12 year old driving a Chevy SUV begins

simultaneously called start pouring into
the Donya Anna County sheriff's office
in New Mexico as astonished onlookers
report the perilous scene unfolding
before them
through coordination with the Las Cruces
Police Department it's discovered that
the car's description matches that of a
vehicle that had been stolen the night
before deputies know they have a
dangerous situation on their hands and
quickly respond to the area of the last
known sighting it doesn't take long

transported to the station where a
deputy is able to locate a working
number for his mother and informs her of
the situation
because all parties involved are minors
the jpo or juvenile probation officer on
call is also notified and provides
proper clearance for detainment what
happened dude

all four additional Witnesses give
corroborating statements on the record
further Shoring up the deputy's account
of events upon receipt of approval from
the supervising officer a search of the
stolen vehicle can now be carried out
this is one exception to the fourth
amendment protection from unreasonable
searches and seizures an inventory of an
impounded vehicle may be conducted
without a search warrant other
situations where police do not need a
search warrant to search a vehicle
include those where you have given the
officer consent the officer is probable
cause to believe there is evidence of a
crime in your vehicle
the officer reasonably believes a search
is necessary for their own protection
and you have been arrested and the
searches related to that arrest such as
a search for illegal substances

in addition the boy also had a previous
felony run in with the law for
conspiracy to commit Auto burglary
the other four juveniles involved in the
incident ranged in age from 12 to 17 and
were taken into custody it's unknown
what became of the case as names of the
minor suspects were never released
