Well, I listen. I'm a cop. >> Okay. >> Private citizen. >> Okay. >> Understand? So, shut up while I'm talking. >> Get down on the ground. Get down on your knees right now. >> Absolutely not. >> All right. >> Absolutely not. >> Sir, >> don't touch me. >> All right, sir. I am Officer Stanley, Koker Beach Police Department. >> Who you are? >> It's a popular saying that power tends to corrupt people and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Sometimes people in power find it difficult to obey the same rules that they make for others. But what happens when they get to learn that the rules apply to leaders [music] and their subjects? >> Be careful because uh sometimes I am uh my son working from FBI. >> I like it police. My father was police. >> I appreciate that. >> My son working for uh why you guys doing that? >> How many times? >> When I call to my son Here are several instances when people in power want to believe the illusion that the rules don't apply to them. The first power drunk person was a rich arrogant [music] guy who believed that being very rich meant that he was untouchable and that he could [music] even arrest a police officer. >> And the first south can I get 94? >> Yeah, I'm listening. >> Well, I listen. I'm a cop. >> Okay. >> Private citizen. >> Okay. >> Understand? So, shut up while I'm talking. >> Make a citizen's arrest right now if you harass him. >> So, I own everything here. Here, I even own this guy. So, if you guys want to haul me in for questioning about my cart that I've already talked about many times as a [ __ ] idiot, you shouldn't have this job. I'll make sure you lose it. >> On the 17th of April, 2024, police officers had reasons to apprehend a man on reasonable suspicion of being possession of a stolen Publix cart. The man in question claimed to be the owner of Publix [music] itself. Still, rather than give a reasonable explanation for being in possession of the shopping cart, he chose to let his arrogance lead the way, setting the grounds for what would end in a very embarrassing [music] arrest. >> Koker Beach Police Department. >> I've seen you many times. >> Yeah. Yeah. I noticed you're out with a public shopping cart right now pushing it around. >> I own Publix. >> You own Publix? >> I do. John Carney, you can call him and ask. >> Okay. >> I own the building I stay in. >> Oh, okay. >> You own most of Cocoa Beach. >> Okay. Well, let me get you some Let me see your driver's license, please. >> I don't have to show you anything. And I've talked to you. Is this on? >> It is. >> Great. Yeah, I've talked to you. >> I'm going to be out with a 13P at the beach end of First South. Can I get 94? >> Yeah, I'm listening. >> Well, I listen. I'm a cop. >> Okay. >> Private citizen. >> Okay. You understand? So, shut up while I'm talking. >> Okay, man. Well, you don't got to say shut up, right? I'm having a professional adult conversation. >> Make a citizen's arrest right now if you harass this guy. Hey, do me a favor. Just stand over there for me. All right. >> All right. Now, I've told you once before. >> Step over here. >> Actually, many times. Tell me what to do. >> Step over here. >> No. All right. >> Now, listen. My ID and everything I own is in Miami is stolen by a meter. >> I apologize. First, north. >> Stolen by a meter maid and a tow company called Beach Towing. >> Okay. >> Now, they have my driver's license, my social security card, my birth certificate. Okay. >> Everything else that I own, but I'm able to trade psychically. So, I own everything here. I even own this guy. So, if you guys want to haul me in for questioning about my cart that I've already talked about many times, it's a beach cart. >> Okay? >> It's a beach cart. You can approach Publix if they decide they want to press charges against me for owning Publix and having my own beach cart. >> Let me know. Otherwise, I'm going to walk away right now and just >> Well, no, you're not going to walk away. You're not allowed to walk away. >> Going to do about it. >> All right. You're not allowed to walk away. >> What are you going to do about it? >> All right. You're going to taste something. >> Get down on the ground right now. >> Get down on the ground. Get down on your knees right now. >> Absolutely not. >> All right. >> Absolutely not. >> Get down on your knees like I've asked you to do. >> You have no probable cause. >> I tried to do this the easy way. We'll do it the hard way. >> All right. All right. Now, get down on the ground. >> You I'm not getting >> All right. You are getting Don't touch me. You're assaulting me. >> All right. You're under ground. You're under arrest. Assaulting you. You're under arrest. >> All right. >> I'm arresting you right now as a private citizen. You're under arrest. >> 16. I'm going to have a male detain. >> I'll know everything about you by the end of the day. No probable cause to arrest me. You have no right to put handcuffs on me. No reason to put me in cuffs. >> I sure do. >> You're going to have to put your gloves on. What are you going to do? Check. You're going to shove your hands up my ass. What's the gloves