On today's body cam, we're checking out woman beats on eight-month pregnant woman at homeless shelter. >> How far along are you? >> Eight months. Eight weeks. >> Eight months? >> Eight months. >> So, what was going on with the other lady? >> What? >> Is this the first time this has happened? >> First time. First time. She used to be my roommate. >> Okay. >> One night she came in One night she came in talking about demons and stuff, going crazy. The same manager that's in here is the manager that had to move her out of my room because I tried to leave out of the room. She followed me around the corner and tried to fight me. While I had my baby, she had her baby. I told her stop following me, leave me alone. >> Go ahead. >> They um took her, put her in another room. She's no longer my roommate. Ever since then, the lady been messing with me. I come in there to warm up pizza for my baby before I come outside. She tried to close the door on me. So, I'm like, "What the [ __ ] is wrong with this lady?" She comes back in there with her daughter, with her little baby, throw water in my face, and swung on me, her, and the other lady. >> Okay. Just make sure you put everything on there, and make sure you put the original when you guys got dispatched. >> Also, put the statement that you were with me, everything like that there, too. >> Go ahead and print your name right here, and then tell me what you used to tell us in writing over here, okay? Everything from when the incident started, or when you had the confrontation before they had to move, all the way to now and what she did, okay? >> She just hurt her arm. >> Yeah, um like she said, we was going in there to heat up food for the baby. We was coming out here to smoke a cigarette. She went to close the door as I was pushing the stroller in, so it would have closed on the baby. And she said, "What's wrong with you?" So, she turned around was like, "You talking to me?" and just threw the water and started swinging. >> Okay. So, once she Where did she hit her? >> She was trying to hit her in the face. But I was protec- First off, she's pregnant, 8 months pregnant, heavily pregnant. So, I'm trying to protect her, then she starts swinging on me. So, I get them separated at one point, and that's when she swung on her. >> On the girl? >> Yeah. So, then they started locking back up, and I'm trying to grab the girl off of her, and that By now, staff is coming in cuz I had to go snatch up the baby, also, cuz she was screaming her head off. >> Okay. When you say I'm sorry. When you say she swung, did she hit her? >> Closed fist, swung, caught her about right here. >> Okay. >> And when she swung her, did she Did she have her daughter in her hands? >> No, she didn't have her daughter in her hands at the moment. Yeah, at the moment. >> But, she She got her kid some at some point in that fight? >> No, I had grabbed the kid kid. >> And you had the kid, but then she swung? >> Yeah, then she started swinging, so Damn, it was so many people in there. Somebody grabbed Penny out of my arms, and when I went back to try to break them out again. So, by then, Penny If I make no mistake, Penny was in Shayna's arms. >> Okay. Well, when you were getting hit, did you have the kid in your hands? >> She swung whilst I had the kid in my hand. Yes. >> Do you mind writing this? >> I have no problem with that. >> Do you mind writing this? Just make sure you do. >> I don't have a clipboard, so you see if you can find somewhere to >> I could use the table. >> All right. So, this is what you're going to do. You're going to print your name right here. Don't worry about anything else. Print your name right here. And tell me what happened, okay? >> Okay. >> All right. Be as detailed as you can, okay? >> Okay. >> Man, when you put a lot of people with different personalities and situations in one spot, it could be It could become very toxic and very dangerous. You know, that's why places like uh you know, places like prison, right? Uh for example, a lot of different personalities, a lot of different backgrounds, and it could It's It's dangerous, you know? And I'm not comparing prison to a homeless shelter, but there is a little bit of comparisons where, you know, people go to the homeless shelter you know, because they need help and stuff like that or whatever and whatever their situation is, right? But it's different backgrounds and different personalities, right? So even earlier when the lady that got struck was talking about, "Yo, this used to be my roommate." or whatever, right? And you're getting paired with random people and you may not vibe. That's why it could get real toxic. And there's people with mental health issues and all types of stuff going on. Man, yo. Hopefully everything works out as far as, you know, her pregnancy and stuff like that is concerned, but um that woman's got to go, man. She's she's she's got to go. She's got to go, man. >> Hey, what's going on, man? Good? >> Are you all in the room in there? Oh, she's pregnant. >> Go with the face tattoo. >> Oh, that's not I thought you said something else. >> Oh, sorry. >> All right. >> I know you they've asked you a numerous of questions, but I want to ask you what happened cuz I'm going to be writing the report, all right? >> Okay, so on the second night that I was here, we were like in the same room. >> Mhm. >> Um so I was eating something with my daughter on the bed. And then she starts she just jumps out of the bed and starts cursing at me and at my daughter. >> Mhm. >> So her people, like 10 people came and helped her. And I and I told her the only reason why I didn't hit her it was it was because her daughter was >> were the room, and my daughter was in the room. >> Uh-huh. >> Like And there's two things I don't mess with. People's job, children. >> Okay. >> I'm a mom. I have two sons and my daughter and one on the way. So But tonight, when I was coming out of >> She got one on the way, too? Well, hold on. Is this a homeless shelter for everybody that's pregnant? Like, what what I see a whole bunch of kids and pregnant people running around here. Listen, and then the and then the other thing is this. A lot of times, that that kid doesn't need to be held, okay? But I feel like it's a defense mechanism. When they see police or they're going to be investigated or whatever, they always want to hold the child, right? Because they might be afraid that the police is going to arrest them or lock them. You know what I mean? But they feel safe with having a child on their hip. >> She starts cursing at me. >> Uh-huh. >> And I go back and I said the same thing that I said the first night, "Are you talking to me?" And she said, "Yeah, bitch." And she starts cursing. >> Uh-huh. >> So I punch her. I punch her in the face. >> She didn't punch her first. >> And then >> She punched her. The girl punched her first. And they started jumping >> And And then the other lady comes, grabs me. >> Nah, nah, nah, nah. You stay in your lane, bro. Stay in your lane, bro, cuz we hearing her story. She said she punched her. Stay in your lane. Stay in your lane. We don't need your two cents, man. We We hear her her version of it loud and clear. She said she hit her. Now you talking about, "Oh, no, well, she hit her first." Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. >> And they started jumping >> And And then the other lady comes, in the face. >> She didn't punch her first. >> And then >> She punched her. The girl punched her first. And they started jumping >> And And then the other lady comes, grabs me. My arms are mine. So both of them team on me and hit me. >> Mhm. >> So, I had to try to to bring them down. It was a fight. And then one she pulled my hair. I tried to put put her against the wall. I pushed her against the the the trash can. >> Mhm. >> And that's when she pulled my hair. And then like 10 people came and started They were pulling on my hair. Right now if you touch here like >> Now, did Did you know that she's pregnant? >> Of course I I know she's pregnant. It is very obvious. You can see it. I believe that she's pregnant, but that's one of the reasons why I I told her do not disrespect me. >> Okay. >> Like do not. >> So, she So, you felt disrespected so you punched her. >> She was cursing at me and my daughter. >> Hold on. >> Yeah, stay in your lane. Stay in your mother-loving lane. He Look, comes up and his hand up like this. We're not trying to No, cuz you're with her, so you're going to side with her. Right? We That's why you just need independent witnesses, you know? Cuz it's her side then the other It's the victim, suspect, and then independent witness in the middle is going to you know, sway one way or the other. You're not independent. You're in favor of her, so you trying to change her story to say that the other lady hit her first. No, we just heard what this lady said, and she said she hit her. Period. You know what I'm saying? Nah, yeah. >> You felt disrespected so you punched her. >> She was cursing at me and my daughter. >> Hold on. >> She was cursing at me and my daughter. >> Mhm. Okay. >> How you going to let someone Like if you walking with your children and someone just comes and hits you. >> different. >> Yeah, but I I'm I'm just giving you an example. It's It's It's >> All right. So, um um All right. Do me a favor. Leave your daughter here. Let me Let me talk to you over here. See? See? Look at that. So, this is what's going to happen. All right. You're going to go to jail tonight, okay? Because you're pregnant, I'm going to put the handcuff in the front, >> [crying] >> okay? But, you're going to jail for battery, all right? >> What the hell is on her face? >> Is she going to go to jail? >> Don't resist. We'll get We'll get that solved, okay? >> What the hell is on her face? Hold on. I'm trying to get it. What the hell is that? Is that a pineapple or Is that some sort of flower? You remember what we were talking about the other day with the with the the throat tattoos and stuff like that? God damn. She got sunflower throat, huh? What What is that? >> All right. Can I know the reasons why I'm going to jail? >> Yep. For battery. >> [crying] >> For battery? >> Let's go. I'll I'll explain to you. >> But, she hit me. And they they both hit me. So, they have to go to jail. >> explain to you outside right here. Let's go. Let's not make [clears throat] a scene IN HERE, OKAY? >> [screaming] [crying] >> DON'T LEAVE MY DAUGHTER WITH NO ONE. DO NOT LEAVE her with anyone. Something happens to my daughter >> Ah, damn. I'm trying to figure figure out what's on her face. Wow. Yeah, she's violent tendencies, man. Violent tendencies. >> receiving the group messages. And um I'm having >> Can you call her father? >> Yeah, give me 1 second. Let me finish this and I'll go with you. >> I made sure to speak to her father. >> Do you want your chance for Is one of the guys that was over there? >> He's her step father. >> So, do you want your chance for him or not? >> Why didn't you stand up? >> what happened and let him know I'm on jail. >> Why didn't you stand up? >> Take a seat. >> See, yeah, that's her boyfriend. See, so you can't you you know you can't trust what he's talking about because he's just going to automatically side with her. Where I believe, you know, that one lady and then the worker that was there. The worker also got attacked. So I believe them. I believe that story versus her and her boyfriend. So he's going to automatically side with her. Like no. You got a worker that was attacked as well. Not only a client, you know, a worker, too. >> Deondre, go leave her alone. >> Yeah, where the dad at, man? The real you know, shout out my stepfathers, but the real dad, man. Where he at? I'm my daughter up in the homeless shelter. Man, man, where my daughter Man, give me my kid, man. I'll be like, "What?" >> Let me explain to her. So you asked you So you know, you asked that you're why you're going to jail. So you're going to jail for battery. All right, aggravated battery for her being pregnant and then battery on the on the friend that you also uh battered, okay? And the other one. >> They hit me. The other lady hit me. >> Yep. >> She hit me first. >> Okay, we understand it. In the state of Florida, okay? What he's What the officer saying here is that aggravated battery is that you knew or should have known that the other person was pregnant, which is why it's that charge, okay? So that's your charge. All right, and then there was another There was another person that was struck in the midst of all this fighting. Like, like this facility is likely going to ask you to leave permanently because of this. Okay, you can't fight here. It's just not allowed. We don't We don't fight here cuz it's like especially when we come here, we don't we don't mess around. Especially when there's kids involved and all this other stuff, it's just like no. Like, it's it's unacceptable, okay? Two wrongs don't make a right. All right? >> Yeah. >> Do you have any other questions for us right now? All right.
