Do you have the right to ask for a supervisor on a traffic stop? You don't have the right under the Constitution to have a supervisor on the scene of this traffic stop, although it doesn't hurt to ask for one. And there are lots of occasions where I would, if I were on the scene with you, say, "Get your supervisor out here." If he's about to make a mistake where he's going to lose qualified immunity, for example, if he threatens your passenger when your passenger doesn't give him an ID. He's not required to have your passenger's ID on a traffic stop, and he may not know that. I would ask for a supervisor in that situation and say, "Sir, we're not required to identify the passengers of a traffic stop, and you should know that. Since you don't know that, I'd like you to get your supervisor out here."
