[Music] there's a way to make an entrance my destiny it was now a conspiracy of witches download veli today across britain police are on the trail of thousands of people who are wanted for arrest you could be walking down a high street anywhere in the uk look left and right of you and essentially there are people wanted that's him i think that's him bail jumpers pardoned criminals desperados on the run they're going to try and hide do whatever they can to make the trail go cold this series follows a specialist tactical unit from kent police with a mission to hunt these suspects down i joined the police to catch people that's exactly what this team does we are pretty formidable uni you would not want us to come after you he has known to be very violent particularly towards police officers stakeouts surveillance manhunts it's a game of tactics and nerve anyone that says that they don't get an adrenaline rush going through a door of a house when you don't know what's on the other side is lying stay still this team will do everything within their powers to arrest suspects relax your arms relax your arms and bring them in they're doing what they can to evade us and we're doing what we can to catch them it's quite fun sometimes the place each year across britain thousands of offenders released from jail on probation break the rules and are recalled to prison if they refuse to hand themselves in they must be hunted down in kent that job falls to the specialist tactical unit all right morning everyone today sergeant ian cameron and his 10 strong team have been tasked with tracking down a fugitive who's been on the run for nearly three years this is carlos ferreira he is wanted for recall to prison he's also wanted for remaining unlawfully at large after the recall attempts have been made to locate him by others in the past which have been unsuccessful he was convicted in 2008 for a large-scale fraud he served some time in prison was released on licence with conditions having breached those license conditions he was recalled never to be seen again it appears carlos ferreira has been at large since he was recalled to prison in 2014 but now the team have new information target premises today as you can see on the picture is a five-bedroom detached dwelling we will approach from this direction coming down we'll park up here outside some of these houses approach on foot door entry with enforcer and julie mark door brace danny dynamic entry through the front door dominate the premises control the occupants if he is there he's probably going to do whatever he can to try and escape haven't been on the run for three years okay i've seen people that have been recalled and managed to get away with it for a period of time you know months maybe but three years never there's a chance that ferreira could have weapons so pc mark beaumont wants to be prepared every time i go to these jobs is the unknown a lot of these offenders have weapons and they attack police it is exciting you never know the reaction of the person behind the door the team are heading out in unmarked cars and playing clothes to maximize the elements of surprise he was deemed to be the gang leader of a group involved in defrauding insurance companies and it was that totaled 750 000 pounds there's everyone left yeah we're just on the roundabout outside cold up not far behind you pc rachel tappenden will be among the first group through the door it's going into the unknown isn't it i mean they've got limited information as loose inside so it could be a couple one person in there there could be six so the team assembles near the target address ian lays out his plan when we go we have to be entirely ready at the point we move forward body armor on yellow police strike cats and we'll try and keep it as covert and approach as we can there could be some anti there so we just need to make sure that it is seamless as the house has a good view of the approach roads the team plan to move in at speed from the rear of the property before anyone inside can react but ian is awaiting word from a covert observer who will advise him on the best moment to strike pretty much just standing by for a phone call to come in so you get some kind of indication it's the right time to do the strike yeah okay i wait here no worries yeah cheers cheers back no we may well do it at 12. everyone's on tentacles waiting for the phone to go i think yeah and we're standing by and then when it does come in everyone suddenly switches on camera speaking skipper's on the phone at the moment um so we should have yael nay sort of any minute now so we're just getting ready this is when everyone starts to go a bit quiet [Music] pc danny baker will help break the door down if they need to force entry every door you go through there's a potential to come across something dangerous you just don't know what to expect right when we travel stay tight when we pull over just follow our lead form up and i will signal and it is going to be rapid just be aware on our arrival of potential movement on the white side you still get those butterflies and that you can feel that adrenaline going in your heart races a little bit because you know what's expected and you just want to make sure everything goes all right premises is the last one at the end of the road on the near side the units don't know how many people are in the house that strike strike struck [Music] and if they find ferreira there's no knowing how he'll react premises is the last one at the end of the road on the near side sergeant ian cameron is leading his specialist tactical team on the hunt for a convicted fraudster just here yeah they're hoping to catch carlos ferreira who's been on the run for nearly three years strike strike strike play stay still