that this check is for the sale of a vehicle, which is what you're claiming it to be." Correct. >> Okay. So without that proof, it is a fraudulent check because the vehicle is registered to somebody completely different who is currently driving the vehicle. Why would you? >> Because you're cashing a check that does not work for the sale of the vehicle. So, you showed up to a bank to cash a check for a vehicle that you're selling. Correct, >> sir? >> Yes or no? >> This is it. >> It's a yes or no question. Yes or no? >> I have not. >> Mr. Cody, yes or no? >> I have not. >> You showed up because you said this check is because I'm selling a vehicle to this other individual. Yes or no? >> Okay. Do you want me to play back my body camera or get the camera from the from the bank? Which one would you like? Cuz they both have you saying it? >> You said this check right here is for the sale of a vehicle. Yes or no? >> Okay. You understand English, right? >> Okay. Do you have a mental malfunction I'm not aware about that you cannot understand my communication? >> Okay. He's playing semantics and I don't I don't Okay, he's playing semantics. He's saying I I said it was for a auto loan and auto loan and auto loan. Not that I was the seller of a vehicle, but also whatever vehicle that he identified for this auto loan. The cop is saying someone's still currently driving that vehicle and there's nowhere in sight a bill of sale between him or America, which is the member of that bank or anything. So, I can see how this is a lot of red flags. a lot of red flags. All this stuff about auto loan, sale vehicle, but there is no proof of a vehicle and you have $21,000 in your hand or a instrument that's worth $21,000. That's a lot of red flags. >> No, no, it's yes or no. Do you have one that I'm not aware about? Yes or no? Okay. So, the questions I'm asking you are yes or no questions. They're pretty straightforward, right? They're so that I can get further into this investigation. So, you have able to answer my question. The check that you are trying to cash is for the sale or transaction of a vehicle. Yes or no? >> Because you have >> Okay. He said yes for the sale or transaction of a vehicle. He said yes, but the the vehicle in question is owned by somebody else and being driven by somebody else per what the cop said. unable to provide the proof that either you or this other individual have the title or will of the vehicle. Understand? You will understand. No one's anything. No one's stolen anything. It's a moment. And I was just told that the check was fraudulent because there was no that check had to be given to a mirror. That check had to be given. >> So you have no proof of the vehicle making the check fraud. You just >> I have not I have not printed out that check. So I have not done anything to that check. Sir, >> your attempt to cash this check with the teller today is sufficient for the bank to press charges. Do you understand that? From my understanding, to get an auto loan, you if for it to be classified as an auto loan, somebody has to say, "This is the car I plan on getting." So, the bank can, you know, they look at the value that makes sense to give you a loan for this type of car for this year. Um, obviously, they're also going to make you get insurance on the car. All the things that they have to do. They probably check the VIN to make sure it's a a valid car to be bought that, you know, all the things. So, I think the fraud just started there in general that you if you got something that's classified as an auto loan, but then you never intended to get that car and the car was never yours to get, that's the fraud. So, then you're trying to I think they're then trying to use that $21,000 for something else not related to a car, but that was how that member of the bank who's um they're both trying to cash the checks at different places. That's how they were authorized to get the check was for the purpose of the car. But then when the bank's like, "Okay, give us the information about the bill of sale and the car," there is nothing because they never plan on actually getting a car. >> Okay. I already called the supervisor. It's just going to be transport. So, >> I just need somebody to transport your car. You want to talk? >> Yeah. Sir. >> Oh my god. >> Thank you. >> No. [Music] Yes. You just did. >> Exactly. That one attempt is all you need. Yes, the other person went to that same check at airport. [Music] I'm sure you're ask that check. What am I doing as you guys? What am I doing as well? I'm not saying what I'm saying. The check the fact you attempted to cash the check. Who said anything about your car? [Music] >> I explained that to you already multiple times. >> I'm I'm not sure how else I can explain it to you. >> Correct. >> Correct. You have no proof. >> Well, What I mean? What is it? >> What size? You got to cut. >> Hey, I'm Sergeant Anderson. You asked to speak to supervisor. What's going on? So basically they're telling me that I'm being charged with fraud. >> Yes. I have not gone anywhere else. >> Okay. >> Who uh who gave you the check? >> Who's that? >> So he has to get approved for the loan. He has to go into the bank and sign off. His check is fully verifiable. Who? Who's America's Johnson to you? >> He's my friend. >> Why are you going to Is it a check in your name or his name? >> It's in my name. >> Why are you payable to me? So basically >> I feel like these are very reasonable questions to ask you a check. >> No, he didn't write a check. So basically, >> so he goes to a bank, it's a check made out to you from a bank. So why do you have to check? >> Why did he write it out to you? >> Okay. Wow. So that's the probably the most closest