On Sunday, September 21st, 2025, deputies from the Mcome County Sheriff's Office were responding to a 911 call reporting a stabbing at a Meer gas station. While on route to the scene, one of the responding units approached an intersection and observed another patrol vehicle ahead slowing down. In an effort to avoid a collision, the deputy swerved to take evasive action, lost control, and traveled through the intersection, striking several street signs before coming to rest in a nearby pond.
