You're being aggressive towards me. >> No, no, no. You're not listening to me. >> Okay, why did they call you? >> Because you owe them $144 and you don't want to pay. I'm reasonable. You're unreasonable. >> On July 11th, 2024 >> it. All right, everyone. I'm Frank Slope. I'm a 24-year veteran of a sheriff's office here in Arizona. Today, we're going to do some body cam breakdown. So, NY Detective is a great channel if you don't follow them. They're great and they have all of the best airport videos that we find. They seem to all come from NY Detective. They're definitely doing it right. That's where we found this video. Body cam bingo is going to be the game of the day. We got card five. So, it's a good card. We bingoed on it before. We're going to see how it performs today. So, let's see what NY Detective has for us. >> Airport police responded to a disturbance at the parking toll booth after a woman refused to pay her parking fee. >> This lady over here >> How much does she owe you? >> $144. >> Okay. Sounds easy. How you doing, ma'am? Well, I can't see in the car without the light. Can you roll down the window? I can't see inside the car without the light. Ma'am, keep the car in park. Keep the car in park. Keep the car in park. Put the car in park. Put it in park. It's in neutral. You're going to run my foot over. Give me your license. License. License. Robin? No, that's all right. Give me your license. Because you are not listening. >> I am listening. What I'm saying, sir, is the light is bright. >> Okay, it's not in your eyes. >> It's bothering my eyes. >> It's not in your eyes. >> It's nowhere near your eyes. >> It's not in your eyes. It's not in your eyes. >> So, officer, you came here >> Yes, ma'am. You owe them $144. You're the one who started this way. I didn't start it this way. You started that way. >> Sir, you're being aggressive towards me. >> So, this woman is yelling at this officer about him being so aggressive through a slot in a window this big. That tells me all I need to know. It's just like if you're if you're unwilling to put your window down to have a normal conversation with someone, you're the problem. 10 out of 10 times without exception you're the problem. If you just adamantly refuse to put your window down, you are starting that interaction off on the side of being a jerk. And that's all there is to it. And I said what I said. >> No, no, no. You're not listening to me. That's the problem. All right, and I told you I can't see inside the car without the light. All right, ma'am. Ma'am, I'm not going to sit here all day and argue with you. You owe them $144. Yes, that you owe them $144. I'm going to take the side of you owe them $144 and you need to pay them. That's the side I'm taking. >> I love it. That's a good side. >> Yep, very simple. Ma'am, if you use a service, a garage, you owe them money for your service. Because you owe them $144 and you don't want to pay. I'm reasonable. You're unreasonable. You're being unreasonable. Ma'am, having a flashlight on is not a big deal. I have a flashlight on it. >> One time, what happened? You would put one person inside >> Go grab a box of cereal right now and read the ingredients. There's refined sugars, red 40, seed oils, and a bunch of words you can't pronounce. Immediately you gave me attitude. I know, I turned a flashlight on to see inside the car. All right, I'm not going to argue all day. I'm not going to argue all day. $144, right? Ma'am, talk to them and give them the money that you owe them. Ma'am, I suggest you hurry up and figure out how you're going to pay them. Because if not, you're going to go to jail for theft >> Yep. She's got She's got to figure out how to pay them, or she's going to go to jail. It's very simple. >> I like it. >> Talk to them. Don't talk to me. I don't care. Talk to them. Pay Pay the bill you owe. As she owes you $144. >> You owe $144. >> Give me 15 minutes and I'll call someone. asked if you don't pay, they asked what we were willing to do. We don't have 15 minutes. >> 15 minutes. >> You've been here for 30 minutes. Again, that number Did you listen TO WHAT I SAID? THAT NUMBER CALLS MY OFFICE. And I'm NOT THERE TO ANSWER. I DON'T HAVE IT. >> Terrible human won't put her window down. >> You need to move your vehicle out of the lane for you to do this. Once you move your vehicle Once you move your vehicle out of the lane, yes. >> Just watch out. Where do you want her to park? >> Over by the stairs. >> Uh, I love airport drama. Ma'am, wait. Wait. Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am, stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. >> There we go. >> Ma'am. We're going to have you park over there on the left-hand side. Do you hear me? Are you listening? >> What is wrong with you? >> Ma'am, I need you to move your car. We're going to move you over to the left-hand side so you're out of the line of traffic. >> I've said it before, and I'm going to say it again. Airports bring out the worst in people. I don't know if it's the stress of traveling, or if, you know, you're you're out of your habits, and you're just you you haven't drank enough water. I don't know what it is, but it's terrible. And this is a great example of just someone being a terrible human. On the opposite side of terrible is NY Detective. So, they continuously, constantly, repeatedly put out great videos. So, if you're from the NY Detective team, you're watching this, reach out to me, frank@prankatfrank.com, and uh let me send you some Prank at Frank merch so that you could rep us as much as we rep you, cuz we love you guys. Keep doing great work. >> It's like dealing with a child. >> Wait, what? You were just getting her something? >> This is the number for corporate. That's what she wanted. >> It doesn't matter. >> Your options still remain the same. That's the number for corporate. Yeah, I'm driving. From here? You want to file a complaint about what happened? They have a spider in the airport for the heavy. I don't I don't have that information, ma'am. You asked for the phone number, that's what I got for you. I know it's in Texas, but I don't have the address, ma'am. >> Are Are you making an attempt to pay? Are you making an attempt to pay? >> Corporate have a spider there. I'm trying to kill the spider. >> Put your window up. The spider's dead. Ma'am, are you making an attempt to pay? >> Yes. >> How How is that going? >> It's going great. >> Ma'am. >> It's going great. >> What happened? >> I said turn off the hazard lights. >> No, I said Are you making an attempt to pay? >> And I said, "Yes." You asked how was it going. I said I made I turned off the hazard lights that were on before. I am making an attempt to pay. >> How long is that going to take? >> I don't know how long it's going to take. >> Well, ma'am, I can't stay here all night. >> need you to stay here. I'm a >> Well, ma'am, you're No, you're not. No, you're not. You're not because you're not listening. You owe them money. They need their money. >> I didn't say I wasn't >> If you don't pay them, you go to jail. It's very simple. >> Very simple. >> I'm making it as simple as I can. We've been here You've been here for 40 minutes now. 40 minutes. >> Stop threatening me. >> I'm not threatening you. I'm telling you what's going to happen if you don't pay them. >> what I didn't say I wasn't going to pay them. >> Okay, so figure out how you're going to pay them. You need to hurry up. You're running out You're running out of time. You're running out of time. You're running out of time. You're running out of time. Yes, ma'am. Make an attempt to pay. Ma'am, you're This whole conversation's been recorded. This whole conversation's been recorded on body camera, all right? And it shows how belligerent you are, how you're not listening, how you're being combative. >> All right? >> too. >> Okay. You were cuz you weren't listening. Ma'am, let's come here. Tell her how you're going to Pay. Tell her how you're going to pay her. You've got 5 minutes and then you're going to jail. I'm going to time it. Uh-huh. You You make an attempt to pay or you're going to go to jail. Make an attempt to pay or you're going to go to jail. Ma'am, stop arguing with this Make an attempt to pay or you're going to go to jail. You haven't. You're unreasonable. >> Sir, what are you doing? >> Open the door. Open the door. Open the door. Open the door. Open the door. Open the door. Ma'am, open the door. You're not. YOU WERE DRIVING AWAY. GET OUT OF THE CAR. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> DONE. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> Here we go. >> I'm going to find my wallet. >> You're under arrest. You're under arrest. >> Just Just you're under arrest, okay? >> I'm under arrest. >> Very simple. >> That needed to happen. Nice job. So, she doesn't want to pay $144, right? She's She's going back and forth, and she's trying to find the money, and someone's going to cash app her the money. Well, now she's arrested. Now, her car is being towed. So, now, not only does she have the parking fees, but now she's going to have tow fees and all of the administrative costs, and she's going to have to go to court after she gets out of jail. So, she's going to miss work for being in jail. She's going to miss work for having to go to court. And think about all of that money added up, or she could just balance a budget and have $144 set aside so she could pay to get her car out of a parking lot. But instead, she is exponentially more in debt now, and all because of poor decisions that she made. >> Look at the phone. I'm making a call. >> You're not making a tap. You're driving away. >> No, I told you. >> You are driving away. >> No, I was not. >> This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in my entire life. Acting like a child. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever encountered. Totally ridiculous. >> Stephanie, can you get my purse, please? I was going to pay the pay the car >> No, you're going to jail now. You're going to jail. You're going to jail. >> I'm asking for your mercy. Look. Look. Look. Officer Baskett, can you give me a break? I'm paying the ticket. >> Can you give me a break? Absolutely not. >> I just came back in the country. I'm not trying to give you a hard time. >> You've been giving us a hard time. >> This lady tells this officer that she just got back from, you know, just got back to the country. So, she flew internationally. You don't get international flights for $1.99. They are expensive. Everything's expensive about flying internationally. You know you're going to be gone for a while. It's $144. If you can't afford $144 when you come back into the United States, you probably shouldn't have left in the first place. You should probably be at work. I mean, I'm at work today, right? I'm here. I'm at work. I worked yesterday. I'm going to work tomorrow. And I haven't flown internationally. But if I did, I'd make sure I had $144 in my bank account so that I could pay to get my car out of the parking lot where I parked it before I flew internationally for God knows how much money. >> Officer that's what I told you. I took off my headset last flight because I was going to take care of everything. >> Um >> Someone just cursed at me. >> Do you want to do the thing? I can do the CRA or transport whatever you want to do. >> What do you want to do? >> How do you not have money as an adult? >> It's too late for a break. >> Officer Vasquez, have mercy. >> It's too late. >> I don't I just came back in the country. Look, officer, look. Look at me. Look, Officer Vasquez. >> I'm looking at you. >> Officer Vasquez, listen. >> We'll put her in the car. We'll put her in the car. We'll just search her. >> Officer Vasquez, I need >> Come on. It's too late. >> No. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Can I at least call somebody cuz I don't have any family >> Nope. It's too late for that. We tried that for 40 minutes. >> look at me. Remember what I told you Okay, Officer Vasquez >> Come on now. It's too late. I'm done. I'm done. >> Officer Vasquez, I just got back in the country. I don't have any >> Well, you had money to travel. You should probably have money for parking. >> Officer Vasquez, I feel you didn't have compassion. You started off with the >> Come we're going to um >> He's pulling me and he's pulling me. Y'all pulling me two different directions. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Officer Vasquez, can I talk to you, please? >> It's too late for talking. >> No, I really need you to talk. >> She's going to search you. Do you have anything sharp? >> No. >> Does that prick, poke, stab? >> No, but this is a little tight for me. >> All right. We'll we'll adjust it. Just go to the >> Officer Vasquez >> Yes, ma'am. >> I'll go complaints about handcuffs. I'll take that. >> please listen? I just flew back in the country. Listen to me. I need Listen, I need your help. Look at me. I'm >> Ma'am, you're going to jail. >> Can you But remember I you I was going to pay. >> You know, you drove away. >> No, I wasn't driving away. >> She's going to search you now. Turn around. Turn around. Face this way. >> This is unnecessary. I have a $100 >> It is unnecessary. I agree it's unnecessary. >> No, but you're trying to make it >> I agree this is unnecessary. I 100% agree this is unnecessary. >> Put the handcuffs in front of me or something different, >> Unfortunately, we cannot. >> Can you fix my hair, please? >> I will do that in a sec. I got to search you, so it's going to get messed up. >> have anything on me. I don't know what I can do that. I work in the morning. Why? Why? >> seen >> I'm asking for your mercy. This is This is why when he said I had 5 minutes >> Come here. Sit down. Sit down. >> Can you take the handcuffs from the back and put it in >> have to be rear cuffed. That's policy. >> Okay. Okay. But, can you please get Officer Vasquez? I feel like from the time you approached me, you never gave me a break. >> You never listen. You told me >> 5 minutes. You said give me 5 minutes. you drove off. >> No, I did not drive off. >> Just have a seat. Have a seat. Thank you. >> Can you fix my hair, please? >> Yes, we'll fix it once you sit down. Just back up. >> Officer Vasquez, >> Yes, ma'am. >> I need I need Listen to me, please. I just came back. Can you fix my clothes a little bit? I'm embarrassed by how my clothes is. >> All right. So, she's worried about where her hair is, and that her pants are coming down, and she's embarrassed about the way she looks. She should be embarrassed about the way she's acting. Looks Looks are one thing. The way you act is a true tell of your personality, and hers is terrible. Like her lack of character and wanting to be in charge, and wanting to dictate the sequence of events as law enforcement's contacting her is just a demonstration of arrogance that is almost second to none. She needs to learn to just shut up and be an adult and do all the adult things, like pay your bills, manage your finances, and not get arrested. And she can't seem to do any of those. >> Ma'am, I'm not going to put my hands in your pants. >> Ma'am, can you help my pants down? >> Can you sit >> hold my pants up? >> Just Okay. >> So, Officer Vasquez >> to adjust her pants. >> My my pants had fallen down. >> So, ma'am, your your car is going to be towed. >> Yep. >> The information um >> Officer Vasquez, can >> Just