health transport run
i like showing these kind of runs uh
because it's something that the public
doesn't really get to see very often
it's also one of the topics that has the
most misinformation
that's put out in the public about how
officers respond
to runs involving people with uh mental
health issues
so in this one you'll see the officers
respond
with an officer who is ci cit trained
those are our crisis intervention team
guys
so you'll get to see how they interact
with the person i
can see the questions that they ask her
how they evaluate the situation
and how they come to decisions on
whether or not
she's going to go into treatment or if
they're going to have to
force her into treatment and i'll go
ahead and let you know that this is
going to be one of those situations
where
the person doesn't want to go to
treatment but based on
the observations of the officers who
responded they decide that she has to go
so they place her in handcuffs and have
to take her to treatment
