let's break down this shooting like I said in the beginning of this video it's a pretty tragic incident where five people were killed and nine others were injured a 25-year-old man walked into this Bank where he was employed in open fire on the other employees these videos are not too fun to watch especially when I make these I have to watch them over and over to write my scripts especially when there's an officer down like we're about to see but the training coming out of something like this is completely invaluable to veteran or new officers alive especially training for responding to an active shooter situation Louisville Kentucky April 10th 2023 911 received several calls from any different people and let me warn you right now these are hard to listen to you got to remember this is the worst time of the caller's life police released over an hour and a half of 911 audio but I'm only going to play some of the more substantial calls so you can see how well these 911 operators did under such pressure and so you can see the info that was relayed to the police caller number one is in a video meeting with the Old National Branch when the shooter opened fire she watched it all through her computer screen from a different location 911 operator Davis what is the address of the emergency um um oh my God what's the address to Preston Bo oh my God there's an active shooter there information to the operator1 operator Frost where's your emergency hi I'm at 333 East Main Street we have an active shooter 333 East Main Street yes Louisville Kentucky we have an active shooter okay shirt and dark pants caller 3 was and I can't blame him 911 operator Toby where is your emergency uh I'm at 333 East Main Street we have an active shooter in our description of the person white male first name he's an employee of Old National Bank get here now we need somebody what color okay what color shirt is he wearing what color shirt did he have on white I don't know white I think he's a tall guy probably six probably Flor do we know where in the building first floor do we know where on the first floor that he is now we don't okay stop yelling sir they're already on their way do we know how many people you [ __ ] answer they had already people have already been calling the rest of the callers are along the same lines they're saying hey there's a guy here he's shooting people it's an active shooter situation except for caller number five caller number five was the shooter's mother the shooter's roommate had found a note left behind by the shooter saying what he was going to do so the roommate called called the mom and the mom is relaying that information to police my um I my son might be have a gun and he's heading toward the Old National at uh on Main Street here in Louisville Main Street Old National yes and this is his mother I'm so sorry I'm getting details second hand I'm learning now oh my Lord okay and what exactly is going on with him what what what is he saying he's doing I I don't know I'm getting this information from his roommate he apparently left the not I think he's on and I think he's beside he's he's just just not yes hurry shut the door lock the door and come here I I don't know what to do I need your help I I think he he's never heard once a really good kid please don't come in okay he said he was headed to the Old National Bank did he say what he was going to do there I don't know I don't know anything unfortunately she was already too late and the shooter had already open fire the call was relayed to police and the first two officers on scene were officer Cory Galloway and his train officer Nicholas Wilt one thing that this incident and the incident that happened in Nashville have in common is that there were some absolute studs very very close to the shooting active shooter training for police is go go go go go you don't wait for backup even if you're alone you get in there and you try to stop the shooter as quick as you can it's easier to say than to do and these officers in this video [ __ ] did at 8:38 officers were dispatched to the bank at 8:41 officers arrived on scene and heard gunshots then about 20 seconds later as officers ran towards the bank the suspect open fire the first body camera that we're going to take a look at is Officer Wilt officer Wilt had only been out of the police academy for 10 days this was his fourth shift as a police officer all right pull up pull up pull pull pull up pull pull up pull up pull up pull up pull up go go go go go go stop stop right here back up back up back up back up get me up here stop right there open the [Music] jum 13 back WR thing we do have sh far make an entry from the uh from the east side of PR the body camera cut out right there because officer Wilt was shot in the head as of right now April 18th officer Wilt is still alive but he is in critical condition you see the shooter had already shot a bunch of people inside and it's one-way glass so the officers can't see what's going on inside and the shooter is just sitting there waiting for responding officers they never saw it coming hold it hold it cover for me 113 Baker we're making entry from the uh from the East side at Prest in Main [Applause] a right now officer Galloway is just looking for an angle because he has no idea where the shooter is other than inside the building he can't go drag out officer Wilt from in front of the window because then we would have two down officers and that helps no one he can't run from cover right now so he just does his best to try and locate the shooter from both sides of his cover the shooter has an angle on that officer we need to get up there I don't know where he's at the glass is blocking him he's shooting straight through these windows right towards the officer we need to be able to Plate somehow to be able to get there and pull him down from the stairs you can see two more officers pull up on the right side side over there and officer Galloway is communicating that he has to find some way to get officer Wilt pulled to safety it's difficult too because it's not like the officers can lay down cover fire so they can go grab officer Wilt and drag him to safety they might hit an innocent person in the building is that is that blue talking yeah blue talking [Applause] God don't have an angle I think I got him down I think he's down yank the off off now yank him down the stairs you can hear the shooter open fire and that's when AAR Galloway puts three wellplay shots right into them I think I got him down I think he's down you did off off now I think I got him down I think he's down I think he's down moving yeah suspect down get the officer hey hey got here hey here huh I know he's down get the [Applause] officer the shooter passed away from his gunshot wounds that's not the only footage there is of that shot too a bystander from across the street captured what was happening I'm glad we have this footage to anal the situation but you probably shouldn't be behind an officer in an active shooter situation if you can help it like the person holding the camera the rookie officer who got shot in the head officer Wilt he was a firefighter before becoming a police officer all he ever wanted to do was help people like I said if you want to contribute to the Louisville Metro Police Foundation there's going to be a link for that in the comments and description below and that is all that I have for you fine people today if you want to help support the channel you can go on over to Donut operator.com and as always please have a fantastic day whacker so