a tow sheet, right? >> No. >> Ma'am, what's a good phone number for you to put on the uh on the tow sheet? >> Officer Vasquez >> Yes, ma'am. >> Please, this is going to affect my career. >> Ma'am, I don't know >> Sounds like a you problem. >> You're in cuffs right now because >> Can you take my pants >> because of the actions you took. >> Yeah, but this is what I'm explaining to >> Nobody did this except you. >> No, but Officer Vasquez, I you came for me very aggressive. >> no, no. I I was not aggressive. >> You you did you You had the light shining in my eyes. >> I did not. >> And I asked you to stop shining >> What we do so we can see at night. >> Officer Vasquez >> Ma'am, I need a good phone number to put on the tow sheet so you can get your car back. >> Can you please not tow the car? Can you let it be parked up there? >> Absolutely not. You can't afford it now. >> Yes, ma'am. >> I have to go to work in the morning. >> I understand that, ma'am. >> Sounds like a you problem. >> If you're not going to give me a phone number, we're just going to transport you and that's it. Yes, ma'am. I need a I need a phone number, ma'am. >> A number to call where? >> Your What's your cell phone? >> my numbers out of the >> What's your cell phone number? Yeah, so I can put it on the tow sheet. >> Can you please at least have mercy on me, Officer Vasquez? >> It's too late for that. It's too late for that, ma'am. >> I've been asking you to have mercy on me for the entire time. >> And the answer is no. >> Ma'am, can we get a better one? I started my company. I've been telling you this from day one. >> I don't know what country she flew in from. She never mentioned it. But I guarantee if she was from that country she probably didn't act like this towards law enforcement in whatever country she visited. She probably had manners. She was probably respectful because she probably didn't want to get the wrath of the police. Cuz the wrath of the police in other countries very different than the wrath of the police here in the United States, which is simply being taken into custody and booked into jail Without really any sort of physical altercation at all. So, maybe she should treat this country like other countries and just be a good human and avoid contact with law enforcement and pay your bills and be a good adult. >> We're going to tow the car. >> I guess that's >> Yeah. >> Can you Can you get in, please? >> And then she's going to work on the CR and I'll take her. >> But but Officer Vasquez, you don't even have to do that. You see I have the money there. >> Ma'am, you refused to pay. >> I didn't refuse to pay. >> at that point. Can you get in the car now? We're going to close the door and buckle you in. >> Okay. A couple of things. Can I make a couple of requests, please? >> Ma'am, you've been making requests since I And my my only >> You don't get to make requests. >> And I said I will. >> And and we couldn't even figure that one out. >> I did, but you checked my car. You checked my purse, right? >> Ma'am, can you please Ma'am, >> Officer Vasquez, >> can you just put your feet in, please, so we can close the door and go and go in, please? >> But it's hot in here and I'm claustrophobic. >> to turn on the car and they'll have the AC. As soon as you put your feet in >> Can you push this up a little? >> There's no pushing anything up in here. It's the wall. It's the wall. It's a fast way. Yes, ma'am. >> Can you please allow me the opportunity to fix this? >> No. >> Ma'am, can you please put your legs in? >> You had that. >> Officer Vasquez, listen. I'm at your mercy. I understand that it came off like I wasn't listening to you. I felt that we had a disconnect from day one. But here's where I'm at right now. >> All right, ma'am. >> Can you please listen to me, please? >> No, ma'am. Can you please put your Can you please >> I I am at your mercy, but here's the >> I understand that, ma'am, and you're going to jail for petty theft. That's what's happening right now. You can fight the charges. You can do whatever you need to do. You can make any complaints you need to make. Right now, we made every attempt for you to pay the bill and you did not pay the bill. You drove off on us. >> I did not drive off. >> late for that. >> It doesn't matter. >> From the time you came up here, you never you haven't been helpful towards me. You've been aggressive the entire time. You don't listen. >> I really don't want to argue with you. I think I've been pretty patient. >> You've been wanting to arrest me from from jump street. >> the last thing I want to do is is take you to jail. >> And and and now >> I bet that's absolutely accurate. >> This way at least I could protect my job. >> This officer, who's driving, tells the suspect, "I didn't want to book you into jail." I'm telling you right now, that is absolutely truthful. That officer 100% had better things to do on the night that this occurred than drive this lady to jail. I guarantee he had other responsibilities there. He had other things to do. He's He's leaving his his squad short because he's got to take her to jail because of the hand that she forced. He