we're going to get to it. He he got the money just to have the money. It wasn't for a car. Um and then they're going to split the money. I'm wondering did this person that's in the back of the police car teach him a process that should work on how to get cash since I'm showing you. You got to give me something like what why do why do you get part of it? But again, it is just to access the cash. It doesn't seem like it's to get a car. >> Where's the car at? >> There he goes. He said liquidated credit. I feel like they learned something from Facebook or Instagram and they trying it out. >> So, how did he get a loan on a car? >> So, basically he applied forever. There is nowhere that you have to have this nowhere that they're making this check. >> So, is it like an equity line on the card? >> It's not off the card. Basically, he went to them, hey, look, this is the case. I'm asking for 21,000 >> off my credit check and dude. >> No, because then you would have taken a personal loan, but he probably didn't qualify for a $21,000 personal loan where you could use the funds at your discretion. He had to say it was for a car, which was misrepresentation cuz he apparently does not plan on getting a car and he just wants the cash. That's what that sounds like. myself in his account. I could have done >> what collateral did he use for the 21,000? >> He's open personal loan. >> So, it's a personal loan for 21,000 and and he's offered to split the proceeds with you. >> That sounds awful shady to me. >> That sounds awful shady. Why is he offering to split it with you? Why? Why is he offering to split it with you? >> So So basically, he's getting a personal loan that he intending to pay back. Basically is what you're telling. >> Okay. So why is he giving you half the funds? >> Why is he giving you half the funds? >> So he's giving you how much? >> Half of what? >> So he's giving you 10 grand? Yes, sir. 500 going to jail. Sounds like a shady to me. >> $10,000 because someone helped you rebuild your credit, which they did not help you rebuild your credit. If you have to lie and get a auto loan versus you actually getting a personal loan you would have qualified for had your credit been built back up, which a lot of times even people that teach about credit repair, they're like, "A lot of it out here is just a scam when it comes to credit repair. A lot of it you can do on your own with free knowledge and information. But that man was giving you $10,000, $10,500 cuz you rebuilt his credit, which you did not rebuild cuz you had to lie to even get that loan. Too much. >> Let me look into the bank. I didn't check. I didn't say this. >> Did you present it? >> Did you present it? hand. >> Well, that's bad news at Black Rock. If you present the checkup, >> I don't think there I don't think there's a question of the validity of the check. I think there's question of the as how this whole check came to be is the problem. >> Exactly. >> I think that's shady. >> Exactly. >> You agree with me? It's kind of shady how the whole funding process on their end. There is no them making you have to have this at home. There is no one, >> right? But on your end, there's some shadiness on your end. >> All right. Well, let me figure out what's going on. Okay. All right. >> Yeah, that's who you said. All right. Has he been >> Did he vote? >> He said he wanted a lawyer. So, >> hey, whose car is this that you were getting a loan on? >> It's a sellable car. That car is for sale. There's nothing showing that we're not in that car. We have 90 days to send the title to the car. There's nothing showing. >> So, who's the owner of the car? >> Nothing showing from the dealership. They're selling the car. We can >> That car has got a person's name attached to it, right? To an individual. >> Yeah, it's for sale. That car is >> What dealership has it? >> That car is for sale. >> What dealership does it have? Um, if I'm not mistaken, you're still under arrest and you're still going to jail. We're just going to give economics call and figure out the appropriate charge because this whole thing is shady. >> Okay. All right. >> What? Nothing I can do. Absolutely nothing I can do. The handcuffs are staying on. Not that car is a sellable car. That car is not someone's car. He's not selling that car. >> He has 90 days. >> That's between you and your attorney to solve. >> All right. >> Dang. They they know the workarounds, don't they? He has 90 days to present that title. So, I guess he was going to go wild with his half of the 10,500 within the 90 days cuz they would like Okay. I mean, look, it ain't for me to figure out. It's for them to figure out. >> He was charged with uttering a forged check, but the state attorney's office declined to prosecute. The case was dropped and the charge was dismissed. >> All right, they dropped the charges uttering a forged check, but they dropped the charges. That's I was like, hm. But also, I wonder if they ended up still charging the one with the last name or middle name of Mary Kane because that was a member of the bank that applied for the auto loan that never intended to use the auto loan. I wonder if they if he was charged and prosecuted, but it didn't. So, yeah, charges dropped on that one. We're going to the next one. And links will be in the description box after the live for all of these without interruption. All right, this one is Body Cam Ninja. It says, "Police surprise identity thief after she tries cashing a fake check." All right, so let's see. >> Officers were dispatched to a bank after a woman attempted to cash a fraudulent check. >> Yeah, I was just making sure that was >> Yeah. >> Hi. How you doing? Come here, >> sir. You >> what's going on today here? What are we trying to do? >> Nothing about just catching a rent check. >> A rent check? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Who calls? >> Okay. >> She's audi right now. You're going to be detained. Okay. >> Because we're investigating a possible >> involving you. >> Okay. So that's I'm let you know what's going on. I'm being detained. >> Yes. >> Okay. I guess >> Excuse me. >> Yes. You're not going anywhere. >> I didn't do anything wrong, sir. >> That's what we're here to find out. >> Donna, go stop that car over there, Donna. But when there's an Audi in the lot right behind you, there's an Audi in the lot right behind you. >> So, right now, you're going to you're being detained because we're investigating a possible >> Donna, hurry up. Get the car. Come on, Donna. fraud with a white female with a pink and white flannel shirt on with jeans which exactly matches your description. So, let us do our job right now and then we'll figure things out. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. Did you come here with anybody? >> No. >> How'd you get here? >> I took a Uber, but that's why I was checking to see what was >> it was a little uh I think it was a Jeep, but Okay. Can you do me a favor? >> Let's go take a seat here. >> There's always a Uber. They always say they took a Uber, but nine times out of 10, they actually got dropped off by someone involved in the scheme. But they'll say they took a Uber. >> Okay. >> We're going to go take a seat. Come over here with me. Somebody want to talk to me or what's going on? >> So, she came in with this claiming to be our customer, right? >> So, this person here is one of your customers, >> correct? This person. >> Correct. >> That name. >> Hold on. Just you got to go slow with me. So, this name here, who is this? >> Okay. >> Right. Right. >> Right. This is made out to the person. So, she has this ID. That's definitely not her. But how do you know it's not her as [Music] >> her? Okay. >> Okay. >> You have any ID on you? >> Um, no. She took it. >> Okay. Is that a valid ID? >> Yeah. >> That's who you are, current address, everything like that. >> Yeah. >> Okay. the address. I just moved here. >> Well, where did you move from? >> I moved from PA. >> This is >> 95. >> Stand up, man. >> Right now, you're going to be placing an arrest. >> Are you kidding me? >> Yes. >> You can put it down. Yes. >> Why are you being sold? >> I'm not being aggressive, ma'am. Okay. You're going to be You're under arrest right now. I told you we're investigating your fraud. I don't understand. There's something wrong with >> What happens is you're under arrest and you're trying to catch a check. This is not you. >> That's not me. >> What's your name? >> That's another one. They never have a name that matches anything else in their wallet or purse, but that's supposed to be. And then they struggle to remember their fake name because I think she had to buy time to remember the fake name on her uh fake ID as well. And I think if they had have asked her what's what was the pre address on the ID, she probably would have known. What's the birthday? Probably wouldn't have known. They have a picture of who this person. It's not you. >> And I'm I'm almost gonna bet when I run this. >> I just found it out on the sidewalk. >> What? This? >> No, that wallet. >> Oh, now we just found the wallet on the sidewalk. That's not my wallet. Okay. >> Okay. >> Look. All right. We're going to double tighten these so they don't slip. Okay. You just listen. You just found it. >> Yeah. Listen. I'm just going to say this to you, right? I didn't start this job an hour ago. I just want to be I just want to be I just want to be 100% upfront with you. Right. You have the right to remain silent and then you say can or will get you in court of law. You have the right to attorney have him or her with you before and or during any question if you want to give up that right and you want to talk to me about what's going on. That's all good. But what I'm telling you is you just told me you found you just presented this ID which is not you. And then you said you found the wallet outside with a cash check with check made out to that person. That's not who you are. Then they hear me out. Then they showed me a picture of who the actual bank holder is. This is not you. Is that Is that car over there with you? >> What car? No, I was in a Jeep. >> You're from Lafayette. >> Okay. >> What's your Hold on. What's your name? >> I need to talk to my mother. >> Do you have anything? Okay. Listen, man. Do you have anything on your person? Meaning your body. >> Can the You're going to be searched. What? Do you have anything on you? >> Yes. No. >> No. I don't. >> No. Okay. >> Come on. >> Yeah. You'll get your bag. >> Your worries, man. We'll get you back. >> Right here. Would you quit pushing me? >> Miss [Music] >> She's on the phone with somebody. >> Of course. >> On the phone with somebody. >> Listen, this is the oldest trick in the book. Yeah. Come on. >> Here. Put this in her. >> I get some trick. [Music] The fake uh indignation is is wild. That is my name. I just found that on the ground. What are you talking about? >> Would you one of you guys bring some statements? >> You don't have to answer questions. You don't have to comply. But your phone's going to get taken and it's going to get knocked. >> That is you. I'm not answering anything until I speak to my lawyer. >> Perfect. You don't have to at this point. I'll see you inside. >> I want to know whose money and fake identity she's going to use to speak to said lawyer. >> What would you do? You happen to check the the account. You saw it was a different picture or >> he he's Yeah, he's checking. We have the driver's