have more choices
[Applause]
how you doing Oscar flowers for a stop
your front headlights out up there and
then I also saw you almost go off the
road there on Clifton when you pulled
out so I'm sorry where are you heading
tonight home where you live at
Rocky River okay where were you or where
are you coming from
your friend's house
gotcha do you have your license and
insurance on you
any weapons in the vehicle no
no how much have you had to drink
tonight
zero yeah yeah okay
what caused you almost to go off the
road or you just no I just like oh it's
it's a weird like around the ball right
roundabout
and there's no roundabout on Clifton
your license and proof of insurance cool
all right
what happened to the back end of your
car I saw there's like a bunch of mud
and everything all stuck up in there
really yeah
I really don't know is this your car
yeah okay
I was just asking if you're driving
somebody else's
real quick all right Erica do you know
the English alphabet yeah okay so what I
want you to do is recite the alphabet
from A to Z without singing it so you
know how they kind of taught you the
song in elementary school don't sing it
just a through z okay are you serious
yes a b c d e f g h i j k l f f l p u r
s t sorry
John okay
all right so what we're gonna do all
right here listen listen you can't do
this listen you want to shut off the car
for me no all right I'm just gonna run
you through some tests all right just
make sure you're good to drive okay so
I'm gonna have you step out
yes we're gonna step out over there yes
I'm done please okay well you're still
gonna have to step out I don't look good
yes you got you gotta step out come on
let's go unbuckle and step out of the
car
what's not do this the hard way okay
yeah okay so like I said you want to go
over there with this officer
we're gonna go up here on the sidewalk
okay
all right so I guess I'm gonna run you
through a few tests okay just to make
sure you're good to drive I'm fine all
right so what I'm gonna have you do
stand with your feet together just like
this arms down on your side okay you
wear glasses or do you wear contacts
anything like that no okay have you had
any recent head trauma or head injuries
okay nothing anything with your like
knees ankles hips back no neck nothing
no injuries or medical conditions I
should know about okay nothing nettle no
that you wouldn't be able to take these
tests no okay so for this first test
what am I have you do okay I'm gonna
have you stand same position feet
together arms down on your side yeah
you're gonna follow the tip of my finger
with your eyes and your eyes only okay
you're not going to move your head if
you need to you can place your hands
under your chin like this and cup your
chin if that will help you keep your
head still okay yeah so like I said
all right there we go tip of my finger
only
keep falling my finger
all right that's it for that test all
right so next test what we're gonna do
okay so would you say this is pretty
flat surface it's dry I've stayed there
so pretty flat surface dry no nothing
you could trip on right all right so I'm
gonna have you do for this test all
right you're gonna put your right foot
in front of your left foot in a heel to
toe manner just like this and you're
going to keep your arms down here at
your side all right you're going to stay
in this position until I tell you to
begin the test okay so stay in that
position during the instructions what
I'm gonna have you do you're going to
imagine that there's a straight line
going down okay so what you're going to
do you're going to take nine Heel To Toe
steps down that line once you get to
that ninth step you're going to take a
series of small steps to turn yourself
around and then you're going to take
nine more Heel To Toe steps back down
that line while you do this test
remember you're going to count out each
step out loud remember to keep your arms
down at your side okay so get back in
that position
all right so it's going to look
something just like this all right no
don't don't begin until I tell you to do
something so get back in that position
just like that now I'm going to
demonstrate it for you all right it's
gonna look something just like this
one two three and so on until you get to
nine you're gonna take a series of small
steps to turn yourself around and then
you're going to take nine more Heel To
Toe steps down one two three and so on
until you get to nine okay okay you can
begin the test
foreign
okay
all right last test all right what we're
gonna do
I'm gonna start in this position feet
together arms down on your side all
right you're gonna stay in this position
until I tell you to begin the test all
right so for what you're going to do for
this test you're gonna whatever foot
that you're most comfortable with you're
gonna lift one of your foot your feet
off of the ground approximately six
inches off of the ground all right
keep your foot flat nope not until I
tell you to begin stay in that position
so you're going to lift whatever foot
you're most comfortable with okay you're
going to keep that foot parallel to the
ground approximately six inches off the
ground and you're going to watch the tip
of your toe all right you're going to
count the men are one thousand one one
thousand two one thousand three and so
on until I tell you to stop all right
get get back in the starting position
and tell you to begin I'm demonstrating
all right so like I said it's gonna look
something just like this approximately
six inches off the ground foot parallel
to the ground and you're gonna look at
the tip of your toe one thousand one one
thousand two one thousand three and so
on until I tell you to stop okay all
right I'll tell you when to begin
all right you can begin
remember comment out loud
I can't I'm sorry you can't you don't
think you could do this no I just it's
okay so one more thing all right stand
just like this you're gonna put your
arms out at your side yeah put your feet
together arms at your side all right put
your arms behind your back you're going
to be under arrest for OVI yes
do you have somebody who would be able
to pick you up
to do this are you serious
sorry
though
hey stop stop moving stop moving
what's the worst case scenario you're
out in a couple hours that's just it
just goes that's fine that's okay listen
[Music]
I'll explain more when we get inside the
car okay
I will
I'm sorry
what should we call you yep
you want to call her
we'll be up here like okay well we gotta
wait until we're gonna have one of our
female officers come up here and they're
gonna search you before we put you in
the car okay well
okay well like here listen like we said
I have no listen okay listen to me ready
calm down
so like am I gonna calm down all right
like this officer listen like this
officer said all right if one of your
friends
here I have no friends here
worst case scenario you're just going to
spend a couple hours with us until you
sober up and then you'll get released
okay so like I said it's either if you
had a friend that could pick you up once
we get back and finish they could have
picked you up but if you don't have
anyone you're gonna stay for at least
six to eight hours and then we're gonna
release you so I mean the time right now
is 11 30.
