And then we're going to after that, we got one body cam video that we're going to do to make it stretch a little bit. You know what I'm saying? I'll give you guys a solid 45 minutes, an hour or something like that. You know what I mean? So anyway, let's go. Right. Nobody knows where these kids are. Something happened with them. Now's the time. >> There was blankets and they were like half stuck to the floor from rotten flesh and so forth. There was something really wrong here. >> What do you describe that smell as? >> It was death. >> I never trusted him and I didn't know what he was capable of. A welfare check quickly transforms into one of the most horrifying investigations in recent Florida history, leaving detectives to unravel months of deception and a series of crimes that seem to transcend the very definition of evil. In midepptember 2019, the Marian County Sheriff's Office in Florida receives a call from a concerned mother requesting a welfare check on her 32-year-old daughter, Casey Jones. >> I don't know where she could be. I just don't. And it's really weird cuz I haven't talked to her. I only saw Mike when I had the kids. >> Mike is 38-year-old Michael Wayne Jones, Casey's husband and the father of their two daughters, 2-year-old Merkeli and one-year-old Ayana. >> How long ago was that when you talked to her last >> when I talked to her? >> Yeah. >> Been like a month and a half or more. And it's just weird. She would never do that. And she would never leave her kids for two weeks. Casey messaged her mother a month and a half prior asking if she could watch the two girls for a couple of days. However, after a few follow-up texts claiming she was sick, the visit stretched into 2 weeks with the girl staying until mid August. >> I got text message from her like saying, "How's the kids?" But it didn't sound like her. Like, you know, like when somebody's talking to you and you know that person, even their text seems off. >> It probably sounded like a guy. Okay. You see, you know, the girls, they talk differently than the guys or whatever. And you know your peoples, but uh it just it was off. >> That's the way the text was. So I was thinking it was Mike. >> Okay. And from what I understand, Mike dropped the kids off, which is abnormal because she wasn't with him, >> right? And she didn't come and pick him up either. >> Okay. So she didn't show up the two weeks after that to come pick him up. >> Okay. Mike came alone. >> Right. >> During this time, Casey's two sons from a previous marriage, 9-year-old Cameron and four-year-old Preston, were staying with their biological father. They also returned home in mid August. But when Cameron's birthday came and passed on September 12th, it was unusual that Casey hadn't shared her customary Facebook post. >> And that was really weird cuz she always posts her birthday. >> Now, does uh Michael have a Facebook name? >> I think it's just Michael Jones. >> Okay. And have you talked to him at all? >> No. Nope. He took his messages off Facebook cuz everybody's trying to message him to see where Casey's at. >> But the mystery doesn't end with Casey. No one has seen or heard from her four children in the last few weeks. >> I'm just worried about I don't know where they're at. You know, >> there is going to be a missing person's bolo put out. Okay. We're gonna put her car out. We're going to put her out. And we're gonna put the kids out there, too. I don't want to scare you. I don't want to do any of that stuff, but what we're working with right now is there are some suspicious circumstances. So, we're going to try to get ahead of that and figure everything out. Okay. >> I don't care if she's mad at me for the rest of my life. I I just want to make sure her and those four kids are okay. >> A deputy heads to Casey and Michael's home in Somerfield, Florida, only to find that the residence has been completely cleared out. However, he takes note of a dark red stain in the west bedroom, a substance that appears to be blood. Now, before he continues with that, it's like, you know, it's very important for you to have people in your life that check up on you, you know, cuz if you're a loner, right? If you're a loner or you're not used to talking to people and having those conversations or whatever, you really wouldn't be able to get ahead of something like this, right? Because let's say, for example, this person doesn't notice. um let's say she didn't have any friends or didn't have you know whatever right or family that really checked up on her or whatever she would just go whatever would be happening right but the fact that she does have people that's checking in and she notices that hey this is this is kind of out of the ordinary you're able to catch it early rather than late I mean it's still a little late as in it's too late you know she probably gone but you know at least it's earlier than expected you know what I mean The deputy then learns that an eviction process has been initiated in late August. But after speaking with two men who cleaned the residence, investigators begin to suspect that a dark secret may be lurking within the walls. >> I went in and [clears throat] it was god awful. I called Mr. and told him there's something really wrong here. >> What are you saying? Because of [snorts] uh what do you >> smell? >> Okay. What do you describe that smell as? It was dead. >> But the front bedroom was the worst. We even joked about it being smells like a dead body. But I don't know what a dead body smells like. >> When you went into that front bedroom in the corner, there was blankets and they were like half stuck to the floor from rotten flesh and so forth. >> The disturbing remarks only further suspicion. But