stop please heads up no hands up put that light on someone [Music] do you understand you're under arrest breach of power conditions you've been wanting three years my license is extended it's finished well that's to be resolved isn't it at the moment we were suspicious on norfolk at large ferreira may claim it's all a big mistake but danny isn't buying it downstairs yeah where is it i've got a bag of clothes that's okay you sit down i'm showing you look look i'm going in there i've got vaguely clothes here to take custody right take a seat me yet because he's ready to go prison bag so he's got dressing gown slippers wash bags razors for prison stuff so he he clearly was expecting that he would have to go back one day to serve his sentence it's good from our point of view because we've had he's been outstanding for three years we get given the job and on day one we've got him in custody yeah he got hold of him before he knew we were here and uh really he was in handcuffs and it was all over before he had any chance to escape so yeah it's good finally ferreira's time on the run is over how long has that bag been ready then that bag's been ready really long um a little long it doesn't seem worth it when you look at it because he hasn't settled in that three years there's no way he's been comfortable ever in that three years because he's always worried he's going to go to prison so he has theoretically extended his sentence if he'd gone back and served his time which was a very short period of time he could have come out and got on with his life what we've got in there just clothing yeah don't turf it all out i did have my stuff ready as you can see i had my things ready so i can come in and say look i mean now let's get this out of the way because i just can't live like that anymore it's just like i just couldn't live life thinking there's something always hanging on your back at least this way whatever it will be will be oh it's going to search you're going to put your t-shirt on no in there were 410 000 burglaries in the uk last year but the thieves were caught and prosecuted in under 10 of cases it often falls to the specialist tactical team to track down some of these elusive burglars today's wanted man is a ruthless offender who targets the elderly right this is miles cash he's wanted on suspicion of theft in dwelling a male described as white 27 to 33 with short dark hair wearing a fluorescent jacket managed to gain access to the home address of a 79 year old male who had advertised a shotgun for sale he proceeded to steal the gun miles cash is suspected of using deception to steal a shotgun from an elderly man all good if we look to be on the road in five minutes it's really unsavoury to prey on the vulnerable to steal from the vulnerable and take advantage of either their good nature or ill health that is right at the end of the scale of what is morally wrong so it's really important then that we try and catch these people as quickly as possible pc kim white is one of the units intelligence officers helping them search for cash miles is one of their young traveller lads who has now got quite a bad drugs habit and what we've got is a firearm out there if he's on drugs and he's drug dependent and he's trying to you know get his money from wherever he can it could be up to up to doing anything so at the moment you know it's just a case of us us finding him [Music] the team head out to miles cash's last known address a caravan on the corner plot of an irish traveller's site we're going to uh traveller's site it's a private travelers site where people come and go um don't stay there very long they don't like us being on there but they're uh you can talk to them they're probably you know friendly enough unless you stop them doing something yeah if you start doing something they shouldn't then a attitude will change see the sight just here danny and rob block the only exit while the rest of the team drive onto the site this looks like it could be migrant workers how are you spanish and what about both spanish we uh we're going to do a search please do search of this piece you live there yeah yeah polish okay yeah yeah polish yeah they find miles's caravan but someone else is staying there now how long have you been down here they were staying in there he said there's only really two days team spread out and begin searching the rest of the traveler's site good morning we're looking for miles we need to speak to him it comes from within a close-knit community who are largely reluctant to give us any information or to go out their way necessarily to help us catch them have you seen miles up here recently [Music] but miles cash is nowhere to be seen can we receive it right start thinning out then the units now hope that word will spread through the traveller community that he's wanted sometimes in in some of these cases um when they know that they they're wanted um by us then they will give themselves up [Music] it's not long before the team receive a call from cash to say that he intends to hand himself in pc sasha azizi and jai shoka are sent to wait for cash to turn up they don't like police going on to their site all the time they don't like the attention and because of our team and what we do you know we pressurise people to getting people to hand themselves in that's it in the doctor's surgery wait for your name to get called out half an hour later instead of the wanted man it's miles cash's partner who arrives she's even put her pajamas on to come in she's wearing her finest pajamas yeah it's a tribute to the seriousness of the offense that she showed up in her jimmies this is jim jams on only she's turned up she has no contact with him we split up we're not together anymore and just give it the usual spiel