It's always fascinated me how you could be arrested and locked in a cage and have a criminal charge placed on you for putting on the same uniform a police officer does. You got the same costume and you're trying to render the same aid or you're trying to give the same kind of ticket that a cop is doing. You're trying to exercise authority. This is another instance where you have the universal truth of don't steal, don't do bad things because the government hates competition. First of all, why would you want to be a tyrannical order following road pirate? And second of all, what if you can render better service than the local police department? If you haven't harmed anybody, if you haven't threatened to harm anybody, if you haven't damaged people's stuff, you shouldn't be arrested because you didn't commit an actual crime. Well, they broke a law. Well, laws are nothing more and nothing less than the opinions of politicians backed by the threat of force. So, this comes from Code Blue Cam. The name of the video is fake cop responds to emergency call gets arrested by real police. Let's check this out. >> Were you on the phone with him? >> They asked to come outside. I thought it was for you. >> Who else wants that? >> I don't know. He's on the phone with >> No, I thought I was I thought you guys needed help with that. >> Oh, no. No, we thought No, I don't I'm confused right now, man. >> I'm a retired Baltimore city. >> Okay. 27 years I come out here. >> If you are a commission police officer in the state, you'll be taken out of cuss and I will formally apologize. Okay. No problem. >> These officers in Washington are trying to figure out the role of this man in >> What if you're not a commissioned police officer, but you don't have a criminal record like other police officers? What if you don't have PTSD like a lot of police officers? What if you don't have arrogance, psychopathy, and immorality rattling around in your heart? What if you're actually a compassionate human being who actually wants to provide service and actually protect and serve the public? Any of their police departments? But the more they dig, the more they uncover a con so wild it even has some of them secondguessing themselves. I >> I was like around 5050. I was like, this is a mistake. because I've also seen the blowback on like Edmonds is gonna be chewing on like they did have an off duty guy here and we like jack one of their guys up. >> Around 6:23 p.m. on September 5th, 2024, a Breton Police Department officer rolls up to a local Salvation Army Center in Washington to inquire about an individual his co-workers had dealt with the day before. But as they dig into who this man really is, the story only gets weirder and sketchier. >> Does he work security for you? >> Yeah. >> I'll be back. >> Are you good? >> I'm good. >> Yeah. You want to come back over here? >> Yeah. >> I was talking to some other guys. You work for Edmonds, right? Okay. >> Yeah. And this is a part-time gig. >> Got you. Do you have your commission card with you? >> Yeah. Give me a minute. >> Meet 49-year-old Michael Scalleta Seeds. He claims to be a detective with the Edmonds Police Department in Washington, but this officer isn't exactly buying that claim. >> No, didn't find it. >> Sorry. >> No, he's he's going to it's in my other bag. >> Oh, okay. >> It's He's grabbing it now. >> Okay. How long you been working for the Salvation Army? >> Sorry. >> How long have you been working off duty for the Salvation Army? >> Uh uh I'm I'm here almost every other week. >> Every other week? >> Yeah. Uh, and then I also work down at the KRM. >> Okay. And what's your full name? >> Mezi Scalleta. >> M E Z Y. S A L E T. >> Your first name is Mezzi. >> M E Z Y. Correct. >> Hey man. Yeah. They It's going to be the green bag and it's got the my wallet with the credentials and everything inside. >> In the No, in the upstairs. Upstairs. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My bad. >> My apologies. Thank you. Search. Can you stay over here? Yeah. >> He's crap. All right. I'll see you in a minute. >> Is it a loaded firearm that you have with you, Mr. Correct. Okay. Can you put your hands on the car, please? >> Oh, so he's exercising his right to keep and bear arms, which shall not be infringed, but these police officers are infringing because he has the same kind of costume they do, and they got a problem with that. >> Not to attention this whole. Keep your hands over there. >> Can we not do this in front of I mean, really, >> you're doing just fine. Keep your hands. >> Yeah, no problem, man. Can I contact my parent as soon as y'all know? >> Do you have any other firearms on you, sir? >> No, sir. >> Okay. Here's what you do. >> So So you're not under arrest right now? >> Oh, but you've been detained. Okay. >> So his credentials. >> Okay. In the front. What agency did you say you're with? >> Edmmonds. >> You're with Edmonds. >> Edmmonds. Yes. >> Okay. Okay. Do you understand being a tainer? >> I I I understand the whole process. Yes, I do. Okay. >> Is he hired by? >> No. by >> he's sorry about your phone. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> We're concerned he's impersonating police officers not credential. Do you know for a fact that he's a police officer? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Call us last night. >> That's the concern. So if he credentials out, will this all be fine? >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Cuz you can't be a tyrannical road pirate unless you're credentialed. >> So what' you say your name was? >> Sorry. What' you say your name was? >> Is it okay if I check your >> absolutely my credentials and everything? >> Yep. >> Which where we where is it at? in front or should be actually is it where the radios are. It's other Yeah, it's there. Sorry. Watching someone impersonate an officer shows how powerful a uniform and a few official sounding words can be, but real skills and knowledge aren't something you can fake. They're earned. >> The only thing I know cops earn is the hate. >> NZ Y, I'm sure. You understand why you're detained right now or No, >> I don't I don't know. >> I think I did going what you're doing, but it's okay if I explain some of it. Sure. >> Okay. So, first off, if you are a commission police officer in the state, >> you'll be taken out of cuffs and I will formally apologize. Okay. No problem. >> All right. Here's a couple problems though. I'm the one of the supervisors in the city right now. If Salvation Army is hiring uniform commission law enforcement going to be carrying badge, gun, vest, especially not in our agency. So, if you're us and especially if you're law enforcement, understand you see a guy with detective badge, police badge, I think there's a swap badge somewhere on there as well, right in our jurisdiction and we haven't been notified that, hey, uh, Salvation Army's got armed law enforcement. You that's not true. You might have just been going from your employment to your car. However, when we came ac across you, right, you're uniformed and aren't when we came across. That's an accuracy. The concern is especially because you weren't given notification, right? >> I'm not operating. I'm not doing I'm not working. I'm not >> Well, here's here's the problem. It's messy, right? Correct. >> Here's the problem is that you're leaving. Even if you're leaving, >> Salvation Army, this is the number one crime hot spot in the entire city for us. >> I I retired Baltimore City. 27 years I come out here. Let me talk. I'm sorry. >> Well, well, I don't I I think we're not we're getting our wires crossed a little bit cuz what I'm trying to get you to understand is I understand that you're just leaving if if you're off duty. If you know this is the highest crime area in the city and you know that that's likely to your law enforcement experience and we're going to be in the area, probably not the best idea to be wearing a vest, armed going to and from >> cuz it's going to make us think some things up to up to and including possible criminal impersonation of a police officer. That's why you're detained. >> Criminal impersonation. Now, think about this for a second. A cop can impersonate a civilian, but a civilian can't impersonate a cop. It's just like lying. You can't lie to the government. If you lie to the government, that's a felony. If the government lies to you, that's just policy. And we get all that checked out. And you know what? This might be an error for their bosses and our bosses because if this is all true, right, and we weren't and and we just weren't notified, that that's what could have solved this is an email saying, "Hey, just so you know, there's a guy. He's law enforcement. He's being hired off duty of Salvation Army. You may see him coming over from the parking lot." That's what we'd say. Sounds good. >> We've heard nothing. >> Okay. >> Have you heard anything about this? No. Have you heard anything about this? >> We might have called Edmonds last night. >> The sheriff >> What? >> We might have called Edmonds PD last night. >> Yeah. >> Not on the payroll. >> Say it again. >> You're