That's a sergeant. He doesn't have time to stop here. What do you mean? Why do you keep talking to me if you're on my side? He's right here. Why do you keep opening your mouth? >> Okay. >> You're laughing like we won't fight or something. Do you want to work? Oh, okay. I want that, too. Shut the talking. >> I sure did. Like, what? >> Go ahead and step out of the car. >> Yeah. >> Did you get off me? >> Yes. >> On August 1st, 2023, officer stopped a vehicle after an improper turn. This video we found on Cam Witness. So, new site for us. We got to check them out. Body cam bingo is in effect today. Uh, today's squares. I know my rights. Drop in the race card. Uh, call your supervisor. Ask something about their phone. Uh, call my parents. Need your name and badge numbers on there. Uh, saying not resisting while actively resisting. And, uh, something about mentioning a lawyer. So, those are our squares for today. We're going to see how this video stacks up. >> Hello. >> Yes. Do >> you have your ID on you? >> Uh-uh. >> No. >> What am I getting pulled over for? >> You made an improper turn on Arlington from fourth. >> No, I didn't. >> So, improper turn or improper position for a turn or a wide turn. Typically, all the same thing. Um, it is something that the federal government, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has identified as a possible clue of impairment. It's a great stop for drunk drivers. Typically, I make that stop. If the driver is sober, there's no other issues, I give him a warning. I give him some education on the proper lane to turn into and we both part ways. But sometimes those easy stops, which is kind of innocuous by nature, turns into this and you end up with an arrest. Stop someone without a license. It turns into a a criminal arrest. Sometimes you could turn something into nothing. Sometimes you could turn nothing into something simply by making a traffic stop and contacting a driver. And that's look like what's going to happen here. >> Okay. When when you make >> You wasn't even behind me. You was behind me going down Chitt and then you turn down there. You've been following me. You really hit a gooey because you seen you broke past my grandmother's house and then you hit a U-turn for no reason. I'm going the speed limit. Like I'm not I didn't say you were speeding. >> I said you made an improper turn. >> I didn't hit no improper turn. you. >> Okay. Can I explain it to you and maybe maybe you'll understand. >> Unbelievable. >> For no reason. I didn't do >> hasn't even taken a breath. >> I don't know you. You're right. >> All right. So, what is you even following me for? You're following me for vent effort all the way down here. Like, that is crazy. What are you following me? >> Okay. You don't have an ID on you? >> I don't. >> How old are you? >> It don't even matter. >> It does matter. >> It don't because you you really was scouting, too. Like, what did what did I do to you? >> What's your name? What's your name? >> Do you have a license? >> Do you have a license? >> No, >> I don't know. >> You don't know? Okay. You all out there in internet land, John and Jane Qitizen, um if someone comes up to you and says, "Hey, do you have a driver's license?" And your answer is, "I don't know." your license is probably suspended. It's like I don't know if it's good right now. Like I that's typically that's where this is leading. It's leading down the road of I don't have a driver's license. So we pick up on those when someone gives you that response. You kind of know the road that you're going down and where it's going to lead. >> Do you have a license? >> She's 13 16 years old. >> Okay. >> I know I have a license. So >> I'll go. >> Okay. Just hold tight >> cuz that's not like what? And then it's I know it's never too >> It's never what? >> Two cores. >> That's almost Tonyy's two cars. >> You know what I hate? I hate a big fat wallet. Makes you set off all to the side and you look like George Castanza. Throws your hips out of place. I hate all of that. You know what I like is a nice thin wallet. How are you on fourth and then I'm on whatever street that is on you? >> Where Where did you Where did you turn from >> off? What's that street called? Fifth. >> Fifth Avenue. So, how do you see me turn from Ben Avenue? >> Which way? Which way did you turn? >> I turned right. >> You turned right? Yes. >> Oh, did you come all the way? What lane did you end up in? >> Improper position. >> It's a thing. >> Right on Arlington from fifth. >> Somebody call my grandma or something. I'm ready to go because I really see no point in sitting right here. You're being a traffic stop. >> I don't care. >> The more that you are walking like I did like you let me out the car or something. Get away from the car. Let me out. >> Does she have stupid eyelashes? I think she has stupid eyelashes. >> Morning cuff. Do you understand me? >> She looks like Snuffleopagus. >> Snuffleopagus. My best pal. >> Just relax. >> It's irritating me. You irritate me because you looking for a reason to follow me. There's no reason why. >> We literally look for reasons to pull people over. It's