what's going on low rider see driver's license please one of the first things that you notice about this episode is that it's at night I don't see very many Fridays with Frank episodes at night and it's not because I don't work at night I work at night all the time I love nighttime violations all like the lamp violations and all that stuff that happens at night but there's no video at night because Sam's a civilian and Sam doesn't like to work at night so this has nothing to do with my work hours it has to do more with Sam's work hours and Sam likes to be at home eating dinner in his house and not being on the road with me so um you know don't be surprised when you see me at night it's just I'm not going to have Sam with me most likely uh I have my permit offer you what I have a permit you have a permit yeah all right let me see your driver's license there front seat passenger I'm sorry I don't have anything you don't what's that say permit is only valid when the Pere you're the Pere right is accompanied by a person who is at least 21 years of age you don't look 21 nope and has a valid class AB C or D license who occupies the seat beside the perit so that's the seat beside him right yeah so you need to have someone with a driver's license and you don't why not we I or not we're just going to a friend right here down the corner and then we're just going to CH it and there's no excuse but so you're just so you're just like I just want to go over my friend's house so I'm just going to drive there no I don't have a license is that right okay just want to make sure we're on the same page see registration curent proof insurance for your for your low rider H at least you're wearing your seat belt ride a bicycle by the way so I'm Deputy slope I work for the panel County Sheriff offish Traffic Unit reason I stopped you is cuz you're traveling 58 mph here and when you passed me it looked like your windows were real dark that's why I started looking at you oh really so oh yeah yeah so your windows are real dark and then you're speeding and then you have a license so that's kind of how things progress there so he's 13 over um my normal bubble on a 45 mph Zone the majority of the time I start riding tickets at 15 over um now the state has said when they put up all those speed light cameras that they liked anything more than 10 mph of the speed limit so the state has said generally hey if you're 11 M an hour over the speed limit you could look to get a ticket um I bumped that up a little bit to about 15 over but there there's lots of times and sometimes it depends on the totality of the circumstances or I'll start riding tickets uh far below that but I'm typically I'm stopping cars um if you're more than 10 m hour above the speed limit I'm going to start looking at you um especially if you're moving you're passing slower moving cars I'm going to be looking looking to stop you and slow you down from that those you know kind of Lane changes and moving faster than the flow of traffic all right well uh you can't drive so um so have someone come here and pick you up okay yep wow J put your window up about this far I'll write you a bunch of tickets and stop might not be bad let's see what we got here that thing is 177% so it has to be 30% so that's 50% darker than you than you should be all right I got the truck like this yep I get it all right give give Mom a call how do see driver's license please I don't have my license on is your license suspended yes it is Sir okay I could see that your license is suspended because of the way you Drive which is not well which is why I'm pulling you over you have any warrants cuz I get a I get a warrant vibe from you I might have like not a warrant like for my arrest or anything but like a probation thing for cuz I I recently I feel like those are all the same I I don't really about this so every cop um that knows that look of someone you walk up to the car and they're like there's a good chance I'm going to jail right now that's that look that he just had I mean just absolutely like he is pretty sure that he's going to jail that was a pretty pretty hefty citation that you got from one of from a great friend of mine who happens to work here depy Nino's a he's a good dude yeah it's you you saying that he's a good dude does not surprise me he's he's pretty fair but also if he wrote you with reckless driving and exhibition of speed you were driving recklessly and exhibiting your speed on the bright side super cool good news no warrant for your arrest oh that's good yeah see say there's little little bright spots here she she why are you crying because I have really bad I had a really bad unbelievable oh okay his chick having a meltdown in the seat also um that gen Z kind of error of she's having a meltdown she's just a pass passenger in a car she's just sitting there and crying um but ultimately she drove from the scene um I'm not Towing people's cars for driving on suspended license it's a waste of my time I have to wait for a tow truck to get there I have to arrange for people to get a ride it's a it's a poor allocation a time um I have better things to do and there is no hold on it so I could literally tow that car and they could follow the tow truck to the tow yard and and get their car back like it it does nothing she was just worried about me cuz she knows that no man LIC a on the bright side one of the coolest things about living in panau county is that you get to deal with panau County deputies and by far we are the best law enforcement agency to deal with cuz we're all pretty cool and you're respectful which means I get to be respectful with you and we get to be just two gentlemen walk working through a problem right listen stop driving with no license yes all right make better decisions know that we enforce the law here pretty aggressively in panau County so like I know you're from up