not on the payroll with Edmonds PD. >> The suspicion around Michael kicked in the night before. On September 4th, 2024, around 6:32 p.m., a Breton officer had shown up to check out an unknown fire nearby and ran into Michael, who claimed to be with Edmonds. But something about how he acted and the gear he had just felt off. So about an hour later, the officer swung by the same Salvation Army Center to talk to him. And Michael's behavior just made things feel even shadier. >> Are you on the phone with him? >> You know, he behaves and looks just like any cop. They all look wired out. They look tapped out. They look unnowledgeable. They're constantly earning the hate. >> They ask us to come outside. >> They're exercising their authority. >> I thought it was for you. >> Who asked us to come outside? >> I don't know. He's on the phone with me. >> No, I thought I was political. I thought you guys needed help with that. >> Oh, no. No, we thought No, I don't I'm confused right now, man. It's been my This is my first day back in a while. So, I was out with CO and uh >> Okay. >> It's been a while since I've been back here. Oh, yeah. I had Yeah, it was 11 times having it >> and he's a liar like all cops are. Clearly, this guy's lying. >> It was the worst. I I had to go to the hospital, get breathing treatment. >> Yeah, >> it was bad. It hurt to talk. >> Okay. >> It was I'm good now. Promise. >> Right on. just getting back here this afternoon as soon as I'm talking with the [ __ ] change and debriefing with him. But like this big pot like they made it out way worse. >> I thought you were like one of our detectives. >> I I know some of the guys more with the task force. Yeah. Uh I deal with more of the probation than anything. Um over there at the conception department, the detectives over there, I know more of those guys than anything out here. Well, so I retired from Baltimore City after 27 years. This guy is just a BSer, man. >> Um, came out here. It took about a year for me to end up going back. Went with Buren at first, Vers Sheriff's Department. There was a lot a lot of things going on and they wanted to put me in the jail. I know a lot of detectives from Edmonds. Yeah. >> Uh, from the gang network and stuff like that. Uh, the anti-narcotics training on base every year. Uh, >> how long you been detective with Edmonds? >> About two years. >> Two years. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Um, it was I started with robbery and now I'm with the game. >> Hey, I just want I got to stop by fixt by the way. I I >> Stalto. >> Staltto. >> Yeah. >> Are you going to be back here tonight? >> Get a card. >> Okay. I'm I'm I'm working all night. So, >> yeah. >> You'll see me. I'll be out here all night. All right, man. >> Fresh air, man. And I'll I'll grab a card for you and give it to you, man. >> Cool. >> Now, as more officers try to figure out if Michael actually works for Edmonds or anywhere at all, his crazy criminal past makes the whole situation feel even more off. That's not my bad. It No, it's the uh one with the uh Gatorade, the electrolytes. >> How long have you been with Edmonds? >> Uh almost 18 months now. >> 18 months. >> Yeah. Uh so I was at Thirst uh prior >> thirst county sheriff's office. >> Yeah. Yeah. Thirst for >> uh about a year. Uh so when I came I retired from Baltimore City, Maryland. 4 years ago. I came out here. I worked at the detention center for a little while. They did put me in the center. I didn't like it. >> This guy would be a great addition to the force. You got to admit it. He's a BSER just like cops. He lies incessantly. He's got a love for authority problem. He's clearly a psychopath and has a criminal record. What more could you want as a worthy addition to your thin blue line gang? >> Able to secure a spot over at Edmmond's after getting some other certifications. And it's a 18-month uh contracting uh show with investigations. >> So you you're you're only contracted to work 18 months. >> It's Yeah, that's what it is. Yes. You said you've been at Edmonds for 18 months, but then you said you're only contract. >> I got another 18 months left. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, I uh did the whole the two-year. >> I signed on for the two years. >> The only reason I was walking away is because I was like, "Hey, that's impossible to harvest. He was making me I picked up on that. I just wanted to let you know. >> You know, I understand your point of view. I'm not arguing with you. I'm not trying to be disrespect disrespectful. I don't think you're being >> I just um I'm just kind of irritated with it, right? Um I think it could have been done a little bit differently. >> You're irritated? >> Yeah. Uh >> talk talk to me. >> I I wasn't operating. I wasn't Hey, listen, man. You You guys saw it. I I get where you're coming from. >> I came to a great store. Tell me about it. And I was like, "No, >> PC." >> They were looking checking out a transit. Started a fire last night and he pulled up on Casey and turned on blue emergency lights inside the car and got out and was like, "Hey, come over." In 2015, he was involved in like a SWAT incident where he barricaded himself inside and had like a whole like threat of like blow the place up. So, it was like a bomb threat. SWAT was involved. They came out. >> He was detained and arrested in District of Columbia. That was from Lynx back in 2014. >> So, where are you staying while you're in Birminton? >> Sorry. >> Where are you staying while you're in Birminton? Are you an op or something? What brings you to Breton? >> Uh for this off duty. I live in thirst in Lacy. >> It's a far drive. >> It is. It's a lot. >> Why not work in thirst? >> I live there. Um we were having issues. Uh, I don't want to work in the jail anymore. >> What kind of issues? >> Dealing with the same people that we were dealing with. Um, and some of the positives. Derek, I love him. He's a great guy. >> Derek >> Santis. >> San, right? Uh, when he came became sheriff, a a lot of things have changed. Sorry. >> As some of their suspicions start to check out, officers get more pushy with Michael. And soon they're about to find out the fire wasn't the only call he shown up to the night before. >> Tell me Tell me what happened in 2015 with Baltimore PD. >> The riots. >> I think you know exactly what I'm talking about. >> The unit. Yeah. Uh that's I I worked in the eastern prison. We we knew the feds were there. >> Um but you you keep your nose clean. You don't have to worry about uh >> Well, I'm talking about the offense where you were arrested in Baltimore City. >> Me? >> Yeah. In 2015, >> I was arrested. I wasn't arrested. Never been arrested. >> Never been arrested. Never once. >> Never. Never been arrested. >> So when I search you in our police database and your name and date of birth come back with an incident in 2015 with the District of Columbia, which is obviously Washington DC. >> That's DC. Yeah. >> Mhm. You said no. Go take me on Apis right now. Never. No. >> The shirt is in the plastic. His reflective vest is straight from GS. >> Yeah. Look, he's got a firefighter helmet, too. >> Jesus Christ. We're going to do it all. >> Can we check by? >> Absolutely. If you want to if you want to search. >> You guys can do it. Go ahead. >> Where's your key at? >> It's Oh, okay. >> It's a black >> consents to a search. Now, as a wouldbe law enforcement officer, you never want to consent to a search and you never want to talk to cops. You should know that. >> Plastic bag. It's got some Gatorade in it and it's got my wallet. >> I just want to confirm you're giving us the consent to search the vehicle. I just want to hear from you. Yes or no? Are you giving us consent to search the vehicle? >> Y'all going to tear my vehicle apart? >> We're going to search the vehicle. >> We're going to We're going to We're not going to >> We're done. All right. This This We're done. No. >> No. Okay. >> You're not going to tear my vehicle up? No. >> Oh, withdrew consent. Well, good for you. Okay. >> Apply for a search warrant. Do what you got to do. >> Let's remove the gear. >> Let's solve that problem. >> Okay. >> He's going to jail time. It's a big no. I know you I'm not I'm not like playing at you. I'm just explaining the reason for the response. Okay. He's been >> This is great. Jacob would like to get his Bible out of your car. Jesus drive the Bible. >> Yeah. >> I I don't have CO no more. I I uh took a test and it was negative, but I was out sick. So, >> you don't have COVID? >> I did had I was out. I'm not sick no more. I I was able to return back to work. I was treatment, but my mouth is dry. No drink of water. >> No uh ankle holster. Nothing like that. >> Sorry. >> No ankle holster. Secondary firearm. >> No, absolutely not. I'm not going to pull no weapons, no other weapons. You got everything right here. >> Is it a cell phone? Okay. >> Do you have Do you have anything else in your pockets? Uh like your wallet? >> I I believe I have my my bait on in this side. >> Okay. >> In this. Do you mind if we take that out? >> Absolutely. Michael's masks are starting to slip and pretty soon