for, mother? All right, sir. >> Right here. You're like over with, >> sir. Don't touch me. >> All right, sir. I am Officer Stanley, Koker Beach Police Department. >> Who you are? >> I stopped out with you because I had reasonable suspicion that you were in possession of a stolen shopping cart. >> You have absolutely >> That is a legal Florida state statute. >> You I stopped out with you >> Publix every morning. I own Publix. I recognize the guy being arrestiously uttered. >> Things would have been much easier if he had complied with the cops, but from the look of things, he appeared like the [music] kind of guy whose sense of logic was inferior to his arrogance. At the moment, there was a chance he would probably find a way to salvage the situation or mitigate the consequences of his actions. But his fragile ego still would not allow it. You are going to tell me what your ID is or we're going to have additional charges for resisting and failure to ID. All right. Are you going to give me your ID, sir? Let's take him back to the PD and see about get we'll search him when we get to my car. He may have his wallet. If not, we'll get rapid ID intel. Do we know who he is? Have we field interviewed him before? >> I don't think so. >> I have you and Strange been out with him? >> I have not. No, sir. >> All right. All right. Good deal. Let's take him to the car. All right. We'll search him there. I tried to do this the easy way, sir, but you decided to do it the hard way. Shut >> the up. You watch too much movies. >> Well, you that that the first thing you've said that is correct. >> Hey, my cart and all my personal belongings right over there. I want my stuff. >> Well, first of all, we're going to get your stuff. Second of all, I'm going to return the shopping cart back to public. So, that's going to that's going to happen. That's >> I want all my stuff. >> We're not worried about that. >> Don't touch me. >> All right. I am gonna touch you and you are gonna let me touch you. >> I am gonna play this game for you. >> GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME RIGHT THE NOW. >> You're me, mother. >> I TOLD YOU. GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME. >> YOU CAN keep piece of >> You can do this the easy way or THE >> YOU YOU'RE BREAKING MY RIGHTS. I'M A PRIVATE CITIZEN, MOTHER. I'm a Navy Seal. You're >> I thought you're a Navy Seal. >> I'm a cop. Aren't we? >> That you're that too. >> Sir, I'm trying to be nice. >> All right, I'm not going to say another word to you. Let me switch sides real quick. >> We'll get all this jewelry OFF WHEN WE GET >> EASY, MAN. >> Do not turn toward me, mother. >> Hey, calm down. You >> get the off screaming. >> What are you gay? >> Screaming >> mother down. >> Relax. >> All right. Spread your feet for me, sir. Wallet on him. >> GET OFF MY BALLS. >> ALL RIGHT. IN THE car we go. >> Stupid [ __ ] >> Can I get you to grab that cart and wheel it to me over here? It's It's See the bushes? See the white beach parking sign? >> How you doing, partner? >> My name is Sergeant Cooper. I'm the shift supervisor. Are you okay? Do you need any medical attention? Are you going to answer any questions? I just want to make sure that you're all right. Okay. Liar. God damn you. bear false witness [music] against Jesus, you know what comes after. So, as long as you understand that, I don't have a problem with it. >> Just trying to do my job, man. You won't tell me who you are. So, I'm just having >> You're [ __ ] idiot. You shouldn't have this job. I'll make sure you lose it. I'll do everything for [music] the rest of my life to make sure you lose every single thing you have. You have my worth. You have my worth on that. >> In the end, he [music] was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest, and possession of stolen property. Our next case takes us to Cook County involving Cook County politician Samantha Steel, an elected official who thought being a politician meant that she could get away with DUI. >> You don't want that. >> I'm an elected official. >> I actually do. >> Elected official of what? >> Cook County. >> Cook County. >> I don't want this video. >> Oh, you are on video. You are on video. Are you going to do field sobriety test or no? >> No. >> Okay. >> No. Are you arrested? You say no. I was waiting for that. I was waiting for that. >> On the 10th of November 2024, police officers responded to a vehicular crash. The driver in question crashed [music] her Dodge Charger into a parked Subaru Forester while making a wide [music] U-turn. Officers on duty responded to the crash scene, but things started to take a complicated turn when the cops noticed an open bottle of wine on the passenger seat, [music] indicating that the politician was intoxicated. Despite her infractions, the woman chose to become arrogant due to some mistaken [music] belief that she would face no consequences for her actions. >> She say she knows you. She say you texted her. >> She's my friend. >> Okay, so exit the vehicle. >> No, I'm not leaving the vehicle. >> Ma'am, if you don't exit the vehicle, if you don't exit the vehicle, >> I'm