On March 30th, 2024, a deputy in Florida, yeah, >> was out on patrol when she spotted a white Nissan with a Texas temporary tag speeding on the roadway. Activating her emergency lights, the deputy quickly followed the speeding vehicle to pull over the female driver. All right, everyone. I'm Frank Slope. I'm a 24-year veteran of a sheriff's office here in Arizona. Today, we're going to be doing some body cam breakdown. Uh, this video comes from Florida. We found it on real body cams. Uh, it's a site that we've used before. They're great. They put out good content. Uh, and everyone knows that I love stuff from Florida. So, while we're doing this, Body Cam Bingo is going to be the game today. [cheering] We're using card number two. So, if you want to play along, you can always order cards. Go to our website and order them. You order them. I will pack the package and I will send it to you. Uh, we have five different cards. So, today just happens to be number two. If you're at home, you want to play along, you maybe pick a different card and we'll see how it goes. And, um, let's watch it and see what we do. I stopped you today cuz you're going 49 and a 40. >> Apologize. >> You're fine. >> Wow. Pick up my kids. >> I got you. I just license registration and proof of insurance. >> Oh, I I got my license. >> They're going 130. That temp tag's going to be out of Texas, not Florida. >> Are you from Texas? Is that why there's a Texas temp tag on the car? >> I'm not from Texas. actually broke down here recently. >> Okay. Did you buy the car in Texas? >> No. >> Well, I have a Texas plate on it. >> Okay. Um, do you have the registration? >> No, I don't have none of that. I left it in my house. >> Okay. Do you have the insurance card? >> No. >> Nope. Okay. >> Let's just say that when I see temporary plates, especially from other states, I always check them to see if they're valid. And I run every Texas plate that I see. Uh we have a lot of Texas plates here in Arizona. Um they Texas does not issue a tag that goes on your license plate. So you can't tell from behind the vehicle when the registration expiration is. Um in Arizona, we do. We have a tag that goes on your license plate and you can see it and it says the month and the year that the um registration expires. Texas doesn't have those. So I run every Texas plate that I see. I end up with a ton of expired out ofstate registration here. Uh it's a great ticket for me. So I I really I try to bring people into compliance. People are moving here and then they just don't reup their tags. So I like to be the catalyst of change in this one. Traffic stop for speed. I love those. And then plate doesn't come back. It just happens to be out of Texas. But story seems a little fishy. >> 313. I tried to run that 28 out of Texas and it's advising no record. >> I copy. Can you try running it out of New York? >> New York. >> Run by not found. FCIC clear. >> I tried running at several ways out of both Texas and New York. It's coming back. >> I got Thank you. >> So they live in here. >> Her kids do. She lives in Orlando, but the tag's not coming back to anything out of New York. >> Is it the same? Yep. Stay in your car. >> Did you guys take my temporary tag for my car? >> Sit back down. >> Okay. I just want to make sure. >> No, I just want to make sure. >> Do you have any paperwork on the car? >> Don't worry about it. >> What was the original stop? Just speeding. >> Yeah, she was going 49 or 40. >> 3113 out of New York. That's coming back negative. Comes back to a 2019 Nissan Rogue. >> Mhm. white in color. >> You ran the old tag or >> I just ran the VIN and it's coming back to Texas. >> Nice. Yep. >> But it's expired in Texas as of January 23. >> Your car used to be registered in New York before you moved here. >> Of course. >> Okay. And what happened to that tag? >> I had to let it go. >> Usually you can move here with the tag. >> Okay. >> So why did you have to let it go? >> Because I did it. >> Did what? >> I let it go. So, you drove it here with no tag? >> I drove it with a tag. >> The New York tag. >> Which tag? >> Whatever tag I had. >> Which is what? >> Why you asking me so many questions like that? >> I'm asking the same question, but you're not answering the questions. >> Cuz it's our job. >> Speaking like, um, why you asking me about my tag, though? So, this driver seems seems a little apprehensive to provide information as to where this license plate, temporary license plate came from. She's from New York. She's in Florida and she's got a Texas plate on her car that supposedly is registered to her out of New York. Um, but she surrendered her plates and now she's got a plate from a state that she's never been to. It doesn't come back to the car. It's I still have no idea how this happened. It sounds like they ran it by VIN, which is absolutely the right thing to do. Um, and that's how they figured