well hey everybody i'm david writings thanks for joining us for another police in the police and live on stand against dark blue i've got a fun show for you tonight only because i promised last week to do it who in the heck is this young whippersnapper right here [Applause] [Music] [Music] hey guys i'm david ridings with police and the police and we are live on stand against dark blue facebook and youtube thanks for joining us for another show this is going to be a short show i know i've said that before and then it ended up being an hour long i was told the other day hey you said it was going to be a short show and you were 57 minutes yeah i get carried away sometimes but this one truly is a short show now i am working on something um for tomorrow's show actually it was supposed to be tonight's show but i didn't get it ready in time it's a lot of footage that i have to go through and it's going to be a really good show i'm going to piece together some new footage that's just recently been released and it's i can't say it's never never before seen but it's seldom before seen and it is basically proving how hsi basically led officer darian jarrett to his death and you'll hear from the attorney for the slain officers family and you'll see some some of the most graphic um dash cam and body cam footage that i've ever seen and certainly that i've ever posted we will be sure to put plenty of warnings and disclaimers up and it's not um some some people won't watch the show and that's okay uh and i will definitely uh give a warning before we play it if you're you know if you're even if you're not squeamish it's it's just one of the most difficult pieces of film that i've ever had to watch and so it's not for everybody that will be on tomorrow night's show and uh i'm sorry i didn't get it ready in time for tonight but it's just a lot and we're we're piecing it together and there's some copyright issues as well too so i'm working on it uh this is gonna be just um a fun little video a blast from the past a throwback monday uh out of straight out of nashville tennessee in the early 90s and yes this is yours truly back in my glory days and i was on about five episodes of the show cops on fox tv so um this is one of those episodes so have fun right now i work central nashville which is the inner city it's pretty high crime and high drug area and oh my god do i still sound like that absolutely i he-hauled the first time i watched this i'm like good lord how country was i and and am i still do i still have that twang um just you know hey angel exciting yes it's going to be good tomorrow uh good evening nice to have you and uh kathy i'm doing well thanks for joining us and i appreciate you watching so let's get back to the show it's just a it's just a country fest where i've been ever since i've been a officer i've been in the inner city developments on midnight just about the whole time and i guess you get kind of used to it just kind of scary in enough you get used to a lot of things that you never thought you'd get used to uh we're going to assist another officer who's in the project area he's probably somebody with a sawed-off shotgun and he's supposed to be chasing him around the area on foot supposed to be two suspects one of them's supposed to have a gun we just went chasing we're gonna chase somebody with a sawed-off shotgun man i was country a little background this is um inner city nashville tennessee when i was a police officer in the early 90s and for those of you just joining us and thank you you love a good twang it's a dwang for sure [Music] this young man was in a lot of trouble in his early uh early in his youth and i had arrested this boy um several times he had actually threatened to kill some police officers and we had an audio recording going on in the in the police car and he was recorded talking about killing police officers and he had a gun hidden in his home and he was a juvenile at that time well somebody had seen this boy out with a shotgun and the other officers were trying to catch him basically and so this is this is what happened at this time no other information though he's got one with a a red baseball cap turn around backwards just to either run from him or trying to dodge him or something and i don't think he's seen him with a shotgun but but he's trying to get away from him for some reason i'm gonna try and pick him up and find out what he knows about it he's gonna be out on lewis let [Music] there he is that's michael hold up mike okay there's glenn there this is the guy that he's trying to find and now watch closely in in the distance up here uh about one o'clock on your screen that's uh glenn ewing a fellow police officer and he's talking to this young man and they get into a fight now you're you're not really going to see it i was like literally one step from tackling this guy because glenn had him tied up in a in a kind of a he had his by the shirt and they were wrangling with each other and and he kind of slipped through and i was almost going to tackle him and then right before i was leaping glenn pushed off and and pushed me out of the way basically and so i missed him and then he took off running and this is the cameraman is well there's