going to help you to exit. And you don't want that. >> You don't want that. >> I elected official. >> I actually do. Elected official of what? >> Cook County. >> Cook County. You elected? What? Which which which office? >> What's your name? >> I'm Sam. >> Sam who? >> Hey S. Is it okay for her friend tells her to walk out and step out? >> Oh, she's saying she's an elected official of Cook County. >> I don't want to be on the video. >> Oh, you are on video. >> You are on video. >> You are on video. >> Video. No spam. So, you need to >> I'll wait for my attorney. >> Ordinarily, it would have saved everyone involved a lot of stress if she had complied with lawful orders. But because she felt superior to the officers, she chose to defy their instructions. While they were trying to be patient with her, it would soon become necessary to teach her that being an elected official didn't come with a ticket to disobey the same laws that got her into office. >> Ma'am, okay, here's the thing. You were involved in an accident, correct? >> So, you're going to have to exit. If you don't exit, then we're going to make you exit. >> Accident that car. >> Can you give her action? >> I think you should do that. >> That's all you have to do. >> That's the attorney. That's all you have to exit. >> That's >> okay. Exit. >> You need to get out of the car. >> Yes. Do that. That's all you got to do. And then wait for me. I'll be there in 10 minutes. >> I'm waiting for him. >> Yeah. Hey, you got to come out of the car exit. >> Be careful in traffic. Stay right here. Right here. Don't watch this. Go out to the exit. Okay. >> Fine. >> Now you can hang up the phone, ma'am. >> No. >> We're still doing our investigation. >> Attorney. >> Okay. Now, tell your attorney since he's on the phone. Are you going to do field sobriety test or no? >> No. >> Okay. >> No. >> Are you being arrested? You say no. I was waiting for that. I was waiting for that. >> We waiting for that to rest >> because she refused. I asked her to do field sobriety test and she refused >> and she smelled like alcohol. She's been drinking. We just been Oh, you've been recorded all this time. You've been recording. >> Yeah. >> In the end, Samantha Steel was charged with DUI. Speaking of people in power feeling like they're above the law, here's the case of former Penllis County Deputy Sheriff Shelby Elise Coniglio, who wanted to strongly believe that being a deputy meant that she could risk the lives of others by driving a vehicle while heavily intoxicated without serious repercussions. >> I'm a scary deputy. >> Okay. >> Well, I'm a deputy, but that's why I'm asking. Do you have any weapons on you? >> I live right there. On May the 17th, 2022, an officer on patrol [music] duty observed a vehicle being driven in a manner that indicated possible impairment. Upon pulling the vehicle over, the officer was surprised to find out that the Iring [music] driver was none other than the Penllis County Deputy Sheriff Shelby Elise Kiglio, a woman who was supposed to know better than to break the law. However, it wasn't the expectation that she should have served as a role model for others that would eventually cause problems, but rather her attempts to leverage the power of her office to avoid accountability that would soon become the source of contention. >> Hey, driver registration proof insurance. >> I'm a county deputy. >> Okay. >> And my driver's license, >> huh? I'm a Pelis County deputy. >> Okay. Do you have your license registration? >> No. You don't. Do you have your ID on you? >> Um. >> Uhhuh. Do you have any weapons on you? >> No. >> Okay. >> Well, I'm a deputy, but >> that's why I'm asking. Do you have any weapons on you? >> I live right there. >> Okay. I would normally, but >> Okay. Do you have your some kind of ID or anything on you? >> My ID is not here, but I'm a Penel County. >> Okay. Do you have some kind of ID on you? I was just driving that way. I dropped my friend off and then I went this way because my I live right there. >> I get that. But I pulled you over cuz you were flying past everybody and you were cut. >> No, I was just driving. >> Okay. When I was telling me at this point you were going like 56 and a 40. You were flying. >> No, I was not flying. I was just >> Do you have your registration with your name on it or anything? >> Well, this car is not mine. So, >> okay. Do you have anything with your name on it? Is that your driver's license right there? >> It's my driver's license and my um >> Can I see your driver's license? >> Sure. >> Do you have your uh work ID? >> No, it's at home in my cruiser. >> Okay. Where do you live at? >> I live at Okay. >> Is it not the address in your license? >> No. Okay. really freaky. >> Whose car is this? >> My father's. >> Give me a second. We'll be right back. >> From the first encounter with the deputy, one thing was pretty obvious to any officer around. She didn't want to take responsibility for her actions. Had she been given a choice, she would have just walked away in the euphoria of having utilized her office and getting away with an offense she would have otherwise paid for. >> Hi. >> So sorry. >> You're fine. >> I put the wrong one. >> How are you? >> Hey, how are you? Good. >> Yeah. >> What's going on tonight? >> Um, I don't I have no idea. I'm trying to get home. >> Oh, okay. Do you know why she pulled you over? >> Uh, she said because I'm driving too fast. >> Oh, okay. >> But I'm a Penelis County deputy and I'm just trying to get to my house which is right there. >> Gotcha. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. How long you been with us? >> 5 years. Gotcha. >> Is that a problem? >> No, absolutely not. >> Just trying to >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Whatever she wants to do. >> Yeah. I don't know what she's doing uh right now, but I'm just going to stand by with you until she figures out what she wants to do. >> You want me to get out? >> No. No, you're fine. >> No, you're good. >> I'm good. Like you don't have to step out right now. >> Well, there's like five people now. >> She said you're a deputy. >> Yes. >> Dallas County Sheriff's Office. >> Oh, you're with us all. Nice. How long you been with them? That's >> 5 years. 5 years. >> I mean, I could get out. I could get in. I mean, you could come in. >> No, no, you're good right now. >> Listen, I'm just trying to I'm just I don't know. Whatever you guys want to do. Whatever it is. >> I live at that light right there. Gotcha. >> So, if you want to hang out, if you don't want to hang out, >> where are you coming from? >> Uh, not even long. Um, you know, Gandandy Boulevard, I picked up a picked up someone, brought them over to their house, and then I was going back to my house. >> Gotcha. >> Because I am just living my life. >> I got you. >> And they actually live with Penelis. And so, I was like, "Oh, I'll bring you home." >> I got you. >> Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Easy. >> Unfortunately for her, the deputy card did not look like it was working for the officers. But just when it started looking like all hope was lost, she saw a string that she could pull. One that could potentially turn things in her favor. And Paul, [music] she did. >> Espanol. But >> where from? >> Wait. >> H. Say you're Spanish. >> Yeah. You say you say where. >> Mhm. >> Honey, you know I speak you speak a Spanish. Ah, peru. >> Ah, okay. I'm Dominican. >> Dominican. Oh, no. No. [laughter] No. >> No. >> What's wrong with that? >> Italiano. Okay. And I only speak a some Spanish. Okay. >> For the most part, italiano, but >> she pulled me over. I do what I want. >> I got you. >> But you're St. Pete, so it doesn't matter. Are you um like in special unit with the SO or just a >> No, a patrol. >> Gotcha. >> Only patrol. >> Gotcha. >> So I What? Is she new? >> Who? Her? No. >> No. >> No. >> She's been on probably about the same amount of time as you. >> 5 years. She's been on 5 years and it's taking this long. >> She was just making a phone call. >> To who? >> I'm here with you. I don't know. >> She's coming now. >> All righty. Go ahead. Step out of the car for me a second. We're just going to talk over there. Okay. >> Can you tell your friend? We're going to come over here. This route of the road. Can we step over here? Can we Are you Can you walk over? Are you able to walk over here? >> Yeah. In the >> Well, no. I just want to get on the sidewalk. Oh, that's all right. All right. Talking to you. doing? I'm getting some signs of impairment. Okay. Can I check your eyes real quick? >> This was a critical moment for the deputy and she knew it. Although she knew that she was impaired, giving the officer enough proof of her impairment was not in her scheme of things. At least not when these cops were not willing to give her any concessions or grant her any special privileges. >> Really? >> All right. I want I'm I want to give you every chance to say that you're fine. Okay. So, can I check your eyes real quick? >> This is what we're going to do right now. >> I I don't have a choice. >> You don't have a choice? >> No. >> And you pulled me over for going 10 miles over the speed limit. >> You were going more than 10 miles over the speed limit. And it's not just speed, it's also how you were driving. Look, >> 10 miles over the speed limit. >> I'm not going to argue with you. I mean, unfortunately, we're past that point. You understand my position. >> All right. I want to give you every opportunity for you to show me that you're okay to drive. And I really hope that that's the results that we get. Okay? But at this point, I can't just look the other way. >> That's where you're at right now? Yeah. >> Can I check your eyes real quick? >> This is how you're doing it. >> Really? >> Yeah. >> I don't have a choice. It's safe for anybody else. >> No. Yes, you [music] do. >> I can't treat anybody any differently. >> Yes, you would. >> No, I >> I wasn't in other people's lanes. >> Okay. I'm not going to argue about that. There's dash cam video and all of that. Okay. But we're past that point right now. The point is you were stopped. You're showing signs of impairment. I want you >> No, I'm not showing. >> Okay. All right. I want to give you every