Did you ever look around and go, "Something here has to change. My children shouldn't live in this kind of filth right now." The state of that home that the children were in, it rises to the level of criminality. On the 21st of December, 2023, police entered their home after reports that six children were living in hazardous conditions. The place was so bad that officers didn't even give the parents a chance to talk their way out of it. It's what they witnessed was nothing left to explain. I can't come inside. So, you need to bring the kids to the dog. >> Guys, come here. >> I need you to get their coats. Get their dressed in their coats. >> Baby, put that dog up first so he doesn't run outside. Back here. >> Where does Michael work at? >> He works at >> Okay. Okay. And you're coming back home? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Uh, I'm going to be honest with you, sir. We appreciate your cooperation. >> The father, Michael, acted shocked by the warrant, as if the way they lived was just normal. >> Can I ask you a quick question real quick? >> Absolutely, sir. What's going on? Why why do we have a warrant for our arrest? >> Uh for six counts of endangering. >> Been going through the CSB case for about um since the beginning of January about the end of December, >> right? The children's lives were at stake, and no amount of crying was going to change that. What I'm going to do is your rights. All right. Cuz right now, you are under arrest before I can talk to you. >> Okay. Having these rights in mind, you're willing to talk to me about why you're under arrest tonight? You know why? >> So, it's six counted. I was actually uh the original officer that responded out here with children services when they were removed from the home. Do you remember me now? >> Yeah. >> Okay. [snorts] Um I mean, do you understand why the children were removed from the home in the first place? >> Yes. >> I mean, how did how did how did it get that bad? How did how did the mess, the animals, the I mean, I'm going to be honest with you. That's the worst house that that day. That was the worst house I ever walked into. It's a little cleaner now. So, you didn't have any help. >> Okay. >> He works too much. So, I didn't have any help. >> Did you Did you at any point like look around the house and go, "This is a problem. These living conditions are not okay." >> Yeah. We finally got the basement fixed. >> Yeah. Well, I'm talking I mean, the kid being removed, I know that was a wakeup call. Can we both agree that was kind of a wakeup call? But before that, did you ever look around and go, "Something here has to change. My children shouldn't live in this kind of filth right now." >> Yeah. Why? Why didn't you change it, dear? Be honest with me here. This is just Do you When the children were removed from the home, do you think that was the right choice? >> Yes. You don't think that the living conditions were suitable and you just I mean you I would you say you were kind of at a loss of what to do with everything? >> Yeah. >> You're saying Mike wasn't helping you out? >> No, he works too much. >> Works too much. >> I got you. >> He's still working, >> right? Is that Is that your mom or is that his mom? >> That's his mom. >> That's his mom. Does she help out at all with the kids or anything? She watches the kids every now and then, >> but she's up in her 60s. >> I gotcha. That's That's why you're being arrested. This the state of that home that the children were in. It rises to the level of criminality. I mean, the kids shouldn't have to suffer. All right. U there's going to be a uh prisoner wagon that's going to come. They're going to take you to county. They'll book you in. You'll be arraigned tomorrow. That's where they set bail and everything like that. supposed to see the kids tomorrow. >> In the end, Kimberly and Michael were charged with their little ones. Much like Kimberly and Michael, who exposed their family to danger inside their own home. Reginald and Reneia showed their own disregard by involving their son in a night that was never meant for him. >> What? >> It's not illegal. >> You pulled in here, you break out of nowhere, and then you pulled in here. You couldn't even park. I know who you are. >> I'm I >> Yes, you did. I want to make sure you're okay to operate a vehicle. And it wasn't pretty. >> Don't tear it. Uhoh. >> How was school today? >> We're good. >> You go to FHS? >> Yeah. I might have to ask my mom and she has like a spare work apron. >> Guess what? There were a ton of cops waiting for her. And in that moment, she knew that she was done for. But of course, as expected, [music] she was going to have a defense. As if she hadn't just left her special needs children alone in hazardous conditions. >> New Mexico. >> Good. How are you? >> Good. working. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I'm going have you keep your hands out of your pocket, sir. Thank you. >> I'm not being investigated. So, um, >> I I I I realized that I was not here, but I wasn't even >> 10 15 minutes before you called me. >> Where were you? >> Uh, I doing some side work for a friend trying to make this much money, >> but I only get paid every two weeks. >> Okay. >> Cuz you're still with >> It's just right. property that a very long time as far as living conditions >> meaning dogs passing away and dogs being disposed of what whatever I don't know okay this is just what I'm getting as far as okay Why don't you? >> Okay. >> I mean, I do have I do have four dogs. >> Okay. >> And I do have four puppies, but >> So, in the city, you can only have four dogs, right? You know that. >> So, I have to get rid of two dogs or can I just get rid of the puppies? That's all I'm waiting for. >> As soon as they're old enough, >> but that's still a couple weeks, >> right? No. And they're still babies. >> And that that's something I'd have to talk to about. to be honest with you. So today we had for a while. >> She could have taken the easy way out by cooperating, but instead she made things harder for herself, turning what could have been a simple arrest into a spiral of her own making. >> Nobody here even knows me. Nobody comes over. Nobody calls me. Nobody talks to me. No one says hi. But I leave my kids alone for more than 5 minutes and I've got the SWAT team up. all over the damn neighborhood. I am not seeing anybody in here. I just slept there trying to survive. >> Are you and do you have >> I would have anybody for anything? >> They offer all that. CID already talked to me about that multiple 200 times. And have you tried to seek any help? I don't know about the whole Medicaid transport and public appointments and they want me to do classes and all this other stuff. Have you have you accepted that or is there any type of >> I gave them my new number but it's out of service right now. Oh, the only way you could reach me is here at the house or maybe at work. And so, um, you said your phone's out of service. >> It's a food stamp phone. It's out of minutes. >> Okay. So, whose phone is your daughter? >> It's my phone. It like you can still call, but like I I don't have any data or anything like that. Sometimes she gets the call, sometimes she doesn't. Okay. She called you perfectly fine. >> She's probably using That's why my phone says it's over minutes because it only gets five gigs and they said I've got like >> Yeah, it's over my limit. >> So, I mean, you should be able to make phone calls, right? It's a lot of excuses that I'm getting. Okay. And not a lot of accounting at this point. >> Okay. Um, so game plan for today. >> I can never leave my house again. >> No. We're waiting for CYFD to show up, okay? We're going to do a visit inside, okay? And they're probably going to talk to you. They're probably going to talk to kiddos as far as that goes and do their investigation. Okay? For right now, I do need to do a walk through of the house because we can call and update them as far as what I've seen. Um, which direction? Please stand by with the >> Her excuses did not stop there. She even called her neighbors nosy, ignoring the fact that they were the ones concerned enough to call for help. >> And when you don't stay here, where do you stay? Do you stay with him at his house? >> I'm not gone all the time like everybody's seeing. >> Okay. >> People don't even know what's going on. They just see cops or they don't see me here. They're just nosy. They have no idea what's going on with me right now. And this is all just a bunch of added drama. It's completely unnecessary. I didn't do anything to anybody. I have no parents, no family. I have nobody around here. It's just me. And if people are doing this to just to start trouble, then I don't know. So few IPs on the way. They should be here from the office cry 20 minutes give or take. So we'll just wait for them and then we'll all just do the home visit so we can >> Okay. Yeah. >> Have a good night. Have a good night. >> All right. Let's get your information real quick. your first name. >> Okay. And the oldest is Chris. >> Okay. Is that short for Christopher or >> it looks like actually >> same last name. James. >> And then I know Kayyn. How do you spell her name though? >> K A Y L Y N. remember that cuz that's my name too. It's chilly out. So, like I said, C wanted to do their visit as well. Okay. So, we do have a whole group questions to talk to about too. Um, so as far as we said, where where does everyone sleep? Most most Well mostly have their rooms, but mostly we sleep in here cuz we don't have the internet at the moment. So, we watch movies. >> Yeah. But the only the only >> You can't escape. Walk out the refrigerator. >> Whoever wants to come talk to me first. >> No one's in trouble. You better >> guess. Is there anything there? Oops. You usually sleep in here and hang out. >> Yeah, I usually sleep here. >> Okay. >> Do you watch TV in here sometimes? 