So, if you notice, I've got a different cup, a different hat, and an awesome shirt. And they're all from Midwest Safety. So, thank you to Midwest Safety for uh all the cool swag, and thanks for making this video cuz it was awesome. I'm sorry. Hello. Hi, miss. I'm officer Ker with Chris Lake Police Department. Um we're just talking to you because we got a couple complaints um that you might have been swerving on the road or I don't think I You don't think you were? Maybe it was a phone. put you on your phone or for something or No, I'm just a bad driver. I failed drivers twice. Okay. I'm okay. Trust me, I'm trying to drive nice. Hey, we need you to step out, okay? We're going to You're going to come and talk with us over here. Okay. All right, my dear. Here, put your butt right against there. This officer is going to ask you something. She's very aggressive. Have you been drinking at all tonight? No. You just maybe on your phone or something? Maybe. Where are you coming from, Carrie? I just I'm on my music a lot. Your music? Okay. Missou is in Missouri. Um I have a buddy from Missouri. Been friends for a long time. He's a fan of them. I know where it is. Um this looks like a normal college girl, right? Like normal college girl. Kind of seems kind of, you know, quaint and really calm. So I'm kind of wondering where this is going to go because obviously there's a video, so there's got to be something. But she looks super normal here. So, I don't know. Do you have your ID on you? I can check. I just need to look at where you're reaching, my dear. It's right there. Okay. All right. Are you good? Yes. I'm sorry. I'm just stressed. I don't Why Why are you so stressed? Cuz I've been pulled over like once before. Okay. Here. Put your Put your butt right there. Little Miz. 2004. How old does that make you? That makes me 18. 18. Okay. What's your first name? Ellie. Ellie. Hey, Ellie. Do you know what time it is right now? Go without looking. Guess. um about like 6:30. Okay. It's up like it's right now it's uh 7:15. Is there anything that you did today that you think in terms of medications, alcohol, uh prescribed, not prescribed drugs, weed, anything like that that you took today that you think would impair your driving? No. Okay. Did have you had any alcoholic beverages today? No. I have been sober for 6 and 1/2 months. Okay. What about um marijuana? Any marijuana today? Okay. When was the last time you smoked marijuana? I'm sober from alcohol, but not marijuana, but marijuana was probably like yesterday. I think they call that California sober. I don't think it would impair my driving today. Okay. All right. Um so since you've been at Target, you have not consumed any alcoholic beverages. Okay. And that's And they can check the cameras and see that I Okay. Okay. Yeah. Um, is there anything illegal that you may have in the car? No. Okay. So, you have no alcohol in the car? No. Okay. No cannabis weed in the car? You always have the right to remain silent, right? Like, you always have the right You don't have to talk to me. You absolutely don't have to talk to the cops. She didn't have to talk to the cops. What I see here is the cops have a line of questioning that they're going down. And it's pretty direct. Like, they're they're really focused on the impairment and alcohol and marijuana in the car. And they're asking these questions and she's just lying. I mean, it's just every word that comes out of her mouth sounds kind of truthful, you know, like she said she's sober and she's like, "Well, I'm not really sober. I'm just sober from alcohol." So, I I feel like she's she's starting to dig herself a hole. So, you could just not talk or tell the truth, but lie on top of lie on top of lie on top of lie. That doesn't look good. And I guarantee it's not going to look good in court one day. No prescription medication not prescribed to you or any other drugs in the car. You um like what's it called? Uh what's it called when you take things that are like extra vitamins for you? Supplements. Multivitamins kind of but like uh if it's something like over the counter how they sell them at Target, right? That's not that's not supplements. That's what it is. There we go. That's the word. Taking some supplements. Again, our concern is we had two people call in saying that you were swerving on the road and we just wanted to make sure you're okay to drive and and stumbling. That's why after they saw you get out of your car. I pro I promise you I am so so so I you could literally call my boyfriend. Why do I want to call your boyfriend? So So here's the deal though. Okay, I appreciate it. All right, I appreciate what you're saying to me. However, we