everybody Alton Bruns was charged Friday
afternoon with three counts of felony
assault and one count of fleeing an
officer attorney say Alton Brun served
in the military and suffers from PTSD
the judge set bail at 100 $1,000 cash
$500,000 Bond Alton Bruns will make his
next court appearance the morning of May
11th in Hutchinson Gordon Severson 11
News police tell us officer sikman is a
31-year veteran of the Hutchinson Police
Department he is home recovering he
suffered heavy bruising on his right arm
and had to have more than half a dozen
metal Staples put into his head

61-year-old Luke elchin Bruns assaulted

him with a hammer officer sikman had to
get eight metal Staples in his head John
shows us what happened inside the
courtroom
today in the early afternoon of April
14th Police said Luke Elin Bruns hit a
Menard's employee multiple times over
the head after the employee asked him to
put on a mask officers then pursued elen
Bruns to an intersection where he
refused to get out of his vehicle and
told them to shoot him when officer
Steven sikman reached inside to grab his
keys elen Bruns closed the window on the
officer's arm and smashed into squad
cars he then hit officer sikman in the
head with a hammer every officer at that
scene would have been testified in
shooting this defendant causing death
but they didn't do so because SE was in
the way this defendant is lucky to be
here today in court elim br's attorney
and wife spoke on his behalf but on the
day of the incident to say that I was
dumbfounded by the reports would be a
total understatement Robie Lin Elin Brun
says her husband suffers from depression
anxiety and PTSD from his time in the
military she called him a loving and
hardworking man who regrets what
happened I know for a fact that Luke
wants help and our family really wants
him to get help in the end judge jod
Winters sentenced elchin Bruns to a year
in jail with credit for time served
along with up to 10 years probation
judge Winters says the fact that elen
Bruns has no prior criminal history
waited her decision but she made it
clear that any violations going forward
would result in extended prison time you
endangered the lives of the
victims officer sikman Mr Anthony
Wagner and potentially your own life in

letters of apologies to the victims if