41. >> Yep. But all the numbers they had were no longer useful. >> Oh, for the mom? >> For anybody. >> Okay. When was her last case? Did she tell you? >> She didn't tell me the last case. From there, the officers shifted their focus to the children in the home who clearly needed support. Something their own parents were not providing. >> Hey, watch the dog. Watch the dog. Come here, puppy. Come here. >> It's a tennis ball. >> Yeah, but the best swing. >> Oh, close. >> Here. I got it. I'll throw it back to him. Okay. >> By this point, it was clear that the children could not stay in such an unstable environment. The more the officers uncovered in this situation, the worse it became. >> This little guy is having the time of his life at 11:00 at night. Is it okay if I step in step? >> Yep. Go for it. So, while we're in here, we might as well go ahead and do this. Um, I need you to get a little bag for them because they're going to have to go to a friends or a family's members tonight. Okay. >> All the kids. >> Both of the kids. Yes. Right. There's no other kids, right? Just the two. Yeah. All right. So due to the nature of the allegations and both y'all I mean both your stories are basically the same but at the same time both of you uh say the other one's primary aggressor and when we have issues we have a duty to act we can't just let it go. Okay. So if you will turn around for me. >> You got anything on your persons that need to be made aware of? Don't waste your change pockets. I'm just asking, do you have anything you need made aware of? >> Put your hands back here for me. Like you're praying. Put them together like you're praying. There you go. >> I got to take a piss. >> I'll come. Let's check. >> All right. Temper. Temper. >> I won't forget you. >> Temper. >> As officers continued their investigation inside the home, they revealed even more evidence that would bring serious charges. Don't get too close to the walls. >> What is that? >> Huh? >> What? >> On the roof. >> Oh, I didn't see that. >> I think it was Look, look at the bottom of the bag. Take a picture of that. >> Mhm. I >> hate leaving a baby in here by herself. >> Yeah. And she's wearing fleece with the damn footies cut out of it. So, listen. Due to everything that occurred and the fact that you both were highly intoxicated with the children being unsupervised inside the house upon our arrival, um, you're going to jail tonight. Okay. You're going to go to jail for the battery and you're going to go to jail for the Um, not supervising your children and being inebriated where you can't even walk is not okay when you have two small children in your house. Okay. Um, if you decide to drink like that your own property, you need to have somebody >> responsible >> responsible that can care for the wellbeing of those children. Um, the fact that you have her strapped in that chair, not okay. >> It's the only thing I can get to sleeping is being sucked. Your husband said that you have another pack and play. Children need to be trained in every aspect of their life from the day that they're born until the day that they're grown and then even after that. So things are complicated and yes, children may not like their initial, you know, wherever in this instant sleeping. But you as a mother have to say, hey, this is what is safe for my child and this is what has to be done. dropping her in a chair and leaving her in a chair unsupervised in her room in the middle of the night. Not okay. Okay. I've seen kids like that because they'll sit up and they'll put their head like this and it cuts their airway off. >> Okay. >> So, just not okay. All right. Go ahead and put your hands behind your back. >> So, who's going to watch them for the night? >> So, that DCF investigator is going to go ahead and take them and then there is somebody else that is supposed to be um retrieving them. What was Do you remember the name or >> Okay, >> I'll get you the name though. That way you know where