north in the valley and things are different up there down here you can't drive dirty man we're going to catch it so I'm in a a loner vehicle that's a old Chevy Silverado uh it's marked so I'm currently driving around in a giant billboard for the panal county sheriff's office your registration is a bit expired yes sir it is oh so you know yeah okay disabled vet immediately drops the hey I'm a disabled vet card um I have I have a metric ton of friends that are vets my best friend of high school a vet um bunch of guys on my squad right now are vets um I work with a bunch of vets I know a bunch of vets veterans hate when people drop that card of hey please treat me differently because I served I I'm thank you thank you for your service um you know it's a different level of service than than what I do um I have a I have a huge level of respect for it but don't use it as a crutch um this guy's driving an old car over 2 years expired and the price so in Arizona not everyone's in Arizona in Arizona the price to register your car drops 15% per year from when you buy it so I mean it's like down and I I drive very very little like right now I'm just going to the to the doctors okay all right yeah no I just didn't have the money to do it so so you last registered this in the year 2020 yes sir coming up on three years ago yes sir okay just want to make sure we're on the same page so apparently in 2 and 1/2 years you can't scrap together enough to register a car that is uh 2011 so that doesn't cost very much uh yeah that's that's just not acceptable that's just I like we all have to budget our money and that's just part of being an adult and I have to write this by hand because I'm in I'm in this fine vehicle that doesn't have our uh our electronic ticketing system so I get to what we like to call hand these tickets I forgot how terrible it is and how much easier that electronic system is we just scan it and click and attach everything and uh and it makes it easy and this is terrible and I don't enjoy this at all it hasn't seemed to stop the amount of stops that we're making today but it's it's a little bit harder to see that really um aggressive overt um reckless driving um in a marked unit just because it's uh you know obviously people people see it coming a little bit more people haven't seemed to really be passing me in traffic like they uh like they normally do so instead of yielding to the right this person just pulls to the left and now we're sitting here in the left lane just hang out in the median for absolutely no reason and this is why Arizona law specifies you have to pull to the right parallel to the rightmost curb and not pull into the left turn lane and sitting here on the red arrow just watching traffic go [Music] by that feel kind of weird sitting there in that left turn lane for the whole cycle of the yeah light yep that's a terrible spot to stop I mean I didn't I was looking I honestly don't even know where Maybe there maybe yeah yeah it's yeah terrible terrible spot see driver's license please in this episode there's a lot more stops than than in a normal episode and that's just because I'm driving around in that giant billboard um for the sheriff's office cuz my car was in the shop getting an oil change so Sam just pretty much put a clearance sale of all of the the stops that we made that day that were noteworthy um put them all into one episode because you know all the rest of the time I'm driving around an unmarked car um and people react different ly to a mark car and an unmark car so that's why there's kind of the the tempo of this episode is a little bit different so I'm Deputy slope I work for the pel county sheriff's office Traffic Unit the reason I stopped you is speed limit on this Road's 25 and we passed each other at you're doing 46 you window tint is y terribly dark terribly dark and yeah I know they're like I was like hey just so you guys know getting pulled over for what my tent yeah I already know yeah I you been living out here for a minute and you're the only one that stopped me about my tent no well it is terribly illegal and it's even worse the fact that you know it's illegal and you're like work for a glass company I know out of anyone working for a glass company like he's in the valley wrong it's just there there's no way around it and that very simple stop from window ENT led me to a criminal violation of driving while his license was suspended um passenger ended up having a good license at the very end you hear me go okay man you guys can switch so I checked the the passenger status they're still driving away in a car that's illegally tinted but it's a civil violation like there's nothing I can do they're on private property they could be there um so I just had them switch and and figured we'd take care of that down the road somewhere this car has like limo tint on every window it's like an inside of a closet in that car it's so dark um so I stopped him for his illegal window 10 and found out the driver's license is suspended so we took a very very simple equipment violation and turned it into a criminal offense and a criminal arrest um so sometimes just stopping people for equipment violations is something that we do just so that I could get up and talk to the driver um I probably would have given this guy a warning for his window T so your driver's license is suspended yeah it's because of this and DMV is taking their sweet old time putting it in their system oh you knew it you knew that too they're taking their time okay well in the time that they're taking their time you can't be driving that's fine but you have to understand I know that you're from Chandler but down here this doesn't go so if you continue to drive around in panal County I promise you someone else in the Traffic Unit is going to stop you I do love Chandler PD all right you guys can switch and get out of there