the case would take another unexpected turn after Michael's ex-wife Sarah claimed to have seen the family at a McDonald's on Friday, September 13th, just one day before they were reported missing. However, in a voicemail left for investigators, her story suddenly changes. >> I was thinking more about it, and I actually don't recall seeing Casey on Friday, so I only can confirm that I saw Michael's. And for what it's worth, a lot of drama comes along with her. So, I would be very surprised if this were not just some sort of stunt. >> Investigators checked the McDonald's surveillance footage in hopes of verifying this claim, only to learn that the family was never at the restaurant. Detectives then confront Sarah with what appears to be a bold-faced lie. >> What's going on? >> Um, nothing really, at least on our end. So, Michael's been here. This is my understanding of what has happened. I don't know facts about anything other than what I've been told from Michael. He told me, um, he and I have split up. I can't take it anymore. You know, she's making me crazy. Um, this isn't working. And kind of vented to me about the way things have been between them for a long time. >> Your exwife, do they have kids together? Cuz if they don't have kids together, why are they still even in tangled? like you like why they you're an ex. You're an ex for a reason. You're in the past. Okay. I'm working on the future and the present. YOU'RE IN THE PAST. So why are they even talking? And something is a little off with her because for the most part I ain't even going to get into texted Sarah on July 11th, 2019. A message that would reconnect the somewhat estranged pair. As time went on, several of his messages would convey a rather flirtatious tone with one reading, "Hey, beautiful. Just seeing how you're doing." And another, he writes, "Miss you guys, all four of you." Sarah, however, appeared intent on keeping the conversation strictly platonic. Replying with, "Miss you too, friend." >> I, previous to us moving here, hadn't really talked to him much. We did not have a great [snorts] situation with our split up. He was a cause of a lot of that. >> What were kind of things he was saying? >> That she's very jealous. Um that he wasn't allowed I mean again the reason he wasn't really allowed to speak to me for that amount of time was because she was jealous that she's manipulative and a liar and that his her mother is crazy. >> After Michael reconnected with Sarah, he would go on to help watch their three shared children while she was at work. During this time, Cameron, Preston, Merkeli, and Ayana were all on extended visits with family members. >> He told me on Tuesday that he had found out from his landlord that um trailer basically condemned, like not set up correctly, nobody should be living. >> Wow. I just read that message. Hold on. That's Wow. says, "Uh, my mother and I were not talking with one another over something stupid. She died in her sleep and her neighbor found her two weeks after I last spoke to her. I will never forgive myself, man. I'm sorry. Sorry to hear that, man. That's um, you know, that goes to what I was saying earlier where you know, you do need people in your life or in your circle that check up on you. you know, maybe not every day, but maybe every other day or something like that, you know. Um, uh, wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Casey, LLM, uh, Bear, what's going on, you guys? >> There. So, he got all his stuff out, put what he put in a storage shed, and then came here. >> Michael has been staying at Sarah's for the last 2 weeks, beginning around late August. But at this point, the whereabouts of Casey and her four children remains a complete mystery. The detective then goes on to confront Sarah about her inconsistent claims of seeing the Jones family on September 13th, an account she now admits was entirely fabricated. >> Why? >> I think I panicked. Um, so I saw the message at like 4:00 in the morning. >> Huh. >> I was asleep when I came in. >> And I went to him. I mean, based on our history, >> you went to your >> I went to him sleeping in the boy's room. Yes. Yes. So, you went to Michael >> and I said, "Why is the Marian County Sheriff's Department trying to contact me?" Like, "What? What is the deal?" And he didn't seem to have any clue. He didn't understand what was going on. I had also had a message from his mom last night about, "Have you talked to Michael?" I'm like, "Oh, wait. Anybody's asking me?" Like, nobody knew he was staying here, but I'm like, "Nobody should think to ask me." Like, anyway, >> but the detective is still unconvinced of her story, and Sarah finally comes clean. You said you panicked, but you had to have a reason to make up that story. What? What? What? I don't understand why you made that up. >> I think in my head I didn't want to get in trouble for him being here. >> It seems like almost like a ploy to not us to look for. You see what I'm saying? Like um >> to me that's what makes sense and that's what makes sense to detective Bartlett. So I'm I'm just curious like how does that come up >> other than Michael saying like just say you saw me Friday. Does he tell you to say that? >> He He did. Yes. >> When I say ask you why don't you say it's because he told me to say it. >> Yeah. So >> you're still It seems like you're still not being fully forthcoming with me right now. >> Full of crap. >> I really am. He wrote down a couple notes that he took with him just like say you saw me Friday. >> And then what did he say? He he >> he just said something about you know we met at the McDonald's on Friday in Palaca. And so when I came back from that I said you need to get in touch with them. Like