have a little bit of a problem. Okay. So, I'm going to give you an opportunity to be honest with me. Okay. Because when you opened your door, I saw the bottle of vodka that's in your driver's side of your door. I don't have any. Okay. Well, I saw it. Well, hold on. I don't I don't want you I don't want you reaching in your car. Well, I you could open the door. Okay, I'll open the door. You can see it. Mr. Ca right here. I'm just saying I don't have a bottle of vodka on my side door. Okay. So, you're okay with me opening and looking? Maybe she saw it wrong or something. Okay. She can She can open and look at it. Okay. So, Okay. So, now we have a problem. Okay. What? I have a I have a really big problem. What? Okay. Now, we're not cool. Why? Okay. And I'll explain to you why we're not cool. Because I saw it there. I promise you it wasn't there. your everything's on video. Okay. So, one of the best things about having a body warn camera is you get to tell people your actions are being recorded. Like you see this camera, they're being recorded. Everything's audio video. She just doesn't seem to care. But I don't think probably because she's drunk or high or both. I don't think she understood what was being said. like, hey, all of the evidence that I'm finding against you is on video. It's not my opinion. It's not something I'm making up. Like, the video camera sees all of the evidence. It's like it they made it as very obvious and truthful as possible when they're saying this to this girl and she just totally disregards it. So, now what we're going to do is I'm going to have you stand by with these officers and I'm going to search your vehicle. You don't have the warrant to do that. Actually, I have probable cause. I observed alcohol. You don't have warrant to do that because I observed I have a right No, you don't search my car. Okay. So, I have a right to not let my car unfortunately. No, I have a right to not let you search my car. We're not We're not doing this. I have a right to not let you search my car. We're not We're not doing this. So, come on. Let's go. Get back. You know my right. And you know I have a right to not let you search my car. There's a little weed in the center council. There's a There's a pipe. I see. Yeah, they don't have a right to search my car. Listen to me. They don't. I've been I've been pulled over before and I know you don't have a right to search your car. She mentions about the last time she was pulled over and that they didn't have the right to search a car, which is probably true. If I just pull a car over for normal speeding and I don't see any indesia of anything illegal, no drug paraphernia, no alcohol containers, no nothing, I can't just tell that person to get out and search their car. She is absolutely correct. However, when a person under the age of 21 years old has open alcohol containers in their car, that's called probable cause, and you get to search that vehicle after the arrest of the suspect. So, the first situation was probably vastly different than this current situation. And she thinks that just because it didn't happen on the first one, it doesn't get to happen on the second one. And that's absolutely not true. And these officers do a great job of telling her just that. Chill out. Okay. I know. I don't want to have to put you in handcuffs right now. I know you don't have right to search my car. It's an exception to the law. It's called a mobile conveyance. You guys looked in my car before. You have a right to search my car and you saw the weed and so you you opened the door. It's also plain view. Yes. You don't have a right to search my car. I do. No, you don't. No, you don't. Put her in cuffs right now. time. I'm telling you for a fact, you don't have you don't have a right to search my car. So, listen to me. This is going to go one of two ways, okay? I would rather not put you in handcuffs. I don't want to put you in handcuffs, okay? I don't want to. If you're cooperative, we can figure this out and work through it. I'm just saying you can't search my car without a warrant with seeing a bull in my car. You can't search my car without a warrant. So, I know the law. I know the law because I've looked it up and I know you can't search my car without a warrant. So, I'm not allowing you to, Ellie. I'm giving you one of two choices. I know you can't search my car. Put her in cuffs. You guys know this. These are your choices. You can go stand by that squad car with these two gentlemen. Okay? That's your That's your first choice. If you do not want to do that, your second choice is I'm going to put you in handcuffs. Okay? Which search my car without a warrant? Which do you choose? I'm