two there's there's two people filming there was two people riding with me the cameraman rode in the front seat and there was a microphone guy in the back seat he had a big boom microphone and a little fuzzy thing on it you know and he would run with the microphone and i was mic'd up that's true but during this foot chase in my defense this is not me breathing heavily this is this is the microphone guy nobody believes that but it really truly wasn't me breathe oh he's fighting him he's fighting him give me some cars bathtub lewis running towards the fight coming out on the exit [Music] right there right there now see you can still hear the breathing that really is the microphone guy and i was i was actually already on top of this guy and getting ready to handcuff him so it truly wasn't me nobody believes that [Music] glenn got him over here in the back of where he lives how old are you now michael how do you know i know this happened you step back right now 18 months nothing them now y'all are watching the same thing i'm watching he says i didn't try to fight him they ripped my shirt off of me and come on i mean you know back then we didn't have body cams cops riding with you in the front seat was the closest thing we had to a body cam back in the 90s and nobody was walking around with an hd camera in their pocket either so nobody was out notice nobody around here is holding their phone because we didn't have phones back then actually we did we had just started getting cell phones but you were a wealthy man if you had one and none of us had them so i would like to press he just sounds a lot like eddie murphy to me i would like to press charges i mean you know we know you want to press charges [Music] i was gonna pat him down put his hands behind his back and i got a gun off of him one time a little 22 uh rifle automatic he was walking right here we got him in some stolens one time he made threats now to shoot some some officers and we got that on tapes too this has been uh that's been two two and a half years ago or so when he made those threats he was walking down here towards lewis i think that michael thinks this is a big game and to be arrested and to go to jail and to brag about his record and how many times he's been to jail and how many times he's gotten out this time he's he's being charged with assault and an officer and uh and when i asked him while ago if this was his first trip to the to the adult jail he kind of smiled and said yeah and if he keeps toting around these guns and deciding to fight the police sooner or later he's going to get he's going to get seriously hurt or maybe even killed and and then the game's over and then the game's over oh man that's my only claim to fame my 15 minutes of fame on cops back in the day but anyway i figured y'all have fun with that my boys love watching the old cops episodes um and i promised it actually i titled my friday show cops out of nashville and i couldn't get the video to play on friday so that was supposed to be part of friday's show so i figured i would uh bring it to you monday tomorrow we're gonna have a great show um you're gonna wanna join us it's gonna be in the neighborhood of eight o'clock in the evening uh we go live uh every week night and uh this one's gonna be on the new mexico state trooper darian jarrett who was murdered by a monster that he pulled over and hsi orchestrated the whole thing told jarrett nothing he didn't know anything about the guy that he was pulling over um and it's just a very it's a terrible story about how this poor officer was basically slain by somebody that hsi knew was capable of doing that and yet they didn't tell him um and we're gonna have proof of that on tomorrow's show we're gonna have uh some audio from the attorney for the family of the slain officer and you're gonna see proof that hsi absolutely knew um officer jarrett was pulling over this guy and they were 45 seconds behind him so it's just a it was a terrible terrible um it was a it was terrible tragedy that did not have to happen and shouldn't have happened and hsi's got blood on their hands except yeah i had help catching him uh i don't know that i would have caught him if i had not had help but you know i was much faster back in those days i actually well i just sounds boastful when i say anything else about it but i was much faster than i am today in those days i wonder where he is too i've often wondered that um and i ought to look that up i hope he's doing well and i hope he he prospered and came up out of that lifestyle there's so many um so many people that i arrested back in the day that i will see sometimes now as a lawyer some of them i represent believe that or not and then and some have have gone on to make really uh great decisions and changed their life and so i hope he's done that anyway that's enough reminiscing for one night so listen i'm really grateful for those of you that watch this show and uh and the comment and you ain't seen nothing yet because we're gonna we're gonna bring more and more really good body cam videos to you and we'll break them down and when the cops do something good we're going to shine a light on it and when they do something bad we're going to shine a light on it