license for all of our account. >> He's like, "This is not her." >> Right. >> So, she's like, "Is there something wrong?" He's like, "I want to find you in our system." So, he kept digging. Right. >> I think she has in here reading her the social. She kept saying 158 >> 158 like she didn't know. >> Yeah, we've been down her phone. >> She we've been down this road a lot. >> Yeah. No, I saw with the other person's name on it. I saw >> cuz she said and it was a good eye because listen we we get these they come and go, right? I don't know what your experience is with these, but a lot of times what they'll do is >> and it was a good eye because a lot of times what they do is they send somebody in here who is >> expendable, right? Somebody who's desperate, somebody who needs drug, you know, something serious and the bigger person's on the outside, right? Usually it's a rental car back in to like another parking lot. So what happens? They send her in. If they cash the check, she'll probably get 200 bucks, >> right? And then the other people really get the majority of the money. And what happens is they usually see us pull in, they split, and she gets called. >> She's more than likely She's desperate. >> We get a lot, but I I get like so amped up that I'm like, "Oh, no. You're a fraudster." That I forget to call the cops. >> Yeah, of course. Listen, call us because it's like these things lead to some serious stuff. You mean I I did retail theft and fraud for like a long time over at the mall and these people cause a lot of damage. And what happens is is that they'll visit the next branch. The next branch down would be West Orange and then one brand. >> Yeah. Some some branch that we deal with have like an internal where you'll get like a head of head this guy you call security and then they send like a blanket email heads out to all the So we've gotten a lot of people like that. But clearly she knows where she told me she found the wallet out in the lot >> which was the same name with her pick license. This is usually these things are part of much bigger ranks much bigger. So if I can ask you what voluntary state for it doesn't have to be crazy but just just the simple fact of like does her behavior right like I told you like hobbies and like weird [ __ ] you're into none of that you know what I mean weird weird feet or none of that nonsense you sell your feet on that >> you got it I told you no weird [ __ ] about your feet none of that right no food fetishes is >> I was just going to make something up myself like I told you, you know, I've had a lot of these before and you'd be surprised and I not sound jerky, right? But I've come to where let's say somebody like yourself is doing mortgages. It's like you're here at the bank. We've had plenty of people working at the branch manager branch bar anybody can give me that has like an A7 credit >> and people behind people at the banks are doing that you know I mean >> oh wow at the post office 3 million >> we take a check we take a check let's say you exterminate it for $127 they whitewash it and make it out for 26,000 >> and she saw it cleared her account for like thousands >> that's I've been here 23 years every bank in this town including this one >> oh wow >> you know but my point is you don't have any money here what do you got three four five grand right nobody's doing it they want hundreds so how they do it is this right credit card fraud shoplifting, storing cars. So all those big hitters now doing what what are measly crimes, but the profit is very high. She's part of something. She's just part of something. Guys, have a blessed one. >> He was so informative. I like I like learning stuff like that. And he's funny, too. Okay, I'm skipping to where he goes to talk to her. Let's just I'm trying to make this helpful for you, right? I already found all the IDs and social security numbers, so I know what goes on, right? So, what I'm going to tell you is in order to help yourself a little bit because we're going to find out who you are, make sure you're honest when I ask you who you are. and it'll make things easier for you. Other than that, like it's just going to be harder and harder and harder. So, that's up. I already steal Pennsylvania licenses, social security. You you know what's going on, right? This what you do. I mean, cash check. I mean, I see I I'm familiar with this. You're not I didn't just start an hour ago. I mean, I'm just saying this is just what I do. So, what I'm trying to do is I don't believe in treating people horribly, right? I don't believe in making my life or your life end difficult. The fact of the matter is some days I don't catch the bad guy. Some days you get caught. Some days I win, some days you win. Right? What I'm going to offer to you is is like be honest about who you are and then we can move forward. That's all. I'm not going to question you about anything. I just want to make sure I know who you are and then we can move forward from there. Fair enough. What's your first name? If you if you aren't looking at your screen and you just have me playing in the background, the um video uploader body cam ninja put on the screen it says gives a fake name. So he asked her her name and they put on here that she gave a fake name. >> Amanda what? >> What is it? >> Welch. >> Amanda Welch. You're on body asking you to be truthful. Is that your name? >> Yes. >> Listen. Listen. I I I've been doing this a long time, right? I've seen the tin foil in there smoking pills. I've seen that. I I know what goes on. >> I don't smoke pills. >> You don't use any drugs? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. What? Where did you lay your head last night? >> On a bench. I got a bus. >> Okay. From where? >> A person asked me to do this. >> No, listen. I respect it. I understand it. What was your last known address? >> I can't give you one, >> Amanda. I'm I'm being honest. I can't give one. I've been trying to get away from my ex boyfriend >> for almost a year and a half. >> What address was that at? Where did you Where was your last known address? So, she is one of those people that they possibly found that is addicted to substances, homeless, things like that because they're easy fall people. Um, but I wonder how long they've been in contact cuz she already had her picture printed on that fake ID. >> I'll be up in a little bit. I got to lock her. >> The screen says that she lied again. I'mma go back a little bit to hear the lie. >> What address was that at? Where did you Where was your last known address? >> I'll be up in a little bit. I got a lot going on. >> So, when I have five or six different IDs on you with different names, would that leave me to believe you're not being truthful? >> Yes. >> Listen, you can have a lawyer. Listen to me. Here's the story. You can have a lawyer all you want, but will you not entitle lawyers identifying who you are? So, we can charge you with obstruction administration of law if you fail to provide your information. >> Well, I also know that the law because I didn't have a home. >> Now, ma'am, they say she got five IDs on her, y'all. I see a social security card at the top. >> Amanda, listen to me. >> Amanda, I understand you're caught up. I get it. >> Caught up. You don't get it. >> How old are you? >> I'm 46. About to be 47. >> And your leg? >> It's a That's a lie, too. I need my Mory gift. That's a lie, too. She lied about her age. >> Best known address was Fort Myers, Florida. >> Hang tight here. It's going to be a little bit. Okay. The suspect was charged with felony counts of possession of a fraudulent credit card and identity theft. When asked to identify herself at the police station, she continued to lie about her name, addressed obstruction. >> Girl, if you going to say you 46 almost 47 and your real age is 50, just say 50. And it says her name was Julie, y'all. Oh my gosh. All right, going to the next one. Um, now the thumbnail says her friends ditched her, but I don't think her friends ended up Well, maybe they did leave her at some point, maybe. But all right, this one pretty short one. Police surprised scammers at the bank after fake check scheme backfires. This is also Body Cam Ninja. On December 29th, 2023, officers were dispatched to a bank after a teller called police and reported that a group of people were attempting to cash a fraudulent check. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> There's Hello. >> I understand. So, we just want >> What's going on? >> Hi. Um, I got that. >> You have an ID on you? >> Yes. >> What's your name? your birthday. Okay. >> Do you have a driver license? >> Yes. >> Is it in Connecticut or >> Huh? >> I know. Is it Connecticut license or >> No, I'm >> Where you from? So, it's a New York license. Okay. >> Well, which car so >> Okay. What color? >> White. >> White. So, you just came to cash a check from your employer? >> Yeah. >> Who's your employer? >> Um, that's it's for it's a rent check. >> A rent check? >> Yes, it's from my >> Yeah. Who's your employer though? >> It's a check. >> No, I get that. But you said it's from your employer. >> Does that Okay. See, that's Does that make sense? You came to cash a check. Okay. Your job gave you the check. How was that check for rent? And if it was, why are you cashing it versus it going to where you would pay rent? Like these excuses, I don't understand. They confuse me. >> Yeah. >> Who's your employer? >> I don't understand. >> Well, it sounds like they think you might be trying to pass a bad check. >> Okay. So, I'm asking who's your employer? Who gave you the check? >> It's for your rent. >> Yes. >> You understand my question? >> Yeah. I feel like um I don't know. So, I just told you they they called us because they think you're trying to pass a bad check. >> So, that's what's going on. So, I'm just trying to figure out, you know, you're saying it's just rent and everything like that. I'm just asking your employ you didn't you're not getting my question. Someone someone issued you, right? Your employer. So, who's your employer? What are you for? >> I'm a receptionist. >> Receptionist. Okay. Where do you work? There's no out here in the parking lot. >> Drive car. >> Okay. So, my partner just told me there's not a Civic in the parking lot. >> I don't understand. >> Well, it's a simple question. What kind of car did you drive? >> Where where' you park it back? >> Yes. So again, who is your employer that cut you the check? >> Yeah. >> Who's your employer? Your friend left you. >> I don't know if like Okay. Well, there she's already for sure in there. Well, not for sure, but based on the body cam and the title, she's already in there scamming. So, I could see why you're not answering questions. But it also just seems like things aren't computing. Like the questions aren't computing to even answer the questions. They're very simple. Who do you work for? Now, you can exercise your right to remain silent, but she's not necessarily exercising her right to remain silent either. And it's just weird how this is like, what is going on? [Music] >> Well, the car that you came with just got stopped by the state police trying to leave. You know what I mean? probably because you told them we were here. So we want to tell what's going on. I'm just going to go off. >> Do you want to do >> you want to tell me about Jack? >> Okay. By who? Doesn't matter. >> By who? >> It shouldn't be too hard of a