they're Hold on. Where they're going? Okay. >> Is he getting the rest of those or >> Yep. >> Yep. Nope. I got you. >> Okay. >> Who's coming to get the kids? >> Oh, Jared Darnell. >> Jared Darnell. >> Mhm. He's clean. He's got a valadel. >> Is that brother, sister, cousin? >> Friend, godfather of the kids. >> Okay. Jared Darnell. >> Mhm. >> Jared Darnell. Do you know who that is? >> Okay. That's who's gonna come and grab him. Okay. >> That's their godfather. >> Hey, Heather, this is a a question not pertaining to your arrest. Okay. Do you have >> on you? No. >> Are you sure? >> Okay. I feel like I can smell it. >> Okay. Is that what was in the roof in the kids' room? I didn't really understand. >> Okay. Heather, have you been to jail before? >> No. >> No. Has um your other half? >> No. >> He's never been to jail either? >> In the end, the mother was charged with and battery. Moving on to the case of Rabia Mubali, a mother who nearly cost her daughter her life while the father remained clueless to the nightmare unfolding at home. >> The phone number that came up on the 911. >> God damn. [ __ ] her. >> Oh, she's breathing. >> She's still breathing. >> Let's go. Let's go. >> Are you guys taking >> uh Yeah, we are. Okay. On the 8th of January, 2024, officers of the Fairborn Police Department drove down to a residence after receiving a report about a 26-year-old mother who had abandoned her little one in very critical condition. Upon arriving at the scene, the cops met with the father of the child, who was deeply disturbed as he tried to make sense of the awful actions of his kid's mother. >> So, how did you come to find yourself over here? >> She called me and was freaking out, telling me that my daughter was malnourished and that she was sorry and she had to go. >> Where would she go? >> I have no idea. I know her mom lives in Yellow Springs um in the uh the um apartments over there by the horse track. Is my daughter okay? >> Well, she's in route to Children's Hospital right now. Do you have an ID on you, partner? >> I do. >> What is your daughter's name? >> Check her out. >> Where would she be going? >> I have no idea. She has no family around here. >> So, like I said, her mom lives in Yellow Springs and uh I don't know where her sister lives anymore. I know that she's been talking to a lot of people online. >> Can I get a picture of this [music] eventually? Okay, I'll just give it back to you for now. So, >> you got a number? I can send it to you. Use the >> Okay. Yeah. I use my work phone. Yeah, >> she's been talking to a lot of guys online. >> The young man went on to provide details about the mother's nonchalant behavior toward their [music] children. And when he mentioned that a similar occurrence had been dealt with in the past, the officers knew that they needed to act swiftly in saving the child that was in her care. >> When's the last time you saw your daughter? >> It's been a while. She um had kept telling me that she didn't want me around her because she had had issues with being around when she was a child and that because of that she was uncomfortable with us being in the same room gave me reasons to why she was asleep every time I came over and I haven't seen her at least two 3 weeks. >> Okay. And when you saw her >> and when you saw her two or three weeks ago her she was in good health or >> she was >> okay. And and so does she have problems or what's going on? >> Um she smokes pot, but I don't think that's the cause of it. Uh about I want to say 6 months ago, we split up because her father and she went completely off rails after that. She stopped cleaning. She stopped taking care of everything like any arguments. Um, she had asked me to quit my job two years prior and uh, I listened because she was making like $1,000 a week and uh, so I told her, you know, because I knew she was struggling getting clothes, I will go get a job. I will take care of everything. And she said, "No, I want you to stay here." And it kept turning into fights until I caught her cheating or on me with some people online. And uh, she's just been in this in this spiral. She hasn't cleaned up the room. The last time I Uh, but she doesn't clean her own room. I think the only reason she cleaned that room is because I told her that I I would seriously hurt her if I found my daughter in any kind of condition because we lost our first daughter because she had issues and uh that was the reason we were allowed to keep this one. And uh >> You lost your first daughter? You like she they had to put her up for adoption or >> Yeah. Yeah. CPS took her because we were I had taken her to my uncle's