my own feelings are that this is a tactical recce on the part of him all the facts will be relayed to her he will get an appreciation and an overview of the job find out the strengths or weaknesses and or of evidence and then make his mind up do i a go on the run and bug her off somewhere else or do i be yeah i'm probably not going to get reminded and locked up for this because there's great big holes in it i'll come and surrender myself miles cash is now on the run with the stolen shotgun unaccounted for the unit need to step up their investigation he's dangerous and the most important thing is to get him he's let us down once already and he's clearly not a man of his word and he's not someone that we can trust that's going to come back and surrender himself so i've taken the decision that actually we are going to preempt that and we're going to try and intercept him a new lead has come in cash could be heading for london by train right we're going to go for it we are going to try and get up there sooner rather than later yeah ben just take it nice and steady there's no point hammering in this weather going on the run is one thing but it's hard to go on a run without a plan you know if you haven't got a lot of cash if you haven't got a vehicle accommodation contact in other parts of the country it's difficult unless you've got a genuine means of income the team think miles cash could arrive at houston station within the next two hours we managed to intercept him at houston have you witnessed well we should if we know the train and we know the platform it's got to get on there and spot it we've been with this four of us and the mark cars waiting outside should be out again [Applause] once the team reached london they hit a problem the traffic this is a pain in the ass isn't it we're getting a bit tight you've got 10 minutes till that train's due in we're stuck back at the lights if cash is able to get off the train unnoticed he'll be able to disappear into the busy crowds you might just better throw me out there in the corner and i'll just go and cover it [Music] it's up here on the right mark we just have to just say no i'm on foot i should be able to get to the gate for two o'clock ian makes it to the station with less than a minute to spare i'm 14 ten is that one [Music] yeah just for information it's platform 14 it's just arrived i am at the end of the platform with eyes if cash is on the train ian faces catching the wanted man on his own sergeant ian cameron is at houston station hoping to catch suspected burglar miles cash yeah just for information it's platform 14 it's just arrived i am at the end of the platform with eyes police intelligence suggests he could be arriving here soon i think the others are coming by the sounds of it so houston station there you go the rest of the team are racing to join him but for now ian is on his own don't anyone else rush here last few stragglers coming off looks like a negative there's no sign of cash i'm thinking right what's the next plan how am i going to get him because i'm determined that we're going to get him but there's a chance that he could be on the next train i've got it just as it has just started to come off so it definitely wasn't on there wasn't even anyone similar with the team assembled they prepare to make an arrest at the busy station put mark and or jai on the platform two of us two of us at the top and then the mark just out of eye shot that you can just stand like that and you just see them coming and they've got nowhere to go and if and if you've got someone on the platform you got covered anyway quite often you'll see myself and jai uh out in plain clothes brother and we go out together uh hunting ahead previously i have waited for someone in plain clothes to come out and address i had numerous people come up to me asking me if i had any drugs on me any other drug dealer once in position all the team can do is watch and wait three or four players resources the train available [Music] there's a lot of places to hide and there's a lot of opportunities to try and run and the last thing we want is a situation where someone gets spooked and tries to run across the track or run back up the line or put themselves in any danger or put any members of the public in danger so we're just trying to use every advantage we've got to catch him before he realizes what's happening there's loads of people coming off you often doubt your ability to recognize people because we haven't necessarily a lot of people we go after we've not met before and we're going on images that we're provided with and you're looking at every single person coming off that train and you think is that him is as the last few passengers disembark there's no sign of miles cash it's not nice when you travel there and actually things fall a bit flat and you realize that he's not on the train you hoped he's going to be on [Music] it seems that he's evaded capture again so it is disappointing but you have to stay motivated and then look for the positive and look how you're then going to progress it and think we haven't been successful this time but how are we going to catch him now 24 hours later the team catch a lucky break miles cash is a wanted man and he's been spotted back in kent with his family at a pub in maidstalk [Music] mark and jai are closest in a car three miles down the road straight straight keep going straight so they're scrambled to make the arrest the important thing is is we're knicking the race is on to get there before church disappears once again go past these nights of encouragement hey make sure i don't get glass or anything [Music] then suddenly they spot a young male heading for the exit [Music] no no no no no no no finally they have their man yeah around the