I'm freaking out. I don't know what's going to happen. They're going to think you did something to your wife because we all listen to True Crime podcast >> and he's definitely not here. >> He's definitely not here though. >> Michael told Sarah he was heading to the police department to clear things up and he left a voicemail for one of the detectives. >> Yes. Hi, this is Michael Jones. I've been uh pretty great actually that I'm trying to contact my wife and I. Um I am not in town right now. I could be there uh late this evening or probably more uh more likely early in the morning. I come to your office and speak with you. Can you give me a detailed message uh whereabouts that is and uh as far as what office? We could probably be there as early as 9:00 tomorrow morning. Thank you. >> But this meeting would occur much sooner than anticipated and under the most gruesome of circumstances. On the evening of September 15th, just one day after Casey and the kids were reported missing, Michael crashed his car across state lines in Brantley County, Georgia, he alerted the local authorities, where the responding officers instantly took note of a putrid smell emanating from the van. Michael in response offered the twisted reason as to why, stating, "You may want to go ahead and put me in handcuffs because my wife is dead and she is in the vehicle." Tragically, investigators would quickly locate the mother's lifeless body exactly where Michael said she would be. This chilling confession lands him in an interrogation room with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation where he begins revealing the brutal details surrounding Casey's death. The feds I mean you're already cooked like if you was to get hit with the state, but clearly you was going across what state lines or something like, man, the feds. Oh man, you are really cooked, man. You're really How do you even crash your car like that? Like, look at this. What the heck was you doing? This looked like some sort of like What the Was you drinking or something? WHAT'S GOING ON HERE? UNBELIEVABLE. chilling confession lands him in an interrogation room with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation where he begins revealing the brutal details surrounding Casey's death. But as disturbing as his account already is, one haunting fact remains. Her four children are still missing. >> So I've been married Casey for 2 years now. been with her about going on five and it's been up and down the last the last couple years been up and down just as far as trials and marital problems. Yeah. Yeah. Just straight up just nagging and and poking and prouding of me verbally showing to see my cell phone. Hope they're just not in the cell phone, but you know, do what you want. She's uh at this point in my face trying to go to sleep. I got up from the bed, went into the chair. Um she went over and put the phone in my face, just saying things to me that weren't true. >> What was she accusing? >> Um anywhere from me being unfaithful to me being um you know, planning stuff as far as my ex was coming down here and >> No crap. No crap. Of course, you being unfaithful. And she was right. Whatever the ex-wife wants to say, I don't I don't care what she got to say. You guys were back in communications. The wife, the current wife, had a hunch that something was going on. And you talking about, "Hey babe, this and that and he coming over to stay for a couple days and all of that." You can't tell me he going over there and babe and this and that and he not HE NOT WE KNOW WHAT'S going on. Come on man. And then the wife is the ex-wife is covering for him. So we hit and and you know the heat got on him because the cops is looking for him yada yada. So he got up out of there. So the CURRENT WIFE WAS CORRECT MAN. you was cheating on her, man. Or at least planning to do so. >> She shows me and then I pushed her on the bed. I just kept telling her like, "Leave, like leave." We have like a recliner in the trailer and she like grabbed behind it had a bat and I grabbed from her and pushed her and she punched and hit me as I started swimming with the bat. That's what killed her. Yes, sir. Following his act of rage, Michael says he wrapped Casey in plastic, placed her in a plastic bin, and kept her body inside of their bedroom. >> Where did you kill her? In the trailer. Did you clean up everything? Is it still there? I mean, I tried to clean up, you know, all that splatter and stuff on it. >> Casey's murder took place on July 10th, 2019 while the four children were sleeping inside the home. According to Michael, he told the kids that he and Casey were quote taking a break whenever they would ask about their mother. And just one day after the murder, Michael sent a text to his ex-wife Sarah. >> In my experience in the last 4 and 1/2 years with her and her mother, this is probably blown way out of proportion. >> I don't believe anything has happened to her. I think she's sitting in a hotel with her four kids somewhere probably laughing at everybody. the whole time this is going on or people asking where she is or not at first. Um it wasn't for a few weeks here and there that her mother would ask like where she was or whatever and then I would drop the girls off like I said with her. >> Mhm. >> In the land every once in a while. But yeah, I mean people would ask every once in a while and I had a phone so I would say hey I would talk as her basically. Michael says he eventually put Casey's body in their van, driving around with her, quote, "On and off." Sarah would come to this sickening realization after learning what she believed was impossible. >> So, I assume he was driving around my boys in his van with um you know, a