On November 29th, 2024, an officer pulled over a vehicle that had no visible license plate. >> these. All right, everyone. I'm Frank Slow. I'm a 25-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office here in Arizona. Today, we're going to be doing some body cam breakdown. So, we're going to be using card number four from our body cam bingo cards. We sell a set of one through five. They're on our website. You go there, check them out. You order and I'll sell them to you. Body Cam Watch is the channel we found today's video. Not the first time we've used them. Definitely not going to be the last. But, this one's looking good. So, let's see if we can get a bingo on card number four. >> What am I being detained for? >> Uh, you're being stopped. You don't have a tag on your vehicle. Do you have a tag? Yeah. I don't give a [ __ ] Do you have a driver's license on you? >> No. >> You have no driver's license on you? >> I'm not a US citizen. >> Not a US citizen? >> No, I'm not. >> Oh, man. Why not? >> I don't want to be. I ain't got a damn corporation. >> You know this video is going in a good direction when the suspect with that deep south accent tells you that he's not a US citizen. That's all I need to know about the makings of a good video right there. Like, I've watched this long of it and I know it's going to be good. >> Oh, man. You got a badge number? >> All right. Yeah, man. 214. Do you have a You have no driver's license now? >> no legal ID at all. >> Okay. Well, hey. Calm down. Calm down. All right. This ain't going to Trying to figure out his phone? All right. Hey, can you get back in your car? Why are we doing this? All right. All right. You're good. >> Am I being detained? >> You are detained, yes. Yes. >> All right. So, this is an arrest? >> No, it's not an arrest. >> Yes, it is. Detainment is an arrest. You need to turn your god damn lights on. I'm under arrest for what? Detainment is >> That's not true. Now, you have a for what? >> What am I being detained for? >> You have no tag. Oh, we're going to get a supervisor request here. >> I'm required to have a tag. >> Yes, you are. If you're on the roadway, you are. >> I am not. No, I'm not. I'm not required to have a tag. >> All right. >> Just go ahead and send me a supervisor. I've got someone being difficult. >> All right. I'm not required to have a tag. >> Yes, yes, you are. >> No, I'm not. >> Yes, you are. >> your name then? >> You can record me all you want, that's fine. All right. I go by the name of Garrett Shannon. >> Garrett Shannon. >> All right, sir. >> What's your date of birth, Garrett Shannon? >> I don't know. I'm way past the age of majority. >> Way past it. You don't know your date of birth, nothing? >> No, I don't. >> All right. >> I did not I cannot remember witnessing my birth. >> You can't remember Okay. You don't know when you were born, though? >> I have no idea. >> You don't know anything? >> I cannot I did not witness Well, I probably witnessed my birth. I don't >> I got it. Pretty sure you witnessed it. That's the That's why are you being Why are you so upset right now? All right, this is >> This is an unlawful constitutional stop. >> It is not. No, sir. >> Yes, it is. >> Negative. >> Show me the contract. >> All right. Well, we have plenty of policies, all right? >> Policy is a corporate edict. >> Okay. >> I'm not a statutory citizen. >> Okay. I've warned you multiple times. >> So, you're saying you're a sover- >> I'm a non-resident alien. >> So, you're saying you're a sovereign citizen, is that what you're saying? >> No, sir. No, sir. >> Okay. >> That's an oxymoron. >> So, suspect here, who I think we can all agree, is not the brightest flower in the bunch. Uh he's like, "No, I'm not a sovereign citizen. That's an oxymoron." That's probably the only true thing that he actually said. Cuz if you think of the word sovereign, you think of the word citizen, you put those two together, yeah, I could see that being an oxymoron, like jumbo shrimp or government intelligence. You know, they're oxymorons. So, I I get it. But like, you've got those sovereign-esque beliefs, I'm going to put you in the sovereign citizen box. And if you don't like it, that's a you problem. >> Okay. All right. All right. Well, we have to >> alien. >> All right. Well, Mr. Shannon >> state citizen. >> Mr. Shannon >> All right. >> Stop. You're You're blowing this all out of proportion right now. All right. That's all I'm saying. All right, you're you're getting upset, you're making yourself angry, you're doing all of that right now. I do not understand anything. >> No, I do not understand anything. >> So, you're refusing to identify yourself. >> Yep. I have identified myself. >> Yes, you're saying but I can't prove who you are because you're not giving your date of birth. You understand that? >> I don't have to. >> You absolutely do. >> This is an infringement of my rights. >> You are on >> I'm actually looking forward to another lawsuit. >> Another lawsuit? >> Yep. If you would like a lawsuit, do you you're more than welcome to do that. All right. >> I'll say law I'm looking forward