opportunity to show >> I I want to ask >> what signs of impairment was I showing. >> You've got bloodshot, watery eyes. You have slow speech. >> Nope. I want to know. >> Okay. >> Pulling over. Pulling over. What was the signs of impairment? because I do not have bloodshot watery eyes because I have contact lenses in my eyes. >> Okay. >> I have contact lenses in. >> I'm not trying to argue with you. Okay. I want I'm hoping that you can show me that you're that you're okay to dry. Okay. But I have to go forward with this. I have to at least invest. >> No, I just want to know. >> I explained to you you smell very strongly of alcohol. Your movements have been very slow and fumbling. You have a very dazed facial expression. All these are signs of of impairment. Okay. Again, if you're good to drive, perfect. But that's I have to I have to investigate that. >> No, you have to go over it again. Okay. I am showing what exactly? >> You have bloodshot watery eyes. You have slurred speech. You have a strong >> But I'm wearing contact lenses. >> Okay. You have a strong odor of alcohol coming from your breath. >> But I'm wearing I have Okay. All right. As I said, I'm just conducting investigation at this point. I want to give you every opportunity. You're saying that you're that you're fine. I want to give you every opportunity to show me that. >> There is no way in hell. No way in hell. >> Okay. Can I check your eyes real quick? Just make sure that you're okay. >> You're going to check it? No. >> Are you I want to give you some opportunity to participate in some field sobriety tests. Is that something you'd be willing to do? And if I wasn't willing to do that, >> look, I want you to get I want to give you every opportunity to show me that you're okay to drive. >> So, you're saying that if I'm not willing to do what you're telling me to, [music] I'm apparently I'm saying I'm getting signs of impairment. Where? Where? >> I I explained it to you already. Okay. >> No. Say it again. >> I've explained it to you multiple times. >> You You said that, but it's [music] not impairment. >> Okay. Well, if you if you tell me you're not impaired, that great. I want you [music] to give me I want every show me that I'm impaired. >> Okay. Can I check your eyes real quick? >> And then what after that? If you're going to check my eyes, what after that? >> It depends what I see in your eyes. >> Okay. Okay. So, it depends on what you're seeing my eyes, [music] but after that, it doesn't mean anything. >> It's just one step at a time. Right now, I just want to check your eyes. >> No, I don't I don't want to see in my eyes. I want to see [music] after that. >> For a woman who was supposed to know better by refusing to take any sobriety tests or allow a physical examination, the deputy was showing a great level of disregard for the same law she swore an oath to uphold. At this point, all she was trying to do was stall and subtly try to bully the investigating officer into submission. [music] There was a power play between a junior officer who had respected the sanctity of the oath of [music] her office and her superior with a great disregard to the law. >> It's a building process. Okay. It's not a one test determines everything. >> Test. >> Can I check your eyes real quick? >> Sure. Okay. Do you Are you wearing contacts right now? Can you see? >> I am wearing contact lenses and I cannot take them out. >> That's fine. You don't do you have blindness in either eye? >> I don't know. >> I mean, can you see the this light? >> Yeah. >> Okay. All I need to do is just stay on your feet together and arms down at your sides. >> So, what I'm going to do is follow this red light with your eyes. Oh, purple. >> That is light with your eyes. Don't care. >> That is >> okay. What I'm going have you do is follow it with your eyes and your eyes only. I don't want you to move your head at all. Okay. At this time, I want to give you the opportunity to participate in two more field sobriety tests. Is that something you'd be willing to do? >> You think that I'm impaired right now? >> I said >> after eyes. >> So, in in the eyes, >> you're showing signs of impairment. I want to give you every opportunity to show me that you're okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, again, there's two additional tests. the walk and turn and the one light stand. Is that something? >> I'll do all of the tests. >> Okay, perfect. Um, hang out with him. We'll be right back with you. >> What? Um, what's it called? What uh >> I'm a deputy. >> Yeah. Yeah, I know. What's the uh what's your like like do you work nights? Do you work days? >> I work nights. >> I don't know how how you guys do it. You guys do what? Like left and right? >> 12 hours. >> I know you do 12 hours. So, in the sense of being a deputy >> with her doing this, what are what are your thoughts? >> What do you mean >> in in the fact of me acing this or not? It doesn't matter, right? >> No, I mean that's that's the point of this, right? If you're you don't show signs of impairment while you do it, it's better for you. That's why we give you that option. >> I'm