dead body. When I found out on Monday that they found Casey, I had to leave work in my deepest prayer was that he hadn't hurt those kids. >> Sadly, Casey's murder was only the beginning of a series of unthinkable violence. As less than a month later, Michael's attention turned to her four innocent children. >> All right. Nobody knows where your kids are. Something happened with them. Now's the time. You've been carrying this for a while, but we got to know where I need to know where his kids are. I'm having four of them. You need You got to let me know that there. They're all gone. All four of them. One day I just realized, you know, school is starting. The boys are school age and I started just to choke them out. The interrogation is temporarily paused, but Michael would be in the same chair just hours later detailing the horrific murders of those he was supposed to protect. >> I strangled um Cameron in his room. I was on top of him >> in the bed. >> Yeah. And then um did he say anything? Did he >> pulled him to the ground and just kept holding on till he stopped moving? Did he scratch you? Did he injure you? Was he kicking around or anything? >> He's kicking. Yeah. >> Okay. How long did it take? >> Seemed like forever. >> Was he on his back? Was he or he's facing you? >> No, face down. >> Face face down. >> Face down. >> Did you use your Did you use your hands or did you use your your your hands mainly? Okay. Yeah. And then I think at one point he was on his back and I put my knee into his chest. >> Did Preston hear what was going on with Cameron when it was going on? >> Did Did he wake up? >> No. >> Preston was sleeping just feet away during his older brother's murder. Michael placed Cameron's body inside of a suitcase, leaving it in the trailer. The next morning, Preston woke up asking where his brother had gone. Tragically, it would only take one day for the siblings to be reunited. Preston was the second one. He had a I put a zip tie around his neck and I put him in the test. >> And then how soon after that did you decide you were going to go ahead and and uh put the zip tie on Preston? >> I grabbed him from the bed the next night. He was asleep when he went in. >> Yeah. The way it happened with Cameron, I figured there, you know, my hands were hurting and I clicked in my head that I had zip ties somewhere. Took him off the bed and took that around those um put it around his neck and then brought him in the bathroom. >> Michael held Preston underwater, killing the four-year-old. Investigators would later speak to Cameron and Preston's father, telling him the heartbreaking news. Oh, he didn't even get his birthday. [laughter] >> And that's what I was wondering because in the beginning they said she has four four children. Two is his and then two is the other the you know her you know her ex-man or whatever ex-husband. And this is sick boy. This is sick. But um you know, but they said that the boys was over at his house. So I'm thinking, okay, he he offed his which neither one is it's it's it's still not good. It's not better, you know, but I'm thinking that he offed his ex-wife or his wife and his kids. Damn. He he off the her kids from a previous marriage, too. Oh, this is sick, man. He going to they going to tear his ass up in prison. Boy, >> did he make it to school? Oh my god. [laughter] >> The brothers are believed to have been murdered in mid August. Preston's birthday was August 22nd. He was just a few short days away from turning 5 years old. According to Michael, Preston's body was left in a trash bag inside the bathroom for several days before he placed the boys in separate plastic bins with Cameron still enclosed inside the suitcase. >> Yay. [cheering] I got to ask what what were you trying to accomplish, do you think? Just trying to know. >> In a text sent just one month prior to Cameron and Preston's deaths, Michael reveals his hostile feelings toward the boys, writing to Sarah, "I will be honest, I hate these two boys. I hope she takes them soon." However, Michael never expressed these thoughts to their father, who tells investigators that his most recent interaction with the suspect was unusually cordial. I never trusted him and I didn't know what he was capable of. So when I had picked them up first from the mall to bring them back to Georgia to spend my two weeks with them, you know, Michael got out of the van and it was really shocking, sir, because Michael had this like huge apology. you know, he's like, "I just want to apologize like for believing everything that Casey's said about you about how, you know, you apparently abused her every day and you hit the kids and you did this and that when clearly I know that that wasn't true and I know the kind of woman that she is." The part that was weird, sir, is he was really cool with me, you know, like like he was my homeboy or something, you know, like we were best friends. He was like, "But I I want you to see your children more. I want you to do this and that." And so I'm thinking, man, you know, like I mean, this is great, you know. I'm thinking something at least he's normal or halfway is normal, you know, and we've been hugged, you know, he shook my hand. It's almost like that was his apology for everything that he had done. And here I was, you know, I took it hook, line, and sinker, you know, because I'm a forgiving guy. >> Michael admits that he wanted to turn himself in for all three murders, even sitting outside a police department with Mali and Ayana in the car. Instead, he drove away. A decision that would seal the fate of his two youngest children, starting with 2-year-old Merkalli. >> Oh, so he say so he so he done unalived another man's kids first and then now