nope stay in there that's if you know what you're listening to you can hear my gun come out of the holster so when he opens up his door when he looks back I'm I'm up and on him expecting him to come out with a gun now he comes out with a toothbrush instead which obviously I recognize that isn't a weapon in that particular circumstance so I put my gun away and then we have the conversation about him brushing his teeth at a criminal amount of speed um but later on when he says hey thanks for not shooting me that's because I had my gun pointed at him and that's exactly what needed to happen in that circumstance because the way that he stopped his car kind of angled so that he could see me as soon as the door opened um that's that's a that's a bad situation if someone comes out of there with a gun so in order for someone to not get the drop on me I also have to have my gun out um and as soon as I realized that it wasn't going to be a gunfight my you know gun went in the holster and we went about our business um but don't throw your door open when you get stopped by any law enforcement officer anywhere in any jurisdiction um that that's just that's how you get guns pointed at you yeah put my gun back in my holster great spit it out 29 negative like a 2020 Toyota TR but when uh when a car stops and the door flies open that's why I point guns to people so probably don't do that in the future sorry I was trying to get my hands up quick as I could cuz I did think about that but yeah thought it'd be really awkward to try to have the window down and communicate so sometimes you just got a man up and swallow it all right the video switches to the GoPro well it switches to the GoPro because Sam had his handheld camera and was laughing so hard that it made the camera move up and down and the shot was terrible so he switched to the GoPro for a be more steady um I don't know where that came from it just as happens many times in traffic stops something just goes through my brain and it's like a slip and slide out my mouth without hitting any sort of filter well I'm Deputy slope I stopped you for a cool amount of speed you're in excess of 80 mph on 287 there while you're brushing your teeth after you passed that second car and then you sped up your top speed was in the 80s and the posted speed on the road is 55 I feel 2 m an hour while you're brushing your teeth probably isn't the right I I feel there's a better allocation of time um like I I get trying to save time and do two things at once but that was a first so you're receiving two citations one for your speed violation your second for having expired out of State registration all right thank you for not shooting me yeah that's we I I try not to shoot people that don't need shooting and uh I don't I don't have that feeling coming out of the car so I try not to uh try not to do that but it is a natural defense mechanism that when a door opens up my gun comes out of the holster speed limit on this road is 50 and you were going 70 I lock in at 69 and I feel like you had to wear your seat belt seat belts are important feel like we probably could have pulled off the road here want to be um well I mean it it I'm just saying like is all all this room over here that we could have pulled onto instead of blocking the whole Road okay yeah if you just kind of pull off the road as required just just pull off a little bit this way there plenty of room not backwards that would be into my car unbelievable that's good it you saw that stopping sequence of like stop in the road and then now kind of somewhat perpendicular um so she was stopped less than a month ago um by another penel County Sheriff's Office Deputy for a stop sign violation here in Arizona City and then she has her speed citation today for 19 over and you would think that being such a terrible driver you would need to wear your seat belt to keep you safe while you're committing all of these compounding moving violations so um so she's going to get cited for Speed and seat Bel today and uh we're going to talk about how to pull over correctly which is not what I'm looking at right now so you're 19 over and you have to wear your seat belt very important so especially when you're committing all these violations be right being buckled so um same court jurisdiction in panel Central panel a class okay you you're already going to a class for your last one going next next week next week okay so this is this is another ticket only one right yes only you can only go one so so in the state of Arizona you can only go to traffic school once a year so traffic school in Arizona if you get cited with a moving violation um you can go to traffic school it removes that moving violation from your driving record and it keeps it off your insurance there's no moving violations no points on your license so it's a really good option um if you commit two moving violations within a year like this driver did um the second one instead of having three options to take care of it you only have two options those two options are pay the fine and take the points on your license or appear in court to contest the citation um which means that you go to court and you you pretend that you're Shaggy and you say hey it wasn't me um and you see how that works this one you're just going to have to pay don't drive into that ditch okay okay you're free to go I'm going to make sure that you're safe you could try to don't hit anything over there in the woods okay okay you can you can go there we go hold on one sec no make sure you drive no D is for drive go go forward there we go yep just turn your wheel to the left there we go and you go you're free to go that's okay just how you doing Senor Frank that's me how you fighting