question, right? >> Yeah. Every day, every body cam I watch reinforces the fact that I do not have the patience to deal with people like this. I don't have the patience to ask the questions knowing I'm not going to get an answer and then they play dumb or they act like I'm dumb for asking a very practical question. I do not have the patience for this. Yeah. >> So, how do you [Applause] So anyway, she came here and you >> Oh, so you already previously g information before she even came in. [Music] trying to pull up this account's others. >> It's kind of loud with the background, but it sounds like they were bank hopping. And I don't know why they think the banks don't talk to each other. >> Okay. Yeah. Would you willing to get over and save? >> So, want to tell me about what they're telling me is that you've been to a couple other banks already trying to cash and they turned you away and they notified other banks and that this different signatures than the typical ones on the account and that the security features are different as well. So, it's a bad check. Who are your three friends? >> We're done with the phone. >> We're done with the phone. You can either put it down or I can take it as evidence. What do you want to do? >> Put it down. >> I can take it right. Because you we're not going to be texting about what's going on. Okay? >> If you pull out the phone again, listen, listen. Stop. You are listening while I'm talking. If you pull the phone out again, I'm going to take it as evidence. Okay? >> I promise you that. go in your pockets and grab it from me. >> Mhm. >> Make sure she doesn't take it. >> What was that? Can you jump your pockets for me? Can you put that right here? I'm just going to keep this for the time being. We'll get this back to you. Okay. I'm going to see what the investigating officer is going to do. All right. >> Okay. I'm not going to go through it or anything. I'm just going to see what the investigating officer wants to do. Okay. If he's going to get it back to you, I don't know what the entire investigation. >> All right. I'm not going to go through it. I'm going to stand right with you and I'm going to put it right in my pocket. >> Good. >> Why did you leave her today? I was driving to drive home but she was taking pretty long but I didn't know why you know I didn't I didn't speak to her you know >> I didn't know why she was taking long but I didn't like I didn't think it was a you know a police issue >> you know so >> you just left her there cuz you were going to go get gas >> yeah but I was coming right back you know she has a phone you know like so it's not like I was going to leave her in Connecticut you know >> I am standing here with you right Now, I'm not going to go through your cell phone. I'm just keeping it in my possession for the time being. >> He told you to do that? >> He told me that if you take it out just to take it. >> But I didn't take it out. >> Well, I was searching for I was searching you to make sure you didn't have any other checks or anything on you. Again, I am not >> just tricked me. >> I'm not I'm not Again, I'm not >> even if he tricked her to get the phone, I still obviously on most of the ones where they get stopped at a bank and they're detained, they take the phone. So, well, however he got the phone, he got the phone. They don't let them stay on their phones uh while they're detained most times. So, I I mean, it is what it is. I don't know if that was his intent and that's how he was going to take the phone, but either way, to expect to still be on your phone texting or taking your phone is crazy or having your phone is crazy. That's not going to happen. You're you're under investigation. Um I think that was one of the guys or a person that was in the white Honda Civic that she uh came in cuz they were like, "Uh there's no white Honda Civic out here." Um, I think he was one of the ones that was in that white Honda Civic that brought her here. >> It was right there. >> I didn't trick you. I was just searching to make sure you didn't have any other I'm not here to trick you. I'm trying to I'm trying to give you I'm being strict. I'm trying I'm being honest with you. >> You told me to take out. I told you just everything on the table. >> I didn't I used my flashlight just allowed to I didn't I didn't use my flashlight. >> That's another misconception I see at traffic stops at this wherever someone has to be searched and they're a woman. Um, there are some counties, possibly a couple of whole states or so, that do say it has to be a woman that searches a woman, but just sheer statistics, that's not practical that it'll always be a woman searching a woman in most places. So, unless that is the actual statute or whatever there, that's not the default. There's just more men in law enforcement. Now, a lot of them I see that they had to change their procedure and say they're only going to touch them with the back of their hand and stuff like that, but it is not a guarantee that you if you're a woman, you will only be searched by a woman. >> All right. I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I'm just giving >> So, you don't you don't know that you were at like three different banks today? You don't know why you guys were leaving with your friend the bank? >> Like I said before, [Music] Why are you riding in vehicles with people you just found out their real name on the same day? Either you lying or you crazy. It's one or the other. Cuz why would you be in a vehicle with someone and you don't even know who they actually are? >> A bunch of blank paper. printed checks. All the same, unfilled out, the same signature. >> Dang. >> And then you got a bunch of red checks. >> Turn around. >> Who's being