still going to be perfect for this. There you go. >> All right, we're going to step over here. >> Eventually, the deputy reluctantly consented [music] to a field sobriety test, and at that moment, her fears began to come to pass. [music] Having failed the sobriety test, she could no longer argue or conceal the fact that she was intoxicated. To get more details from her, the investigating officers decided to ask further questions. At this point, one would expect her to be honest with the cops, especially when it was no longer necessary to [music] tell lies. However, for some reason, it seems like all she told the officers was a series of halfbaked [music] truths. >> Having them in mind, do you want to talk to me now? >> Sure. Okay. So, where are you coming from tonight? >> I am coming from downtown. >> Okay. >> What time do you go go downtown? >> I went downtown at about 700 p.m. >> Okay. Um, do you come from your place? >> Yeah, I live at [music] Wells eating meat. >> Okay. Um, put my shoes on. >> Yeah. So, in your downtown, what where'd you go down to downtown? >> Uh multiple places. >> Uhhuh. >> Any um place where you can buy like like light like light pieces for your apartment. >> Okay. >> You know, you know what I'm talking about. >> Do you remember what it's called? >> I don't remember. Okay. But you can buy a couple pieces. >> Where else did you go? >> Do you remember a couple pieces of what you're saying? >> Like like pictures. >> Okay. >> For apartment complexes. >> Okay. >> Like lamps. >> Yeah, lamps. Lamps. Um there were a lot of dogs there. Remember Alpha? No, we were just trying to piece furniture together. >> Um, what time is it right now? Without looking, if you had to guess. >> Uh, 12:00. >> Um, how much do you have to drink while you were down there? >> I didn't have anything to drink. >> Okay, here's the thing. We both know you've been drinking. Okay. By telling us complete lies, like I know that you're not being honest, okay? So, I know you had something. Do you remember where you had drinks? How much did you have? >> Okay. So, why do you smell like alcohol? >> I do not smell like alcohol. I smell like pigment. >> That's not pigment. That's very strong alcohol. >> Yeah. I mean, you're a deputy. You know, okay, that's caused by alcohol. So, how much do you have to drink? Nothing. You don't want to be honest with me? Anybody All right. You got nothing on you? No. >> No pockets in here. Nothing up in your bra. >> You want >> Huh? keep those rings on. Um, >> do you want those in the car or do you want >> Is there anything you want from the car? a cell phone or anything? >> Sure. >> What? Like just your cell phone? >> Do you have anything else you want? >> Um, my wallet. >> Where is that? >> It should be in the passenger seat. >> Just that. Just your wallet in your home. >> Yeah. In the end, the deputy was charged with careless driving and driving [music] under the influence. She was eventually fired. While the deputy sheriff was in law enforcement herself, she was not like the next guy who for some reason thought that he was untouchable because his son was an FBI agent after crashing into another vehicle from being too drunk. >> Any problem? >> Yeah. Here. You want to stop up? Hop out for me? >> No. You're going to arrest me here? >> Okay, go ahead. Be careful because uh sometimes I am uh my son working from FBI name. >> You want to me? >> No, sir. >> We just want your name. >> All right. Do me a favor. Turn around. >> No. No. No. No. Turn around. >> No. We're down here. >> On August the 24th, 2022, some police officers were dispatched to a scene following a vehicular crash. An elderly man had crashed into another vehicle and refused to acknowledge his fault. Drove off shortly afterward. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers met with the woman who gave them a little insight into how the crash occurred. >> Hey. Hi. Where's the other car? >> This is how car was. But listen, >> if you give us any more troubles or you start disrupting serving me this exclusion, we're going to take you to jail. Is that clear? >> Okay. >> Okay, perfect. >> This is a notice of exclusion. >> You are excluded from the Clark County Fairgrounds. Here's the address. This is your information right here. >> Yeah. >> Right. This is when you've been served with this thing. Right. Because you're handcuffed, we're not going to have you sign it. The reason for your exclusion. And here's how you can appeal the exclusion if you want that to be lifted. It's a really down and dirty way, but does that make sense to you? >> Yeah. By law, you don't need to be, but if you would like to be, I'd be happy to do that. >> No. I think it's >> all right. We're going to get the AC going for you, man. >> Good to go. In the end, James Heap was not charged due to the lack of evidence. Sometimes, it's not just those in power who feel invincible. Their children may also feel untouchable because of their parents' status. This was the case with a young woman who caused a scene at an airport, thinking she could escape consequences due to her father being a senior police officer. >> I