to another lawsuit. We're at that one. >> So, are you upset right now? Cuz obviously this is nothing to be upset about. >> been stopped for no reason. >> You have no tag. I already told you that. >> reason. What crime have I committed? >> Right now you're driving a vehicle. I don't know who >> I am not driving. I >> All right. This driver I'm traveling. Go ahead. >> I'm traveling. >> All right. Well, you're traveling. Stop. Stop right now. >> the right to resist. >> No, you do not. >> Yes, I do. >> I think that if if you've watched enough sovereign citizen videos, you know that they think that they have all sorts of rights. They they make up rights all the time. Now, in 25 years of doing this job, I have never heard I have the right to resist. I've never heard it. I've never heard of it come out of a suspect's mouth in person. And I think this is the first time I've ever heard I have the right to resist on a video. So, it it kind of surprised me because I I don't think that that's accurate. But he said it with such conviction that I almost want to believe him even though I know it's not true. So, he's just he's just making stuff up. >> All right. Stop. >> I'll wait till your supervisor gets here. >> Yeah, I got to call that supervisor request. And a bingo, straight across. I knew I was going to get it. Yeah, I'm individuals. Individuals refusing to identify himself. Bingo. >> I have identified myself. >> Again, you got to say that I can't prove it's that you. But you don't know when you're born or anything like that? >> I have mine a witness it, but I do not know. I'm way past the >> So now you have witness your birth? >> What's the age of majority? >> So now you have witness your birth? I'm saying you didn't witness your birth. >> Yeah, but I also I don't remember when I was born being a baby, but I'm way past age of majority, though. >> What a difficult life this must be. >> the age 18 or 21 or whatever you want to call it for majority. >> Okay. You have You say you have no tag on your vehicle. You have no idea when your date of birth is. You have no registration. >> no longer owned by the state. The state has no interest in that vehicle. >> Okay. >> That VIN number has been removed from all the DMV registries. >> Okay. >> So, you're way up, dude. >> Oh. >> Oh, I'm Hey, that's not nice to use that kind of I haven't used that language with you. >> I can use whatever language I want. I didn't say I didn't say you I I wouldn't talk to you in an in a derogatory way. I just said you're effing up. >> Okay. Explain to me how how I'm effing up. >> That vehicle the state has no interest in. It is not collateral for the national debt anymore. >> What? >> Could you please turn the light down towards the ground? >> No. No. Cuz I Well, if you keep putting your hands in your pocket, I got to see you. Isn't it dark out? Sorry, that's not happening. You got your light on. I'll get my light on. >> Eventually, another officer arrived on scene. >> what's up? No tag on vehicle. He's only give me a first last name, can't confirm if that's him. Um inside try to get close to him, he runs off. At this point, I don't know who he is. He's resisting, obstructing. So. >> Time to be placed under arrest. >> Now who he is, then. All right. You're under arrest. >> Stop. >> Don't do that. >> So, if you notice, the initial deputy that stops this guy calls for another unit, and now he's simply entertaining this guy while he's waiting for backup. Like they're having this conversation, and he's trying to get information, which good on him, he's conducting an investigation. But, you'll notice that there is no more conversation once the second deputy gets there. First deputy tells him what he has, "Hey, we're going to place this guy under arrest." And that's it. They go straight to cuffs. So, deputy number one had already made the arrest no arrest decision. He goes, "Look, this guy's going to go." And all he's doing is waiting for a friend there so that if this does turn into a physical altercation, that at least he's got some backup there. Super smart move. Um it it's also the way that I like to do things. If I if I had that feeling like it's going to be a fight, I'd rather there be two or three of us against one. Um cuz it's not about fighting fair, it's about taking someone into custody and no one getting hurt. And the more people that are there, the less possibility there is of someone getting hurt. So, good on this deputy for just passing the time. >> Mr. Shin, stop. Put your hands behind your back. >> Stop. >> All right. Very good, Mr. Shin. All right. This is This is not how we want to start the day. All right. Or our day, anyways. All right. Mr. Shin, can you stop tensing up for me? >> I still don't know why >> Stop. Come on. Mr. Shin. Come on. I told you. I can't confirm who you are right now, and you have no tag on your vehicle. That's why we stopped you. All right? We're trying to be very lenient with you and talk to you like a adult. >> Yeah. >> And you're being unclenched >> Unclench your hands, Mr. Shin. >> There we go. >> All right. If you had listened