corner we'll go around the corner okay yeah there's no problem there's no problem at all there is a real element of satisfaction in getting hold of these people because i particularly despise the misery that some of these people cause for information you're under arrest on suspicion of burglary jennifer saying it may have been defeated i'll mention when questions would you like something huh anything else in your pockets yeah wear screen pockets [Music] can i have that domino please what the cocaine yeah no no no no no no no no i need it no i need it anytime any jobs he stated that he was on drugs that explained his um his demeanor of how he was like he was sweating a lot as well but for me it was the most important thing was that he was in custody and any any withdrawals that he was having we would deal with that back at the police station make sure he was the right part and the most important thing was to get him into custody and make sure that he couldn't commit another offence with miles cash locked up a volatile and violent offender is next on the target list [Music] he traveled to dover to take part in a far right march against [Music] the artsy immigration flags and salutes the far right demonstrators clashed with a rival anti-fascist group both the left and right wing in my opinion had become lawless that day people have got a right to have a lawful protest but young got a right to start smashing the windows of businesses and smashing you know each other's faces in the streets of denver turned into a battlefield the tactical team were brought in to help contain the incident we were deployed alongside the bp garage from petrol station 4 court where there was a large group of pro right-wing protesters extremely aggressive there were missiles being thrown there was bits of concrete bricks and it was really quite shocking for us but it must have been particularly shocking for the public police used video footage to identify the offenders from both sides 69 people have already been convicted now only one target remains [Music] kevin kennedy was arrested for violence in the demo but didn't turn up to face justice he was captured on the video throwing dangerous missiles [Music] to then be able to go at a later date once all the evidence is gathered and go and get these people yeah there is a bit of personal incentive and pride to get over that person and bring him back so they can face justice the team have been all over the country arresting the rioters now ian is taking three vehicles and eight members of the unit to edinburgh he's previously been arrested for this offence and charged he was bailed to appear at court and made stone where he failed to appear and has effectively been invading justice in edinburgh ever since we're responsible for picking up the offenders as a result of that incident it underpins the whole thing if you just get arrested and we don't follow up with the same gusto then the ultimate deterrent which is prison doesn't happen and it might be a ken offense but we will come and get you wherever you are in the country we're outside the country for that matter all right the next morning the unit assembles near kennedy's address it looks like quite a densely populated area of council flats mark and ours go ahead covertly to fight the flag right by that purge we've just parked outside with the address confirmed the rest of the team move in two scottish officers are on hand here only they have the powers to force entry it's genuinely like something out trainspotted genuinely just tucking out there so we think it's in this block i think this might be right address ian's team surrounds the building cutting off any potential escape ready with kennedy's record of violence ian's not sure how he will react [Music] the police we know you're in there come to the door get control of the dog and come to the door but kennedy is not responding without confirmation that kennedy is inside the unit can't ask the scottish police to force the door they're man's legs i think look at the shape we won't be going away my friend so open the door it's about using your policing skills calling his bluff whatever you want to call it um but you need to make it clear to him that one way or another we're not going away listen when we enforce the door in a moment if you don't come to it we will be spraying your dog with a chemical if it attacks this is your opportunity to open the door and prevent that from happening kevin we're not calling your bluff we are going to smash your door in a minute so i was giving you the last chance to open the door and do this like adults otherwise we're going to take the door off its hinges do you understand how you do it the older the dog mate right come with me i saw you you were dressed differently and you were chucking rocks you've done nothing wrong yeah when you didn't show i thought go back and get him it was going to come one day wasn't it driving to get here you're the last one yes all the others are dealt with aren't they we're ready [Music] yeah i jump in [Music] do you like going on those demos you've always gone on for years is there a lot of right wing in scotland some people are starting on your side the poles and poles are on our side yeah nice big car they are these man with [ __ ] frontliners eight hours later the team finally arrived back in kent why were you in dover because our country's getting too feeling violent just come over here for instance [Applause] underneath that thin veneer of jovial guy lurks a right wing hooligan and that's indoctrinated and you could tell just just chatting to him it came out at will didn't need a lot of probing did it um he's a right-wing hooligan the team's next target comes from even further afield a man who's wanted for a stabbing