Failing the field sobriety test does not automatically mean you're going to be convicted. There's a lot that we can argue. There's a lot of reasons that you could misstep on a line or put your foot down on a one leg stand that don't have anything to do with impairment. There could be medical issues that you have. Could be related to the weather or the road conditions or fatigue. That's why I say never take them. You cannot be charged with an extra offense for refusing these tests. It's not like the breath tester blood test. These are completely voluntary in every state in the union. So always refuse the field sobriety
