You're being stopped for a left lane violation. >> For driving the speed limit behind other cars in the left lane. >> For driving in a left lane violation. >> You Y'all are stupid up here. You're arresting me for driving in the left lane. Yes, sir. >> So, I'm not being arrested because I flipped you off. >> Welcome back. >> I'm being arrested for a left lane violation >> to the Lackluster channel. On December 7th, 2021, Tristan was attempting to pass several vehicles in the right-hand lane, but several other vehicles were in front of him. It became impossible for him to pass the vehicles in the right lane, and he became boxed in when Major Bradwick Sherid of the Port Wentworth Police got behind him. The officer flashed his brights, but Tristan had nowhere to move. Tristan flipped off the officer, who then initiated a traffic stop. >> I locked the door. No, thank you. >> Unlock your doors. >> No, thank you. What can I do for you, >> sir? Major sheriff police department, I am advising you to unlock your door. If you fail to unlock your door, I will arrest you for obstruction. >> Why would you need to open my door? >> Because I can't see your hands and everything. >> I give a [ __ ] >> Step back to my >> Yeah, we'll step back to your car. Let's step back to those dumb asses. >> What was your name? >> Major Sheriff. Major sheriff, >> bring your stuff. >> Got a pocketk knife right there in that pocket if you want that. >> Okay. >> If you think Tristan looks familiar, you probably remember him from a video I published in late April this year. >> Is there an issue? >> No. You got one. >> We're falling too close. >> Okay. >> Two for do care. Okay. >> Well, I do not care. Can I have my ticket, please? Either roll it down or I'm going to roll it down for you. >> Go ahead and roll it down for me. >> All right. Get out of the vehicle. >> I have a gun on my hip. That make you feel better. There's a knife right here. You want that, too? >> Sure. >> 3446. Head this way. Step it up. >> Step it up. He wouldn't roll his window down. >> Quick. >> That video has over 1.6 million views, but if you haven't seen it, I'll leave a link for it below. This incident happened before that one, so there were no body cams. The only recording is from Tristan's cell phone and written transcripts from the officer's depositions, but we will get to that in a minute. For now, let's figure out why the department's third in command pulled him over. >> Why am I being stopped? >> You're being stopped for a left lane violation. >> For driving the speed limit behind other cars in the left for driving in a left lane violation. >> Driving behind other cars. >> Down to see it. Put your hand behind your back. >> Loosen your hand, >> man. Shut the [ __ ] up. I was holding my hands. Damn, you y'all are stupid up here. [Music] What's a left lane violation, >> sir? It's when you got a vehicle that's over six wheels. The signs are clearly posted. You're not being left home unless your passenger makes a left hand turn. >> And where does the sign out? >> Oh, is it time you failed to do so? You started transporting. >> You're arresting me for driving in the left lane. >> Yes, sir. You're being arrested for your >> disorderly conduct for your language, which your own recording will show. So, >> I don't give a [ __ ] if I have disorder. That's for disorderly in public, not against a stupid cop who's pulling me over >> for a left lane violation. Y'all are a joke. I'm glad I came here today. So, I'm not being arrested because I flipped you off. I'm being arrested for a left lane violation. >> Flipped me off. >> Yeah, I flipped you off. Don't ride by somebody and slip your sirens on. I was going the same speed as everyone else because I got trapped in the left lane. >> People pass in the right lane. >> Yeah, because a truck had just passed me. Go there. I got a [ __ ] dash cam. I don't care. >> You need to bring your ticket. >> Oh, we will. We'll bring it. >> Unfortunately, the dash cam did not record the incident. >> Is this a ticketable offense? >> Any of this dumb stuff really. >> Oh, you the left lane wasable. When you escalated this order of conduct, you'll be taken back to the office and processed and released from there. The vehicle is going to be impounded to SAPS record service and then you can get it out from there or a representative for this. >> Somebody else I sure ain't that is just trying to do a job and y'all just got to [ __ ] with somebody. So it's just a catch and release but you still have to take me to process >> process. >> Can't just be ticketed. You can for the left lane, but not just for not through this sort of combination. We take them back to the process and then release after that instead of going to the county jail. We just we got a fingerprint machine. But if you're flipping people off and out driving up on them, that's situation. You don't want to hit the knife. >> Is there anything else? >> Nope. Is there a wallet or anything in the truck you want? But since you're not going to be um >> Yeah. >> You said you're not going to get it. >> Well, I I'm not paying to get this damn thing. >> I I got you. >> No, it's in my lunch time. a second here now. >> Can I get my phone? >> Yes, sir. >> Oh, I can't get it. >> No, I'm going to give it to you when we get in there. [Music] Oh, I'll set it right here so you can keep an eye on it and then he'll give it to you in just a second. >> Two additional units arrive on scene and Tristan is placed in a cruiser to be transported to jail. The moment after handing Tristan off, the major leaves. >> Is he just uh he's cussing out there? I guess he needs to be arrested for disorderly. >> What's your name, boss? >> I don't answer questions, sir. >> Tristan was taken to jail where he was fingerprinted, booked, and released. His truck was impounded, and he was charged with disorderly conduct. During his depositions, the officer claimed that Tristan's use of cuss words would have provoked a violent response if he had not been in uniform. Immediately after, he admitted that he did not know how to define fighting words, as it is used in the disorderly conduct statute. So, it's no wonder that all charges against Tristan were dropped. Once they were dismissed, Tristan called the department to ask them to reimburse him for the impound fees. When the department refused to reimburse him in late 2023, Tristan filed a lawsuit against the major, who has now been promoted to the department's second in command. On the department's Facebook pages announcement of his placement as assistant police chief, Bradwick states that in his current role, he is excited to bring new technology to the department. It's notable that since his appointment, the Facebook page still cannot figure out how to crop a photo properly or how and when to use lowresolution images. Hopefully, the new technology the chief is referring to doesn't include audio, photo, or video devices, as these pictures were posted after his promotion. During the chief's depositions, we learned that he has been divorced a total of three times and was arrested for theft in the year 2000. He became a police officer the next year. His charge was reduced to disorderly conduct, the same charge he levied against Tristan for cussing and flipping him off. We also learned that just down the road from where Tristan was pulled over was a pilot travel center where trucks often pull in to fuel up. While reviewing the officer's police report, it was found that he never wrote anything about driving in the left lane. It was also revealed that the chief didn't know his oath or the five rights protected under the First Amendment. On August 26th, 2025, an order regarding the lawsuit was published. The judge wrote that even though Tristan used slurs towards the chief, he did so while simultaneously complying with the officer's commands and that his vulgar language was insufficient to establish probable cause for disorderly conduct arrest. And despite having the traffic citation dismissed, the judge then wrote that arguable probable cause existed for a left lane violation and for obstruction, though no one ever mentioned charging him for that. And due to the arguable probable cause, the lawsuit was dismissed with Chief Bradwick being granted qualified immunity. But this was just the district court's decision, which, as I've said many times before, almost always finds a way to side with the police only to be overturned on appeal. And Tristan is appealing the ruling. So when that happens, I'll be sure to let you know. Until then, check out the other video featuring him and let me know what you think of this encounter in the comments down below. [Music]