in lithuania we need to speak to um yeah questions telephone but will the neighbors tip off give the wanted man a chance to get away he knows we're coming now so you've got nothing to lose by phoning him up he's either going to go back to his house so he's going to fly anyway [Music] last year 14 000 european arrest warrants were issued to britain requesting the extradition of wanted suspects thousands try to evade arrest if they service in kent it's the job of the specialist tactical unit to catch them today pc rob woody is leading the operation first task of the day we're going to see if we can locate a lithuanian male called grass you say that for me gracefully dust grigluenus he's wanted on a european arrest warrant it would appear he's had a dispute with someone and he stabbed them a number of times so he's got warning signs of a weapon and he obviously should be treated with caution when we find him grigolunas was recently caught shoplifting in kent which has alerted the lithuanian authorities to his location the first address is on here if you want to have a look it's right in the centre of graves end here that's the front of the house it looks like we'll be able to get around the back here which is what me and teal do we're in the unmarked and we'll get ahead and make sure we've got that covered [Music] the fact that he's committed serious offenses in his own country he means he's probably at risk of offending in this country but it puts the word out as well to people who have who are for an offender is that the uk isn't the safe haven for foreign [Music] come and stay it's the white house out of that row there on the right hand side is the white house earlier if you just roll straight down me and teal be in a position to cover the black so whenever you're ready yes yes rob and kev cover any escape from the rear while danny as and the team moved to the front yeah around the black just give us a shout out you get on daddy got a picture hello there we're looking for the sheet um yeah graduate top he's up there is he yeah is he in at the moment where is this chat with us he's at work we'll be back at five they don't know where he works so we've got a telephone number for him with the element of surprise lost the team face a dilemma about what to do next give him a ring i reckon come back in the morning i'm getting you're lining yourself up for an early start but we've already been to his home address he knows we're coming there so you've got nothing to lose by throwing him up he's either going to go back to his house so he's going to fly anyway yeah well yeah [Music] i need to speak to you about a matter are no so he's not he's not probably not um prior at all he's not interested and the issue is they're saying he works at five o'clock i think we need to get today rather than leave it i think we come tomorrow morning he's all well and good but he disappear again to another flat he's gonna have to turn up doesn't he well he's already in passport clothing everything's in this he's gonna be at his home address isn't it there's a high probability he's coming back we we know that we're very confident so it is that is your one and only chance to get him really because if we fail then it's over rob decides to lay a trap in the hope that griggly eunice will return the marked car is positioned out of sight at a nearby car park and officers in plain clothes will be in position at either end of the street we're parked just beyond it so we'll see anyone that walks up from the town towards the premises or if someone stops outside the front of it they plan to allow their target to return home and enter the property he will then be boxed in grigor leones isn't due home till after five but at 4 40 jai spots someone approaching the positive identification of that subject he's walking down in a red t-shirt having a hold on he's got like a white uh respawn we're just gonna go the team close in top window up there joy in fact you want to cover there was a door at the back that was open their voices up there aren't there here we go contact contact we'll grab your left here us grab you there you are okay if you're going to listen to me there's a warrant for your arrest you should buy a little from lithuania okay do you understand yes no do you understand english at all is there anyone here that can translate yeah i'll get him watch uh you now police station okay police station here after court after home airplane or maybe stay you understand okay okay because in the past you in at home you understand yeah okay that's why we're taking you there all right international language it's better for having children you see okay wriggly illness is taken to the police station where an interpreter will explain the arrest warrant to him which is pretty impactive for him actually when you consider one that he's at home he's done a day's work and he pretty much has left his former life behind for all intents and purposes now he's going to wake up somewhere else tomorrow and then you know within a few weeks of today he's going to be at home [Music] no which language hello can you explain um to this gentleman that he's been arrested on a european arrest warrant it's a good result for us really you don't win them all but we win a fair few prisons full of people that we managed to catch [Music] next time they're a walking encyclopedia of crime reports and it just tops up the team hunt down one of kent's most prolific offenders you're also under arrest for multiple shopliftings he was known to be very violent and previously found in possession of a seven inch bladed knife and go on the trail of a suspect in a violent gangland robbery it's going to cover the rear property just in case he jumps or decides to throw anything out [Music] you