and an old friend of mine that I looked at like a brother had his on him and he was uh ex-military. So I had assumed, you know, everything was fine. I didn't know he had it on him at the time. He pulled it out to clean it. I wasn't paying attention and himself knee. Um okay. I guess it was a bullet wedged in where he was trying to dislodge and the handle caught forward and snapped a bullet in his knee and because of that along with uh they said that she had marks on her back which I had assumed was some flowing in her stroller that uh they needed to take custody. >> Okay. Would you humor me? I know she said that her her uh phone's going on airplane mode, but can you text her back and say, "Hey, I'm talking to the police. like you need to come back here or something to that effect. Thank you. >> As they went into the apartment to conduct a search, the cops came face to face with a horrifying scene that revealed a case of extreme negligence and maltreatment of a toddler. >> Fairborn Police Department. Fairborn Police. >> Which one is it? Left older lady. Uh they always come out here and check. Nobody's answering. >> All right, let's kill it. >> Fairborn Police. >> Fairborn Police Department. >> 305. Good. When called the number back, a older male answer phone. He has no idea who Ariel and no one used his phone. However, >> the phone number that came up on the 911 godamn [ __ ] police >> 305. She was on Wallace. >> I'm good. when she called into the >> Holy. She's breathing. She's still breathing. >> Let's go. Let's go. >> She's still breathing. >> Light. >> Right here. Yeah, she's still breathing. I'll get out of your way. Sorry. It didn't look like it. >> I'd say just pick up and let's go. >> Yeah. >> What are these here? >> 295. >> Oh my god. >> You haven't even got that far. >> Uh, let's get pictures started [music] and call. God damn. Airborne, please. If you're here, make yourself go. Hey, can you and one of your guys respond down here? We found this kid barely alive. Medics are rushing uh the kid to the hospital. Um Yep. Yep. We're finishing up trying to clear this place, but you're definitely going to want to be down here. All right. Thanks, B. Yeah, I think Zach ripped that one off the end, so here you go. Go ahead. Jeez. More, please. 295. Can you see what history we have at this address, please? Jesus Christ. Poor kid. Following the rescue of the little girl, the cops finally located the mother of the child who was immediately arraigned for the case. >> Well, right now we're trying to figure out a whole bunch of things, right? A whole bunch of details. Um, >> you need to fix it. My back is killed. >> Um, >> what' you What do you want? >> To sit down. >> Yeah, we're going to have you can have a seat in the back of my car. Um, >> are you guys taking me? >> What's that? >> Are you guys taking me? >> Uh, yeah, we are. Okay. >> Okay. So, let's >> stuff to him. >> I'll I'll take care of that. Let's uh let's walk in the front of my car. All right. Okay. Just right here was good. Um if you want to face my car, you don't have Just put your hands out to your sides. >> Nothing Nothing on your uh on your pockets at all. No pockets. You have um just underwear underneath your sweats. >> Not underwear. Just >> Just your sweats. Okay. Perfect. 322. >> All right, go ahead and put your palms together behind your back. >> 322. >> Tell me how tell me how to say your name. >> Robia. Okay, Robia. My name is Ryan. I'm a detective. Uh, and I am the detective that's going to be handling this case. >> I'm sorry. >> Can you call me? >> I can't. I I can't. Um, it's going to be a little bit. So, right now, um, you're going to be taken to the Fairborn Police Department. Uh, there's some some administrative things that we have to do there. uh take a picture and some some fingerprints, but I'm going to be down to talk to you uh soon. Okay. >> All right. So, we'll work through it. >> So, I I can't I can't give you an answer like that only because I don't know. Um but Okay. All right. Very good. Again, I will be down to talk to you uh in just a little while. All right. >> Okay. >> These aren't too tight, are they? Okay, let's go around to the passenger side here. Have a seat. What's this fell's name back here? >> Travis, can you please tell him that that stuff right there needs to go to my kid's dad? >> Okay. >> The one that was over here earlier. >> Just Just hang out right there, man. I'll be right with you. >> Yeah. Yep. >> Just give me a second. >> All right. Do you want to >> Is there any way you could cuff me in the front? I have spinal problems and this really hurts. >> Yeah. Yeah, I can