but he saved his for last. Ain't this something? This is sick, man. You could have, man, you should have just let let the kids you you off. All right. You off the ex. You off your wife. You should have let the kids is what? I'm This [ __ ] is so sick. I can't even talk. H [sighs] if you had a problem with your stepkids, right? Cuz that's what they are. They're your stepkids. If you had a problem with your stepkids, what you need to do is sit down and talk with the wife and be like, "Yo, can these kids go with their daddy?" You know, because that's typically what happens when they split. The kids go with the mom. Auto is like automatic, you know? So, you should have let the kids go with the stepdaddy, you know, or maybe they had that conversation and she didn't want to do that, you know, or whatever. But, man, you you you you offed another man's kids. That [ __ ] is crazy, man. It's bad enough you you end up offing your own, but another man's >> Don't tell them. I put my hands around her throat, put her in the tub face down, and the same thing with the baby. >> Same night. >> Yeah. Immediately after. >> Yeah. >> So, at the point you decided to do this, were you angry? >> I just was at a point of no return, I guess. >> Look at me. >> Who is that? Who's that pretty? Is that you? The murders occurred shortly before Labor Day weekend at the end of August 2019. After killing Merkalli and Diana, Michael placed the girls together in a plastic bin and put them in the van alongside Cameron and Preston. However, the children were not inside of the car when Casey's body was discovered. But detectives still have one final question for Michael. >> Was it all about just at that point just trying to make see if you could get away with it? Is that trying to stay out of jail or was it do you think it there was some sort of emotional aspect to being so mad at her for treating you the way she did over those last few months? You know, I mean, walk me through that a little if you can. >> I don't know. A little bit of both of what you just said. >> Um, there was aspect of them being part of their mother and I didn't know what to do as far as I just could not open my mouth. I couldn't make that step to say somebody help me. >> After crossing into Georgia on September 15th, Michael says he disposed of the children in a wooded area shortly before the crash. He would lead investigators back to the scene where all four bodies were recovered. When asked why he didn't dispose of Casey's body, Michael offers no explanation, telling detectives that he doesn't know. >> You know, I I didn't want her to marry Mike. I knew something was wrong, but I just couldn't pinpoint why I didn't like him. >> Michael was charged with four counts of murder in the first degree and one count of murder in the second degree. According to court transcripts, Michael's defense argued that he suffered from delusions and delirium, citing statements he made to mental health clinicians in which he said he heard Casey's voice after her death, urging him to reunite the children with their mother. According to Michael, Casey's voice also told him the family would be resurrected together. On this basis, the defense asked the jury to spare his life and instead sentence him to life in prison without the possibility of parole, but the argument failed to persuade them. Michael was found guilty. >> Yeah, cuz he's not crazy >> on all charge. >> Well, he's crazy, but he they tried to do that insanity stuff. Nah, that ain't working. >> And received a life sentence for the secondderee murder of Casey. For the murders of the four children, he was sentenced to death in 2023. Michael appealed his first-degree murder convictions and death sentences. However, the ruling was affirmed in 2025. He is currently being held on death row. Watch our full video. >> Good. No other words but good. [gasps] Yeah, that's a that's so sick. All right, Bear. have a safe flight. Um, yeah. Yeah, that's crazy, man. We got another video that we got to do. Uh, let me see here. [cough and clears throat] Let me see. Uh, there we go. Uh, let's see here. It's just so crazy. Anyways, um so this is the second video we got. Title of this video is when a defiant 21-year-old tells police she's got a gun in the car. On this ride along, a woman wants the body cams on. >> Is your body cam on? Turn the body on now. >> An officer isn't taking phone calls. >> Who is that? >> Our father. >> I don't want to talk to him. and another uses a door as a conversation stopper. >> So, am I getting arrested? [music] >> On Saturday, May 24th, officers were patrolling the area near the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando when they noticed the car in front of them had an expired temporary tag on it. So, they'd pull the car over and get out to see what was up. >> Hey, how are you? I'm Deputy. Can you see your Orange County Sheriff's Office? >> Yeah. What? Do you have your license plates expired? Is there a reason why you have that expired? >> Oh, hello. like I just got a new car. >> The officer would signal with a finger to her nose that she smelled a funky odor coming from the car. >> Can I get you a picture of it? You have it with you? >> No, I do. It's just It's literally my my car is dirty and [ __ ] I don't know where it was. >> Due to the smell, the officer started to peek around. It's not clear if she saw it at this moment, but a 9mm round of ammo was lying near the driver's feet. >> Plate that Are you okay? >> Yeah. No, I'm just saying the license plate expired in April. It's for a license plate. Y'all shouldn't be all in the car like that. >> But when you're reaching around, I got to see where you're >> Well, you can see where I'm reaching. He