Hey everybody, I'm David Ridings, Nashville DUI attorney, and I wanted to do a quick video on mistakes that you should not make after being arrested for DUI. So, go read all of them. I'm going to give you the just the top few. Number one, I blew over the legal limit, therefore my case is over. I'm guilty. There's nothing that can be done for me. That's a mistake that you should not make. Just because you blow over the legal limit or you give blood or you make mistakes on the field sobriety test, that doesn't mean that you're going to be found guilty of DUI. A DUI attorney can really help you in a lot of ways. So, don't assume that you're just going to be found guilty because you made those mistakes on the scene of the traffic stop. Number two, hiring the first lawyer that promises you a reduction or promises you he can keep you out of jail. If an attorney makes you a promise in return for a fee, you should run away from that attorney. No lawyer is allowed to make a promise in return for a fee of a result. So, I stop way short of that. When when somebody starts asking me, "Can I guarantee them this or guarantee them that?" There's no guarantees in this business. Nothing can be guaranteed in the criminal justice business. And hiring the first lawyer that you talked to. You should interview at least three attorneys. At least three. And ask them what their experience is, get into their background, find out uh how many cases like this they've handled, and and you know, then generally talk about the facts of your case. But, if you're not interviewing at least three attorneys, then you you don't know what's out there. So, don't make those mistakes. There's a list of others. Go on my website and check them out.