a bunch of witnesses will be lining up with crazy stories from the night before that leave some of the officers shook at the [ __ ] Michael pulled. >> So his boss is Jacob Stevenson says in Steven >> Oh, so Michael's pulling [ __ ] just like regular police officers who are always harassing members of the community. So he's no different from a real law enforcement officer. >> International. Okay. >> According to him, he was he's been looked into, background checked, told that he was he looks into everybody. That's why I said that. Can you expand on the policy whether you guys are allowed to be armed or not? Would you like to call? >> If we are qualified for it, then we are bonded with the state for that. I'm personally not, but uh we can be on the side if they can personally call for that, but you have to be bonded with the company, which is >> Have you seen him arrest anybody? >> No. >> Detained, handcuffed, nothing. >> The couple stole your vehicle. Okay. >> He hasn't arrested, detained, or handcuffed anybody. He's actually better than the cops. Holy cow. He's providing better service. Sorry. >> This is the tow form to for your vehicle going to our office and then the kids go yard after we're done. Are you all sit before we done this? I >> I would. Thank you. >> Are you still talking >> at this time? I'm running my right and remain silent. >> Okay. All right. Fair enough. >> We all know better. >> Fair enough. Call that wy law enforcement. >> We all know better. We all know better than to talk to police. Would be police officers know this. And real police officers know this >> from experience, huh? >> What the hell? >> Wait, what? >> Wait, I got to see this again. >> All right, fair enough. >> We all know better. >> Fair enough. Call that wy law enforcement experience, huh? >> What the hell, man? This is insane. >> Go and take a seat. Your audio video record. >> Uh, real quick. Uh, can he have my cell phone or do you guys Are you guys need >> Who who do you want to take your slot? O'Brien. >> Okay. >> You want him to have your telephone? >> Yeah. Can you give it to him, please? Sure. >> I want him to call my wife and you say, "I want to give him the passcode." >> I'm speechless. >> When an officer hops on, >> if he really does have a wife, can you imagine? She's sitting at home. She gets a call. Michael did what? He You got to be kidding me. >> All with Michael's wife, he finds out Michael's lies run way deeper than the crap they thought they were dealing with. Hey, Oscar Smithson Police. He was walking around. He had an outer vest on, outer carrier. He had a lot of police gear. Had a full belt, fully kitted. His vehicle is a new Ford Explorer outfitted with with blue lights, like police lights. He um is wearing police gear that has police on the back. His uniform has SWAT patches on it. And his the badge that he is wearing says Edmonds detective, badge number 360. Okay. He's impersonating a police officer, which is criminal impersonation in the second degree. >> I'm so sorry, sir. I I just woke up. >> Okay. He's being >> This guy is invested in this >> for criminal impersonation and unlawful possession of a firearm. >> I'm so confused right now. >> What part is confusing? >> This whole thing. I mean, I thought that he went to work last night. >> Does he work at Salvation Army? >> What? >> Does he work at the Salvation Army in Breton? >> No, no, he's he's supposed to be Breton Kitsub >> doing what? Well, I know he's a reserves police officer. That's what he told me. That's the work he's he's doing. >> He's a reserves police officer for who? I >> I'm so I You know what? I don't know what I I know he's he's contracted. That's what he's told me. >> Mr. Scalleta, you were convicted of It looks like a bomb hoax. >> What? >> A bomb hoax in 2015. >> What? >> In 2015, you're convict hoax by false bomb. You were sentenced to four. >> No. >> Four months in prison. >> What? No. No, bro. Uh-uh. Did you get your firearms rights restored? >> Gosh. Sorry. I'm not doing anything my just adjusting. I'm just kind of I laid back on my seat. >> Yeah, >> I inverted my rights, man. Uh this is all your investigation. I'm not I'm not trying to be a dick. I'm not Don't Don't take it the wrong way. I just >> This is probably a little bit overkill, but given the apprehension that Kirsty gave last night about this case, >> would you guys walk around and see how many people you can talk to that will say, "Yes, this guy said he was a cop." Michael's wife would call the officer the following day and inform about a case full of firearms