Those are the truest words that were spoken where I didn't want to take you to jail. She absolutely forced his hand and he gave her every opportunity to not, but she just She She couldn't do it. >> You're You're putting something on my thing that's not even accurate with petty theft. I'm in banking. I can't have those things on my file. >> Ma'am, I I >> Sounds like a you problem. If you're with banking, you should be better with your money. >> Gosh, you guys Y'all treat women, black people so rough. >> Oh, give me that race card. Oh, I don't have a race card on here. >> It's ridiculous for you to even say that. >> But you can't That's >> It's ridiculous for you to even say that. >> Why would I not think it's race-related if you're being like this when other people do crazy crimes and you're treating me like [clears throat] I did some crazy crime? >> I was treating you like I treat anybody. I told you to pay >> So you're always aggressive every time you show up on the scene? >> I'm not aggressive. But when you're telling me to to not shine my flashlight in your car, >> No, I didn't tell you that. >> That's actually exactly what you said. >> My eyes in my eyes. I was looking at the window when you shined it. So wouldn't it be in my eyes? >> Ma'am, that's why when you said the car was not in drive, I didn't When you said the car was not in park, I didn't even realize it. Ma'am, your problem seems to be and I'm If you don't let me talk, let me talk. Is you feel the need that you just need to keep saying stuff. I We made it a simple, me Me officer. You just had to pay, and you go. >> Did I ever refuse to pay? >> Yes. >> No, I did not. >> You were there for 40 minutes. >> What? I did not refuse to pay. I had $105. >> You didn't have even enough to pay the bill. They offered you to call somebody and pay the bill. >> Did I Did I not call? Did I not do that? Yes, I did. No, officer. That's That's where the part where you're not listening. Because I did call. >> How long do I have to wait there, ma'am, for you to do something? >> You told me I had >> How can you be an adult and not have money in your account? >> I said I got it situated, so I was pulling back in the line. That's what I was doing. Officer, do people actually drive off and not pay? >> Yes, all the time. >> Yeah. >> See, I didn't know that because I I've never done that. Officer, but that's what you don't listen to. You can You can You can >> I think it's quite ironic that you tell me I don't listen. >> You came from day one >> It's very interesting that >> You had your mind made up to arrest me. >> I That's not what I wanted. >> That's That's what it is. >> He definitely didn't want to arrest you. I promise. He's got better things to do. >> I can only give you the options, and I gave them to you, and you didn't seem to take me very seriously. >> Yeah, I didn't take you seriously. >> Yeah, I know. >> Well, time to be serious now. >> Try to run over your foot. Then you said you were doing this. Stuff that's not even in my character. [clears throat] >> Well, ma'am, unfortunately, our whole interaction from beginning to end is recorded on body worn camera. >> Good, I'm glad. >> Anybody can go and watch the film footage >> They could go and watch the film and they could see that I did not try to intentionally run over anything. I was startled. You said that, but you said that I tried to run over your foot, which was where the impression started. >> Well, then you're not listening to me. >> Yeah. Yeah, but I wasn't trying to run over your foot. >> I'm giving you very simple instructions. I like to follow especially when something silly, like not paying a bill. >> There's the wrong people in law enforcement. >> Well, well, ma'am, I've been doing this for a little bit, so I >> Yeah, me, too. And guess what? I took the test in 2004, and I could have been in law enforcement. >> have >> Yeah, I probably would have set the record straight because I would have a different approach to people to deal with people and have understanding and compassion. >> Well, ma'am, sure. Till you deal with someone like you. >> 14 years? I let other people dictate how the interaction is going to go. When I come up to someone and they instantly give me a hard time, it tells me how the interaction is going to be. And it's not going to be a good interaction with someone who's like that from the beginning. And you, ma'am, from the second I stepped up to you, it was going to be a bad interaction, unfortunately, because that's the way you dictated the interaction to be. >> That's accurate. >> She was charged with disorderly conduct and petty theft. >> Good. >> Card number five, no bingo. So, we had a great corner one with complaints about handcuffs, but what I needed was I needed the race card. And you know where I would have found that? On card number two. So, card number two on opposite corners had complaints about handcuffs and race card, we would have had the diagonal. So, if you were playing along at home and you had card number two on this one, you got it and you beat me. So, one up for you. What you can't beat me on is how awesome live chats are.
