The police say that your friend already told them everything, so you might as well tell us your side of the story. This is a common trick that police use to elicit confessions or admissions against your interest. Don't fall for that. I have a personal story. Police officer came in and he said, "I have this disc right here and what you didn't know is there was a hidden camera in this house and it captured everything that you did. So, you might as well tell us what happened." This particular person fell for that trick and admitted everything that they never could have proven without his admission.