going to put her in handcuffs. Arguing with you. I'm going to give you one opportunity right now. You can't search my car in handcuffs without a warrant. Oh, it's all in body cam. You can't search my car without a warrant. No, you can. I handcuff. No, that's what repercussions look like. Please don't handcuff me. I'll go with them to the car. I'll go with Oh. All of a sudden, handcuffs come out. You want to change your mind? This female officer tells this suspect exactly what's going to happen. She says, "Go over and stand by the car or you're going to go in cuffs." Suspect says, "No. As soon as she says, "Okay, you're under arrest." Immediately, suspect says, "Hey, I'll go stand by the car." Well, guess what? That round's already downrange. That's that decision's been made. The words, "You're under arrest," came out of that officer's mouth and she's not taking them back. So, the fact that exactly what was going to happen was told to her and then exactly that thing happened and it's like she thought that they were bluffing, like she thought the officers were lying and that they weren't going to put her in cuffs and they had probable cause. She probably should have went in cuffs no matter what. Ultimately, that's where she ends up. But they told you they told her exactly what was going to happen. In the literary world, it's called foreshadowing. And there it is. We gave you the option. Don't handle me. I'll go to the car with them right now. Please. I'll go to the car with them right now. Please. We're not going to do this. Stop. You got to I can't be handled. Please. I'm trying to walk to the car. I can't be handled. Stop. Okay. Right now, you're being placed under arrest. Okay. Mhm. For um Well, we're going to figure it out. It's at least uh we'll go underage possession of alcohol. Alcohol by a minor right now. Okay. Allie, let's not do this. What is wrong with you? Stop it. I cannot be in that car. I can't be in that. Stop. Allie. Ellie. We're not doing this. I can't do this. Good. Take me out. Take me out of the handcuffs. Ellie, stop. Take me out of the handcuffs. Listen. Take me out of the [ __ ] handcuffs. Ellie, stop. Drag me out of my hand. Stop it. Stop. How are you so crazy? You are They told you what was going to happen and then you didn't listen. And now you're crazy. Can you please take Do you understand? You have to stop screaming. I have a scar. Stop screaming. Stop screaming. Take a deep breath right now. Stop talking. Take a deep breath. Stop talking. Deep breath. I'm sorry. Listen to me. You can't fight with us. I will. Just please take me out. I cannot take you out of the handcuffs because of how out of control you're being right now. I'll sit in this car. Absolutely not. I'll sit in this car if you please take me. You're going to sit in there no matter what. Have you unhandced? It's my policy. I can get fired for it. I'll I will stay in this car the entire time. Well, I'm going to need you to sit in the car anyway, but I promise you're going to sit in there anyway. I just Okay, chill. You don't know. Listen, I didn't even do anything wrong. That's not true. Please take off. No, do not buckle me. Then I'm not going to buckle. Please take off the handcuffs because I I I can't with handcuffs. Please. Please. Sounds like a you problem. You have to chill out. Please take off the handcuffs. Please. Right now, I can't. You know why? I'll sit here if you take off the handcuff. You're going to sit there anyway. I'll run out. Ellie, listen to me. Okay. Because of everything that just happened, I need to ensure that you're safe. I don't think you understand how caged vehicles work. Let me try to do some breathing. Okay. He can buckle me up if you take off the handcuffs. Please, sweetheart. Sweetheart, I cannot. He can't buckle me up. So, listen. This is the deal. If you keep fighting like this, my sergeant's on his way here and he has this device called the wrap. Yeah, it's a burrito. Completely restrains you. If you can't calm yourself down the way we are now, I am going to have to put you in that and I don't want to do that. So, we have to stop. Uh we were on a driving complaint uh sort of vanilla road and then we stumbled across her. She entered her car and there was that correct? Yes. Vodka and a bowl in the You guys made contact with her when she came outside, right? Correct. Okay. And then she was kind of combative with us. Okay. What if I didn't drive under the influence? What if I just drank it here? Well, I didn't drive under the influence. Well, she is seated behind the wheel. She has alcohol containers in there. She's obviously ends up being impaired. um she's DUI. Actual physical control means