that she discovered in Michael's room. And while officers canvased the area, even more wild tea about what he pulled the night before starts blowing up. >> So last night, uh, one of our officers was just contacting a group of transients who were like making a small fire. Not a big deal. Um, your employee who drives this car pulled up on that scene and turned on blue emergency lights inside of his car and then got out and told the officer on scene that he was an offduty Edmonds PD detective. >> Okay, here I'll show you that. >> I don't know. So, when I heard about this from last night, I came over here cuz I was curious. I'm like, that sounds a little out of place. So, he approached me wearing this vest and he has a badge that says Detective Edmonds on it. So, the officers that were working last night went the extra step and called the Edmonds Police Department. They've never heard of him. He's not on the payroll. So, between showing up on scene with commissioned officers, saying he's a cop, having blue emergency lights, >> and then this morning approaching me saying he's police, wearing a police vest, >> right? >> Yeah. And then furthermore, today he was carrying a firearm. It was unloaded. He's a convicted felon. He can't have a firearm. So, he's going to jail today for a criminal impersonation of the second degree and unlawful possession of a firearm. >> Hey, um at any point uh overnight, anything, did you have conversation with uh that security guard? It says like police on the back of his vest? I well conversation as far as not talking to him but just like he came up he's like he doesn't need anything. >> Okay. Did he tell you at any point that he was a cop? >> I no I guess it was implied >> by the police badges and he looked like a cop. >> Gotcha. >> Um I'm assuming he was not >> That is correct. >> Okay. All right. >> You're not in trouble. I was just wondering. So there's a guy walking around um in kit like ours. He was wearing a badge and everything. Did he ever talk to you? >> You had a car? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> What did he say to you? >> He's the one that wanted me in last night. Okay. >> Like like you know security at the front door. >> Did he ever claim to be a police officer? >> Just uh they checked my bag and and made sure that I didn't have anything I wasn't supposed to. >> Yeah. I never seen it before, but >> I never had either. >> But one of the staff had asked me about, you know, they're getting on me about having so much my hygiene or or medications or and I told I told one of the staff guys, I said, "Well, you know, that's my medication. Yeah, this medication for my my third degree wound, you know, right?" you know, and and he goes, he goes, >> "Do you have that wound covered up?" >> I go, "It's a 30° from April." >> So, did he ever tell you that he was a police officer? >> I mean, he had police thing on, right? I mean, >> so the guy that has been walking around with the vest, >> police, and the Edmonds badge. Did he ever talk to you? >> Yeah, I talked him this morning over at 7-Eleven. >> Does he ever claim to be a police officer to you? >> Um, yeah, he has. >> Okay. So, anyway, he uh at 7-Eleven pushing everybody out down there this morning when I was down there. >> What do you mean? And he tell everybody to get off the property >> at 7-Eleven. >> Yeah, 7-Eleven. >> Uh, I said hi to him, but he didn't say anything. And then he he talked to one of the guys was on on the ground there. >> When was that? This morning. >> Do you remember? >> 5:30. 5:30. >> Yeah. 5 just before 5:30. Around that time. >> Did he say he was a police officer then or? >> Well, he he kind of told him that, you know, that it was like um it's not this time of the day that you're supposed to be here. You know, that you need to be off the property. So, >> when So, you said he has talked to you previously. So, he was bossing people around just like cops do. Yep. He'd be the perfect fit for this police department. >> Yeah. Well, I've known him here. >> When did he last tell you that he was a police officer? Remember? >> Um, this has been probably 2 months ago. >> This thing is already talked to everybody. >> He was over at 7-Eleven, 5:30 this morning trespassing people off the property. >> Did he tell you that he was a commission law enforcement officer? So they're laughing about him trespassing people off the property, but they do that all the time. >> She just said he did work >> You can't trespass people. You cannot kidnap people. You cannot harass people. Only we can do that. >> He