do that. Just uh can you turn can you turn? >> Uh let's see here. Yeah. Hang on a second. There we go. All right. Just uh just like that. All right. We'll try to uh >> Yeah, >> the woman was charged with felony endangering her dependents and abusing them. She was later [music] sentenced to 9 years in prison. Rabia's case was disturbing enough, but these parents took to another level. enjoying luxury while their kids were abandoned in their own waste. >> She's been eating feces and breathing it in. She wiped her poop everywhere and she spit. She don't she don't know. She could not in that room. She was laying in maggots, flies, roaches, and feces. That's what she was sleeping in. >> On September the 28th, 2023, police officers were dispatched to a quiet residential neighborhood after receiving a disturbing report of parents, the little individuals that they were obliged to care for. And upon arrival, they were met with a horrifying scene that left them stunned by the level of that had been going on in the family. >> Mr. Parson, is you on the cut? Okay, there you are. So, we got EMA out here. They're going to check on the kids. Um, we're also going to get some information, see if we can get APS. >> As another form of assistance. Um, I don't know if EMA wants to come out or wants us to walk them out, but so EMA is going to evaluate them. We'll get all your information for APS and then Well, I guess your wife, where's she at? >> She's right there. >> Better clean. >> Okay. >> Hey, um EMA is here to evaluate them. And then if y'all want to come out here, too. We have two other officers that are going to talk and try to get APS. So, we need everybody's information for APS cuz they give resources for adult protective services such as like your husband's help. >> Come here, Brandy. >> I mean, we're making a huge impact on this. Yeah, we are. >> But her feet are have been like that. And that's something the doctor's actually been looking at. >> She um wants her to have therapy and I have that good to get that set up. >> Hey, you need to be checked out. >> That whole shelf right there is her medicine. medicine. >> Yeah, I seen she had a seizure the fifth. A >> spit. Sorry. >> That's bleach. Bleach are feces. I smell. >> No, there's poop on the store. >> Oh, no. I know. I smell that. But there's another smell. >> I got to figure it out. You see what I mean? Naggets and stuff >> clean. And they let her. >> It's just two >> like this. >> Which one? Which girl stays in there? >> Who? >> Which one? It was her. >> The only girl. The 10-year-old. Yeah, she was in here. >> You got a picture of her in there? >> No. When I walked in, they were um >> see you got no body camera. >> No, cuz it was on the charger. And I as soon as I came in this morning, I was called a call. Call. Um, now defax. I think Miss Jones took a picture of her. She was standing on the pile naked and I think Miss Jones snapped a picture real quick. What's that smell other than the poop? Did you spray something or anything? I know it fall off >> for you. >> Cardiac and you have diabetes. >> Me and her always. >> Yeah. I had to look up the address to make sure we were going to the right place and I seen the um the call. I seen that she had just had a seizure. Well, I seen she was unresponsive. >> It was pretty scary. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. We had a 18-year-old that just moved out. >> Mhm. >> Oh, that was the eldest. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I thought so. I was there. >> There used to be four of them. >> We have security. >> So, >> the eldest is the one that trash. >> Where's the the two boys sleep at? >> It's even wear diapers, buddy. Nope. Nope. Big boy. All right. >> No, she's the only one. >> The only one in diapers. >> Despite the heartbreaking sight of their children living in filth, the parents had the audacity to excuse them by blaming it on the kids autism, leaving officers stunned and forcing everyone to question what kind of parents would be this heartless. >> Hey, baby. Hey, wake up. Hey, boo. >> They got to check you out. Okay. You're a hard sleeper. They got to check you out. >> He shakes. >> I don't know why. >> I think he might be autistic, too. >> Yeah. They do that. He was like that earlier. He just shakes. See? >> Does he feel cold on his skin? >> He shakes like that with his autism. Okay. You say he's soaking wet? >> Yeah. He pees. He pees in his in the bed. Like when he's sleeping, he'll pee. >> Yeah. cuz he wasn't wet when I brought him back here. So >> So it's okay, baby. >> He He don't wear no diaper or nothing. >> He does, but he he