out that it used to be registered in New York, but doesn't have a New York license plate on it. So, I don't know. I I still don't even right now, I have no idea what's going on with this. Maybe it's an administrative issue um and that it wasn't, you know, any sort of nefarious intent, but uh whatever it is, it she's certainly not providing enough information to allow the deputies that are working this to kind of muddle through it >> because you had a New York tag and people don't usually give away good tags. So, I was asking what happened to that good tag that you had from New York. >> All right. You don't I just let it go. >> That's not That's not an answer. Write her a bunch of tickets. >> All right. Sula, is that how you pronounce her first name? >> Slea. >> Sleeka. Okay. Do you mind stepping out of the vehicle for me real quick? Of >> course. >> I don't have no shoes. >> That's okay. >> We're in Florida. That's fine. [laughter] >> I hire you. >> I don't blame you. Just come to the back of the vehicle. Okay. So, so what's going on is when I run the car with the VIN, completely different tag. So, it's coming back to a KWK9300. Um, it states that it was suspended back in New York. Um, and that your New York driver's license obviously is expired. Okay. Um, this tag comes back to absolutely nothing. I've run it out of Texas because it's saying it's a Texas permit and I've run it out of New York. Absolutely nothing. >> Wait, hold on. You talking about my license? It's >> the New York New York one. This one's fine. >> All right. That's what I'm saying. Okay. >> So, what's up? Because this comes back to nothing and it's showing that the original tag is completely suspended. >> It makes no sense. >> But you can't provide anything. So, as of right now, it's an unregistered vehicle. >> It makes no sense. All right. Give me a second. Let me see if I >> Wait, just hold on for a sec. Hold on for a second. >> Let me see if I find something in my >> registration. Okay. And you don't know where you got this tag? >> Give me a second. I don't I got it from New York. >> You didn't get it from New York. It's a Texas tag. >> I got to give a lot of credit to these deputies. Uh she wants to go back in the car to try to magically find paperwork um that she had the entire duration of the stop to find. But now she now she's like, "Oh, I'm being held accountable. Oh, maybe I need to go look for some paperwork." But when she goes in, if you notice, all the deputies move to the car with her. They don't let her um close the door. Like they're they're standing there, hold the door open. Um they make sure that she's not, you know, doing anything to manipulate the the gear shifter because what they don't want is they don't want her driving away. So, um I think they did a great job, you know, obviously giving her the opportunity to present some sort of useful um documentation, but at the same time being as good as they could in uh not allowing her to have total control of that vehicle. >> It's under my name, though. >> Oh, there you go. Excuse me. Why? Why you taking that? >> Because as of right now, it doesn't belong to the car. So, you can't drive with it on >> that is from my car. >> No, wait. Hold on. Hold on. No, no, no. >> You're not going to take something from my car that doesn't No. >> You're going to end up going to jail. You don't watch out. >> This belongs to my car because it is from my car. I had it for a very long time. So, I suggest you give me my tag. >> I asked you for information about the tag. >> All right. So, there you go. And you said, >> "Can you give me Can you give me my tag? >> Give me my tag >> for my car. >> Give me my tag for my car. >> Give me the tag for my car." >> Turn around and talk with her. >> I think you understand how things work in Florida. >> The tags on your car now. Talk to her. >> Okay. >> No, ma'am. We're not. >> Excuse me. Uhhuh. >> I can't believe he did that. >> Regardless, >> it's still It's still on the money. >> I understand. Yes, it is. But the only thing that's coming under your name is the other tag that was on this vehicle. This literally comes back to nothing. >> Okay. >> KWK 9300 is what is registered to this vehicle. >> That is coming back to nothing. >> Are you kidding me? >> It's coming back to absolutely nothing. I ran it multiple times out of Texas and New York trying to help you out. It's coming back to nothing. You really got to be kidding me right now. >> Again, it's coming back to nothing. >> This is my time. >> But ma'am, guess what? This deputy's giving you a break. >> I'm giving you a break. I could be taking you to jail. >> You're not going to jail. >> All right. So, why you telling me though? Yeah. Would you let me tell? You're telling me all of the >> All right. So, >> I'm trying to explain to you what's going on. Okay. >> Then, so I'm giving you a notice to appear. It's a ticket. It's you have to go to court >> on this instead of me physically arresting you. >> Okay. because this is a criminal charge. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, I just need your signature on that. And I'm not giving you a ticket for the speed. >> For speeds for what? >> I've stopped you for speeding, honey. >> She's giving you a warning for speed. >> I'm giving you a warning for that instead of a ticket on top of everything else. >> I wasn't even You see that? I was picking up my kids. >> All right. Regardless, we're not talking about All right. >> We're just going to get this done. >> Oh, where's the signature? >> Signature for what? Again. So >> you're getting it. >> I'm providing you this notice to appear instead of you physically going to jail. >> I need your signature on it. And if you do not sign for >> you will be going to jail >> for >> it's just providing that you got this notice to appear >> for >> to go to court >> for >> the unregistered vehicle. >> Okay. Unregistered. But this is in my name. >> Want to take it with you and show it to the judge? >> Okay. All right. I'm going to take this I need both the tag and this. We're not playing this. >> We're going to take them. >> For what? Because it's evidence in the case. >> We're not playing this. We're not playing this. >> I'll bring it. I'll bring it to the court. >> Absolutely not. >> Screw it. >> I'll bring it to the court. >> We're not doing this. >> Wow. >> Are you serious right now? >> Yep. You don't get to act like that. So, this driver absolutely had the opportunity to not go to jail. Um, she's in the neighborhood. She asked somewhere to park the car just a couple houses down from where the stop location is. She could have signed her ticket, her promise to appear, which is simply, hey, I received this citation. I'm going to go and talk to the judge. In Arizona, we call it a citation in lie of detention or CLLD. Um, so I CLLD people all the time for all sorts of criminal stuff that's not violent in nature and it's just administrative. Hey, go take care of this with the judge. So, all she had to do was allow the plate to be seized because that plate doesn't belong on the vehicle and it's expired and sign the citation saying, "Hey, I promised to appear, you know, in 3 weeks and go talk to the judge." And she would have been on her way, but because of her attitude, and she's probably never been held accountable for anything before because she had this attitude of give me my plate, I'm not going to do this, you need to do that. and all of a sudden the handcuffs go on and she's I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Well, if she's sorry one second after the handcuffs go on, she should have seen that happen one second before they went on and changed her attitude. But no one's ever held her to that standard. So, she just didn't know what it was like. Well, now she does cuz she went to Florida. >> I would have brought it to the court. >> She had to. >> You don't get to make that decision. I was trying to get you from having to do this. >> My decision's been made now. >> I was doing everything to help you out, honey. >> Bro, wait. My kids. Wait, wait, wait. >> That's why I was doing what I was doing. >> That needed to happen. >> Please, please. I apologize. >> Oh. Oh, now. Now you apologize. >> No, you already had your opportunity. >> Nope. >> You already had your opportunity. You wouldn't listen to me. I was trying to help you out. >> Please. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please. I told you multiple times. >> Please. Please. No. No. No. My kids don't. Please. >> Do you have anyone that can get that? >> No. No. >> You have to act like that because you have kids. Absolutely not. >> I'm sorry. >> We'll get it figured out. >> I'm sorry. Please. I'm sorry. >> No way. No. >> You had your opportunity. >> I like it. >> Nice job. >> Wait, wait, wait. I can tell them. Can I tell my kids something, please? >> I will let you. >> Can I tell them something? [laughter] Wait, [crying] please. Wait. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. >> I tried working with you multiple times. >> Please. Please. No. Wait. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. No. My >> No. Repercussions. Repercussions for your actions. >> Miss Cruz, I tried to help you multiple times. >> Sorry. Tell me. I apologize. Do you have anything on you that's going to be considered contraband? >> Wait, no. Put that there. Please don't do it. Please. >> Do you have anything on you that is going to poke me, Rodney, or be contraband in the jail? >> No. My kids. >> All right, ma'am. Spread your feet and lean up against the cover. >> Oh, God. >> Dude, my kids. No. No. Please. >> I gave you every opportunity. >> No. No. Wait. No. I apologize, bro. I'm sorry. >> You lost that chance. >> Yep. >> Where's your legs? >> Don't kick her. >> I'm good. >> Please don't let my Please don't put up. Get in the car. Get in the car. We're not playing this. We're not playing this. >> There we go. >> Every opportunity. >> No. We're not playing this. Get your legs in the car. my girl >> not in New York anymore. >> I can say this because I'm from New York. Now, I'm not from the city and based on her accent, she's probably from like Brooklyn. Um, and I'm from Long Island, so we're we're different people. But in New York, NYPD is a busy agency. They don't do a ton of traffic enforcement. It's just the streets are congested. They've got a ton of priority calls. They just they don't focus primarily on traffic enforcement. Now, you go down to Florida and you're dealing with deputy sheriffs. We do traffic. It's it's what we do. And she may have had that, you know, be able to take that attitude in New York to a law enforcement officer there and maybe they would have been more accepting of that. But you go to Florida and you bring that New York City slicker attitude to a deputy in Florida, this is what's going to happen. This is a prime example of we we don't we're not going to ask you twice. Hey, sign this and she mouth mouth mouth. Boom. Under arrest in custody. Go to jail. That's the difference between New York and Florida. And that is why Florida has Florida's crime rate and New York has New York's crime rate because the deputies like this doing the job. I love it. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> Where did you pick them up from? the baby. She's in the >> Okay. Are you okay with the kids being with her? >> I'm sorry. >> Miss Cruz, are you okay with the kids being with her? >> I have to get a definitive answer. Honey, >> yes. >> Yes. >> Okay. She's fine with them staying with the babysitter. Well, my kids, >> they're with the babysitter. >> And instead of towing your car, we're putting it in the driveway. >> I can't even believe they're not towing her car. >> You are putting me under arrest for what? >> Again, if you wouldn't have stop kept talking over me. That is an unregistered vehicle. >> Cuz you you getting mad? >> No, it's an unregistered >> getting mad for you to resist mine. It's still under my name, bro. I got I'll take bro. >> You that right? >> She's not even a bro. >> You taking my kiss? Yo, you you you see what the you doing right now, right? >> She's so New York. >> This cruise. This could have all been avoided. >> This is hilarious, bro. You mad. You mad cuz the still came up to my knee. It comes to nothing. >> You mad. You mad. >> She went from crying to trash talking the cop. You're like, >> I'm a mom and you you you the one that want to break my kids away from me. You my stupid ass. You intimidated. >> Y'all taking the tag out of my car. Y'all not telling me nothing on some >> Nothing. >> Now you taking my paper. Give me my Y'all didn't tell me nothing. Like, >> oh my god. >> Are you speaking English? Woo. Oh, let me put my hand back in here. >> Did you take your hands out of your cuffs? >> Don't worry about it. >> Did you take your hands out of your cuffs? >> No. >> Did you take your hands out of your cuffs? >> No, I didn't. >> I can go back and watch the video. Just be honest with me. Was that it? That's why she like that. [snorts] If she was a mother, [laughter] she would have understood. I said, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I apologize." >> Oh my god. She almost did it. >> Are you injured at all? >> No. I got to use the bathroom. >> Okay. Homicide suicidal. >> No. >> You take any Can you not? >> No. Baby, can I [snorts] get a um tissue? Can you hide my nose? >> I can get you inside. We do all that. >> I don't have no shoes. >> I am not walking without my shoes over there. >> So, if you had asked nicely, it would have been >> May I? >> What? >> You going to carry me? >> The way you're acting already, I can see how this is going to go. >> Can you carry me though? >> No, you're not. >> I'm not going to go. >> So, just listen, >> bro. Would you walk? Would you walk? Okay. John, >> will you not? >> Yep. Look, you can walk barefoot. Crazy. >> The suspect was charged with resisting an officer without violence, no motor vehicle registration, attaching an unauthorized license plate to a vehicle, and speeding. >> I like it. >> In court, the suspect pleaded now guilty to resisting an officer without violence, and to the speeding infraction. The court later dismissed the suspect's speeding infraction. The suspect pleaded no contest, the charge of no motor vehicle registration. However, the court with her at junction, deciding not to officially convict the suspect as long as they followed all conditions. >> Body cam bingo card number two didn't work out. All I got was bro. And she wasn't even talking to a bro. But whatever. It's a New York thing. All right. We didn't win at this. What I want to win is I want to win by getting a million subscribers.