can see, too. Y'all follow my window down. We're not playing [ __ ] car. You pulled me over for an expired license. I have a brand new car and I have a new license that I can show you. So, is there anything else you need? >> Yeah, we going to need you to step out the car. >> Do you have the registration that goes with it? >> Yes, I have everything. And can you lower the windows for me? All the windows? Yeah. >> I'm asking you to blow all the windows. No, >> that's all you get. You need my That's all I get. All right. >> Yep. No, you step out. >> What? >> Step out the car. >> I'm not moving. If you touch me, I promise you. >> All right. Sit out the car. >> What do you You're not giving me any information. >> Registration. Your body cam gone. Is your body cam on? Turn the body cam on now. Supervisor on here. Call. Call. >> What's the issue? Because he just tried to remove me from the vehicle because I said I didn't want to run my windows down. >> I gave her the registration. I can't see in the car. >> Wait, I do not have to choice. >> Yes, I'll touch it. I'm trying to find it. What? What she trying to touch me for? >> All right. Step out. I'm telling you. Step out for >> Step out for That's not lawful at all. I don't have >> Listen, first of all, if she asks you to step out, you can step out because she's asking you to because you're currently being detained. Your >> supervisor. Honestly though, I like how the passenger is is uh she's recording, right? She's whatever. She's not even getting the right angles. We can see in the camera, but uh she is being quiet. You know, a lot of times a lot of passengers, they going to try to butt in andh this. No, she playing her role, man. >> Do you understand what detainment means? >> No, I'm not detained for no lawful [ __ ] Get a supervisor. Turn up my ID. Nobody told you supervisor 51. >> That's crazy. >> Get your driver's license. >> I'm trying to find >> vehicle registration. >> Can we have a supervisor 51, please? >> They gave us this car was registered >> right now. It's got a tag on the lab. >> I just gave you a registration. So, go check it to make sure I'm not like illegal like you think I am trying to pull me out. >> Well, you have a you have a tag that's on your vehicle that's expired. I have a new This is a brand new car and I have a new license plate in the trunk that I can show you. >> Okay, but why isn't it attached? >> Cuz it's a tip tag that I had for >> But if you have a license plate that's car >> Okay, but if you have it in the trunk, why is it not attached? >> I have If you have When you get a tip tag, you can use it for as much time. I didn't know it expires. So, that means it just expired. >> All right. And are there any weapons in this car? >> Yes. >> Okay. Where? Because don't re Don't reach for anything because I'm seeing ammo on the floor. That's why I'm asking. Don't reach for anything, but are you >> Oh. Oh my. >> Where's the weapon at? >> It's in my freaking bag. It's closed. >> WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA. Don't reach now. Don't reach, man. Might have to might have to send you up through there, man. >> Hey, just leave it there. >> What am I getting pulled over for? >> Oh, >> because your tag is expired. >> Okay. If my tag doesn't have the >> Can I show you my new tag? >> That's fine. But the fact doesn't change that it's not attached to the vehicle. you were still happy. That's hope that I have a tie. >> That's fine. >> But it's still not attached to the vehicle. >> For those curious, the specific Florida law that requires your license plate to be physically attached to the vehicle and not kept in the glove box, on the dash, or in the trunk is Florida Statute Section 316.605, subsection 1. This is a noncriminal traffic infraction. Despite this though, the driver would continue with her argument until she reached the person she was trying to call. >> I asked him to call the supervisor multiple times. >> I did call the supervisor. You can watch her on my body camera. >> Go ahead and call. I'm not trying to find my [ __ ] bro. Hold on. >> The officer would go to put the zero in the patrol car while the other officer tried to maintain control of the traffic stop. >> Am I allowed to get out? You wanted me to get on the first place. >> I don't know, man. My location. Don't go into the Don't go like this right here. Hold on. Look. Look. Look. Look. No. Look at this. Listen. Listen. Listen. Look. Look. Look. All right. Listen. You don't have to do that. You don't have Listen. We're being off. We're being respectful to you. We have to in return my shirt off. >> I'm trying to tell you don't have to do all that. I don't know what you have on you or not on. >> Bro, she had my gun. I don't have nothing on me. Clear. >> All right. You have to step off. Step away from the trunk. >> Quit touching me, [ __ ] Get my phone. >> Let's relax. >> What is she touching? All right. >> Don't touch me. YOU DON'T GOT TO TOUCH ME. >> You don't got to touch me. You don't got to touch me in charge here. You're not >> What are y'all touching me for, though? >> You're not protesting. I'm not protesting. >> I'm not arrested. What are y'all doing? >> Let's relax right now. >> Can you please explain what I did, please? Y'all, please stop. >> I'm not listening to any of >> Bro, I don't have to listen. You don't have to restrain me. >> Of course you like. What are you doing, >> sir? Are you a s? >> Put your hands behind your back. >> For what? What am I getting arrested for? No one said you're arrested at this time. >> What are you detaining me for? You can't >> Because you're not listening to lawful orders. >> You Because I'm not physically listening. I didn't touch you. >> You're being