didn't put one on him. I didn't put one on him this morning because he >> you know, we had just gotten up and he had just gotten up, but then he went back to sleep. >> Suspicious person. >> Well, I mean, you got to know this ain't help before. >> Yeah, I know. >> And his doctor Yeah. I'm trying to get that room cleaned up and is why I've got all those bags and stuff in there. I'm getting it done. That's why you keeping her at >> I have been. Yes. >> That ain't that smart. >> No, it's not. And I'm trying to get it clear. >> You know, you got >> about her cuz she's been eating feces and breathing it in. >> Don't take it personal. She don't >> know. She >> um we changed that around because um when Chloe was or when her sister was in here, she didn't want Chloe to come in there when Chloe was um not out of her room. Yeah, we did that. Yeah. Um we weren't trying to, you know, keep her locked in there. We just, you know, and we don't even lock that door now. She's just not in there now. >> That trash was wall. There was no space to walk in when I came the first time. I know >> she was in that tent naked girl. Girl, they had her in the tent. >> The police actually hit him. >> Come here, baby. Come this way. >> No, you're fine. You're okay. All this was trash. And she was when I walked in, she was pulling her out of the tent naked to put her clothes on. >> Yeah. I said, "She don't know." She She wiped her poop everywhere and she spit. She don't She don't know. >> Bless her heart. But I do have a small >> I don't have a TV in case. >> But that's why I'm worried about her. >> Walk that way, buddy. >> Maybe getting ready cuz she's been eating it and breathing this in. >> Last time she >> in a pile of dog, >> so I took her to the hospital with D. >> That old lady's room is immaculate. How do you as an adult let other children live like that? You at least try. >> She's being able body. >> Yeah, her room is clean. That's what pissed me. The room with the little boy sleep. Her room is nice. The father even tried to hide behind his handicap as an excuse for ignoring his children's basic needs. But one look at him told a different story. He wasn't incapable, just completely unwilling. And that spoke volumes about the kind of father he really was. >> Just don't walk in. >> Oh, >> I'm going to >> Sorry. You know, we're not trying to hide nothing. >> Yeah. No, no, no. >> You're fine. >> I'm handicapped. I can't make it to the foot. We use both hands on it. >> Yeah, I understand. >> My anatomy is not the same as my mom. >> I'm going to go ahead and tell you what's going on. The two able-bodied people are going to go to jail. The only reason you are not is a little sympathy. I feel that maybe you didn't realize how bad your daughter had gotten. Um I'm going to get APS out here to help you. I'm going to get APS out here to help her. But um let me tell you, 10 years, this is the worst I've ever seen. Okay, y'all need help, but somebody has to be responsible. Okay, >> it'll be cruelty to children. Um, and they'll have some blue trucks. >> They'll have a hearing. No. Yeah. >> So, >> listen, you're not. This is how it works. Okay. Def is going to get them until you get this clean. Is there somebody that you can call? >> Got a brother-in-law and her brother-in-law. >> Okay. and Jo my my brother-in-law and Jolie. >> They can take the kids even. They got they got a nice >> Okay. >> Decent place. It's not the biggest. It's it's a single wife. >> Okay. >> But their kids are pretty much they they live with >> Who can handle her? >> Her sister can. Her sister is a trained >> See, I'm I'm not trying >> Her sister's a trained caretaker. >> Okay. I'm I'm not trying to be mean, but I'm a mom and somebody somebody has to step in. When I say you can't walk to that room, she could not in that room. She was laying in maggots, flies, roaches, and feces. That's what she was sleeping in. You understand? >> They just they keep me in the dark because I can't go. I can't get up and move. >> The way that yard the way >> I basically just come from the bed >> to here into the shower. >> I can't I haven't been in that kitchen in a long time. I've never been back there at all. not pass that >> threshold. I've always expected my mother-in-law and my daughter >> and that's why I'm holding them accountable because your mother-in-law is right across the hall from her sleeping in feces. And I'm not talking about a little bit of feces that she smeared. This has been this is a whole long stretch of feces, maggots, roaches that she's laying in. Okay? I don't know how much longer she would have died. She's breathing all that in