detained right now? Okay. We will be back momentarily for like statements and stuff. You need something. >> You want the window cracked again? Okay. >> Hello. >> So, I actually got a little bit more information. Also, the requested about the actual customer. So, I talked to the brain commentary and the person that was in here did successfully cash. copy [Music] of the check. >> So, when they look at all those checks that she's going to say that, oh, those are 20 rent checks because that was her. It's from my employer and it's for rent. Didn't make sense to me. Now, they found a whole folder of checks. So, are all of them from your employer and they're for rent? Like I just think again exercise your right to remain silent because y'all the explanations sound ridiculous. >> You guys want >> And are you able to see how many times they were able to cash checks. >> Okay. If needed, would you be willing to testify? >> Yeah. >> You're all done, right? [Music] I'm not going to say anythingbody records music and stuff. Don't leave me. [Music] >> Yes. The suspects were all charged with conspiracy to commit lararseny and a felony count of forgery. >> Oh, I didn't even I I didn't even realize it was four of them. I should have known. Obviously, the outfit changed with the red and the black. Okay. So, larseny forgery. Okay. 26 29 29 28. Wow. Okay. All right. Last one. This one is from This is Body Cam. Delusional rappers bank fraud scheme ends in disaster. >> On April 25th, 2025, officers responded to the Members First Credit Union after it was alleged that 26year-old Jabari Dennis had attempted to cash a fraudulent check by changing the name of the recipient, which coincidentally was reported stolen just days prior. Here's what happened when officers arrived. >> Hi, how are you, sir? >> Doing good. What's going on? >> Wring on something. >> You have an ID on you. >> She got it. Okay. So, I started doing dirt bike. >> He gave you this for a dirt bike. Yeah. I tried to do the mobile then taking a certain amount of days. I got perform. I just was at K last night and I got another one next week. You have the dude's information that he sold to. >> I don't got his information. >> So, it was a friend of a friend. >> All right. So, this one's because he sold a dirt bike. This is why he has the check. Okay. What kind of bike was it? >> You don't know anything about it? >> So, you don't know what kind it was? How did you get the dirt bike? Um, what how do you know how much to sell the dirt bike for? Like, what do you mean you don't know? But that's what you were selling. >> I can tell you the color. Do you have any messages or anything to say that you sold to somebody? >> Okay. Um, so you're saying name on that and then the check number at the top that was recorded. after the department. >> Okay, I'm going have to skip over the narration parts, but um Okay, so now he also has no paper trail, no history of communication between the person that wanted to buy the dirt bike and who he sold it to then reaching out anything not even maybe he said it was a friend of a friend. So that the friend contacted you to say I got a friend that wants to get a dirt bike. No, there's no there's not going to be any history of that either. Of course. his side. >> Anything about the dirt bike and you don't have anything that says >> you have it on another phone? >> So, what was the name that was supposed to be on the check? >> Okay. Do you have any other information from Miss Deborah other than that? >> Okay. What's the dude's name? first name, last name, something. >> Of course, you don't have his first name or last name. Of course, you don't cuz you I I feel like a lot of these are just stating the obvious, but because there is no dude, there is no first name or last name to have because that's not how you got that check. All right. So, basically, we're here because this check is fake. Okay. Yes, this check is fake. It's recently been your information. So, that's why that's why I'm here. >> So, when you when did you sell? Do you have pictures of said dirt bite? >> So the check number itself and then the name on it obviously was supposed to be her name and it's been changed correctly. What was the amount on that check that was supposed to receive >> rides [Music] like okay >> you don't have any proof of anything >> on this phone that's >> what the dude look like >> and that and and we all know doesn't make sense, too, cuz even if you change phones, the way that our messages are backed up these days, like come on, it would just be on your new phone. It's not on your old phone's hard drive or whatever. Like, it's internal memory card. It's like it's on just an electronic trail in general, whether it's your iCloud, your whatever y'all have. Like, stop playing your Facebook Messenger, your DMs, whatever it is. Like, it's still on whatever phone you change to. It's it's just like a waste of time to states to tell these lies. >> I'm just telling you. Just hold on. We just had the same situation happen. >> Um, I'm not exactly sure to be honest with you. I'm pretty sure just him having this check him [Music] No, it's a real >> Yeah. That's like if they think they play it cool enough that whatever dumb answer they give will be believed. That's what they act like. Like this doesn't make sense. And and you're the hundth or thousandth person these cops have seen that are um trying to cash a fraudulent check. Y'all don't even y'all you don't even I don't know make up a different way or nothing. It's always the same stuff. And it's just you don't know details. You don't have a history of communication with anybody on how you got the check. You don't have even if they're like, "Oh, I'm a contractor. I