detained right now because you're being incredibly uncooperative. >> No, because y'all just took my gun. Y'all just took my [ __ ] without >> Absolutely. Because you're sitting there with the the butt of the gun sitting out next to the pass. >> It was It was not sitting out. >> Of course it was. >> All right. Everybody always want a supervisor. As if the supervisor is going to go against his officers. You are completely wasting your time. Whatever the officer wants, when the supervisor gets there, you're still going to do what the officer wants. >> And my ID's right there. Y'all see that? >> That's fine. >> What y'all doing? >> Check every cooperative. You said you didn't have your ID. >> I said I did. I couldn't find it. [ __ ] check your body cam. Stupid [ __ ] I did say I had a body cam now. Shut the up talking to me. >> Do your damn job. You can't even restrain me, right? Two of y'all. >> Restrain just fine. >> I shut up. >> Can I at least get my phone? >> We'll get a friend. >> Just have a seat till we figure everything out. >> And I don't consent to no searches. Nothing. That >> That's not up to you. >> It is. It is up to me. I don't consent to [ __ ] I don't consent to no searches. I don't consent. You don't have to consent right now. You're detained. >> I'm not detain. You didn't even detain me for nothing legal. >> I have a firearm. >> Okay. Which is legal. You didn't check to see if it was, did you? Exactly. You're going to get us some [ __ ] You didn't even check to see if my arm was legal. >> Sit down. >> All right. You're detained right now, right? You're not under arrest. We have to do investigation. All right. >> That is a good point because, you know, in Florida, everybody pretty much can have a gun. So, you know, she is kind of right on that part. You know, you detain me for the gun, but you ain't even I can have one. You know, if that's the case, I don't know. >> How are you? >> As requested, a supervisor would arrive shortly thereafter to discuss the situation. >> Fine, bro. >> How you doing? >> I'm doing good. How are you? >> All right. I'm Sergeant Little John. >> Yes, sir. >> What's going on, >> sir? I got pulled over for an expired tag. >> Okay. >> The situation obviously escalated itself. I'm very upset. You're the supervisor? I want to report these two officers for um first of all they they escalated the situation way more than it had to be. She pulled me over. She said you have a temporary tag, which I understand. When you get a new car, that's what they give you. I have my license plate in my trunk, which I tried to tell her. You know, I got pulled over, so I was a little jumbled. I couldn't find my freaking license. I told her that as well, so I'm obviously upset and I understand that. But sir, I didn't break no damn laws. They don't have a right to illegally detain me. I didn't do anything. I didn't run away from them. I didn't physically harm them. I didn't threaten them at all. So this is illegal as and it's hot back here. And I'm trying to tell her that. She said the air is on. It's hot as back here. It's hot. And then it's like I told her everything was good in my car. They took my gun. So then after they took my gun, I got out to go get my license plate. Then they detained me. I don't know what you have in the trunk. You just took my firearm. Like what are you talking about? My license is good. My registration's good. And I'm upset. That is that doesn't give them the right to detain somebody. I didn't break no damn law. >> Like that's the problem. >> All right. I'm I'm listening, sir. And I understand that. Let me just say a few things. Okay. Yes, sir. Yes. >> All right. Correct me if I'm wrong. Did they give you instructions not to move around or grab that firearm or go back to the trunk? >> Well, that's the thing. She didn't let me. She She tried to unlawfully remove me from the vehicle, so I would have been out regardless. I got out when I wanted to get out. That was >> When they found the firearm, she took it. So, I didn't have no firearm in my car. That was >> So, they legally detained you on that? >> No, they I didn't. No, they didn't legally detain me. She literally before she even legally detained me, she removed me. She tried to forcefully remove me from her my vehicle and that's on her body cam. And I would >> wait but in Florida just because you have a firearm they could just detain you. I don't damn cuz that's what both of them is saying that the the cop said that and the supervisor is saying that when they got the gun they legally detained you. But even if even if it's legally registered to her, cuz the the only thing that's so far from what I'm getting that's wrong is the expired tag. The tag part, you know, she don't Yeah, that part. But the firearm, I mean, commands and step out of the >> No, she did. How did she give me commands to step out of the vehicle if I didn't even get a chance to? >> All right, I'm going to review her body. >> Can Who can I report? That's what I want to do. Are you reporting it to me right now? Because I am in the supervisor and what's her name? >> D. Rising or whatever. I want to report it. I want I want a physical police report. >> Her there isn't going to be okay. I want to report I want to report what just happened from them to them cuz it's two damn officers. And you know what's crazy? She she got a video on body cam and I got a video on my phone. >> Okay. >> Like when you officer, I get that y'all have a job to do, but you y'all y'all be breaking laws. Y'all literally broke a law. Talking about something you got an expired tag. So why are you fishing for more [ __ ] if it's for an expired tag? She's in my car looking like that. Like, Y'ALL HAVE CERTAIN JURISDICTIONS. ROLL