that you have the ability and the intent to drive. It doesn't mean that you are actually driving. So just cuz she's in the parking lot does not mean that she's not DUI. And if it was me, I' I'd be charging her with DUI. Also, that would breathalyze me right now and it would come up as more recent. That's for sweetheart. That's for you to fight in court. Okay, I'll fight that. And I'll say that I was going to have someone come pick me up here. That's fine. I was I was calling my sister. Sure you were. You can, sweetheart. You can fight that in court. Lies, lies, lies. This is what I have to do. I have to take you to the police department. Please don't. This officer is unbelievably That's when the cuffs are going to come off quick. No. All right. Well, listen to me. If I put your seatelt on, we can get you there in 5 minutes and the handcuffs will come off. Sweetheart, we'll figure it all out. Okay. Can I put your seatelt on now? Can we go? Can we go to get these handcuffs off you, Ellie? I just want to drive home. I know. Mr. Burillo is going to hand me this so I can put it on. Can you call her instead of my I? Yes, I can. Yes, I'll call your sister for you. Absolutely. Wait, can you get my phone from my car so I know what else do you need? You need your phone? Do you need anything else from your car? Just my phone. Okay, please. We're going to get you to the police so I can get these off. Tell her to not tell my parents. I can't wear handcuffs. Apparently, the longer we fight, the longer you're going to be in handcuffs. Just please take me to the station and call my sister. If you can chill out, then good, bad. We're on our way. Just Oh, repercussions. Take a deep breath. Oh my god. I can't believe that I actually made these decisions and now exactly what they told me was going to happen is what's happening. That's why they're getting my phone. I just said that. Dumbass. Are you drunk? Dumbass. You can't take that's not very nice though cuz my parents buy those for me. You can't take those from me. My parents buy those for me and I'm 18 and that used to be the age. So you can't take those from me. You can't have it in the back seat. We'll just put it back in the car. How's that? No, you're going to take it then. You can't take it from me or else you have to give me $27. $27 is absolutely the least of this girl's worries right now. Like she's yelling about you have to give me $27. First of all, we don't give people money for contraband that we're taking off them. Um, she doesn't get to keep it in the back of a car. She gets searched before she goes back there. That is been procedure since the beginning of criminals and caged vehicles. So, sorry that you don't get to hit your nicotine vape. Um, which you're obviously addicted to like you're addicted to everything else. Probably marijuana, probably alcohol. Um, like come on. That's just silly. It was a vape. Okay. Wait, she isn't smart. Come on. You can't then give me $27 cuz I just paid all my I paid Wait. But you said your parents gave it to you. Okay. You're going to put it in my car. Put it in your car right now. Okay. Can I hit it first? No. Can I hit it? Stressed. Then you can't take it. Don't take it. Look at this generation. I need it first. Cuz you are just playing games, girl. No, I just want my nicotine. Okay. Well, you can have it. I told you. I'm going to leave it in your car. That's called addiction. You're right. It's not illegal to possess, but my parents bought it for me. They're 21. They can buy it. And I can have it. I just want to hit it before it's gone from me for 5 hours. No. Jesus. Oh my god. Can you please put it in my car? That's what she said. No, cuz I told you not to hit it. What? She told me it was going to Yeah, but she also told you not to hit it. Not going to go in my car. I just put it in my car. I just paid $27 for that. I'm broke as hell. And I need You're broke, but you need nicotine and alcohol. And what is in your What's in your pants right here? Is it just your I don't reach. Do not reach. Oh, okay. Stealing stuff. No, we're going to pull her out and she's going to search her completely and if we have to put her back in the car and put her in the wreckage. Okay. Got to out search. Good gracious. Ellie, if you don't put in the I don't know what you're reaching for. Stop reaching for I'm not reaching, Granny. As you're reaching, Ellie, what I'm going to do is a little bit more of a thorough search. Just like you can't touch me. I give you not search incident. to arrest. I don't give you permission to touch me. I think you understand that to touch me. I don't give you permission to touch me. I don't give you permission to touch me. Just cuz