do odd odd jobs. What do you do?" Oh, I don't know. Or like they they have no answers. It's like it's better just don't even answer. Just take the handcuffs and wait for your public defender because you don't have any good reasons on why you're doing this. >> That's a good point, too. I'm finding more people that have never had to write a check. No one has written them a check. Yeah. So, stop playing. Like, they're going to cash app you or whatever electronic way, Vinmo, Zale, they're not nobody's really writing you a check most times. It's not happening. Even um older companies that do checks, you're going to get it as a electronic direct deposit. Now, they don't really write too many physical checks anymore. I know it still happens. That's how these checks are being rewritten over, but it's it's less and less likely. Can we open this? >> Open this. >> This is a little side quest that happened. Uh the the cop's car has started smoking. So when you see him rushing out, it don't have nothing to do with the check right now. 115. I don't need fire. It's just over. It's off. >> An officer who was in the immediate area now arrives on scene to assist with the fraudulent check. Jabari keeps finding ways to incriminate himself even further. >> So as soon as you touch it I mean all this Don't think on Wednesday. This was >> I think it's probably probably something like aerosol can or something. I never >> Well, so if if a dirt bike existed, which I don't believe a dirt bike existed, he's also admitting to a crime cuz he didn't intend to register the dirt bike that he supposedly bought off somebody else. Not surprised. Also, this cop does not have the patience of the other cops that were there previously. I'm not I'm notified. [Music] I didn't >> sleep at KP I have my iPad. My iPad and my phone are two different. >> Okay. To my iPhone owners, because I don't know anything about this, is it normal to have just on average people that have different iPhone and I Apple devices? Do y'all have different iClouds for each device or is it more likely that you have a central account like we have our Google accounts and stuff like that or would you have a different iCloud per device because that don't make sense to me but that's that I don't I don't have Apple stuff >> right now your fult He really think he talking himself out of something right now. He really think he doing something. I'm not messing with you. >> Even this sounds dumb. He has no street smarts because he can't even get this part right. You do know what a discount is. If you're saying, "If you're my people or you're my people's people, I'm going to give you a price that I'm not going to give somebody else that I don't have a connection with." You do know what that means as far as, "Okay, I'm going to give you a discount. How much is a discount?" Uh, there's no discount. That doesn't make sense then. What are you talking about? Cuz you're talking about hooking them up with a discount. And you don't even supposedly know the value of this non-existent dirt bike. So you don't even know if you're cheating yourself by selling it for less than what it's worth, which no, there's no dirt bike. The dirt bike doesn't exist. But I'm just saying even in his his lack of street smarts, he makes no sense. Like just shut up. >> If I have a good relationship with you, it can be the same price as me and you, but me and your relationship stronger than his, you're going to be a better price. >> But what is the better price? How much is something worth? So then you know how much to discount it for the family price. And he give, look at the look. Look at where I paused. The look he's giving them is like, why are y'all acting dumb? When it's like, you are dumb. Why? No one's going to understand this cuz you don't make sense. You still have to know how much something is worth so you know how much to discount it to still make it worth it to you to sell it at all. Like, oh my god. So frustrating. I'm telling you what the discount is for. You don't know what the bike is actually worth. >> I don't care what your bike is worth. >> If you care more about the bike is worth than I do, whose part is that? >> The only way. And then there's another thing. There was no dirt bike. I know guys. I know. But I'm just saying if you bought this dirt bike off to off of someone else with the intent to sell, you at least will want to sell it for more than what you bought it for because you're doing it for a profit. So, you at least have to know at least that value. This is a dumb explanation. And he is frustrating me. Take me out my clothes. All my clothes. >> Oh my god. Yay. >> Good. >> Yep. I can't stuck. You got a transport. >> Sorry. Do you want to go to 18 multi? >> Okay. Yeah. >> A guy with a knife or something. >> 2202. I'll be robbed at 1881 from uh F hospital. >> 218. It's 218 on like a 54 or something. Is this yours? >> Or is this That's yours. >> That's his good hands. I know. >> I don't Fix him. I'll try. >> I mean, he was like an >> Walker, what are you doing? You going back to the precinct? You going to give me a ride? Jabari Trayon Dennis was charged with thirdderee felony forgery and misdemeanor obstruction hindering law enforcement subsequently marking his third run with law enforcement over the past few years. As a result, Jabari spent a 26 days in prison before his case was transferred to the Superior Court where his legal proceedings continue. >> Wow. Oh my gosh, he was annoying. He was very annoying. Okay, so those that's it for now. Um I will see y'all whenever I can see you again. Thanks for hanging out with me and I will talk to y'all later. Replay gang gang. Let me know what y'all think in the comments. All right. Bye.