actually our job >> in our job description. >> Sergeant, hun. >> I don't care. >> Work out for your bad. >> It's already bad. Like what? >> Why is it bad? >> Because I'm getting pulled over. be a better driver. >> 15 to 22. >> Yeah, like you follow me and then it's so called a problem yesterday and then I wasn't even outside yesterday. So you looking for any reason? >> Any reason? Us? It's crazy. >> Why are you talking about yesterday? >> I was at the hospital with my little brother >> and he didn't want to car >> soon as you see the car pull off. So you just scouting. You're just You're just scouting at this point. You just >> That's a surgeon. He doesn't have time to care. What do you mean? Why do you keep talking to me? >> Sexism is a thing, >> right? It's out there. Some people don't treat other people nice because of their gender. In this case, driver seems pretty cool with big Sarge. Sarge is at the driver's side. Sarge walks away. Female officer on the passenger side. As soon as she opens her mouth, the driver does like a 180 and she is a just angry, aggressive, henry, terrible human being to that female officer, but she was super cool to the male officer. I don't know why, but it's just I the only thing I can think of is that it was gender based and she didn't at that moment she didn't want to be talked to by another woman and it just goes downhill. >> My side, he's right here. Why do you keep opening your mouth? [ __ ] >> You're laughing like we won't fight or something. Do you want to wear Oh, okay. I got that, too. Shut the I'm talking. >> I sure did. Like, what? Go ahead and step out of the car. >> This is going to be awesome. >> Can you get off me? >> Boom. Yes. Yeah. Down you go. >> Yeah. >> Learning curve. >> So, you can say a lot of things to the police, right? We we we accept um verbal assaults, which isn't a thing, but it's a term that gets thrown around out there. People can yell at us. Um all that happens. What you can say is that you want to fight us. Um because that is what's known as a pre-fight indicator. Um saying that you want to actively fight me and then we're going to take action to prevent you from fighting us. It's literally what's going to happen. So she says that I like that the sergeant on the driver's side's like, "Get out. we're going to address this right now. And she gets out, Sarge puts his hands on her, she pulls away, and Big Sarge takes care of business immediately. And I love that. I love that he's no nonsense. It's not, "Yo, they're not having this tugof-war. He just goes straight to it." And straight to the ground they go. I love it. It's my favorite. >> Just hit me in my mouth. >> No one hit you. >> Yes, you did. >> Don't grab. Are you guys good, >> bro? Why are you talking to me? my nails. >> No, stay there. >> Call my grandma. Call my grandma. Call my grandma. Call my grandmother. Call my grandmother. >> Okay. >> First, call my parent. Grandparent. We're going to go with that. >> Whoever do it like that. Who is getting this lady? >> Get this lady. Why did you let her get this off? I don't want to. Get this way. Get this off me. Why me like that? >> It's incredible when you find out you don't run things. >> You busting my leg. Weird as hell. Why do you keep grabbing me from different positions? >> The hell y'all pulling me? >> She the only person there yelling. I love it. >> Bro, get me, bro. Get the off me. Get off me. >> You're going to have to add get off me to the card. >> No, I'm not. So, y'all got her on me. Just grabbing on me. >> No, she don't have no gun. Get off me. >> Stop. >> Get off me. I don't got no gun. Don't look like I gun. I got some tight ass pants on. Tight ass shirt. >> No, I didn't. >> Do it look like I got a gun on. >> Why are you yelling? >> What? What is you chucking me for? I don't have >> Cuz we don't believe you on me, bro. Cuz you're No, >> your hair is made of rope. We just We can't take everything you say >> for truth. >> Said spread your feet. >> Why the is this and you going to let her go? >> Spread your feet. >> Spread your feet now. And then you let her do this for my mom. Mom, bro, my mom. >> Would you want me to do a split? Like what? >> Just listen. Y'all kick me, but y'all let her kick me. Y'all let me smacking my You smack my up on the concrete like what? >> All right, she's good. >> Yeah, I'm good. >> Take it. >> Can't even rub my lip like my lip hurt. Call my grandma. >> Call my grandmother. >> Why? >> What do you mean? Why? >> Cuz I'm 19 years old. What? Call my grandma. >> You're 19. >> Be my >> Call anyone. You're an adult. >> I don't care. Call my grandmother. >> Okay, we'll call her when we get a second. >> Call my grandmother. >> Why are you being so difficult? >> Because you all just Bro, you just busted my lip. What? >> Did you not threaten to fight the other officer? And then >> talking crazy to me. Quit talking. >> I told you to put your hands behind your back and you pulled away and squared up. >> Yep. >> Who squared up? Oh, my mom say I squared up. Don't you got a body camo? My mom say I squared up. >> Oh man, put your foot in. >> Put my dead brother square up. >> Put