I think that your buddy has a gun. So, I need you to step in the car. >> You think my buddy has a gun? >> He's acting funny. Step in the car. Please. >> Officer, I >> If you If you don't step in the car, you're going to jail for sure. >> I think your buddy's got a gun. If you don't step in the car, you're going to jail for sure. Oh my god, watch this crazy video. Now, listen, I don't have any evidence that this cop is a racist, but can you find any reason for this stop? We don't get a reason through this whole video for this stop. Can you find a violation of a traffic law, or was this kid stopped because he was driving while black? So, we're at the beginning of this video, and here's our first view of the car. He's at the stop sign. He's about to turn left. The cop's already made the decision to pull him over. So, he turns left here. Maybe it's the blinker, but he doesn't say that. So, we're following behind. He's not weaving. He's not speeding. If it's the blinker, tell us it's the blinker. Tell this kid why you stopped him. All right, he's coming to another stop sign. He makes a complete stop, and he uses his blinker. So, now he's just made the last turn before he gets stopped. Maybe I see a traffic violation for not using your blinker at the first stop sign, but in Tennessee, you would have had to affect the driving of another person for that to be against the law. In most states, that's the law. You can not use your turn signal as long as you don't affect the driving of another. He never tells this kid why he stopped him. See if you can figure out why. Female approaches from the passenger side. Male approaches from the driver side, kind of at a wide angle. >> What's going on, guys? >> Not much. >> Not much. What's up? >> How you doing, officer? >> Is this your car? >> Well, it's a rental right now. My car's in the shop. >> This cop is just trying to make conversation. He doesn't want to tell him the reason for the stop, because I don't think he really has one. But, listen to this kid. >> Okay. >> Did you So, did you break down? >> Yes, sir. >> Got you. You guys just You over at the park, right? >> Yeah, we're just hanging out. >> That's it? That's it? You're just hanging out at the park with your buddy? Or are you doing something illegal? >> Well, that's what we're doing. >> Is this your car? >> I just told you my car is in the shop, officer. This is a rental. >> Okay. I just told you my car is in the shop, officer. This is a rental. Second time he's told him. See if this cop's listening. How do you start it? How do you start it? >> just put my foot on the brake and I put it in drive and I >> Okay. Who So it's your car, though? Did they give you a fob or something? >> Listen, officer. >> Like what does it do? Does it >> You see this this lets this actually lets you know that it's in >> Oh, see now he takes the keys and he puts them on top of the roof. Now I understand why all the stupid repetitive questions. Because he [music] wanted the kid to pull the key fob out so he could take it from him. Cuz otherwise, it would be a search. He can't search the car, he can't search the kid for the keys. Now he could ask the kid to step out of the car, he hadn't done that yet. This bully cop is going to go full bully cop in a minute. But he just wanted the key fob to put it on top of the roof so the kid couldn't drive off. I don't know why he thinks this kid is a flight risk. I don't get any indication from this kid he's a flight risk. And the cop's clearly not listening to the questions he's asking. He's told him three times, "I'm driving a rental." Tell me what this cop is after. I know what he's after. You may not know what he's after, but watch this. You're about to know. Do you have any weapons on you or in the car? >> No, officer. >> Okay, can I be honest with you? It smells like marijuana in the car and I can see shake on the ground. And your buddy's giving me the your buddy's giving me the idea that maybe he's got a gun. >> I'm I'm >> You know what I mean? Like that's what I think. >> How? >> I don't know. Just the way I mean just the way you're holding yourself, man. Like that's why I'm That's why we're nervous, man. That's it. I mean if you're scared cuz you got a little bit of weed, that'll be one thing. >> Officer. >> Okay. If you're scared cuz you got a little bit of weed, that'll be one thing. If I'm the driver of this car, this cop's already told me he's jumpy and he's nervous. And he thinks my buddy's got a gun. Okay, so I'm going to be uber careful with my hands from this point forward. >> There's no weed. >> Okay. >> No shake on the floor. >> Okay, there's there's no shake on the floor? >> No, there's no shake on the floor. >> All right. And you don't have any weapons on you, you said? >> Officer, that is correct. >> Okay, do you have your ID on you? >> Why don't you let me get into the back seat? My brother's been pulled over multiple times for doing