ALL YOUR WINDOWS DOWN. I DO NOT HAVE TO legally roll all my windows down. >> While no law exists, refusing to adequately roll your windows down can be viewed as an officer safety risk, which the US Supreme Court has said gives officers the right to tell a driver to step out of the vehicle, which is pretty much what this officer had done. >> I'm asking you to blow all the windows. >> That's my That's all I got. No, you can step out. >> So, you broke another law there. And when they give you lawful command, you're not sir. I you a sergeant. You know damn well. There's no such thing as lawful. There's no such thing as a lawful command. Stop playing with me. There's rights. There's rights. I didn't break no right. >> It's a safety issue when you see the court. We can go to court. Let's go to court. Let's go to court. No, because now you now >> the sergeant was always going to side with the officers like I told you earlier. So every time you ask for a supervisor, [clears throat] you're wasting your time. I need to explain to you what's going on. Lawful command, sir. >> Do you understand how communication works? Okay. One party talks, the other one listens. All right. The other one talks, the other one listens. >> Arrested. Like, what do I do? >> Just stand by. >> Figure out what's going on. I told them I didn't want them to search my car. Now she's searching. >> Let you pull off. I'll be right back. >> The supervisor would try to have a conversation with the driver a couple minutes later, but that didn't go very well either. >> What was your question, ma'am? >> I'm trying to figure out how if if I have a legal firearm, why am I getting my vehicle serviced? Because I smell weed and they can see uh >> that's not a probable cause. >> They can see evidence. >> Can I say I I I >> can I explain? Can I talk? >> Yes, sir. But you said you smell weed, which is not a probable cause. That's what I'm trying to tell you. So I don't complete my sentence with you every time you interrupt me. >> So am I getting arrested? >> That would be the end of that. [laughter] >> Why is there so many police here? >> Because >> over a temp? >> No. Over her attitude. >> Over her attitude. Okay. Well, she just started her period and maybe >> Oh, come on. Come on. Come on. Come on, sweetheart. I was rooting for you now. I was ruining I was rooting for you, baby girl. Man, come on, man. I was giving you praise earlier. You was just zipping it up. Now you Now you talking about she on her she on her cycle and all of that. Like, come on, man. Come on. Just Just go back to what you was doing in the beginning. do your little filming and just stay out the way. >> Over a temp? >> No. Over her attitude. >> Over her attitude. Okay. Well, she decided her period and maybe if you guys gave her a minute to calm down. >> Yeah, that's not an excuse. >> No, that they came at her first. >> Because she wasn't being cooperative. Go back to the front of the car where I told you to stand a minute ago. >> Why are you talking to me like that? Like I'm doing something wrong. Don't talk to me like that. You've been told to stand still. >> Okay, but you don't need to talk to me like that. If I'm doing nothing wrong, >> you are doing something wrong. You're not listening. Very simple instruction. Stay there. >> Like the channel. Subscribing helps keep this narrator's tags always up to date. >> He wants to talk to you. >> Who is that? >> Our father. >> I don't want to talk to him. >> He said he don't want to talk to you. >> How old are you? >> Hey, how old are you? >> 22. >> Okay. So, I don't need to talk to your dad. >> Okay. [laughter] The search of the car wouldn't turn up much other than a negligible amount of the stuff causing that funky smell and the valid license plate in the trunk. After that, the officers were thinking they'd tow the car, but the passenger didn't like the sound of that. >> I have no phone, nothing. I This is me genuinely asking you to release the car to me. I I will make sure it gets tac to her. >> Huh? >> But the car is registered to her. She's going >> is the owner of the car and I >> And this this is her mom. This is her mom. >> Huh? >> The hell was her name? I don't know. Her grandma is the owner of the car. >> It's not racer to her. >> Oh, on the phone with someone. >> I'm on the phone with her mother. Her mother is >> He's coming to come to get you. You're an adult. You can walk away. >> I have nobody. This is her parents. >> You're an adult. You can walk away then. >> Walk away. I have no heart. I have nothing. >> Eventually, the officers decided to release the car to the passenger. >> So, the bottom line is the kindness of these deputies that you guys were given a hard time with. >> I wasn't listen to me. Can I talk? All right. >> Loosen the car to you. >> You're part of this. All right. >> Thank you. >> So it doesn't close. >> I got >> All right. The car is going to go to you. Okay. >> The officer charged the woman with resisting without violence, possession of cannabis, and possession of paraphernalia. The assistant state attorney wouldn't pursue those last two charges, though, so she was just left with the resisting charge, to which she'd eventually plead no contest. Adjudication was withheld and she was ordered to pay court costs and fines of $373. She wouldn't pay it by the due date [music] though, so the court sent a suspension notice to the DMV. Payment was then made a couple weeks later and the [music] suspension on her driver's license was lifted. Thanks for watching. See you on the next ride. >> I'm telling you, you can't make this [ __ ] up, man. Literally insane, man. Yo, [gasps] [sighs] so that's that, guys. Um, yeah, this is uh it's crazy, man. Crazy.