your foot in. >> Put your foot in. Call my grand. >> There we go. That needed to happen. >> Yeah, I still yelling. Ah, it's a good thing the further away he gets, the less you could hear. We doing okay. >> Passenger's like, I don't want any of this fire. >> Is that normal behavior for her? >> Yes. >> Like just to freak out cuz more than likely she would have just got a a warning like not even a ticket. >> That's what she do when she get angry. She >> like that whole thing was unnecess like none of that would have happened. >> That's how she gets though. Like every time she argue her mom or me she flip up. >> That's crazy. What a great sister. >> Okay. >> She's super calm. Just like, "Nope, >> just sit tight for me." Okay. >> My sister's crazy. >> Just before we get in there, my partner says, "Hey, you know, make sure >> she going to jail." >> Yes. >> Oh, yeah. >> Um, that I don't know. That's all up in the jail. >> Did I say talk to her? >> What's up? >> I have to talk to her. That's okay. >> Not right this second. Yeah. Not right this second. I mean, the way like the bail and stuff work, she could probably be out. I would say probably tomorrow, >> if not later tonight. >> Yeah. Sorry I had to go down like that. I >> want to hear my grandma. >> Huh? >> I'm going to hear my girl tomorrow. She doesn't try to come down here. >> Oh, no. Just put your hands on top of your head. You're not going to cops or anything. Just your cell phone. >> Super easy. Protective sweep. little make sure she doesn't have any guns. So, passenger's awesome, right? She sits there. Sister gets dropped and cuffed and stuffed. And passenger is just sitting there like, "I don't want any of this smoke. I'm just going to hang out here and and be cool." So, she's cool. She gets contacted. They're the police officers are nice enough to give her a ride home, which is super cool. Um, but they're going they're going to pat her down before she gets in the back of a cruiser. Um, it's a it's a very common policy. um if someone doesn't want to get padded down, we just don't put them in the back of our cruiser. So, it's totally voluntary. Um we just, you know, we're not going to let someone sit behind us with with a gun or a weapon. Um and that's really what that that search is to do is simply to look for weapons. They're not going through pockets. They're not looking for lint and, you know, something that, you know, a little baggie of weed or something. What they're looking for is a knife or a gun, something that could be used to hurt the officer. cursory search, no weapons. She goes in the back, she gets a free ride home, everything's good. >> Samaran was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and was sent to Summit County Jail. >> Nice. >> When her grandmother arrived and found out the car had been towed, she definitely wasn't a happy woman. >> So, what did she do? That's what I'm trying to find out. >> Well, she uh she told an officer that she was going to fight them. And then as they were getting her out of the car, she uh she did wasn't being very cooperative and then she was taken into custody and of course had to be she was taken on the ground and put in handcuffs. >> She's not supposed to be driving. She's under suspension car driving. >> I I I know that. >> Yeah. >> You can't let her drive your car then if you know she doesn't have a license. >> Well, I mean she was just supposed to be going around the corner to the drivethru and >> doesn't matter. Grandma Grandmas are nice. It's in their DNA. you become a grandmother, you just automatically become a nice giving person the majority of the time. I feel like grandma is, you know, granddaughter says, "Hey, I just want to run around the block to the drive-thru." Grandma's like, "Sure, you don't have a license, but you're just supposed to go around the block." Grandma's flirting with a citation for knowingly allowing an unauthorized person to operate a motor vehicle. We have that violation here in Arizona. Um, it is when John and Dave know each other. John knows Dave doesn't have a driver's license and John goes, "Dave, here's my keys. Run to Home Depot." You can't do that. It's here in Arizona at least. It's against the law. Um, it's a civil violation if they're an adult. It's a criminal violation if they're a juvenile. Um, but it is a citable offense and grandma's walking that line. I think, you know, these officers knew grandma had been through enough. Has to go home and deal with granddaughter, which is obviously a handful and having her car towed. They didn't want to cost her any more money, but the violation is there. They just used their discretion, which is well within their their rights. >> I was trying to hopefully get here before my car was towed away. And >> you want to ride to the police station? >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> I mean, you're not going to let me get her out tonight without a bond or whatever, are you? >> Samaria. >> Oh, that's not trash. >> Okay. one circle. I mean, why would I go to pieces? You >> just I understand that >> body cam bingo today. Only one circle. We're still working on it.