every day. So when def gets out here, if they're cool with a family member, I'll get numbers from you. And if a family member is going to take them, great. That's even better for them. Um, we're not trying to be difficult. And then, um, we'll get APS out here to help you. They'll start sending hopefully nursing care, CNA, something like that out here. >> What about my wife? I mean, >> I'll get your number so she can call you and everything else. Um, >> I depend on her to take care of me. >> That's I'm calling APS today, but something's got to give. I mean, I >> that's I'm getting APS out here, but maybe she needs some help. But at the same time, you can't lock your child in that room with all that when I went in there. That's where she was laying naked. That's feces, maggots, roaches. That's where your daughter was sleeping. >> Despite claiming he had no idea what condition his children were living in, the father showed no concern when confronted with photos of the filth that they slept in. Instead, he only worried about who would take care of him once his wife got arrested. >> I told her I told her. I mean, I spent almost $3,000 the last place we looked at. >> Mhm. >> For something similar and she promised me that it would never happen again. >> Well, that's why I said I'm not not trying to be difficult, but I'm a mandated reporter and I'm a mom and I got to get them somewhere safe and clean and healthy. Um cuz the last thing I want to do is leave and she that room. >> Yeah, but it's got to be clean and you take it or You say your brother can clean it? >> No, I got brother-in-law and sister and they're going to lose it. >> As long as they get it clean, that's that's going to be defects is only concern. >> How long is I mean, how long could she be in jail for? >> Um, today is Wednesday, but they have a hear she have a hearing Friday. She should have a blind hearing Friday. They have it Wednesday. Monday, Wednesday. >> Nobody leaves her from jail until she >> she has a blind a blind hearing. Mhm. >> But they can put her in jail right after the hearing. >> No. Somebody pays her bond. >> You move off the SSI. SSDI. That's all we survive. That's it. I'm begging. Please don't take her. Just don't take them. Give them a warning. They're They're willing to They're going to clean it, >> man. There's no way I can give a warning for that. >> I got nobody else. I promise you, I got nobody to take care. >> I'm calling APS out here to get you some help and start that up. And And she may need help taking care of all of y'all, but >> she does. But she don't she doesn't deserve to go to jail with this [ __ ] She's been trying and advocating and asking for help from family members. We've been screaming and asking for help from everybody. And the one person that was helping us, she took off. >> My daughter, she took off to go in with her sister. >> Mhm. >> But she had every right to. >> You're Yeah. Cuz she's not responsible for y'all. Y'all are the parent. She can't raise y'all. >> Yeah. >> And that's why I'm getting APS involved. And then they'll send somebody out here to help you and help her back here. That's still a help. She's 10. >> She can't fend for herself. >> She's looking for y'all to take care of her. Just like you look for your wife to take care of you, somebody has to take care of her. And nobody is. And that's just being honest. She's left in that room to eat and sleep in it and be covered in roaches. So believe me, I'm pissed. They're mad. I just I don't know what I love her too. I love her. I love this is devastating. >> Yeah, I understand. Well, this is the route we're going to take cuz somebody has to be accountable. There's two able-bodied women in this room. And before I don't mean no before I take care of my husband, I'm going take care of my child. So, they're going to be held accountable. We're going to get APS out here to help you. DeFax will be out here. And if they're cool with you calling your family so that the kids are somewhere familiar, I'm cool with that, too. >> See if I can get one. Okay. >> Uncle. >> Okay. >> Just drive up here and stay with me. >> Okay. >> My uncle James. >> Okay. You can start. That's your phone. >> That's not mine. Can she at least come in here and give me my stuff and where you take her? >> Yeah. Where's your phone? >> It's all in in there. It's in the bedroom somewhere. >> Okay. >> I got a I got a a meter for my diabetes. >> Oh, okay. >> That's back there. >> Okay. >> I mean, at least can I say bye to her, please? >> Yeah. Is this the only firearm that you have? >> It's the only firearm. Yeah, that's the only firearm. >> [music]