to us, we could have This could have been >> Way easier. >> 214. Just that someone detained at this time. All right, Mr. Shin. You're going to go this way. We're going to go to this vehicle here. >> Why am I being removed, though? I thought you were just trying to verify who I am. >> We are going to do that. >> And that's okay. You can verify who I am out here. >> All right. You got to You got to tell us your date of birth and everything, who you are. Mr. Shin. >> I don't know what my date of birth is. >> You don't know your date of birth? >> That's information upon myself. This guy's trying to guess myself, which I don't want to do. >> Okay. So, for the time being, yes, we're going to put you in the back of the patrol car. All right? >> Why can't I sit on the tailgate? >> Cuz you're going to jail. >> Mhm. You want to sit on the tailgate. Why Why can't I sit on my tailgate? >> You want to sit on the tailgate with this deputy while we figure out who you are. >> You already got my hair. Here it goes. Where the heck am I going? >> Well, you already tried to run from us. >> leave my vehicle. >> All right, come on, Mr. Shin. There we go. All right. Now we got some They got some backup showing up. Now I like it. >> any weapons in here? >> Yes, sir. >> Old boy here seems to not have a full grasp of the legalities of identifying himself. Now, there is true. There is a Fifth Amendment right to not incriminate yourself. Absolutely correct. You do not have to say anything that in You don't have to testify against yourself. Absolutely correct. However, you do need to provide evidence of identity when you're driving down the road on roads that are paid for by tax dollars in the United States. That's just the way it is. So, I I like that these the sovereign beliefs tend to cherry-pick little bits of information that they like or that they don't. And I don't know about that one. >> Do you have weapons on you? >> Yes, I do. >> Okay. What kind of weapons do you have on you, Mr. Ham? >> I am not giving you consent to search. But I do have a weapon what would be considered a weapon on me >> You don't have to answer that. All right. All right. So, stop him for no tag. See if this >> Yeah, we >> So, I'll be able to tell him. >> Yeah. He He said he stopped but he said he said he asked him he was he said no. >> He's not. >> Um >> Check the file. >> identify himself. >> Yeah. >> So, stop him before I let him stop. He didn't want to tell you. He wouldn't Probably identify himself. >> Yeah. >> So, is that all the PC you need to do what you need to do? >> Yep. >> All right. All right, Mr. Ham. That's all. Let's go ahead and go back to this vehicle cuz you are under arrest at this point now. So, sorry I had to come this way, man. >> Can I have someone call to my vehicle? >> Oh, no. >> You can absolutely do that. If you have someone who you want to call? >> Yeah. >> Who do you want to call? >> I'd call my friend Ricky. >> Ricky? >> Mhm. >> Ricky sounds good. All right. All right. I'll help you do that. All right. >> All right. >> I am I this I I have the feeling like this is kind of a small sheriff's office. Um this deputy seems super nice. I mean, it's when the guy's like, "Well, can I have someone come pick up my car?" If that happened with me, the answer would not only be no, but hell no and absolutely no. And I would tow that car. Um you know, it's I'm sure it's within this this deputy sheriff's office policy that they can release the car and he was nice enough to allow the guy to call one of his friends to come pick it up. Um I good on him, but it's not the way I would do it. >> The phone here? All right. Hey, this is Ricky. >> Hey, uh can you pick my Ranger up for me? I'm right in front of Don's house. >> Pick it up? >> Yes, sir. >> What do you mean pick it up? >> I guess I'm uh going down to uh the the state motel for a while. >> Yep. >> Uh unfortunately, I shouldn't have to take him to jail, but he didn't want to cooperate with us. He could have simply just told us his name, date of birth. Say, "Get a tank. All right, it's a warning. Have a nice day." But we couldn't do that today. >> All right. Take your while. >> Yeah. It's unfortunate. >> Where are the keys? You going to be at? >> Stop reaching. >> I think they're still in the ignition. >> Okay. All right. If they're still in the vehicle, if not, yeah. What happened here? Another deputy be waiting by with this vehicle. >> You want to tell him his name and the time? >> All right. Thank you, sir. >> All right. Yeah. >> All right. Bye. >> Okay. All right. >> You mind shutting the phone in my truck for me? >> You want the phone shut? You want to take it with you? No. All right. We will do that. >> Okay. >> You want to hold this phone for me? >> Yeah. >> All right. Go ahead and face it that way. >> Point your camera at the QR code or click the link below to get a special discount that CyberGhost VPN is giving my audience. He didn't appear for his arraignment and ended up spending 102 days in jail. >> All right, it's a bingo. So, we got straight across with for what right away and then the supervisor request.