don't want to touch me. >> I said I don't want him touching me. >> I don't feel comfortable. Well, then >> I don't want you touching me. I really want your hands off of me. I'm going to go to Frontier for you. >> And you you swear you didn't have anything to drink today. >> You're fine. But there has to be a reason for them to have kicked you off the plane. So just be honest. Just be honest. >> Thanks to me. >> Yeah, let's just go here. Just be honest. >> Did you have anything to drink? >> Is that against the law? >> No, that's a lawyer. This is annoying. It's an inconvenience. >> Is your address on your license, correct? >> Call my lawyer about that. Don't touch my [ __ ] >> Don't put it in your bag. >> No. >> Her aggression was triggered because she didn't want an officer touching her. >> No knives, no weapons. >> No, no. I feel like it was like >> he's just holding your leg. >> No. No. The fact that I wasn't even arrested. I feel like I'm not like it wasn't in the right. I was directly behind you. >> Dealing with you right now. >> Can you please step over here? >> I'm not going to. >> What is the reason you're you're so against what I'm doing? I'm doing my job. You say you're a DA? >> I am the DA. >> Okay. >> Okay. Let me get you my badge. I am the DA in of >> I just don't understand the hostility towards me. I'm doing my job. >> No, you're being an [ __ ] How am I being an >> I am the VDA in Monroe County. >> I understand that. But that doesn't give you a right to go 55 and a 35. >> And you even admitted to me that you went 50. I understand that, ma'am. I understand that. >> I don't You know what? If you give me a traffic ticket, that's fine. I'm the one who prosecutes it. Okay, just go ahead. >> She literally claimed to be above the law, which showed the epidome of her privilege. Her entitlement was so staggering that she didn't even pretend to consider herself equal. >> I just don't understand the hostility. I understand you're coming home from work. >> And half the time I was on the phone with Dennis telling him, "Why are you pulling me over?" >> You're not even supposed to be on the phone to begin with. You should know that. >> Oh. Oh. Oh. I'm handsree. Absolutely. You should know the law. >> Okay. If it is handsree, that's great. But at the end of the day, you're going 55 and a 35. That's 20 miles over the speed limit. >> Okay. You know what? That's fine. You know what I've been dealing with all day? Three in the city. And do you think I really care if I was going 20 m over the speed limit? >> Hey, I'm just doing my job. If you pulled If you pulled over when you saw my lights, which obviously you did? >> I thought you were going somewhere else because I thought no one would ever pull a a black SUV if you ran my plates. >> I didn't run your plate. I just called your plate out and then I'm following you because you're not stopping. >> She said no one would pull over my car if you ran my plate. She believed she was above the law and could break it, which is exactly what she did. She knew she wouldn't get into trouble for it, which was very >> Just come outside over here. >> No, I'm not going outside. >> Okay. >> I'm waiting for you just to leave. >> Well, I'm having a supervisor come cuz that's what my chief told me to do. >> Yeah. This is >> Do you have your driver's license? >> I just showed you my driver's license. >> You show me your You showed me your badge. >> She's She's a DA. >> Yep. I know. >> And I was just trying to pull into my driveway. I was on the phone with Dennis Colemire saying, "Would you please tell the person who's following me that I'm almost home?" >> Ma'am, I understand you were going home, but I started my lights back at Phillips Road. Hey, >> I'm on Phillips Road again. And there are other cars. >> I was right behind you. Directly behind you. At >> at the end go ahead like you want at the end of the day. Go ahead if you want to write me a traffic ticket. >> Okay. At the end of the day >> at the end of the day I was stopping you for speed. If you just stop bad day I've been dealing with >> I get it and I get it. We have bad days also ma'am. >> Sorry. I'm sorry. >> We have bad days also. >> I'm going to just add it to the job real quick. So now supervisor's on his way and then we'll go from there. >> Supervisor's coming up here. >> Huh? Who? >> Sergeant Johnson. >> I understand you had like I get it. I We all have bad days at work. >> And I'm going to go in the house. Seriously, this is ridiculous. >> No, this is a traffic stop and I'm you out of everyone should know that if there's a legal traffic stop, which I have, I have the right to detain you until this is done. >> Then just write me the ticket. I really don't care. >> Okay. Well, then just hang out at the back of the car >> because I'm the one that's going to prosecute myself. >> You know what I'll do with the ticket? >> Okay. >> It was absolutely disgusting to hear her say she would prosecute herself while laughing. It said everything about her. She continued to show her power. >> Just come out here for me and just stand >> walking out there. I'm not. I'm