me how cuz you drive around with no mud flaps yeah I just seen that online man you got to wear your seat belt man seat belts are important yeah they are almost as important as mud flaps I do appreciate you pulling off the road like a man Sam loves themes to Fridays with Frank so this theme was pulling over obviously the first guy pulls over throws his door open the second driver pulls over terrible at first blocking the roadway and then perpendicular to the road another terrible example and the last guy probably never would have made it on the Fridays with Frank Sam said it was unremarkable but what it was a demonstration of was how great to pull over like guy's in a pickup truck he pulls way off the road we're super safe while we're standing there um so I gave him warning for what I had stopped him for because his pullover was so good um so that was the the theme of this of this episode of Friday with Frank um and that guy never would have made it on there if he hadn't pulled over so well like thank you for recognizing that you drive a you drive a pickup truck and that you could drive off of the pavement and still be fine you'd be surprised how many people I run into and I'm like you know you're like I could I'll off-road my charger you can off-road your truck because you pulled over so good like like great like I could stand here I'm not worried about getting schmuck by a car what I'm going to do is I'm going to give you a warning for everything can I get a picture with you yeah man absolutely I'm going to put my foot up on your truck here I feel like that's what I feel like Captain Morgan here you never use your turn signal so I had no idea that you intended to turn oh I'm sorry and I almost rended you so sorry sorry about that I we I'm from Phoenix and we down here working for the road rail now I I I think it's a railroad but I understand what you mean got a railroad turn that down there a little bit it's been a bro we've been working since 3:00 this morning BR I get it man I started at 4: so I I get it but 4 5:00 in the morning is a really common time for me to start my day um I work a ton of hours for the Traffic Unit um I wear a lot of different hats for the Sheriff's Office besides doing Fridays with Frank stuff I do stuff at the vehicular crimes unit I do special details with enforcement um I do my normal enforcement stuff I I've got all sorts of different aspects of the agency that I'm involved in so it is super normal for my days to be 12 14 hours 16 hours sometimes um I think some of that comes from working with Dad uh if you watch the videos of of me fishing on Long Island you see how crazy my dad works well that's how I worked before I became a cop so um I kind of I learned n work ethic there and I've carried it on to being in uniform so I put in a lot of hours turn signals you still got to use them in Phoenix yes sir and am Mesa yes sir and here in Castle Grand yes sir all right man just want I just wanted to make sure hang tight that's my apology though that's okay hang tight for me you know that you were suspended no was there a possibility that you were suspended like I didn't no I didn't know I didn't know they didn't tell me that at the um they didn't tell me at that at the courts so and I don't know if the court I don't know if the court knows cuz it's it's an MBD thing MBD is who suspend your well all I know is okay I hit a pedestrian this was back in October this is back in October in a different car uh I I didn't see a big dent in this one N I actually so I stayed there while the police came and stuff and that's good that's good if not it's a felon it's a uh guy uh guy was in a wheelchair so make you hit a guy in a wheelchair yes man it was raining it was raining that day and my windows was fogged up and not paying attention not paying attention but I stayed there I've never talked to someone that's hit someone in the wheelchair I stayed there so do you have current insurance for your vehicle right now um nope no only because the simple fact I just got this truck out of impound like I impounded for cut me a break man come on Sam says that this video didn't perform well the rationale that Sam employs here is that videos that are positive that show positive interactions don't perform as well as videos when there's some sort of conflict um that's what apparently that's what the internet wants the internet wants conflict um this video is all about this positive interaction um this driver was super cool we had a great interaction super positive um dude thanked me for doing my job I thanked him for being cool like everything's good and per all of the videos before this for like the last eight or 10 videos before this this video performed the poorest and that's all we can figure out is that the internet just doesn't want positivity that's terrible like I'm trying to figure out which what I cut you a break on then not using your turn signal the driving while your license please don't give me for the no insurance all right suck on that cancer stick hang tight here for a minute okay thanks man so you a cool dude right you know you're a cool dude you got cool dude hat hey man you got cool dude attitude up one of them days what I was not going to do was I was not going to write you that left turn ticket and then your driver's license is suspended so I'm like I still didn't write you at left turn ticket okay I didn't write it you a cool dude I can give you a war War for that but your license is suspended okay and you got to have insurance man cuz if if you get into a wreck you could negatively affect someone else's life that's the only that's that's why it's such a big deal can we part as friends yeah hell yeah yeah I a this all this was just hey