so you should be out in time okay
well we can't put in a car yet we're
gonna have one of our female officers
come and search you search me for what
we gotta make sure you have no weapons
or anything else
please search everyone yeah search
everybody
listen is there anything in the car that
you're gonna need like a phone or wallet
or purse
that's the worst day of my life
we got away
from outside like a couple days ago like
please leave me alone like just I want
to go with the car
put me in the car please just put me on
we can't put you in the car yet like I
said please
awesome
so you're just gonna have to be a little
patient for a little bit while females
searching
I think you had two purses in there we
can grab one for you I don't care I
don't
care well here's the thing the car is
going to get towed so whatever is in the
car yes so whatever's in the car is
going to go to the tow yard that's why
we're asking you what are you gonna need
so that you can always
almost gonna get told like what the [ __ ]
we'll give you all the info did you hit
anything no like what
happened stuff inside your muffler I'm
just asking anything okay
are you guys serious like
I'm gonna hate this I'm sorry
my whole life is ruined just so you guys
know my entire life is ruined
thank you
I feel like a [ __ ] idiot like I'm
you think I'm stupid I know yes you do I
don't trust me you deal with my job no
we don't kill myself
it's a mistake
my whole life is strong let me ask you
this are you hurt no my entire life is
true
because yeah this is a ticket no it's
the only reason you're going to be
coming with us is because you've got a
little bit too much to drink that's all
it is
you get a ticket and then after that's
all sending you just get out and you
take care you're gonna tell my car but
that's not like you're not going to be
able to get your car back you're gonna
be able to get it back it's just we have
no one to give the cards
I can't have this I
I work for it I work for Spirits I can't
that's something you go to court for you
figure out but as of right now this is
what we're supposed to do
it's all it is is you made a mistake you
had a little too much drink that's all
it is I get it I'm just really sad I'm
getting divorced
I'm sorry to hear that so are you I am
done my dad died
and we were really sorry no you're not
you know you're not we are we're people
too
I get it
I actually have a master's in criminal
justice I hate this [ __ ] I get it it's
it's horrible and I'm sorry
everyone makes mistakes
I keep sorry
[Music]
I can't do this
I don't want to go to jail
like we said you want to go back we're
gonna do a few more things for paperwork
and like he said you're gonna probably
stay with us anywhere between six and
eight hours
yeah
so what what all do you need out of the
card I don't know because he so what
he's going to do right now he's going to
inventory your car okay so we don't care
that's nothing there's nothing in the
car well look I'm just gonna explain
what we're gonna do from here so you
kind of know what's going on right so
what he's going to do he's going to
inventory the car we have our body cam
so it's going to show everything that's
on the vehicle at this time all right so
basically we could say that this thing
was inside the car at this point nothing
in the car no we it's not to find
anything that's bad what it is is that
we're just showing everything that's in
the vehicle at this point in time
because it's getting towed right so say
you go to the tow yard and something's
missing we at least have it that it was
there
okay so like I said he's gonna go in
anything you need like your phone or
wallet all right whatever all right
foreign
laughs
I'm sorry
all right
good all right all right Erica we're
gonna go over here
and we're gonna get in the back of this
car okay just watch your stuff it's a
little
all right are you seriously
anymore
all right
got it
all right
[Music]