not. Hey, baby. You ready? Cory, you just want to stand up here. >> Yeah, as long as it's added to the job. >> Sergeant on his way. >> You said 10 time four. >> Okay. >> I was speeding for He turned around. I didn't know if it was me. I wasn't sure because there were other cars going back and forth that I got to turn into the field press. I'm like, I'm just going to drive home. That's what I did. So, getting and I got on the phone. I don't know even before I turned when I turned in and said, you know, it's me that they're stopping. Just tell them it's me. >> So, I don't think that's general rule of thumb. >> 942. >> There other cars. >> I'm just going to pull in. >> You happy to >> I would advise against that. I mean, you're supposed to pull off to the side of the road if somebody with their emergency lights is coming behind you anyways. >> Yeah. I just >> Cory, it's fine. Just >> we're having supervisors come and then we'll go from there. >> Oh, come on. Just >> This is what my chief wants. That's at the end of the day. You called him. I spoke to him on your phone and this is what he wants. >> Again, seriously like neighbors. Seriously, there's three officers here. Ready? >> You guys can go. You guys go. I'll wait here with wait for Sergeant LT. Sounds like LT is coming though. >> All I think is I was going 20 mph over the speed limit Phillips. I didn't pull over. I just figured I'd drive to my driveway. He should have run the plate. It's a big black SUV. It's a big black SUV. >> She was going 55 and 35 on Phillips. She didn't stop at all. She decided to drive home, called the chief, and this is where we're at. >> She's admitted multiple times to me. >> So, I attempted to stop her on Phillips Road. >> Yeah. >> Going 55 and a 35. >> Yeah. >> Didn't see the plate. I was just keeping an eye on the vehicle because she wasn't stopping. Drove all the way here, >> pulled into her garage, got out, was just being aggressive towards me for no reason. I was being respectful telling her this is a legal traffic stop. Come to the back of the vehicle. No. So she called chief then that's why I requested a supervisor. Okay. >> And now she was wanted to go inside told her no you can't go inside and this is where we're at. So >> while the lieutenant and supervisor talked with her inside the garage it didn't seem like it would affect [snorts] her or the charge she had committed. >> You should know that's not an arrest. You know 717 I got nothing ID. >> I gave it back to her. It's attached to the job and everything. I didn't want to stop because I was already down the street. I figured I would just stop in my fig I thought it would be easier. I'm still rolling. So, >> yeah. Do you um >> I mean, it's your traffic stop. I'm not going to tell you how to handle it. >> Yeah. I explained to her. I mean, she knew she knew exactly that she was going 55 and a 20 or a 35. She even called the chief. So, it's like I you know, like I Like I I don't care just writing her the speeding ticket and being done with it, but technically it's a restable fence that she didn't stop. >> What's all set? Make contact over the phone. Accidental call. >> What's the deal? You got >> ticket. What are you going to do? >> I mean, it's your stop. I'm not going to interfere with that. >> Yeah. >> She came home. I mean, obviously, if I >> makes no sense. I explained that to her. Makes no sense to >> She came home. She failed the stop. I mean, it's arrestable offense. I'm not trying to arrest the DA of the county, but also I want I don't want to not do my job and not at least write or something. So, >> I get it. And I'm not like I said, I'm not going to >> I'll at least render the freaking going 55 and a 20. >> Okay. At the end of the day, I got discretion whether or not. >> No, I get it. I understand. >> So, >> hello There should have been an investigation. She made the whole department look corrupt from the chief down to the rest using her privilege. The only reason she was given leniency was her position as DA, which she and both the chief and supervisor let her get away with it. >> All right, ma'am. So, I'm issuing you speed in zone 55 and a 35. >> I'll take care of this. So, I'll be prosecuting myself. >> Okay. At the end of the day, if you see my lights and sirens behind you and obviously they're going off, just pull over. We can have a conversation and be on our way. I kept my eye on your vehicle. I'm not going to check my computer to see what plate it is. If a vehicle is not stopping for me, I want to keep my eyes on that vehicle for my safety so I can hold it at the end of the day. Okay. I I I'm sorry that you had a bad day >> and I'm sorry it went this way, but >> I do respect what you do. Have a good day, man. >> The whole I'll be prosecuting myself thing was problematic. She mocked everyone present, implying she could make the charges disappear. She had no business exercising any kind of authority. It seemed the officer was intimidated by her. She should have been taken to jail for evading arrest instead of just [music] receiving a ticket. In the end, the suspect was issued a ticket for speeding.