that for I live in Des Moines. I go to work. I don't like doing this. >> My brother's been pulled over multiple times for nothing. I live in Des Moines and I go to work. Bless his heart. I like that kid. You don't got no weapons on you? >> No. Officer, I'll give you >> Go and step out of my truck. Yep, I just told you why. Three times. You want me to recap again? Yep, your hands are up and now I'm asking you to step out of the car. >> I gave you my ID. >> You gave me your ID. >> Go run it. >> Yep, I don't want to I'm not walking away from this car. I'm not walking away from this car. >> Officer, can I ask you why? >> Yep, cuz I just told you. Step out of the car. Now, you know if you follow this channel for any length of time, he has the right to ask him to step out of the car. I think there should be some limitations on whether or not they're allowed to ask you out of the car. And I think cops should have reasonable articulable suspicion in order to ask you out of the car. They didn't ask me, okay? So, that's still the law. If you don't want to go to jail, I would I would I would expect you to >> Please listen. I mean, I I I I told you I'm a cop. Face the car when you step out. Face the car when you step out. Face car when you step out. Don't flex. Don't flex. I don't know what you're doing, man, but you need to knock that off. Stop pulling on your arms. >> Oh my gosh. >> What's going on, dude? >> Did anybody see him flex? Did anybody see him resist? Did anybody see him do anything other than follow every livelong command that this officer gave him? You're making cops look bad. >> What are Are trying to get are you doing, dude? >> Officer, I'm not doing nothing to you. >> Okay. Well, you're making me think something funny's going on, man. >> Come on. >> Here come the cuffs. You're not under arrest. >> It sure the crap feels like I'm under arrest when you've got me out of the car. You haven't told me the reason for the stop. You think you see shaking the car. You think my buddy's got a gun and now I'm in handcuffs, but I'm not under arrest. >> You're like pulling away like you're going to do something silly and I don't want that. >> Officer, please. >> What? >> Nothing. >> I want >> I'm not even I'm not I'm not even going to >> Okay. Well, you're not under arrest, man. Okay. So, slide over here. I mean, your heart is thumping, dude. Like you're beaten. >> Officer, don't don't please don't >> Don't what? >> I have a seat. Have a seat. >> Have a seat. I want to I think that your buddy has a gun. So, I need you to step in the car. Step in the car. He's acting funny. Step in the car, please. >> Officer, come on. >> you don't step in the car, you're going to jail for sure. >> Okay. That's fine. Officer, please. >> Step in the car. >> Listen. Listen. Listen. >> I'm done listening. I just told you I think that your buddy has a gun. Now, knock it off. >> Let's see if that plays out to be correct. He thinks buddy's got a gun and yet he's turned his back on buddy. He's left his secondary officer by herself at the window and he's come over here to put this kid in the backseat. Yeah, I mean, if you really truly think buddy's got a gun and he might reach for it, you get yourself ready. You don't leave your secondary officer at the window by herself, but he has. >> I don't know. >> Nothing in your hands. Can you spread your feet just a little bit? Okay. All right. Come back and stand with me, okay? You're not going to run from me, are you? >> You're not going to run from me, are you? So, how can this cop search this car now so dum-dums like my director can understand? The only legitimate reason I can think of at this point based upon what I know is that he smelled marijuana. In Tennessee, that's still probable cause to search a car, even though we've got legal hemp here, and they probably have legal hemp in that state, it's still probable cause to search a car if you smell marijuana on a traffic stop. I don't believe he smelled it. I can't prove he didn't smell it. He says he saw shake. Let's see if he finds it. That's going to be the next big question. Let's see what he finds. You know, searches are boring, and at the end of the day, all you really care about is did he find anything? Spoiler alert. I think not. >> How old are you, Montray? >> March 25th, 1995. >> Now, watch this part. This cop gets in there, and he's talking to Montray. Montray's the driver. Let's see if he tries to copsplain anything to him. >> You supposed to be drinking in the park there? >> Officer. >> Really? Well, I guess you didn't find anything in the car. But, he didn't have a gun. I don't have any weed. You still haven't told me the reason for the stop. Are you going to get there eventually? >> I don't Officer, nothing is in there, okay? There was no gun, there was no weapon to harm you, Officer. We didn't do anything wrong. We stopped at the stop light. We pulled over when you pulled over. I did everything you asked me to, Officer. You thought there was a weapon, there's no weapon. We wasn't doing anything wrong, Officer. I'm not sure why you pulled me over. It's a rental, [music] everything is fine. There is no broken tail light or nothing, Officer. I did nothing wrong with you. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> [clears throat] >> Okay. >> Let me get it, brother. >> I'll get it. I'll get it, man. >> Um, if I take them handcuffs off you, you going to Can you dump out that bottle of alcohol for me? >> Oh, I could do it anytime, Officer. >> Is that good? >> What would you do? If he says, "I'm going to take you out of this car and take the handcuffs off of you if you dump out the bottle of alcohol that you legitimately purchased for yourself because it's legal for you to own, but we're going to go back to the days of prohibition and make you dump it out on the side of the highway." What do you think he's going to say? >> So, here's the deal, like you and I know I mean let's let's let's start over. Let's let's rule with each other. Did I make anything up when I said the car smelled like marijuana? [music] Yeah, a little bit. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> Because there was nobody smoking in the car. >> marijuana shake >> Hold on. Hold on. Officer, that was cigarette ash, okay? >> Cigarette ash? >> There's no You didn't find no marijuana. >> I didn't I'm not charging you with marijuana. But, here's here's what if you want me to If you want me to be real with you, like I want you to be real with me for a second. Like did I make that up? You know what I mean? Did I Did I just Did I make it up? >> I believe so, officer. >> Okay. So, you want me to write you a ticket for the ticket for the stuff that I have to write you? You think >> So, this cop wants this kid to believe he's still in trouble. He's still getting a good deal from this cop who just wants to be real with him cuz I just want you to admit that I didn't make anything up. And this kid says, "Yeah, I kind of think you did make that up." Well, well, then you just want me to write you tickets and go to jail. >> So, you think that I'm lying, like then we'll go to court and we'll we'll talk about it then. >> Okay. >> Or do you want to just be real with me and I'll be real with you? >> Wow. >> Really? >> Right? >> Wow. I I would like to pull out my alcoholic reaction, too, officer. You didn't find anything. We wasn't doing anything, officer. >> So, you're not going to admit that you maybe were around people smoking or something like that. >> Oh my god! So, you're not going to admit that maybe you're just around somebody that was smoking weed. Come on, give me something. Maybe he watched a movie where they were smoking weed last night. This cop right here is why people hate cops. This This is why. >> And then it won't make us nervous. >> Okay. >> Usually when we see that with somebody sitting there like that, like there's a gun right where you You know what I mean? Like I'm telling you that that's what happens. >> Okay. >> That's the only reason That's the only reason that happens is cuz like you were just making it seem like something crazy is going on when it could It could been something as as that or like a bag or something. Like we jump automatically to what? This is where we hold cops accountable when they make mistakes. And you know what, buddy? You made a mistake. You pulled this kid over for I can't think of anything. Maybe you saw him in the park. Maybe you suspected they were doing something wrong in the park. You never really tell him what he was pulled over for. And you never write him a ticket. I don't even see him give him a ticket. But you see this kid pour out the legal alcohol real quick. >> No. Have a great night. >> All right. Thank you, guys. >> I feel like I was missing something. >> I feel like I've missed something. Do you feel like he missed something? He flipped the kid's car upside down searching it, made him dump out the legal bottle of alcohol that he had, and ends up not charging him with a criminal offense. Had him on the side of the road for what was nearly 12 minutes. Yeah, you missed something. And it was the apology. Reportedly, the city of Des Moines paid these two kids $75,000 for racial profiling. The tax-paying citizens of Des Moines had to fork out all of this money because we got bully cops. What do you think? Every video we do could be you. If you're driving around and you get pulled over because of racial profiling and the cop does something like this to you, you need to be educated and armed with the ammunition of education so you know how to deal with it. And if you want to make sure this doesn't happen to you, [clears throat] like, share, and subscribe, and go buy book while you're at it. This is not the worst bully cop I've ever seen, but if you want to watch one of the worst ones I've ever seen, take a look at this one.