you're out for yourself. Just for yourself, Ellie. Just Why are you screaming? Does that mean you can touch me for yourself? Thank you, Midwest, for this. Touch me without consent. I think you understand how that works. Sergeant gets rap. It's the burrito. It's like angry burrito. You guys hold on to it. I don't want men touching me without They're literally not doing anything. just standing there. Come here. Stop touching me. Okay, I got Keep touching me. Hey, listen. You have to stop, Ellie. Stop fighting. Stop fighting. Stop fighting me. All could have been avoided if she just went and stood by the car. [Applause] Two times speed. Stand up and not be hurt by this [ __ ] hand. Blue lights matter. You guys lower the buckle first. You guys are abusing me. I'm going to bring you all the [ __ ] court. You [ __ ] Then they get to watch this video. I don't know if you want this video in court. Now you're an angry burrito. Thanks for the two times speed. He can only listen to so much of that yelling. Go ahead. Set her up. Set her up. There we go. Knee back. Forward. Back. You [ __ ] Ellie, if you continue to dig your nails into me, I'm going to dig them as deep as you're digging those handcuffs into me. You dick. [ __ ] the cops, bro. [ __ ] hate all of you guys. Ellie, are you injured? Yes. My [ __ ] wrist. Okay, [ __ ] [ __ ] you. Double check your Stop digging your fingernails into my fight him. He can't check your cuffs. They hurt. It hurts. Hold on. Can't possibly be because you're actively fighting. Trying to help. I'm trying to help you. It hurts. You have to stop. You're pulling on it. It hurts. Okay, stop so we can fix it. Okay. Hey. All right, just put her in. I did that. You can just take her straight to What the What? We got to lift her up. Put her in. One, two, three. Now you're in the burrito. [ __ ] angry burrito. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. Stop acting like that. And it wouldn't. My wrists and my stomach. Had I told you this? I can't be in handcuffs. Had I told you that? That sounds like a you problem. Just bring me to the regular police station and call my sister or else I will cause a fit. Oh, cause a fit. Oh no. Who has my vape? Who is going to answer? Who has my baby? Oh no, I need nicotine. Kill me. He's going to break up with me. I would too. Break up with me. I would too yesterday. Oh, five times speed. [Laughter] Midwest Safety, you did such a good job on this. Thank you so much. Please bail me out for $100. One of the reasons that I'm wearing this awesome shirt from Midwest Safety, which by the way is one of my new favorite shirts. Um, a reason that we're such big Midwest Safety fans is they edit their bodywn camera. Great. Instead of listening to this heathen scream bloody murder at the top of her lungs, they fast forwarded for us, which we appreciate. Um, I like all their little the little nuances of stuff, the little stuff that they edit into it. I love it. They did a great job. Um, and they kept this video interesting when it could get kind of monotonous just there listening to this girl scream and flail around. So, Midwest Safety, again, thank you for doing a great job. Why are you guys answering? Why are you answering? I need attention. [Music] [Music] I'm stuck. Help me. Help me, please. [Music] Oh, that's got to hurt. Oh, everything back there is hard plastic. That's got to hurt. Hey, Ellie, we're almost there. Don't hit your head so you don't fall again. Okay. Please get me there. So, that's what we're doing. Yeah, we're right here. Take $100. Will it take Will I take $100? Can you please answer me? Talk to me when you get there. Talk to me. Will it take $100 for my Don't do that again. It hurts. [Applause] [ __ ] you. Please let me out. Thank you. Please unbuckle this. I need to get out. I need to get out. All right, we're going to get you out. Okay, stupid hood. I can't I can't breathe. I'm going to get You can breathe out my mouth. Get it out of my mouth. It's not in your mouth. Get this out of my mouth. There's a lot of demands for someone who's acting like a 2-year-old throwing a temper tantrum. You're not going to get anyone like that. [ __ ] you. Okay. I need to go home in the morning. No, right now. No. When you calm down, let me know and I'll get you booked in the process and I'll get you on the phone. But you have to show me that you're going to calm down and you're going to behave. I need to get pull. You will in the morning. How about no ability to deal with adversity? Ellie, calm down. Ellie, calm down. When you calm down, let me know. Okay. I'm here all night. Ellie eventually provided a breath sample that indicated a blood alcohol concentration of 0091.