works with detectives or something about like an emergency uh response team of some sort. >> I think he used sort of vague language. >> Well, it was Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. I see. >> Okay. >> Oh, wow. I don't know what to say. the owner of the company. You got to have a mini question. >> Around 2:31 in the morning, a Breton officer rolls out to call from a 7-Eleven manager who wants someone trespassed off the property. As the officer arrives on scene, a familiar face appears as well. >> One guy and lot of people hanging clean and this guy 24 hours. >> No, who grew? >> I call and this guy 24 hours here in the room every need to leave. Yeah. No more. >> And now, as one of the officers heads over to the store, the manager's got a curious story to spill. And on top of that, a witness comes forward with a disturbing tale that makes the whole thing even more messed up. >> We just arrested a guy for impersonation of a police officer. He's dressed like us. He's got a badge like us. >> Oh, this police guy. >> Yeah. >> He said >> he had a gun on his head. >> All night he walking. >> All night here. >> Yeah. All night he's walking and around here and in this side and badge and weapon this and three four time he's come inside inside the store. >> Yeah. He's around purchase some drink and I call for one some people here 24 hours I call 911. Your colleague is come and he's together. >> He was talking to customers inside >> and he told them that he was a police officer when he came up to your window shine the light in and stuff like that. >> Right. >> Did you get a feeling >> that was one of you guys? >> Yeah. So there was one of us. Were you getting a feeling like you were being harassed, >> like questioned during like a police investigation? Were you feel like you were like he was kind of like detaining? >> He kind of leaned in there. He would kind of lean in there, you know. He made a suggestion. Remember I told you, he said, "Well, you know, if I ever need something or any information, I know I can count on you." And I'm looking at this guy like I >> Yeah. And then he said, "Uh, then he said, "Tell me about how he's going to have patrol of the narcotics department. He's going to be running some of you guys' units. He's been promoted and he's moving up here this way." The last time I seen him, he was drunk as a mother >> and he was on duty. Everybody knew he was drinking. He was drunk. You can smell it on his breath. You can smell it around him. He was drunk. But you know, like I said, he he was a lot out of character yesterday for me. I'm glad you guys caught him cuz he's been telling Dick story. >> He told you he told me that he went over there to respond. >> Was it like a turnover thing? >> He says he had to take a break from here to go there. I will I will I will volunteer some additional uh like the first time he worked his first assignment with our our security team that we were working at convention downtown and all our post in the interior of the convention center and I got a call from security that the police were in the roadway redirecting traffic because there was a car accident at the entrance of the uh parking garage and when I went up to look it was I got here >> he's directing traffic. >> Yeah, he had his vehicle in the car. He had his vehicle in the roadway kind of angled and people come forward and his smash bike. We routed people away from the area where >> Did you have emergency lights turned on in the car, too? >> That's for sure. >> Okay. >> And yet, this wouldn't be the end of Michael's shitfest. As news of the huge hoax got around, one of his neighbors hit up an officer later that night to spill how Michael had totally played him and his friends. >> I've always been told he was Edmond's PD. >> You've always been told that? >> Yeah, for like the last few months that he was Edmond's PD and that's what the the past showed. And like even my friends always thought that he was like Edmond's PD. >> Okay. And how how did you guys come to that conclusion that he was with Edmonds >> uniform and then word of mouth that he was Edmonds PD? >> Did he ever come to you guys and be like, "Hey, I work for Edmonds." >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. So, you you drove with him to the shooting range in this vehicle. So, you were able to see all this. The most recent story that he told you is about how he did a search war in Birminton at a trap house. >> One of Michael's ex-colagues later shared screenshots of their chats showing how he constantly painted himself as a hardworking cop, skipping dinners with his wife, always jumping on emergencies. But it gets crazier. He even sent her a video where it looked like he was responding to a deadly emergency. The man's deception seemed to have no limits. And officers were about to discover even more evidence of it in his car. >> And now, even as Michael's story has fallen apart, he's still clinging to his shady act. >> What's the process now? Where we What are we doing? >> You're going to the Kab County Jail. >> Okay. And get processed in. Uh do I see Do you know if I'll see a judge? >> You'll see a judge either today or tomorrow. I don't know for sure cuz it depends on what the arraignment schedule look like. >> Okay. Are these serious charges or >> two felonies? >> Two felonies. Why? What are the two felonies for? >> Criminal impersonation in the first degree and unlawful possession of firearm in the second. >> Uh criminal >> criminal impersonation in the first degree as a felony for pretending you're a psychopathic road pirate. >> Impersonation of the first degree. >> Yes. >> Who in their right mind would ever want to impersonate a tyrant anyway? Oh, that's right. Michael's not in his right mind. >> Yes. >> And that's what would make him the ideal police officer. >> So, what how did they turn to first degree? >> Turns out you were taking significant law enforcement action >> where >> at the at the 7-Eleven. >> I I was taking action. >> There's actually two things that I know of so far. One is that you were kicking people off the property at the 7-Eleven and taking trespass enforcement. And two, you were interviewing one of the local transients about a suspicious death at Salvation Army. What? And all right. Okay. Oh my goodness. A suspicious death. Uh, as far as like when I see a judge, do they uh release people or do they always give them a bond? Cuz you know, like sometimes people get like released without having to pay a bond. >> I mean, you've been a cop for 30 years and you don't know how jail work. >> Uh, well, no, it's different. I hear because like No, I'm asking what are >> you work for Evans, right? >> So, like what what are like do they release people? Are they like really strict on bonds or jail? >> Sorry. >> What happens when we take people to King County Jail? >> Well, this is at King County. I'm just asking how are the judges out here like what's it like? >> I worked for the Seattle Police Department for 7 years, but I put people in King County Jail. So, I know exactly how works at King County. >> I I don't know. I'm just asking. I >> No, I understand. >> I I I don't know what the judges are like out here. So, I'm just asking. >> Oh, okay. When was the last time you used? >> I don't use. Why you say that? >> Because I think you're high. >> You think I'm high? >> I think you're high. Okay, that's your opinion, man. I'll take a drug test for you. Matter >> of fact, Mr. Spetta, my theory is that this whole pretend to be a cop thing down in Salvation Army is a opportunity for you to seize drugs from local transient people. That's what I think. I think that's how people drugs. >> Yeah. No, not never. >> Really easy, right? >> I I've never made I've never enforced that. I'm a security. No, never. I've never done anything like that. cuz you were asking that guy last night over on the street if he had any drugs. >> I've never No, absolutely not. >> That you're shaking down your flashlight and asking about illegal drug use over on the street, not even in Salvation Army property like that. >> Yeah, that is a complete lie. But no. >> Okay. >> Not not true. >> What's What's that guy? >> Absolutely not. There's cameras on property, bro. Like everywhere I go when I do my rounds, I don't make No, man. >> You didn't turn on your body camera at all last night? >> Why would I? I'm not I'm not it's not the only time I turn on the body camera if like there's an incident to where it needs to be documented. >> Okay. >> If he has illegal drugs and asking questions about >> No. No. Absolutely not. Shook nobody down. I've never made contact physical wise. >> I'm I chat with everybody, man. I tell them look they got Oh, absolutely not. Yeah. Yeah. You trying to get me riled up. Never asked about drugs. Never shook. No, no, never by death. Uh-uh. That >> ultimately, Michael was charged with felony, unlawful possession of a firearm, criminal impersonation, and he was subsequently given a cash bond set at $50,000. >> So, it turns out that Michael is a lying son of a [ __ ] psychopath, the perfect applicant for any police department.
